Bad experience here. A worker at the store (older gentleman) was so rude to me when I was asking about how to ship a document. Really uncalled for. I was just asking questions and his attitude was extremely unprofessional. Also he described some other customers as "those Indians"... not ok at all. Very disappointed with such poor customer service. Went to FedEx nearby and they answered all my questions and were super friendly and helpful. read more

AVOID THIS LOCATION! Not hyperbole, not a joke but this has to be by far the worst UPS store ever. My last ten visits to this location the line is always ten deep! Most of those individuals were simply dropping off packages and wanting a tracking label. What in Hades is this operation doing? Clearly he/she doesn't have enough manpower, refuses to hire staffing or just isn't willing to pay a fair wage. It takes a lot to make the local DMV look efficient but the Rand Road UPS Store Location is doing yeoman's work. Be sure to pack a lunch and inform your loved ones! read more

They will break your items and not compensate you for them. Buyer beware... I just want to share my story so everyone knows what snakes the people who work/own the 2 Arlington Heights locations (Rand Road & Wing Street) and UPS as a whole. First off, let me start by saying that I am just a regular person. I don't own a small business, I don't normally sell items online, and I don't have a need to ship things regularly. My assumption would be that this is a fair percentage of a UPS Store's customer base, but after my interactions with several employees, I guess that they assume that we are all shipping mavens. I was decided that I was going to upgrade my turntable and wanted to sell my current one to help offset the cost of the new one. I posted it on a used HiFi website and after 5-6 weeks, it finally sold for $1,000 with shipping included (meaning that I would cover those costs). The retail on the item is $1,995, and despite being a few years old, they are still selling for that at retailers. Since the item was very valuable, I kept the original packaging that it came in. Now, these items are typically shipped on pallets, so there wasn't a shipping carton (the outer box), but there were fitted foam inserts and instructions on how to unpack and re-package the items. As this particular turntable has moved with me several times, I was very familiar with how to properly package the components. I took this box to the UPS Store on Rand Road and was greeted by a short young man and a very tall old man. I explained the item and the value, as well as opened the box to show them the sensitive nature of what was inside. I asked that they package the box that I brought inside of a shipping box for further protection. Despite the fact that I mentioned the value of the item and the delicate nature, I was not offered to purchase insurance (this is important later). As I mentioned earlier, I don't normally ship things. This is maybe the 3rd time that I have ever needed to ship a package and always in the original packaging. A few days later, I received an email from a very upset buyer (furnished to UPS via the employee named Rand) that the item was damaged upon arrival and that he was going to submit a dispute with PayPal to get a refund. After multiple investigations with PayPal, I decided to submit the claim with UPS, who directed me to the UPS Store that I shipped from. After explaining the situation to Rand over the phone, I was instructed to email evidence to the UPS Store email address. I provided photos of the undamaged turntable (dated 2/6/2019), the classified ad where the item was purchased from, the bill of sale (dated 3/20/2019), angry messages from the buyer stating that the item was damaged and not packaged properly (dated 3/26/2019) photos of the returned turntable with the damages incurred in shipping (dated 4/1/2019), a police report with a detailed description of the damages incurred (by the Arlington Heights Police Department dated 4/19/2019), along with other classified ads of the sold item and the replacement costs (via multiple sources) for the 2 items that were specifically damaged. Note that it is now 7/11/2019 and UPS has, insultingly, just now offered me just under $130 for my $1,995 turntable that I sold for $1,000 (not including the cost to ship [$80] and post the ads [$60]). Well, I am actually not sure that UPS actually offered me such a lowball amount or if it was the owner of these 2 stores Patrick Casey (Casey Connection, Inc - https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrick-casey-97194a163/). When I received the "paperwork" for the claim that they filed on my behalf, I noticed some irregularities. First off, they only asked for the replacement part, not the sale price, which is what I would have sold the item for, if not for Patrick Casey's employee's negligence. So instead of asking for $1,000 from UPS, they only asked for $90 + $595 + $75.35 (11% tax) = $760.35. Had that been the offer, fine, I could fix my turntable and re-sell it, but for that to be what you start off asking for? That's BS. The second thing that I noticed was the gross lack of evidence that I had sent to Rand at store4073@theupsstore.com. I saw the email that referenced the replacement items but didn't see much else there. I send emails, with evidence, 3 times on 5/9/2019, 5/16/2019, 5/17/2019, 3 times on 5/21/2019, 6/4/2019, 2 times on 6/18/2019, and follow ups on 7/5/2019 and 7/9/2019 for additional information. Lastly, and the thing that really sticks in my craw is that one of the employees included a check stub from UPS, which didn't include a dollar amount, but the insulting check for under $130 was from Casey Connections, Inc. Did Patrick Casey receive the requested amount of $760.35 and pocket the difference? The old guy who works here always has a miserable attitude, and refuses to open 1 minute early or close 1 minute late. Unacceptable attitude in the service industry. Negative experience EVERY time I have dealt with him. read more

