I called to asked if this UPS store has a notary, the guy who answered the phone was very cryptic and rude, he said they have one there and I told him I would be over within a half hour. When I arrived I was second in line standing on the 6 foot apart floor sticker. The unhappy older man working there asked me to pick up a large piece of litter (that many have stepped on) from the floor. Isn't that his job? And during Covid, strange. I picked it up with barely touching it and asked where he wanted me to put it. He said obviously in the trash...so beyond rude, not a thank you from him. When I got to first in line I asked for the notary and he said he had left, I reminded him that I had just called and he replied that he does not know the notary's schedule. I went in to overnight a package to my daughter. The gentleman who "helped" me, was so extremely rude and barked at me for asking if they had cold boxes for mailing. I was so shocked that I numbly asked about a box for my item. He rudely answered and proceeded to get a box that needed to be cut down instead of an appropriately sized box. He never asked if I wanted it and proceeded to package my things. When I told him I just wanted to pay for the box he charged over 12$ for what he had done. Not a month ago, I mailed the exact same package from a ups store, in Utah and paid 15$ for the box, packaging, and shipping. The shipping was 12$ of it. I will NEVER be at that store again. He was a Caucasian man with straggly longer hair. I have never been so rudely treated for absolutely no reason. read more

I went in today to return some packages and was very pleased with the customer service. The employee, Max, was incredibly helpful. To start, my packages weren't even taped together and my shipping labels weren't cut out or on the boxes yet. Without even being asked, Max said he would take care of it, and he handled all of that for me very quickly, while multitasking and taking care of other customers at the same time. He and his coworker did this while being courteous and professional and making sure my needs, and the other customer's needs, were fully taken care of. To sum everything up, I would absolutely recommend coming to this store to get your shipping needs handled. read more

This is not my first experience shipping from a domestic UPS store location to a foreign client. Due to the costs associated with such an endeavor, I often require the remote client to cover the shipping costs of time-sensitive documentation. This creates a situation wherein we are using a Third Party Billing Number to pay for the package shipment. UPS, with whom we have a long-standing corporate account and a great appreciation, has a very simple and straight-forward policy: UPS accepts shipments for collect and third-party billing as long as the receiver or third party has a valid UPS account number and has agreed to accept the charges. That's it. Unless you come to 555 N El Camino Real in San Clemente, CA, because they will turn your shipment away and not think twice. We ended up driving to the Aliso Viejo location and shipped it with no problem. read more

DO NOT try to ship something from here. I went into this place for the 2nd (and last) time and they are not only not helpful, they Refuse to ship a UPS shipment using a 3rd party billing number. (Because they don't make money off of it.) They told me I have to drive all the way to Aliso Viejo, or pay him up front and charge the 3rd party myself. I wish I could give the UPS El Camino Real location "0 stars". If you are an Amazon seller shipping off your inventory to an FBA warehouse, DO NOT GO HERE. THE EMPLOYEE LIED ABOUT MY SHIPPING COSTS- TRIED TO CHARGE ME OVER $100 FOR A SMALL SHIPMENT. Let me start off by saying I am an Amazon seller whom regularly uses UPS to ship my items, but this was my first time shipping from the El Camino Real UPS location. I was mailing a small shipment to Amazon (around 20 pairs of shoes) and the employee whom worked there (a man with long, shoulder length gray hair) was awful. He did not help with finding boxes, measuring, or weighing- just pointed to the folded boxes in the corner and told me "go find a box that fits and put it together yourself". The UPS store was completely empty and I was the only customer in there. I told him I was shipping to the Amazon warehouse, and he said, "You might as well not even sell these on Amazon because with the cost of shipping it won't even be worth it." Without weighing my shipment, measuring a box, or even knowing what items I shipping or where I was sending them to, he told me that my shipping costs were going to cost me "WELL OVER $100!" Long story short, I left this location, and instead took my inventory to another UPS Store in San Clemente- at the Ocean View Plaza shopping center on Camino De Los Mares. The employees at the Camino De Los Mares location helped me pick out boxes, package my order, weigh my items, and print out my shipping labels. I could be wrong, but anyway when I lived in San Clemente i would come here almost 3 times a week and he was always so kind, helpful and full of stories. Sometimes I failed to satisfy every customer who needed a tracking number on the spot when the package was measured, weighed, the Zip Code entered, the speed of delivery chosen, whether a signature on the receiving end was desired, and whether the contents therein needed extra insurance. To spare customers and those in line the tedium of waiting for a shipping label to-and-from delivery addresses to be entered, typically we'd save the nascent shipment as an "Estimate"... and then process the actual shipping label when the pressure's off toward the end of the day before the 5:30pm last call pick-up deadline by the UPS driver enroute to the UPS shipping annex in Aliso Viejo... where packages are sorted and either put onto trucks for Ground delivery... or driven to the airport for rapid-delivery air freight around the world. If a legible e-mail is written on the "Parcel Shipping Order", the client automatically receives an e-mail hyperlink with a valid tracking code as-soon-as the shipping label is generated. Merely clicking on that hyperlink at any subsequent moment in time will apprise the precise disposition of that package in transit to its intended recipient. In The UPS Store, to multi-task and assist three of four customers simultaneously is possible when everyone is polite and civil... and that person first in line realizes that a quick instruction to someone further down the line to fill out the "Parcel Shipping Order" form detracts for a mere few seconds the evaluation of his or her package. I urge patience for all of us who live in a world where enough time seemingly is lacking. Customers who were not private mailbox holders often would bring in United States Postal Service (USPS) packages wishing us to send 'em out in the courtesy mail drop. For small letters I'd always willingly drop them in -- providing the advisement whether the postal carrier that day was yet to arrive or whether the carrier already had taken the day's mail. No UPS clerk is under any obligation to accept any letter for non-boxholders -- but clerks are prohibited from accepting large USPS packages that are required to be checked in at the Post Office due to 9/11 security concerns. Just as the United States Postal Service cannot accept our UPS shipments for drop-off, clerks at The UPS Store cannot and should not accept packages labeled for the US Postal Service to deliver. The UPS Store is not the Post Office. Folks often would come in with incomplete information needed to ship a package. Sometimes they'd have a city or town but no Zip Code. Their cellphone could have provided them this information with a simple contact search or a Google search, but instead they'd demand the clerk search that for them. The problem there is that some Zip Codes in rural areas overlap neighboring townships and the UPS database simply can't fill that info in, especially concerning new housing tracts. The Zip Code search on the countertop networked computer was tedious and slow. I urged any smartphone user to assist me so the shipping label would be 100% correct and not result in a shipment failure. What I saw is that some people want others to do everything for them. When this needy assistance was not readily forthcoming they reacted badly. If you go to any The UPS Store not willing to spend money, then you're in the wrong place. I wouldn't go to your place of employment and demand of you free lunch or gratis packaging services. But if you're looking for the best in customer service and willing to pay for it... The UPS Store on El Camino Real is still the place where their shipping knowledge gets your important package to its destination on time and on budget. Don't use this store! I stopped in last Saturday morning to send an insured package to New York. The old guy working there took my information, packaged my item, and charged me. He then sat my package aside without printing the shipping label or giving me a tracking number. He said he would finish it soon and I could track the package with my receipt, which wasn't true I had to email UPS to get a tracking number. I then saw that the expensive package wasn't sent out until 9PM Monday night. This morning the tracking shows that the address was wrong and couldn't be delivered. After calling UPS and straightening out the address, the package should be delivered Monday. Nine days to get from California to New York is unacceptable. This store was completely unprofessional and should be avoided at all cost. read more

