I could eat here every day. First, you should know that I am in no way affiliated with this restaurant nor its staff...I'm just a regular guy off the street who gave the place a try while using the laundromat next door. Nevertheless, I was treated like an old friend by the twins, whose enthusiasm and friendliness are contagious. What's more, this is the most accommodating cafe you'll find -- if you have a special request or want an off-menu dish, just say the word. I felt so much like a welcome guest that I was tempted to help clear the table after lunch. Now to the food. I have had (so far) only the fish and chips, and a Swiss mushroom burger. Both dishes were delicious and nicely presented. The two fish fillets were big, fresh, perfectly crunchy outside and savory inside, and the fries were of equal quality. My burger (not on the regular menu, but that day's special) was generously sized and the beef was juicy and flavorful. People, it's up to us to keep this culinary gem going. Very friendly on the phone and all items had our names on the box and picked up at the time we were told they would be ready. There was orders of sandwiches and breakfast which were all delicious. Looking for local businesses to support during a pandemic? This is one to add to your list! Their six month anniversary was last weekend. It's a rough time to be a new business. Party of four tried this place for the first time and were pleasantly impressed. It's tough to find a good hamburger in the bay area. One where when you ask for medium-rare, you actually get a medium-rare burger and it's not overcooked. To top it off, the richly colored yellow-orange brioche buns seem to be homemade, and at the very least toasted to perfection for a delightful crunch that should be considered standard for any place that sells a burger. Lettuce and onions and tomatoes were fresh, not held over from the previous day. Don't have many usual photos because we were hungry and the food was delish. Reuben sandwich had plenty of meat, not too salty--good. mild Sauerkraut on the sandwich (could have been more acidic for balance in proportion to the meat.) Outstanding toasted bread. Clam chowder had clams and lots of potatoes. Be sure to mix it up from the bottom of the container before eating so you get a bite of everything. Pulled-pork sandwich was very tender, BBQ sauce was not too sweet, and thoroughly enjoyable. On a perfectly toasted roll. With homemade fried onions that added to texture and flavor. Cole slaw, a little sweet for my taste, but fine for the rest of the group. The brownies were superb. Small, but a perfect chewy texture, and what it didn't have in size, made up for in every nibble with flavor and texture. Lastly the french fries -- also another item that is so difficult to find a good version of. Fresh cut, you can see with skin on the ends. These were super crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The crunch made it through take out (where it steams in the box until you finally get to eat them). Steam can instantly ruin anything fried. That these made it to their destination and were still super crunchy raises the level of fry rating to an 8. Top ten rating goes to perfectly cooked triple-fried (literally) fries (a method perfected by the French). Finally a restaurant that isn't too far. When I looked at their menu I saw "bone-in" fried chicken and Belgian waffles. Do you know this is multiple steps up from boneless chicken and a regular waffle? That they even offer either is rare, but together, I can't wait to try it. Just hope the chicken is of high quality and that it doesn't get overcooked. Looked up The Twins Restaurant on facebook and they frequently have daily specials that they post in the morning. Which will totally have me checking to see what is being offered. Great to see a local restaurant engage with the community in multiple ways, offering cooking technique and care that raises the level of what you experience in your mouth. While I won't expect everything to be perfect, I look forward to returning to trying other items on their menu. I haven't met the twins yet, but thanks for the food and for offering daily specials. I see the post regarding your extended your upcoming hours: "we're going to try something NEW starting next week April 30th we will open at 7a.m. NEW HOURS for THURSDAY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY ARE 7a.m.