These guys have really stepped it up throughout COVID with so much commerce having moved online as a result and them having an agreement with Amazon. The staff there now is almost always pleasant and I would even go as far to say chipper and have been staffed so waits almost never exist. BUT TODAY THEY WENT THE EXTRA MILE!!! I pulled up at 7pm on the dot since I for some reason thought that they were open until 7:30pm. I was however wrong. By the time I made it to the door with my 4 Amazon returns it was 7:05pm and the door was locked. I would not have thought any less of you if you gave me a smile and a wave after pointing to your watches. Everyone needs down time on time! Instead, you unlocked the door, scanned in my packages and seemed happy to have been able to do what most would not. You've earned a customer for life regardless of price today as well as this raving review of which I rarely take the time to do! You are UH-MAZING!!! There is a reason this UPS store is one of the lowest rated stores in the area. The staff is shockingly unprofessional and incredibly rude. I witnessed a lady employee with blonde hair on the left side of the counter be extremely disrespectful to a customer. It was uncalled for and so strange I've never seen anything like this before. "Rip the tag off" she yelled to another employee treating her fellow employee with no respect at all. Another customer told me she believed the employee filled with hate and anger was related to the franchise owner. The customer was a nice older gentleman who simply needed a tag printed. The tag is $1 to print and a minimum credit card purchase is $2. The employee was bizarrely filled with anger and hate. As the other employee said no problem we will waive the $1. But the employee filled with rage didn't allow it since she never told the poor old man there was a $1 charge. I walked out after witnessing the crazy incident along with another customer as we both feared for our safety. read more

I've been doing a lot of shipping lately due to life changes and so I've been dealing a lot with USPS, and FedEx, and a few different UPS stores, and this one has hands down been my best experience. Apparently I wasn't wearing my mask correctly enough for her and she refused to service me. Told me to leave and kicked me out. Posted a review a few months back about this UPS location. I was unfortunate enough to have to visit this location due to a Amazon return without the Kohl's option. Upon entering a small line had formed. A gentleman had several boxes to ship. He accidentally bumped into one of the boxes while it was being weighed by the employee. She immediately gave the customer a attitude. The customer was shocked and explained he was sorry several times. The employee did not accept the apology and a shouting match began. Another employee then ran up to the customer and began shouting at him. It was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable for everyone in the store. The lack of professionalism and common decency displayed by the staff was shocking to say the least. This location is absolutely horrific and one to avoid if possible. The employees also wear masks incorrectly that do nothing to help the safety of themselves or customers. The masks appear to be more symbolic than anything. The employees appear angry at the world and unhappy at this location. Amazon sometimes forces us to bring packages to UPS. I strongly suggest a short drive to another location. read more

Updated review: I have had many subsequent visits and have really had a 5-star experience. Outstanding service today from Andrew. Helped me pack and send out 11 packages with ease. Very friendly and gave me advice on setting up a house account if I will use frequently. He also gave me a stamp card for discounts on future shipping. Went in the store for passport pictures. The associate was very rude and said they don't do passport pictures anymore. When I said that the website for her store said that they did. She rudely told me after the store was remodeled they stopped. They need to correct this on their website. I don't plan on coming back to this store again! read more

