Horrific management, terrible customer service. They charged us $300 to send 3 small packages that had two thin 4x5 framed pictures in them. Unfortunately it was my husband that brought them in. I went in the next day to explain their over charge, and they rudely said there was nothing they could do and that I should of been there for the transaction and not my husband. Apparently I should have checked the reviews before sending my print jobs here. DO NOT USE for any printing services you care about. Legal-sized orders, and even regular orders seem a challenge. There is only one very young and inefficient employee who can apparently use the printer. And not cheap, either. Two color orders, not more than ~30 pages almost $60, and not even a reasonable delivery time for that price - I've gone in twice now, and am hoping it'll finally be ready the 3rd time I show up, and it's been a week. read more

I've always had a good experience at this UPS. I've mostly come here for Amazon returns, drop off and to use the notary service. The staff has been really friendly, efficient and professional. I don't usually post reviews but I'm posting this review because the I'm seeing some bad reviews (which are not aligned with my experience), so want to make sure good reviews are also reflected as people are more likely to post a review when they have an extreme experience I.e very bad or exceptional. read more

8:10 am, no one is at the UPS store location even though they say they are open. What kind of business are they running here?

I dropped off a package, but they couldn't print a receipt because their system was down. Fine. I photographed my package on their counter just in case there was a problem. The woman working there then told me to take my package back and return in the afternoon. I don't have all day to spend dropping off a package, so I asked how far the next UPS store was. She rudely told me to google it. I did. The UPS store at 4096 Piedmont Avenue was friendly and had their act together. There is a reason this is the lowest rated UPS store in the area. read more

Just went to pick up a packaged and was told it never arrived. Call 800 number and was told my packaged arrived and was signed for as required. Also called the sender who also confirmed someone signed for package. read more

I have been going here for many years. Really, the reason is proximity. It's close to where I shop and I can usually find a parking spot so I can drop off my packages. Having said that, good customer service is hard to come by at this establishment. I'm basing that on the fact that I have been to other UPS stores and have received great service. I will continue to come here, but again, basically due to the fact that it's on my regular route. If I had another choice in Montclair Village, I wouldn't hesitate to switch. read more

I am reluctantly reviewing this location because everyone has bad days, even me but this looks like a trend. The three staff are not only incompetent, rude, and unhelpful but it seems they are intentionally sabotaging customers. A week ago I returned a package from Amazon to this UPS store location. The woman (manager) printed the label and had the package shipped.... BACK to me! Amazon required the $1,100 purchase to be returned by July 18, 2021. Since it shipped back to me it hasn't made it in time! I went in today with the package to ask what could be done. The rude manager took the package and explained to her coworker that "somebody" else messed up the address. (It was her!) then said she couldn't give me a receipt and to call Amazon and show them the picture of the package as proof. I reluctantly left and called Amazon. They told me sorry nothing they can do, go back to the UPS store and ask them for help. When I returned the manager dismissed me right away and had me stand off to the side so she could help other customers. I begged for the owners info, I asked for reimbursement, I asked for my package that was sitting on the floor, but she refused everything saying all she is willing to do is give my number to the owner who's out of the country. I pleaded with her for half an hour. Being so frustrated I stood in front of the door so that I was the only customer in the store to be helped. She couldn't dismiss me now. Not my finest judgement, I was out of ideas. I now apologize to the other inconvenienced customers. I begged for any response besides "I am not doing anything" and asked her to simply return the package or provide the owners info or reimburse me or call the police so we can resolve this. For over an hour we stood like this! The police arrived and she promptly provided the package. Did we need to ruin everyone's day to do the very thing I asked for? Was it worth it? Before the owner responds with either "sorry for the inconvenience" and "we will do better" or tries to put this on me; remember the final resolution here was to give the package worth $1,100 back to me! Which I asked for repeatedly. By the looks of it (as recently as today another review posted) this "manager" has acted this way to other customers. It may be time for her to find another career, enough people have posted the same behavior. This rude, dismissive, and sabotaging behavior has been demonstrated for years (evident by many other reviews) so please keep the repetitive response. You now have my phone number, call me and convince me you will make this right! Only then will this review be edited and the public will see your response for the hollow attempt to salvage the situation that it is. read more

UPS isn't much to write home about, but this location is exceptionally terrible. They open at 8am and they are rarely open on time. Multiple times I've arrived at 8am and no one is there or someone is just walking in to open up the store. If you can't open at 8, maybe bump back the hours. The internet has also been down several times and they've been unable to ship packages. I get things happen but this has been the case numerous times and doesn't seem to affect the other nearby locations. Unfortunately I can't completely opt out of UPS but I am done with this location for good. read more

Disorganized, disheveled, and really disappointing! I had an item that was shipped to me held here for pickup. The girl working there could not find the package at first. I showed her the tracking info and she said it was here somewhere but she just didn't know where. That's not a good sign.. She eventually found it across the hall in another portion of what I assume also belongs to the UPS Store. When I went to sign for it she charged me $10 to take it with me. Yikes! I've had items held for me at local UPS Store locations and not ever had to pay to pick them up. Not wanting to deal with anymore hassle I paid and left. I won't be doing business here at this location in the future! read more