-8p.m. Please come join us! My husband and I found this restaurant by accident We were on our way home from the casino on Sunday. I was checking yelp for good restaurants and this one came up. So we decided to try it. I have eaten here twice in a week. First try was the Crab Benedict Special. Lord have mercy! Delish! It was so yummy and rich, I have to admit I only ate have but picked the crab off the second side. It came on a homemade biscuit. Heaven! Husband had the Monte Cristo, another winner. Oh and of course we ordered the Beignets. I can't remember the name of the sauce that comes with it but they should package it and sell it. Ohhh so good. I went with my daughter today. I had the tuna melt. She had the BLT. There's Good News and there's Bad News. Let's start with the Bad . . .the cost of Gas. If you live in the Bay Area, you are seriously going to want to drive out there because their food ROCKS! We were taking our son out to SSU for a tour and found this place on Yelp (which BTW, tried to search on their app to leave a review and it wouldn't show up. Go figure.). Now the Good News (be prepared for a long read). When we showed up, extremely friendly place (and they were busy) and sat immediately. One of the Twins showed up took our drink orders and explained everything was made from scratch from their place, so that made it difficult to choose what to eat because everything sounded so good. My wife was seriously torn between the Pastrami and the Turkey Melt. The edge went to the Pastrami because it was slow cooked and smoked. WINNER! I went with the Fish & Chips because my eye caught the Cajun sauce (as opposed to Tartar Sauce). Being addicted to Cajun, had to go with the Fish/Chips and asked for extra sauce. Sauce was really really good, it has a kick but I wouldn't say too hot as it would be acceptable to those who are afraid of Cajun Hot stuff. The Fish? Holy Schamoly! Perfectly breaded and not overwhelming. Fish very tasty too! The Fries were perfect and my son & wife were stealing my fries too. Here's the other thing, this place is the ONLY place in the history of me eating where I actually ate (and ate it all!) the Coleslaw. Now, some of you make like Coleslaw but I detest it. I hate the sweet taste with cabbage and carrots and I always at least take a strand of one cabbage every time one comes with my order and taste it as a form of respect just to say, "I tried it and hated it." Well? I took one strand of the cabbage and the dressing they put on it was more tangy than sweet, took another bite, then another and then another . . . then sad it was all gone. Had to take a bite of the Pastrami and that was very tasty as well. Pastrami was tender and you can get a hint of the smoke to give that extra punch. My son got the Monte Christo and he said he loved it, I didn't take a bite because it goes back to me not liking sweet stuff on my food as the Monte Christo has Powdered Sugar on the sandwich. But he said it was very tasty. And TOTALLY FORGOT TO MENTION: Order the Beignets!!! Definitely a must! But overall, this place absolutely rocks! With great food and great service just makes this restaurant tops in my book. I just hope my son picks SSU or we're just gonna have to re-fi the house to pay for gas to come back. read more

Did ya'll lose your taste buds?! Because I know I didn't. I had the chicken fried steak - which was over cooked. Flavorless gravy both on biscuits and chicken fried steak. Oil used to deep fry the food was stale. Beignets we're bland - why go through all that trouble, I'd rather have beignets from Popeyes. The dipping cream also was not sweet but runny. Don't let the outside fool you. Inside is a breath of fresh air. Nice change for a CA restaurant. Clean and bright you're immediately greeted with a smile and a warm welcome as you walk in. Another great idea more places could learn from. While there is easily seating for over 50, I had chosen to go in after the "normal" breakfast rush around 1030am. Thankfully this place serves breakfast all day. Great concept. Julie (one of the Twins), was my server and could not have been nicer. Perfect friendly attitude and a smile that doesn't quit. She actually looks like she enjoys being there. I ordered what I thought was a basic 2 egg breakfast. It came with the eggs, country fried potatoes and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit was top notch and was served with homemade jam. These alone are worth the return trip. Everything came out quickly and hot. My coffee was never less than 3/4 full and Julie was on top of keeping it hot. Nice portion size and plenty of menu options will require a return trip, maybe to try a lunch option? As I was ready to go, Julie recommended their homemade Beignet. I got an order to go, but the presentation didn't disappoint. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. Happy to have a new restaurant in the area! I went around noon and it was pretty empty. Within a half hour the place was packed with people eager to eat! We opted for breakfast and it was great. I'm always skeptical when i see so many 5 star ratings, but in this case they are absolutely deserved. Delightful staff, clean restaurant and incredible food make this a triple play. Greeted warmly and given a choice of indoor or outdoor seating we opted for indoor. There were a couple of specials on the board but we went with standard menu items. I got the tuna melt sandwich on sourdough with a side of fries, i'm actually dreaming about it now it was so damn good. Chunks of tuna in a not too much mayo mix on toasted San Francisco sourdough (which by the way is the only place i've ever had decent sourdough) with crisp and perfect fries. Number 2 got the Belgian waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, i wanted to try some but i didn't want to risk losing a hand reaching over, they were devoured before i could get to them, needless to say, incredibly fresh. Everything is homemade or locally sourced, hell, i'd bet the tuna is raised in the back! Can't say enough great things about this place, i'm so happy my business travels will take me back there so i can try more of the delicious offerings at The Twins! read more

