DON'T GO HERE!! They are total rip-off. Yesterday my wife and I were going to the USS Midway and I bought tickets online. All I needed was them to be printed out in black-and-white. Usually I go to the FedEx in downtown La Jolla but since I was heading south I went to this UPS store. As instructed I emailed the attachment to them prior to leaving my home. When I got there they weren't print it out and when she did do it she printed both tickets on one piece of paper. After correcting that she then told me it was $2.00 for two printouts. I was in shock not because of the money but because of the gall to rip people off. The FedEx in downtown La Jolla charges $.16 per copy. All I can say is beware, if she would rip me off for just printing, imagine what she's doing on bigger jobs. I advise you to shop around and do what I didn't, ask for the price before she does it. read more

I took a very important letter to be mailed certified and needed to be received by a specific date to be mailed. Paid for certified mail and postage and thought I had done what was needed only to find my letter delivered to my house on the due date saying " postage due". Cost me late fees and legal hassles Can not believe they were so incompetent that they forgot to put the postage on my mail. They over charge and can not even remember to do what you pay for. Avoid this place as plague. This is my third and last time here. Every time I need to wait for the service provider's attention, even if there is nobody else at the store. But the last drop is that they will scam you to use unnecessary services and charge for them. Need to print out a few BW pages for thumbstick - advertised price is 0.15$ ! WRONG!!! They will charge you for using the computer, so in the end you will pay 1.5$ per BW page. Hope they'll go out of business and UPS find better vendors to put their brand on it. read more

There is plenty of shipping options in this are so keep on going and don't stop here. Have given this business at least five opportunities but really is a lost cause. Main lady at business perhaps owner is super rude and curt. Has Zero customer service skills and is also very dubious. This location is closest to me for my business shipping needs but I don't mind driving an extra mile to at least get some appreciation for being a patron and not be treated like a nuisance. read more

It took me 40 min to send 2 packages which were already packaged and labeled. The cost was very high but I figured there's no way UPS can cheat me so it must be right. 3 weeks later, I sent my teenage son there to ship a small box which weighed 1/2 pd. Again, ripped off completely! I actually accused my son of lying until he showed me the receipt! I live 2 blocks from here but usually go to the post office by my office. Looks like I'll always have to do that because this place literally charges twice the cost. How they get away with it is beyond me. They should be investigated for fraud. read more

Wow. If you could give less than one star I would. I called 3 times this morning to get some help printing out business cards. Holy crap. Nothing was ever more complicated. After the third time calling they finally admitted that they could only give me a few cards. What does that mean. A couple is usually and a few is three. I called the fedex in La Jolla. Refused to give a receipt for an ATT drop off, after waiting was told that I would get an email...what if I didn't get an email...how could I prove I dropped it off??? Life has taken me to many cities, and I've used many shipping/mailbox places along the way. At every one of them, if even one customer is in front of you mailing a package, it can be a frustrating wait. That's because there are many steps involved in mailing a package; it's not like simply buying a stamp. So for those Yelpers who are complaining about long wait times here, you'll find the same thing everywhere else--it just depends on your timing. But at least this place has easy parking, and it's the only one in the area that does. All these places charge about the same, and of course it's more than you would pay if you stood in line at the post office instead. That's because these shipping places are independently-owned small businesses, and this is how they make a profit. If they charged you the same as what UPS, USPS or FedEx charges them, or if they charge just a couple dollars more, how would they pay the rent or feed their kids? Like everything else, you pay for convenience. As for the negative reviews about customer service, I've been coming here regularly for years and always receive excellent service. No, I wasn't paid to write this review, and I don't even know the owner's name, but I do know she speaks perfect English, contrary to what one reviewer wrote. The only time I've ever seen her (or anybody else in there) give less than stellar service to a customer, it's because they deserved it. Some people come in there with an unpackaged item they want to return with a prepaid shipping label, then they expect these guys to package the item, tape it up, and even print the label all at no cost! Then they throw a fit and write a poor review when the merchant refuses!!! So if you want to return something to Amazon with a prepaid label, be considerate. Box it up yourself, print the label at home, and tape it all up before you get there. Then they'll happily receive your package and give it to the UPS guy for you. Oh, and as for the quality of their packaging, don't hold these guys responsible when your box arrives looking like it was drop kicked off the wing of the plane and run over by a forklift. They do an amazing job of packaging fragile items, but what happens after that is not their responsibility. Buy insurance. read more