Have you ever thought something couldn't possibly be worse than it is and then it gets twice as bad that it's almost comical at that point? The customer service here takes the ultimate prize for the worst I've ever experienced in my life. When you walk in, the women that work there give you a pure look of disgust for even existing in life. When you get to the counter they don't speak to you and then say "what.." like you have just wasted their entire life. I had an Amazon return that they did not want to keep in their space because the pickup already happened that day.. first of all, that is your job. Second, there was plenty of space everywhere and behind the counter. Because they were annoyed they had to hold onto my package for a day they decided my packaging wasn't sufficient (although Amazon indicated I didn't need packaging AND I brought it in the condition I received it in) they charged me $30 to put more tape on it. Criminal. I was in a rush so I let it happen. I paid more than half the cost of my item just to ship it back. I hope karma happens to these people & they learn to be nice. Or human even read more

Bring your own tape. If your package isn't taped up, they have a new policy where they charge $2 to tape it up for you. Or you can buy a $5 roll of tape from them & do it yourself. I've been to multiple other UPS Stores around the bay area, and never have I been asked to pay for them to put on tape. -- When I told the owner about this, she gave me attitude & was like "No, $2 for taping has always been the policy for all UPS Stores" - umm, I think not. The owner's not-nice attitude and getting nickel-and-dimed for putting on a couple pieces of tape just left a bad taste in my mouth. Two thumbs down. read more

Just need to give a shout out to this location. They are ALWAYS awesome. I guess I took it for granted until I made the mistake of going to the Grand Ave location, where I had an issue with an Amazon return, I was told it needed to be put in a box or they would not refund. I never had this happen before but I accepted his answer and asked if my Return code would still be valid as he already scanned it. He said YES. But got to La Salle location and the young lady there named Deep was very kind and explained how it works. She explained I could just call to get a new return code. She was correct but Amazon service agent was very slow telling me I needed to provide order#. Apparently they cannot cross reference !? ! I was annoyed by this point. Luckily I had photo'd the gift receipt with the order # . I told her that the UPS store was getting ready to close. Deep was kind enough to let me know she would be there later so not to worry. In the end it all worked out and I was very grateful for Deep and the great service I always get at this location. Highly recommend read more

I've now had over 3 instances where they were out of something, machine broken, or they just don't know what they are doing. Amazon returns have been fine but that's about it. Expensive and won't let you drop off a package without waiting in line, even if it's prepaid. They will make you wait in line with everyone who hasn't paid for shipping yet. Not really what you want to see in a pandemic. Support the USPS instead, they're cheaper and have a drop box for prepaid packages, which is much more Covid safe. read more

I went to have passport photos taken. The fist fake was poorly done and they did not let me check before they were printed out. I had to have another shot done. And they were very overpriced. read more

As a long-time stockholder in UPS I am embarrassed to say: NEVER GO TO THIS UPS BRANCH there is another UPS at 4096 Piedmont Ave and also one at 4200 Park Blvd. They are honest there and also just do real ups shipping w/no bs or artifically inflated costs and repackaging demands. this store though. I don't know why I've punished myself for so many years, trying to support this local business, but no more. they refused to take a ***pre-paid*** return, exactly packaged for UPS, previously shipped by UPS. they told me all UPS main computers were down but that they would repackage it for me for a ridiculous amount of money, and that they would hang onto it for me until some vague later time when maybe their computers worked and it could be sent. ??? I walked outside, called UPS's 800 number, and lo and behold, their computers are all working fine. they gave me the addresses of nearby ups stores that would take my package. when I called the montclair branch to find out why UPS said their computers were working fine everywhere, they told me "go somewhere else"........and so I did, and with no hesitation and done in under 2 minutes with a smile - thank you ups at 4096 PIEDMONT AVE! read more

I really want to support this business as it a local family-owned one, located conveniently in Montclair. But it is hard to support this business when: 1. The staff lacks any ounce of customer service. 2. Prices are over-inflated. 3. There is a perfectly nice USPS in town. "THIS IS NOT A UPS STORE" or at least that's what the grumpy lady told me whilst wearing a shirt with the logo "THE UPS STORE" written across the chest. "This is a UPS Retailer" she said as if I would be qualified to know the difference. I went to drop off an Amazon package that UPS was supposed to pick up with a label and then followed the directions on Amazon with the location they recommended and was told the above. She told me if I wanted a label printed (which at that point was not an option at home), that I would have to take it to the UPS Hub. No thanks. I've dropped off two prepaid UPS packages to this store in the last month, got receipts for both of them (from the staff, stating that they received the packages along with the tracking info) and yet both mysteriously disappeared. UPS says they never received anything from this location. I love the idea of a family owned store where the kids can learn the business. But if you just throw them in there with no training in how to operate the machines, how to talk to customers or, anything about pricing or customer service, you are doomed to fail. -10 out of 5. Shady as hell. Doesn't offer the usual UPS supplies, and makes you pay inflated prices for their generic envelopes and such. Gruff service that will begrudgingly offer the most minimal help possible when asked three or four times. Most of the employees seem to wish they, and you, were dead. Avoid if at all possible, even if it means getting on a plane and hand-delivering your package. It'll probably be cheaper and less stressful that way. read more

I went here to get 11 pages scanned, I had seen the reviews but I figured even with poor customer service it couldn't be that bad. There was the terrible customer service as expected, with one guy who was supposed to help me but kept leaving for no reason, and another woman who didn't seem to know how to work the computer. It still wouldn't have been that bad except when I was scanning the guy told me there would be a $3 fee for using the computer to transfer to a USB drive. What he then failed to mention was that the scans also cost $1 per page, even though this costs them absolutely nothing to do. On top of that he insisted on charging me for 16 pages even though I only had 11 and told him repeatedly, so it basically ended up costing me over $20 to scan 11 pages. I can't imagine any reputable print shop would charge more than $5 for doing this, and even that seems like a lot. Absolutely do not come here unless you have no other options and are running low on time, terrible service that costs way more than it should. read more
