    French toast special

If you've never been to The Twins, you should go now. I've been there 4-5 times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. The twins who own the business are the lovely, wonderful friendly hosts. The food is amazing!! It's located in a shopping center in Cotati. They are open early for breakfast and lunch. I was there last Sunday for brunch. I ordered the French toast special with strawberries, mini chocolate chips and whipped. 3 large pieces of toast filled my plate. It was delicious. My friend ordered the tuna sandwich and tomato soup and it's one of her favorite items on the menu. The entire staff is friendly. It's like having breakfast in your friend's kitchen. You can check their website to see how long the wait is. Weekends are very busy. It's worth the drive to Cotati to check out this little gem.

Love this place. They remember their customers, too, which makes you feel special. It's an adorable, honey vibe with plenty of seating inside and out. The food is always good. Haven't had a bad meal there yet.

We were going to go to the Himalayan restaurant next door but decided to eat at Twins because it was busy and dishes looked good on peoples tables. Server was super nice. We got the lemon ricotta pancakes, beet and goat cheese salad and Monte Cristo sandwich. My sister enjoyed her pancakes, I tasted it and found them a bit soggy. The salad was disappointing. Just didn't have a good balance of flavors. Dressing needed more acid and less orange bits, more bits and I don't think there was any pecans. I love monte cristo sandwiches and will try them any place I go for brunch. This was ok. I did not like flavor of the SMOKED ham. It was too strong on the French toast. Also, their syrup did not taste like real maple syrup but the fake high fructose corn syrup.

I had breakfast this morning at The Twins with my family. We have been coming here since they opened back in 2020. During the Covid shutdown, they became my go-to takeout. They used to write positive phrases and messages on their takeout containers to give people a sense of hope and love for the community. Once we were able to dine outside they opened a nice patio area in the parking lot and it was great. The Twins themselves are wonderful servers/hostesses and they also have a great staff of other servers as well. I am so glad they got through those times and still continue to offer great food to the neighborhood. Their menu is sort of a mix of New Orleans, Mexican and generic American breakfast dishes. They do everything pretty well! I am a big fan of their breakfast tacos as much as I love their beignets and French toast! They also have really good sandwiches at lunch! This morning, I had their breakfast tacos, which are very messy but delicious! My wife had their special omelette, which was stuffed with zucchini, spinach and feta cheese. I love supporting our local restaurants and I think they are worth a visit even if you are coming from out of town.

Great food great service I had the full order of biscuits and gravy and a side of crispy bacon, my wife had the two eggs plate with country potatoes and a biscuit with two extra sunny side up eggs. We got there as soon as it opened and started feeling up quick for a Monday and also got to meet one of the twins who was very sweet and talkative with all the guest. Definitely gonna make my way back and try out their chilaquiles.

Perfect place for a hearty meal. Service is friendly and they keep your coffee cup full. The country fried steak and eggs is delicious and tasty. Definitely coming back

The food here is a step above most diners. So happy to see this place is continuing to receive wonderful reviews. We arrived after the weekend rush and to our surprise, there were open tables! We normally sit outside but decided to sit in their dining room since it felt spacious and peaceful. It is comfortable and clean inside with some artwork on the wall. One of the sweet twins greeted us and invited us to take a seat of our choice. Their menu provides a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options plus a list of specials noted on the wall. My husband saw several things he wanted to try but finally narrowed it down. We decided to order: Eggplant breakfast - breaded eggplant with mushroom gravy, country potatoes, 2 eggs and enormous biscuit Tri tip benedict with bearnaise sauce (special of the day) Grilled chicken sandwich I spotted our server's twin! I wonder if they purposely dress the same to keep us guessing. lol ! They are both so cute and definitely one of the highlights of this place. Warm, welcoming, friendly and ready to help make your dining experience a pleasant and memorable one. They both work non-stop ensuring their guests are having a good time. Our server was refilling coffee, hot water for the tea and iced water without us having to even think about asking. Our dishes looked amazing but it tasted even better. I often order chicken sandwiches and this one was by far the best I've ever had. Honest! I loved the arugula, tomatoes, avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese with a lemon aioli sauce. The bun is not your typical bun. It is light but hearty and doesn't fall apart as you're trying to enjoy your sandwich. It was quite a lovely sandwich and I enjoyed the hand cut fries too. There was no way I could eat the second half, so lucky me I have leftovers for tomorrow. Our server did mention that the chicken sandwich is one of their most popular dishes. My dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their lunches too. They said everything was seasoned well and tasted fresh and homemade. The tri tip was tender and the eggplant was prepared well and covered in a nice mushroom gravy. My husband really enjoyed his fluffy biscuit too with the homemade preserves. Our tummies were very satisfied and happy as we left. We are looking forward to returning and enjoying some of their other delicious creations. There are a half dozen tables outside on the sidewalk. Plenty of parking shared with other restaurants, shops and Oliver's Market.

Love, love, love this place. The food is delicious and plentiful. The staff is friendly and efficient. I come here anytime I'm in the area. Love the Benedict - lots of fresh cooked spinach on top of their homemade biscuits. One of the best Benedicts ever. Friend had the huevos and almost licked the plate. The BLT was huge and delicious as well.