Apparently if other customers are rude to them, it gives them the right to turn around and be rude to any customer who visits. I dread going here and I try not to go though I live less than a mile away. As many others have said the customer service here is deplorable. There is not a single person in there that is not rude, condescending, patronizing and sometimes even mean. It's a horrible store. I have no idea how they stay in business. I've seen them berate customers for asking a simple question, I myself have been cut off before I was able to ask something. They have no patience and they're just horrible! Sent an email to their store1573@theupsstore.com email address to inquire on mailboxes. I asked for them to send me information on the sizes and their current availability along with their rates. I did not hear back. So I called their store and received their voicemail immediately upon it ringing 1 or 2 times. To this date I've never heard back. This location is AWESOME! I don't think I've ever left without a smile on my face. I don't find UPS super cost effective for my needs but the staff makes everything SO easy that it's hard not to come back. In addition to being helpful, the staff is also very knowledgeable. Great location, convenient to get to and has its own parking lot. Staff is great - they're all well-versed re: shipping options, printing and copying options, and also the abilityto receive mail/packages at their location. Love the option to have items shipped to this secure location, where my packages will be signed for and held for me (not sitting on my front porch). Since it's not a P.O. box (like at the post office), ANY type of package can be shipped to this address and your box #. The staff remembers the names of every regular customer, always greet you when you arrive, and if I'm there to pick up packages shipped to me there, they seem to have memorized every customer's box # so that they can quickly retrieve my package(s). My husband was kind enough to drop off a christmas package we need to send. I made the mistake of not telling my husband what was in the package. But we have been your customer for many years and have never lied about what is in a package or shipped anything harmful. From the minute my husband came to the counter the woman had an attitude. Not a good one. She could have handled the situation tactfully but did not. She was rude. She lectured him and told him how people lie to you about what is in a package and she finally opened the box. Then came another lecture about my packing methods. Now my husband will never drop off another package for me. But I doubt I will ever use your facility again. You need to teach your employees communication skills. They are representing your store. Insane rates for small packages and the customer service is beyond disgusting. Brittany was rude & arrogant! Before getting emotional and self-riotous, how about listening to the customer first? I asked a simple clarifying questions and basically was yelled at that I was accusing her of not pricing the item correctly, which I did no such thing. i have always had good service at this UPS Store. However, this time I went in to mail a package I was asked what's inside. I told the clerk (who happened to be the store owner) that I was mailing backpacks with hunting gear. She immediately looked at me funny and asked me is there was any guns or ammo in the bags. I told no of course not just hunting gear in backpacks. I told her I ran a none for profit charity that takes kids with cancer hunting and fishing. She asked If she could open the package and inspect it for ammo or weapons! I asked her what this was about and she said it was federal law that they couldnt ship that stuff. I told her nothing like that is in the package. She told me either she inspects the package or I would have to take it to another store. I said fine go for it. She opened it and went into ever backpack and of course found nothing. She told me that she set up trigger words that she puts in place that require inspection of packages or she doesn't ship them. So I was profiled because I said "Hunting" gear. She made me feel like a criminal and claimed that she had to do this to comply with the law which is not the case. She profiled me and discriminated against me because I mentioned "hunting". read more

the price for shipping package came out much higher at the store than what was calculated online at UPS website. I had all the weight/dimensions correct. seems like bite and switch. when I do it with usps, what their website quotes me is the exact price I get at the post office. Another thing is that this UPS location is behind times. When I lived in Chicago, I used local UPS retail store to ship things. They had my info in their system so I didn't have to fill out anything. it was very quick process. This UPS in Park Ridge apparently don't do it that way. Two terrible experiences in a row. All the employees there are very quick to be a bit more rude than stern.. I forgot to take a mask to the store with me today to pick up a package and when I went in. The lady who OWNS the "independent" UPS store did a great job of informing me I need to be wearing a mask. I followed up by saying "can u please provide me with a disposable mask, as I forgot mine today?" She said they did not have any, and I was puzzled. If you're enforcing a mask mandate in your store even though we were all spaced out, then at least have some to provide for those who may have forgotten theirs. Obviously not a way to retain business and keep your clients happy.. it's a shame my fitness studio has to keep working with this store, because if it was up to me I would never spend a dime here again. Only come here if it's convenient for you, otherwise avoid that awful environment it's the furthest thing from positive. Even though they're just middle manning packages, customer service should still be a priority. Genuinely hope they learn, and do better! read more

I am one to never complain about a difficult situation, but this was one that I had to share with the community. My husband and I were treated extremely poorly by the woman who claims to be the "store owner." After contacting Amazon and confirming that there would be no problem dropping off our pull out couch at our local UPS store, we packed up our couch, rented a UHaul and drove it down to the UPS store. There, we were immediately rejected upon entry. The "owner" claimed the box was too big for UPS to ship. After getting more information, we promptly called Amazon's customer service and they confirmed that UPS should have no problem taking the item even if it's a larger sized box. The "owner did not care to cooperate with us or give us any additional advice on how to get our item shipped. She let her anger get the best of her and in front of other customers, she screamed at both my husband and I complaining that she works 7 days a week and she has plans after work, therefore she could not stay any longer. We were outraged by her lack of customer service skills and completely frustrated that she was not willing to help us. We will never come back to this location again. I wish we would have seen the other negative reviews before coming here. In the end, we were able to drop off our Amazon couch at another UPS without any problems. read more
