The worst customer experience of my life. I have an insane delivery driver, and a supervisory staff which backs him up. Takes it upon himself to take my shipments off the truck because he has some grudge with the shipper. Inserts fake problems, i.e. customs problems on domestic shipments, statements that I refused shipments and now since I've called them out are holding shipments for "audit". The UPS customer service representative stated the hub was shut down and closed. What a terrible example this place is for UPS. As I sit and wait for a lost package during the ridiculous operating hours of between 7:30-11am and 5-9pm, I can hear everything from their sketchy employees arguing about their jobs to all the many irritated customers who had lost packages or failed deliveries. Sitting uncomfortably in a plastic chair in the corner of the store, I wait. Dimly lit fluorescent lights give off an uncomfortable ambiance in the building. I sure hope you don't get stuck here waiting for a package. Now that at least 3 of my packages and countless others from local family members have been "lost" at this facility, I am pretty positive they must be STOLEN. No one seems to care about finding them. It is just plain awful thievery. Also bad-receiving email after email stating my package is "on its way", with a specific delivery date and time and then it just never appears. Worst service , we happened to have left to pick up baby formula and the driver decided not leave the package we we are leaving on a trip in the morning and that was a key part of the trip. UPS as a service is going thru a tumultuous downward spiral. They are sacrificing customer care for profits. which is not a sustainable model. yet again the ups man didn't wait for 60 seconds after ringing my door bell. the call center charged us money to have him come back, no one showed up. the IVR told us being a corporate client someone will call you back, no calls in the last 24 hrs. the door sticker said they will try delivery on next delivery day. I'm seeing UPS trucks all over but my package hasn't been delivered yet. It's a UPS hub with a customer reception area. A huge plus is placing your package directly into the distribution chain with extended hours until 9pm! They have supplies (e.g boxes, envelopes, and bubble wrap, and tape); however, some are in constantly short supply (medium UPS express boxes) The reception area is aging and badly needs an update. However, the service makes up for drab atmosphere by being very engaged and helpful. I had to deduct one more star due to a peculiar requirement to check the contents of a package when it's insured over $1k. When UPS driver picks up a package there is never an inspection; when I drop it off and show my id, the inspection is required! Now, when I have a high value package, I need to leave it unopened, and close it afterwards-very inconvenient. read more

I've been picking up my packages here for the last 10 - 15 years---their hours and service are both great; never had a problem with UPS! I buy a ton of things on eBay--many of them are on the high-end side; this UPS location has never broken any of my items. They make shipping and picking up packages so smooth and seamless (also in part, thanks to the user-friendly UPS website)! Wish I could say the same for Fed Ex(don't even get me started)! WOW, The driver had time to leave a note on the door but did not ring the doorbell??? Who does this? My granddaughter is waiting patiently for this package and now customer service will not connect me to a live agent! He had the time to write down the address where we could go pick it up BUT not until 24 hours later! Horrible customer service. I have been trying to get a package delivered for 5 days now because an incompetent driver left a delivery slip at the door of my four-unit condo building with only a unit number, not my last name. We don't use unit numbers: its not even on the package! I had no idea the package was for me until I contacted the shipper in concern. And the driver didn't even bother to attempt redelivery. I'm supposed to go to a pick up center. I don't think so. I have packages shipped to my house because I don't have time to go to stores. After calling UPS corporate the situation was directed here. I was told I would receive the package last night (Monday). When it didn't arrive I called back here and was told by Leonard that the driver hadn't bothered to go to the pick up center (his words) to get the package, so now it won't be delivered until Tuesday. No apology, no "how can we fix this?" ... simply a "it sucks to be you" attitude. I called corporate back and was told they would contact this facility and try to get the package delivered Monday, and I would at least get a phone call. I'm still waiting on that phone call. Leonard doesn't seem to be particularly responsive. UPS service has gotten progressively worse in the past few years, and I will go out of my way to avoid using them ever again. The worst customer service by far - no one one close to this !!! So, I have a next day air package that was supposed to be delivered Tuesday. On Tuesday, it shows "Out for Delivery" and I am excited to get it...guess what? At about 10PM, they say "Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed. / Delivery will be rescheduled". Today, yeah well you can guess it...the same freaking thing. So I call customer service and it is the rudest possible experience. She just said oh well, folks shopped a lot on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and there was a storm blah blah blah....I know there was a storm on Sunday night into