I just took a box with a prepaid UPS label to the Park Ridge store to be shipped. When I dropped it off, I realized that the seal needed one more piece of tape which would have required an inch of tape. I have been going here for at least 3 years for all of my shipping needs and asked the owner, Bob, if he could seal it. He said 'I'll have to charge you $1 for that.' I literally thought he was joking but he wasn't. He said since it was a pre-paid package that he'd have to charge me. So after giving him years of business he's now charging me for an inch of tape? I will NEVER use this store again and left the store and took it to another UPS store even though it's 3 miles away. I've always felt that he overcharged and wasn't happy about that but went for the convenience factor. Never again! What a ridiculous lack of customer service! I will also tell everyone I know about the poor customer service that I received. read more

Follow up to my December review. Today I made my first Amazon return ever. Naturally I had some angst with the Amazon process, which was totally painless and intuitive, however with some of the viewpoints expressed by others about this UPS location, I naturally had some thoughts in my mind that there could be additional issues on top of the web process with Amazon. There were none. I (again) was politely acknowledged, treated with respect and had my newbie questions answered without attitude. It was amazingly fast and efficient. I checked the hours prior to departing home as I do as a standard practice for any small business in this day and time, as indicated, they were open so no issues there, The lot was clear and ice free as were the walkways to the business. I just don't witness the complaints expressed by others, perhaps they are confused by visiting the USPS facility across the street and calling UPS the post office? read more

the owner of the store goes well beyind his way to make sure the customers get great customer service. i use this store very often to drop off my parcels with prepaid labels and i get a receipt every time ,plus i can use their cart to haul them in . not to mention the usps office is conveniently located right across the street ,which makes it extremely convenient when u have to get to both locations before dead line. their selection of available sizes for boxes is absolutely amazing, one can find any box they need, from small to big. they recently renovated the store and updated their copiers , so everything is new and hightech they also have a loyal customer card , which can save you some $ if you use them often. definitely recommend read more

I've only gone here for convenience. I just came from a store by my house and was charged $19 on a $200 insured item from IL to CA by UPS Ground. There are things being sent from this store to a suburb 15 miles away and Bob is charging $15 as I found out today. I sent something to Georgia and it was $15 via Ground. I got the same item from another store shipped for $9. I will never go back there again. DO NOT GO TO THE UPS STORE IN PARK RIDGE!!! read more

Spent a good part of an afternoon trying to get a document notarized...40 minutes waiting in one bank; told at our other bank that we had to make an appointment, could we come back in an hour? Good customer service, right? We headed across the street to the UPS store, where we were greeted, document notarized at the cost of one dollar and out the door in less than 2 minutes. After a poor experience at a different UPS store, these guys totally took care of me today. While every other UPS store closes at 3pm on Saturdays, they stay open until 5pm to serve their customers. Totally turned out to be a lifesaver today! Thanks so much! read more

I read some of the reviews below, and would agree you can wait 20 minutes at a USPS store across the street where they don't even answer the telephone. I know this because I called USPS across the street on 3 successive days to renew a Passport, and they really do not answer. Be prepared... get a box and keep plastic tape at home with a roll that costs 2 bucks and insure you have nothing but shipping to do. I recently returned Comcast DVR's and other things and they boxed everything and charged nothing. I think this location goes out of their way to accommodate customers. Walk-way shoveling....get real. Would you like cheese with your whining. You must be really unhappy to begin with to complain about minutia. Do you see postal office sidewalks shoveled? If you think your overcharged, then you have options, like the lame United States Postal Service. Or worse yet try to find a Fedex store nearby. These guys at the UPS store have plenty of parking and provide excellent service...Period! read more

I used to like the guy there. This time, I got a young girl. She was helpful enough to direct me to call 800 number to resolve one of my issues. I asked her to give me a quote for a package I have. She said about $9 dollars. Later on, she said something about another envelop without mentioning any charge. I thought that would be included since she never asked me if I want it. When she give me the final charge of $13, I was shocked but too embarrassed to confront her. I paid for the package and walked out kicking myself for being charged maybe $9 more if I had just walked to the other side of the street to Postal office. I know that I should have confronted her but she was sure misleading. :( read more

We have dropped off funding packages (with original unique signature documents here, and paid the rip off prices for an overnight package) to have them totally disappear and UPS has no record of them at all. How can you trust this place or Ups, for that matter. read more

When you have an insurance claim the final determination always goes back to the origination shipping office - I did not know this. Well, even with extra insurance purchased to cover the package ($1000) actual value - they denied the claim and basically told me to go scratch. They are not paying. Looking into this as that's ridiculous! What is the point of extra insurance if you get to decide if you are paying or not? The broken package was inspected by UPS at its destination, pictures everything. Who just decides - meh no not covering because you don't feel like it? I haven't particularly liked the staff at this location before - but the handling of this claim was just done very rudely. read more

I have never had any problems with this place. Staff is friendly, helpful and I get a receipt for my dropped off packages without asking. They have an automatic door opener which is convenient when you have your hands full. read more

Always go the extra mile and very friendly. If I call and ask them to check if I have mail in my box, they check for me and never make me feel like it is an inconvenience. read more