If you would like to be the victim of thievery go to this UPS store. They quote you prices far too high for the dimensions and weight of your shipments and hope that it will go unnoticed. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. In favor of this abhorrent location, I patronize the UPS store on Garnett Avenue and Lamont - at this nearby location the employees are sincere, clear and effective. The store on La Jolla Blvd. (store ID number 0003) is not only run by a rude, dishonest and unhelpful woman named Nimisha (If you would like to get yelled at and/or berated for having an opinion on the manner in which you would like to ship she's your girl!) but they overcharge and are deceptive in their practices. My reasonable request for clarification regarding a very much OVERCHARGED item (for the second time) was met with vehement, uninterrupted scolding by the owner NIMISHA. read more

I never thought to check Yelp for a UPS store, but I wish I had! The woman who helped me is very dishonest. She told me a medium sized flat rate box would cost $25 to ship. I asked her if she charges more than the post office, and she said no. I left, went to the post office, and mailed it off for $12.50. She was asking for double?! What a scam. Had the worst experience of my life with this shop. I had them ship my 55inch flat screen up to the Bay Area. Cost was over $370 which I thought would be cheaper than just purchasing a new one or having to drive it up north. Well as you can guess, the TV made it up on time but when i opened the packaging, the screen has been broken into a number of pieces. In addition I had to pay a salvage company a fee to cart the tv away and ended up having to buy a new tv on top of that. I'll never use this place again. read more

Phoned the day before and they said no problem, $1 per pound. "we open at 9am". Arrived at 9am to have shredding done, turned out to be over 300 .bs. Well, they were not in yet, went to breakfast at Beaumonts came back, not in yet. Killed some more time came back 9:48 two ladies just opening. "sorry we are a few minutes late, be right with you." turned their backs to us trying to get some machine working, both of them. We finally left at 10:00 on the dot and they still had not bothered to even turn towards us and acknowledge our presence. Wow. Drove another 1.6 miles to the UPS store on Gerrard and spent our $300 with them. Very friendly and attentive over there. Busy too, many loyal regulars were there, but we still got served fast and friendly. For my money ($300) I go there. Otherwise, plan for breakfast, lunch, and maybe dinner before you get acknowledged. Maybe it will be fun that way read more

I can see why this UPS location was voted "Best in 2011"! I recently had to be fingerprinted for a license I was obtaining in Arizona along with a document which needed to be notarized with a next day delivery. I visited the UPS store in Bird Rock and was completely satisfied with the service. I no sooner got back to South Mission only to find I needed the same form in typed version notarized. I headed to Fed Ex to print the document and attempted to have the document notarized at three different postal locations only to find the notary's had gone home for the day and this was at 3 PM in the afternoon. I realized I was better off driving to the UPS store in Bird Rock because I knew Nimisha, the owner, would be there to notarize my document. And, she was! What I didn't realize is I could have downloaded the document there as well. One stop service- that's what it's all about! Thanks Nimisha! read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Can you give negative stars? my company was charged $80.70 for NEXT DAY AIR to ship something from San Diego to Orange County. Why would I ship something for $80 that can get there the SAME DAY via ground shipping for roughly $15? The answer is NO ONE choose option one UNLESS THEYRE TRYING TO PURGE THEIR MONEY. To make matters worse, I called to ask for clarification (seemingly reasonable refund for a misunderstanding or miscommunication) and was berated by the owner, Namisha, for my apparent wrongdoing (attempting to send a package at the most reasonable, logical rate - which, by the way, we do on a every-other-day basis as we ship at least 5 times per week- hence, why our record shows we have NEVER HAD NOR WANTED TO PAY FOR NEXT DAY AIR). When my boss realized I was near tears due to Namisha's relentless verbal assault, he took the phone. He was also yelled at to the point where I could hear her clearly reprimanding him through the phone on the other side of the room. I have complained to UPS corporate and I will continue to do so and redirect business anywhere else for the sake of humanity and general decency. Do not use this store. read more