Usually, I'm too lazy to find a box and pack a larger-than-normal item and mail it out. Luckily, there's the UPS store. Whenever I need something bigger than a letter mailed out I like to "see what brown can do for me." Of the times I've visited this store - the gentlemen working are very courteous and knowledgeable. I truly believe they realize they are not the least expensive option out there but they are convenient. You'll pay a little more to go here than the post office but I'll pay the extra couple of bucks for ease of mind and to not feel like everyone around me is angry. So, if you've a package to ship and don't mind the little extra to pay - I say check out this UPS store. Nice guys, quick service. They also offer other services like PO boxes and printing, I believe but I only go to ship things. read more

I read horrible reviews of this place somewhere else, and I have to disagree so far. I frequent this place about twice a week due to the nature of some work I'm doing. I have prepaid labels, so really, I'm just handing the package to the guy and trusting him to do his job. After about two weeks, the guy recognizes me, greets me with a smile, makes some idle chit chat, double checks the shipping label, then does whatever he does to ensure my package arrives at it's destination the following day. So, I don't utilize their services to the fullest, I know, but the interactions I have there are always positive. Always upbeat and knowledgeable service workers. They always give me the best rate for whatever I am shipping; if it doesn't need to be there right away, they give me UPS ground and USPS options. Also, I returned Comcast equipment there 2 weeks ago and was able to get an email notification when it shipped and delivered. Very helpful! read more

We have shipped from this store at least 50 times; they even packed and sent some antique china to a fussy client. It arrived with no concerns. I paid the standard UPS rate that guaranteed safe delivery, but I checked the prices and FedEx would have been more money. A couple of times they advised me of ways to save money when I ship too; this makes me believe they are ethical. When I ship, my 8 year old son wants to go with me; the cashier struck up a conversation with him, so he thinks she is cool. I go back to this store all the time. read more

I have a P.O. Box here. Yes it's pricey but that's not the employee's fault--a mgmt. issue I suppose. They always go out of their way to assist, asking if I have packages they should check for in the back, etc. They always say "Hello" as well, so overall a good experience. read more

Stay away from this store. Brought an amplifier in to ship and pack and paid $130+ on Thursday. I thought that was a crazy high price and I took a hit on my eBay sale profits but oh well, I had a tracking number and a satisfied customer. Well, UPS store called me Friday to say oh, we made a mistake, actually that will cost $272 to ship, so pay now. Really! As those who sell on eBay know, you can't make a deal, send a tracking number and reneg the next day without huge negative feedback. Stay away - rates are insane, they lie here, are rude, and could care less about the customer. read more

I was extremely dissatisfieded with my most resent shipping experience. I had gone in on a Saturday with packages that needed to be sent to San Jose, CA. One of the packages arrived on Friday as expected. The other did not. That package contained an oil painting. When I brought it in I told him the sides were wet. That is why I brought wax paper to wrap the sides. The man told me, he would ship it Monday, giving the painting some extra time to dry, I said fine as long as it gets there by Friday. I would be in San Jose and be able to sign by name. It did not arrive Friday or Saturday, so I called only to fine out he did not go out until Tuesday. He said, it was still too wet to ship. I asked why did not all me, he said they did know they had to call. If there was a change in the date of shipping they should have notified me. I said to the man that now it needs to be sent back to Arlington Heights, for my signature and back to San Jose. They I told him since my nephew will be back in Chicago he would take back. That is when they told me they told me that they would not pay for sending it. I told him he now lost a customer. I will to a different UPS store. read more