We've been coming back to this area for a class once a month, and stopping here for breakfast has been a must to try a new plate. Service continues to nice and lively. Overall, it's a pleasant and welcoming experience each time and the food is delish.

    Crab Louie Salad.

Fantastic local Cotati restaurant! Crab Louie salad was fresh and delicious. My husband had the crab melt on sourdough, and he loved it too!

Went specifically for the waffle with real maple syrup. It was tender inside and crispy on the outside, Flavor was good. The staff are very friendly and service was attentive.

Chicken Fried Steak. Really good but different

Awesome service! Small homely restaurant with great food. Portions were huge. They had so many of my favorites, so we will be back if in the neighborhood again.

    Chilaquiles rojo with chorizo

Second time here and everything was wonderful. The place was packed when we arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday morning but we snagged a table outside under the awning. It was a chilly day but they had ample outdoor heaters that made things comfortable. Husband ordered the chilaquiles rojo and added chorizo, and I went for their two egg breakfast ($10 and comes with two eggs your way, breakfast potatoes, and a slice of toast or biscuit). I opted to go for the $3 up charge for a sausage patty. Where can you get a full breakfast for $13 these days?! Service throughout our meal was outstanding and the food was great. This isn't your typical breakfast/lunch diner- their food is crafted with great care and love and it shows. I was pleasantly surprised when my plate arrived with not one but two sausage patties (was only charged for one). These were clearly house made and were delicious. Their homemade jam was stellar!! As the restaurant is named for the two twin sisters who own the place, they always give a little extra treatment to any twins who might come in. We were seated next to a family who had twin girls, maybe 4ish. The owners brought out a big wooden sign that said "The Twins" and photographed the girls holding it. I believe they keep a photo wall of each of these inside. The whole thing was adorable to watch. What a great way to make your customers feel valued. We happened to be visiting on their 5th anniversary and they had us fill out these little cards with our info- they're doing a raffle and will be giving certain items away. Thought that was a fun touch. The energy here is a lot of fun and the food is really great. We live in Santa Rosa so this place isn't super close but it's definitely worth a special trip. Highly recommend!

OK we are from out of the area and we needed a breakfast place and this sounded weird (alcoholic…read moredrinks in the morning?) but it was close. So we gave it a try. I was expecting to feel blah about it. As we went in I saw they named the chef on the outside window, and I thought hmm, interesting. Going in we were greeted by the hostess whose smile was a little too deliberate, maybe it's a required smile enforced by the bosses which can sometimes not be the best feels for the customer. Bosses, please don't do that. But still she was nice and we were seated and helped quickly. They have a great menu with lots of enticing options, it was looking good already. Then we found out they had crab cake eggs benedict! So I skipped out on my other options, pancakes or huevos rancheros, and we split that. The prices seemed kind of high but then where is that not the case these days? Given the feel of the place it seemed fair to me. The food came and it was amazing. Generous amount of crab and it was real crab, with perfect eggs and sauce on a gorgeous english muffin that was... stay with me here I'm not trying to get fancy with prose here, let me just reuse what I said above: amazing. Somehow the muffin was both crisply toasted in butter to a crunch on top (of the muffin), yet amazingly chewy (in a good way) on the bottom. And not soggy, the sauce was well placed on top of the egg above the crab cake. The service was friendly and in all ways perfect. Food came quickly. The place was not noisy or perfumey. My only regret is I can only tell you about that one dish since that's what we shared. I was too full to finish the little smash-grilled baby potato discs so we took some to go. All in all it was fantastic. We will go again next time we are in town. They did try to sell mimosas to us (at 8:30 am lol) but nah we did not go for it.

It looked like they ground their meat in house, but I forgot to ask so don't quote me on that. It was cooked a PERFECT medium rare topped with bacon, Cambazola, fig jam and frisse, served on a soft yet sturdy brioche style bun. The shoestring fries were like crack, super addictive, I couldn't stop! The wife had the steak frites, and it might be our new favorite restaurant for that dish. Steak was cooked ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY!! Fries were out of control good. No notes! Nice craft cocktail menu, short but well curated wines by the glass list, and the bartender had a heavy hand with those pours. Had a few oysters on the half shell as an appetizer, and we split the fried green tomatoes too. Those were topped with fresh shaved corn and a cilantro cream.l.with a few cherry tomatoes for color. So good. The atmosphere is old school speak easy vibe. Classy but casual. It's a small restaurant and the bar is front and center but they have a few tables outside for when the weather is nice. Our server was incredibly friendly, and the entire room shared the same warm, easygoing vibe. The small, speakeasy themed space was already packed at 5 PM, so reservations seem like a must. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and delicious, but the standout dishes were the beet salad and the shrimp & grits. The beet salad had a perfect mix of textures; chopped pistachios, tender beets, and crunchy radishes over a pillowy ricotta. I finished the salad wishing there was more. The shrimp & grits featured a potlikker sauce that absolutely lived up to the hype; it made the dish. I wish the shrimp & grits were served in a bowl rather than a shallow dish. I found myself chasing the sauce and polenta around the plate, trying not to push it over the edge. That said, if it were in a bowl, I might have just drank the sauce, so perhaps this is the restaurant's way of preserving a bit of dignity for its guests. Next time, I'm hoping to visit when oyster po' boys and fried green tomatoes are on the menu.