Monday morning (oh by the way, I did get a package delivered Monday night by UPS). And I have been going into work every day - so I know the roads are A-okay. Like I said stuff happens,but you prioritize the delivery for the next day to be among the top and not have this happen over and over again. For some who think I am being overly critical, this has happened for 5 packages and in the meantime, I have had Fedex, USPS deliver my stuff on time (and also UPS deliver something on Monday - that was supposed to be delivered Saturday of course but at least within a business day). Yah, just that, at first I almost got this place confused with the one on E Dundee. I was on that page and I was like, why such high rating? This place is their fulfillment center, if you have a package you did not pick up, was delivered and you were not home, this is where you need to go pick it up if you live nearby. Walking into this place was a bit sketchy, kinda like walking into a jail. Old, dark, and questionable people. I got there, they could not located my package!!? I was just called 1 hour ago saying my package was ready to pick up. Turns out the lady was looking at something wrong in the system. Then another lady was setting up to ask me to sign for the package, took her forever to set that signature system up and she kept having problem. I think logistics is KEY at any shipping carrier, I just don't see how they can get things right with so many mistakes. read more

There are so many things wrong with this place, though I am forced to come here because UPS does not allow the shipping of firearms or ammo through its UPS Stores, only Customer Centers (for whatever asinine reason). They do not have the ability to package items for you, therefore you have to go to a UPS Store to get it boxed up BEFORE heading to the Customer Center to ship it. This makes shipping anything firearm related a huge hassle. To top it all off, they ban the carry of concealed sidearms for those licensed by the Illinois State Police. I am very grateful to Tiffany Tryba who managed to track very expensive packages that almost went missing for nearly 3 days with the recent rains. Foolishly we didn't take a note of several shipments and she managed to track them. Had to come pick up my package, which they only attempted to deliver once to my home, from the actual store. I went inside and they told me my package was outside in a locker bin. I had to go outside in -7° wind chill temp to open up this locker that no one came to assist me with. My main issue is that thing is a $10,000 medical insulin pump for my child which has been from my knowledge outside for 3 days in sub zero temps. Even when I woke up your people at the palatine store they couldn't even get it right. Let alone they are trying to tell me my dl is invalid because of covid even tho it's been extended. This place constantly ruins my packages (including today). Often the box will be damaged, and whatever is inside is usually damaged. One time they delivered a wood storage cabinet in a new box way too big for what was inside, because it looked like a forklift literally drove over the original box (there were tire marks on the wood). If that's not enough, often if a package is out for delivery in the morning, and the driver doesn't feel like working overtime to deliver everything, he'll just drive back without delivering it and save it for the next day. When I lived in itasca in an apartment 20 years ago, because they couldn't leave packages at my door I would have to drive over there to pick it up, and I would sometimes wait 90 minutes for them to "track it down". For some reason, UPS doesn't leave Amazon packages at our door (I live in a coach home). We were planning to leave for my brother's surprise birthday party (in SC) right after receiving a delivery (a gift for my brother) that the driver simply chose not to leave. The order was for a gift on a big event this weekend but it doesnt arrived on time. Absolute laziest and scummiest UPS. Ordered a package from Besy Buy on Sunday for delivery Tuesday. Was home all day but they made no attempt to deliver and claimed I wasnt home. Called and was on hold for 20 minutes. They told me they will send my package out again and Iconfirmed my full address. On Wednesday they claimed the package address was incomplete and undeliverable. How is that possible when I confirmed my address with them over the phone? Gave them my address again, and they told me this Palatine UPS Office would call me back. They claimed my package was missing the apartment number. I confirmed with them again and they sent it out to be delivered Thursday. They just left in my apartment hallway despite me asking them to ring the bell or knock. I inspect the package and see a new address sticker applied over the old "incorrect" one. I decide to peel the sticker back, and lo and behold, these lying scum had my full address and just didnt want to do their jobs. This office is filled with the laziest of liars. They do not care. I went out to look for it and guess what??? It wasn't there. This is by far the worst UPS location in Palatine ,IL and how they handle clients. My order was delayed for few days , then when I called I was told that my order was lost. I asked for a supervisor and was advised that my package is not lost and will be delivered next day.... that never happened. I had to call ups again ( 4th time in one week, was on hold for more than 30 min each time ) and was told my order is on the way back to the shipper and they could not explain what the problem was , even though my address and information is correct.