Really poor service. Brought a package to be delivered and checked on dates to make sure someone would available to pick it up. I was told it would go out on a Friday, they would hold it, so it would arrive the following Wednesday. That did not happen, the package was delivered on Friday, there was no one available to pick it up, and we had to make arrangements. Not only did this happen but the price I was quoted was doubled when he used a box they had laying around. When my husband called to discuss this problem they blamed me....Nice! Not really sure how this place stays in business. The Asian guy that works there is always extremely rude when you have a drop off only. "Leave it there!" is the usual response. Like nobody wants a receipt proving they've dropped it off with you? Especially after all the complaints on here about him trying to up-sell services that aren't needed and also refusing packages after you've dropped them off? The long haired guy is better, but the few times I've dealt with him it's always been, "the owner will refuse this package and charge you again if this is how you drop it off". Had me cover up barcodes that were already blacked out by Sharpie with pieces of paper. Why? Because the owner would try to charge me again if the barcode was even remotely visible. Zero customer service skills and a rude owner/manager to boot. DO NOT reward this behavior. Give the UPS Store on the other side of town your business instead. read more

It's unfortunate that even after all of the negative reviews of this store, the service here is still horrendous. Someone sent a package for me to this store by mistake (very old address). After I received delivery confirmation from the carrier (OnTrac), called the store to see if the package was there. I was informed that they would have refused the package because I did not have an account there (didn't bother to check whether the package was actually there). Called OnTrac and they verified that the package was left there. Went into the store - one person working there (older grey-haired person mentioned in so many other negative reviews here) and a line out the door. Finally got up to the front, and after much confusion and clearly deliberate stalling on his part, he informed me that I would have to pay $10 to get my package. There was a very long line of people behind me, so as not to hold them up any longer, I just told him to keep the package and left. Can't recommend staying away from this store enough. read more

Rude Rude Rude.,. WOW! Drove there from the north end of town because it says they're open till 7pm, got there at 6:15... The cage to close off the store from the mailboxes was all the way closed except for just enough to get through... Suggesting they wanted to be closed... The guy behind the counter didn't have a welcoming bone in his body! The feeling was hurry up, why are you here? what do you want? Without saying a word! Then he asks what I need... I say I'm here to drop of a package that is already paid for with my label... The box was taped closed, and I (dummy me) made the mistake of asking for a piece of tape (I litterally mean "a small price of tape") to further secure it (just cuss the lid on this little 8" box was a little lazy) ... He, as if he was waiting to pounce for interrupting his way early close, abruptly said we charge $2 to tape that!! I just left... I go to fed ex almost daily and the UPS Store on Camino De Los Mares (those guys are great).... I have been a customer of the UPS Store from pretty close to the time they opened their doors. I thought it was time I give them a review. I have a post office box there and have "always" had outstanding service. ALL of their people go out of their way to give great service. The owners Nick and Jeremy and their staff are great (Arthur, Lindsey, Cory). We Love the friendliness here, it's something we don't have much in South Orange County anymore sadly. I almost felt like I was intruding or putting the owner out. Wasn't greeted, my package was dumped onto the floor for me to pick up, no goodbye. I do lot of notaries here and there's always one available which I rely on for my business. They even came to my office when I needed emergency notaries. Although wasn't a drop off, I shipped some stuff here, didn't seem to have a problem. My customer indicated was packed very well.
