We went to this store for notary. We made our notary file based on our best understanding but when we were at the store, we were told that it should be OK although some state gov officers may be picky with the language not being fully standardized. Then we asked to correct the files on my laptop and reprint. They agreed to print with their equipments for no additional charge. They only charged us for the notary service. I usually like this store but there is one lady who consistently manages to destroy the store's image. She's rude, brusque and unhelpful. I don't know her name but you will definitely know who I'm talking about it if you walk into the store. Wow. Never thought I would write a negative review for a UPS Store. One would think a simple "pack and ship" would be something "easy." Not so. The counter assistants -- 3 women -- all seemed "bothered" about my concern with ensuring the packing was sufficient to project an expensive item. I had to literally insist they pack the item in front of me just given the incessant "eye rolling" that was going on when I expressed my concern. If it wasn't for the more experienced Asian gentleman, who wound up coming to the rescue, I would have simply gone to the competition. Take note: If you want customer service, this ISN'T the place. Decent service, fair prices.....Nobody likes to pay money for shipping, this place makes it as pain free as possible. They only charged me $5 to pack up my box for me and everything arrived safe and on time. Worth it in my book to be able to walk in with your item, get change back from a $20, and let them box and tape it. They usually only have one register open so there can be lines sometimes. But they are much shorter, and easier, than the post office! I'll be back! read more

I went here to get my passport photos taken. They had a hand held camera and the woman who took my photo made my head too big and cut off my hair. The photos were dark and I could have done a better job myself than these people. Waste of money. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. If you have a package sent to this store (Not through UPS My Choice) they will charge a $10 receiving fee. 10 freaking dollars to accept a package for one of their customers. Came here yesterday to mail a small package. It was convenient to where I was parked and I stopped by. They were also displaying their "People love us on Yelp" sticker! I wouldn't say the service was exactly friendly or very fast, but adequate enough. They have a variety of shipping and packaging supplies in the store as well as copy machines an notary service available. They offer USPS and FedEx services in addition. I was asked to fill out a form assuming I would be using UPS although I chose USPS as it was half the price. I think the process could be more efficient if they would ask the desired service, quote a price for each offered after weighing/measuring the package instead of having you fill out a form that will have to be torn up if you don't use UPS. Just my thoughts. Overall, a convenient place to ship a package and make copies, etc. read more

Had a very positive customer service experience. The guy that was helping me went out of his way to find a reasonably priced method to ship my item. He even saved me money by finding a smaller box that kept my shipment under a certain size limit. All in all, very happy with the end result. read more

This place takes the dread out of my shipping and office needs. I needed to scan and email a document- I was running errands near the UPS store off Showers and figured eh this is right here ill just go to this one- it reminded me why I go to the Castro Store. Their scanner was broken-store was dingy and staff had no clue. Fast forward to this store and they asked me how they could help as I walked in the door, scanned my doc which automatically popped up on the floor laptop and opened up the browser so I could easily email it from my own account. They easily could've charged me for the laptop use but just charged for the scan- this place won't nickel and dime you and has great customer service every time I've been in. I'm not surprised about the bad reviews for this location. I came here for passport photos. After I paid and walked out with my photos, I realized they were not within guidelines and they might not be approved by the passport agency, so I went back into the store. One of the employees, maybe the manager, agreed the picture should be retaken so I had to go through the process again. I asked if I could keep the first set of pictures since they were only going to throw them out. They said they would have to charge me double if I took the first set (even though they were unusable for passport purposes). Seriously awful customer service. There are plenty of UPS locations around, skip this one. They are incompetent and not customer friendly. read more

This UPS store is the best! I work on Castro so the location is convenient but it's also located next to Starbucks and El Camino. Whenever I need to mail something important or buy a box, I can rely on this place. They always greet me with a smile and willing to help with whatever I need. On one occasion, my office needed to borrow a paper cutter so I made a trip over to see if they had one to borrow. They were sooo helpful & gave us their portable paper cutter to use! (Talk about amazing customer service). They're such a great addition to all of the businesses and shops on Castro. I'd recommend this store to anyone! read more

I got my LiveScan done here for my notary test. It was pretty efficient and done quickly. The woman doing my Scan seemed to know what she was doing. This is the closest UPS Store to my house and I have also dropped things off and mailed things from here with no problems. Depending on the time of day, parking can be an issue. read more

This location is right downtown, so while it's helpful - the parking sucks unless the parking gods decide to magically open up a spot in front. But walking in, it's exactly what you expect: clean, organized, bustling and a handful of staff members. The girl who I dropped off my package to was super friendly with a big smile - so nice. She was helpful and asked if I needed a receipt for tracking. Thoughtless me- I did! So, I was in, out and on my way. Luckily too it's downtown so I could grab some lunch too. Workers here are efficient and friendly. Parking can be a bit hard at times, but it is worth it to avoid dealing with the incredibly rude staff at the San Antonio UPS Store. This UPS store is at a great location -- downtown Mountain View. It's surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants. The staff here is very nice and they know what they're doing. Very helpful. They also do notary, so that is also very convenient. They know their long time customers by name, like in Cheers. It's decently priced -- and I don't understand one of the yelpers mentioning a charge for holding a package that should be picked up on time. It's not the UPS store, it's the UPS Corporation! I veto that yelp if that's allowed. I've only seen this place get crowded during lunch hours, and I've visited here quite often. Other than the lunch hours, parking in front of the store or the near by restaurants are usually available. Quick and courteous service, and convenient location. No negatives here. read more