Monday morning breakfast blues (see what I did there?) inside joke my friends will get it. Back to my Monday as it were. I simply had grown tired of the same breakfast haunts of the past. I needed a new jam with good food, smiles and laughs to spare. Well, I found it and at a new reasturant as amazing as that sounds. While in Cotati this morning, I found Twins located on East Cotati ave, near Olivers market. I was immediately greeted with a warm smile and cheerful greeting. I took my seat and noted the cleanliness of the space. I always value an extra clean establishment while consuming food. The menu was concise not cluttered providing ample options. It was also refreshing to see Gluten Free options, for those I love. Now the real test, I asked for suggestions from wait staff to which the reply was the Chilaquiles are the "Bee's Knee's". The Bee part is not true but, let's not get distracted. This dish is said to be the chef's speciality and 100% it did not disappoint. My plate arrived fresh and hot with an aroma that teased my taste buds. To say it was amazing is an understatement, I highly recommend this dish as a challenge to all Chilaquiles out there. By far the best I have ever had and I love that Twins is near my home, so I can visit often. Best Chilaquiles in all the land! The coffee was hot the staff was enthusiastic from start to finish. The Twins is my new to-go spot. Not only was the food delicious but the staff kept coming over to check in on us and ensure that our experience was a positive one. They also did this with other tables in the restaurant. The "twins" are spectacular and so welcoming. I appreciate a small business like this. I myself am a business owner and love their structure. So good! We were just passing through and found The Twins on Yelp. A 5 star rating was too good to pass up, so we took the time to stop and enjoy... and we're glad we did! I had the fish tacos and my wife had the turkey melt with sweet potato fries. We were both super pleased. Saw the ratings on Yelp and stopped by for breakfast. Boy am I glad we did. The food was amazing. I like my huevos rancheros made with a crispy shell and it's very hard to find this version. I am happy to report this is the version I have been looking for. Red and green sauce, so good, I used my spoon to get all of it. And this cilantro cream, WOW! Eggs were perfect and whole black beans. Very satisfied. My husband had ham and eggs. He also had biscuits, freshly made and flaky. The raspberry jam was so good, I dipped my already jammed biscuits into the jam for more. It was that good. My husband reports the eggs cooked perfect and the ham was delicious. We also shared pancakes. No complaints here. Great flavor and light. And coffee was fresh and a darker blend. Service was friendly and efficient, they were very busy but never felt rushed. Open for breakfasts and lunches and a nice selection. We live about 20 minutes away so I can't go as often as I would like but I will be going out of my way to eat there! read more

DoorDashed The Twins for a mid-afternoon snack after a hike. We ordered the Chicken Tenders and a side of their Mashed Potatoes which both arrived quickly, the Chicken Tenders were a bit disappointing, they were pretty dry and lacked some flavor, and we're slightly overcooked. The Ranch they came with was mediocre as well, less of a ranch and more of a herby cream sauce. The Mashed Potatoes had a unique texture being both creamy and chunky, but, it somehow worked, it was still a bit lacking in flavor (mostly salt) however it was a nice side dish nonetheless. Honestly, this is not a meal I would order again, but, I won't knock The Twins just yet. I hear they're much more of a breakfast spot, and with all the great reviews I can't wait to try something else. read more

Today was their opening and it was one for the books. I ordered the chicken and waffles and they were incredible. They came with maple syrup, chipotle barbecue sauce, and some kind of delicious butter. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the waffle was fluffy. I ate with a few friends and they also enjoyed their meal. The tuna melt had a spicy sauce that made it all its own. My other friend had the huevos rancheros. The red and green sauce were totally authentic Mexican like you would have in Mexico. The twin girls were excellent waitresses(I couldn't tell them apart). Can't say enough about this place. Go here for a wide variety of top shelf entrées at Breakfast or lunch. read more