UPS is the utmost unreliable courier on earth! I mailed several very important documents through this UPS store. I mailed it on a Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, & store clerk said it will be delivered on Jan. 29, 2018. Long story short, UPS itself LOST MY PACKAGE! The UPS store manager said I would get my money back but I have not received anything as of writing, though at one point I told him I am not interested with the money, I want UPS to retrieve my package!!!!. He even offered me a free overnight UPS delivery for my documents if I could gather them again. NO WAY, Jose! UPS is the utmost unreliable courier on earth! This UPS store, efficiently run with personalized and friendly service by the Choi family, was the savior to our chronically lost (or misdirected) mail when living in a large apartment complex in downtown Mt. View . We rented a small private mail box more than a year ago and have been in postal-bliss heaven ever since. Gone are the days of lost mail and returned packages. Happy are the family and friends who now are able to send snail-mail and packages to us without the aid of Harry Potter's messenger owl Hedwig. The store's convenient location on Castro Street (next to Le Boulanger and near Starbucks) makes mail and package pick-ups/ drop-offs easy. Parking tip: park on High School Way or in the parking lot behind Le Boulanger rather than battling Castro Street traffic at peak hours. read more

I went to the store to finish up a medical license application. I needed a passport photo, notary, photocopies, and shipping. Michelle Choi tended to me, and she was friendly and efficient. When she took my photo, she let me see it first, for approval, before printing. She did my notary, and then entered the address for the shipping label while I was attaching my photo to my application with the glue stick she provided to me. I told her I needed to make copies of the application before sending it off, so she took it and made copies of everything for me, instead of making me fumble with everything to go over to the copier. After going over my checklist and making sure everything I needed was there, she printed my label, I confirmed it, and she put everything in the envelope and sealed it up. I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes, maybe even 10. Michelle was very nice, and obviously knew what she was doing. I was highly satisfied with the quick and professional service I received! read more

Notary service is worse than useless. They don't notarize forms in a way that the government will accept.

Can't thank them enough for coming to my father's house to notarize a document for him!! We needed a Korean speaking notary because my father doesn't speak English fluently, and my father was not physically well enough to make a trip to the store. Although there are plenty of mobile notary services out there, I couldn't find one that spoke Korean. By chance I found out that they have a Korean speaking notary who'd be willing to visit my father at home. She was punctual, efficient, and very friendly. Thank you!! read more

The store attendant charged me $1 to tape up my box for an amazon return. I didn't think much of it at the time.. but afterwards I did a little research and found that the UPS store already earns a commission for amazon returns taken, and that $1 charge shouldn't have been charged! Come to think of it - I've never been charged $1 for taping up MY box for an amazon return. I will never be returning to this UPS store, that's no way to do business. read more

I have called this store three times during business hours and they have not answered and their answering machine says that memory is full. I also had a terrible experience here with the employees. I brought in a large bench to be packaged and the employees quoted a certain price. After they packed my item, bench with legs, they brought me out a large box with the seat of the bench inside and left the legs out of the box. They did not do as I asked. They also proceeded to charge twice the amount they quoted without asking my permission. Do not visit this UPS store, go to the one on Castro St. Edited to add: we took the item back to the store to speak with the store manager. The store manager still did not package the item as we specified and did not give us the price that was quoted. He just explained that we didn't understand that the cost to package it was $45 and materials cost $30 but this information was never told to us. The girls at the counter said $45 and no mention of anything else. Horrible customer service, horrible prices. Save you money and sanity and go to fedex or the UPS on castro st. read more

I go here to get stuff notarized. This is one place where you can walk in and walk getting the job done. Other places will say oh the notary person will come in at a later hour so please come between 2 and 6 or something like that. But here it is available all the time since multiple folks are there to notarize the documents. Great service and they are fast too. Also great location for quick access. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service here. Agree with the user saying they'd give 0 stars if they could. I went to this store to notarize some documents and for passport size photos for me and my wife. I did my documents one day and paid upwards of $100 for few notarized copies and pictures (~$40 for 6 passport pictures and $10 for every notary document). Next day, we were doing this same thing for my wife (so another ~$100 of business for this store) and the passport picture didn't come out right so we asked the lady here if she could take the pictures again. The lady asked us to pay another $40 for new pictures! Apparently, the picture she had taken earlier were fine in her opinion and also they would be fine for an American passport so there should be no grounds for rejecting pictures. Then when I explained her that this isn't about American passport pictures but about professional courtesy to replace poor pictures, she unwillingly let the assistant take another picture for no cost. After all this she made sure that she takes back the copies of bad pictures from us ( as if we were trying to get cheep free copies of pictures from her) I will not go back here again. I am angry at the service I received and would complain to UPS if that will have any effect on this unacceptable level of service. read more

Unreasonably expensive. If you want to pack your own package, you have to buy an entire roll of tape and too many packing peanuts, despite them having just enough ready which they will not share with customers. This makes it cost roughly $20 to pack your own package, when the supplies actually used probably cost $1 or less. Go somewhere else. read more

Went here for a Live Scan, paid them for the service, and the female owner acted like she was doing me a favor when I pointed out that they made a mistake in filling out the Live Scan submission. After she finished my fingerprints and submitted them, I asked to review the information. She asked me why I didn't tell her before she submitted it. I replied, because she didn't give me a chance to. One of the fields was incomplete, and I didn't want there to be any delays in processing my Live Scan so I asked what could be done to fix it, and I asked her to follow up with me to let me know if the error was corrected or not. The female owner said simply and hostilely, that I was "asking too much." I left my phone number anyways and asked for a phone call. I paid for a service and got some extra attitude with it, and I never heard back from her. I don't feel like that's the way to run a business. read more
