I got yelled at by the older Chinese male employee on Saturday September 30, 2023, he was so defensive and rude over 3 black and white copies he messed up and insisted that I paid for it and then said I didn't need to pay after he made all the fuss...so I paid for them anyways....He also gave me a small note to keep track of my copies...I usually just count them on my head in other UPS stores and tell them how many I did, but he seems to wanted me to show him on paper, so I did and then he looked all shocked after I showed him the note and he said what that was?????? Very rude his tone of voice, so I explained that I had done the math for him, but he looked so confused! I did a simple math problem for him 32 copies multiplied by 15 cents is $4.80. I still got a very rude vibe from him and extremely rude facial and angry face and demeanor towards me!!!! I left the store shaken because of his rudeness and raising his voice at me.....They need extra training on good manners especially not raising your voice or yelling at customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Not a positive experience, but my college roommate can only get packages via UPS so I had to follow through. At this store, social distancing procedures weren't being followed and the guy who helped me (might be the owner actually) seemed overwhelmed and acted like he was doing me a favor. They are one of the only mailing stores in the San Jose area that is open on Sunday, so that is a big deal in itself. When I came on Sunday afternoon, they could not have been more courteous. I was able to ask questions and thoughtfully determine the best type of shipping for the situation all while dealing with a very pleasant and patient employee (Jessica). The worst possible customer service, based on multiple visits. Their notary is not accurate and we have had documents rejected by county and government offices. Their notary refuses to acknowledge mistakes and is combative. Clearly does not know the protocols. Today, I went there for a simple document to have notarized. After arriving I asked if the notary was available and they said yes. I printed my documents, went back to the counter 5 min later and they said, " Oh, he is an important meeting and not available for an hour." This is a UPS store, not an office! I went to another notary service and was taken care of in less than 5 minutes. This location does not understand, or care about, basic customer service. This UPS location is THEE BEST!! 20 out of 10! Amazing customer service! I had to return a a canopy via Amazon because of the bad weather we were having. First off, I didn't have the original box it came in and it was still a little wet from the storm the night before. I didn't know it was my last day I had to get it shipped out, so when I brought it in to this UPS location the UPS team was able to help me with exceptional service! They were able to box it up for me in AND made sure it got shipped out same day. It was a very short notice being that the UPS drivers had just arrived to pick up outgoing boxes as well. Rude and condescending customer service. If you don't offer complimentary pieces of tape for unsealed packages, that's totally fine, but please don't be a jerk about it, especially when you have an open roll on the counter behind you--what do you use it for? Waxing your back? It's no wonder why the reviews here are so low. Thankfully, this location was spotted while running my errands and not my nearest UPS store. FYI, The Berryessa has very friendly and approachable employees who make small talk and the wait enjoyable. Worst customer service I have ever experienced no one was around to help me. The person in charge told me to pay again to make a copy that I told him I needed in color and I got in black and white. So I basically had to pay $2 and $0.16 or a copy that I cannot even use. So disappointed I wish I could give a negative star. read more

Horrible location. Im pretty understanding when it comes to customer service and retail because I've been there. I get it. Today, however, I had to go with my sleeping toddler in my pjs after my husband tried multiple times to pick up his package that was sent from his work. They refuse to give him his package. Based on his attitude and how different my husband was treated vs me on numerous occasions by myself at this location, I feel he was being biased against my husband. We even had to rush back home to get another form of ID. Apparently, a Green Card (government issued ID) and renter's insurance is still not enough proof to pick up a package because the ID does not have a current address on it. Seriously?? We have given multiple proof of ID and addresses and he still wouldn't allow him to take his package. On UPS website, it does not specify you need an updated address on your ID in order to pick up your package. Now, my husband had to contact his employer because there is no way for him to pick up what is rightfully his and we are about to move out of state. Avoid this location at all costs. I'm sure the older employee that helped us was the owner, too. read more

I went there today to send a package. I had a pre-paid shipping label on my phone and was hoping to email it to the clerk or have him scan it. He said there was a fee of $4 to print the pdf label from my phone. Also, he said he would charge me $2 to put a piece of tape on top of the package. Both clerks at the store were unwelcoming, unfriendly and unhelpful. I left the store feeling awful. What a depressing place! I will ship my package from a different UPS store. read more

They were very unclear about the price or using the computer to print out a document. I have been there many times and just emailed my document and they printed it for less than a dollar. They insisted they couldn't do that and in a rush, I agreed to use the computer. It charger me $20 and didn't allow me to continue. I asked for help and was told it charged by time. I told them, I know that, but you just saw me sit down. I haven't even used it but was charged. They argued with me instead of listening to my concern or trying to help. Package redirection service not worth the hassle, notary hours unreliable Individual workers in this store have been kind and helpful on the half a dozen times I have been there in the last six months. I have found the owner to be focused solely on process, surly, and just generally not focused on customer service. The store has Inconvenient weekday hours for those of us who work, making package pickup hard to accommodate. Trying to authorize someone else to pick up a package for you is impossible. (Not with the energy to rant about this, just trust me it's not something you want to try to do) If you can't make the hours, find someplace else for secure shipping. Finally, I have visited for notary services several times over the last few months and been told the owner who is the notary doesn't get in at opening hours. The owner of this store is the most unhelpful person I have ever come across. I had a $2000 package delivered to another UPS Store, but it was instead delivered by mistake to this store. The other UPS Store suggested that I call around the area to find my package because there may have been a misdelivery. When I called the store, the owner INSISTED he did not have my package, and, "We would never accept a package that is not addressed to us. You need to call UPS and have them find your package." Fast forward one week later. UPS tells me that my package is at his store. Really? You never accept packages that are not addressed to you? What about my package then? Had he even extended me the courtesy of looking around for my package, which he obviously would have found, we could have saved ourselves a lot of trouble and humiliation. Never do business here. IF I CAN GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE STARS, I WOULD!!!! The owner, Avtar Nat, is by far the dumbest person I have ever met. My package needed a signature upon delivery (I had it delivered to my address under my name)... I was not home to sign for it so it got delivered here. When I came in with my government issued I.D., I was not able to obtain my package because it "didn't show my billing address". Owner cannot differ between a shipping address and a billing address. The most ridiculous part is that he made me obtain a "release code" since according to him my name and address does not match the package (EVEN THOUGH THE PACKAGE WAS ADDRESSED TO MYSELF). I was on run around with Best Buy, my shipper AND UPS customer service. After we got the "release code" the owner of this UPS store said that on the system, it doesn't ask for a "release code" so he can't help me nor release my package..... I WAS AUTHENTICATED BY UPS CUSTOMER SERVICE VIA PHONE. I HAD BEST BUY CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT'S PRESIDENT ON THE PHONE TO WITNESS THE UPS STORE'S OWNER REFUSING TO HELP ME AND EVEN SNAPPING AT ME. I never write negative reviews, but this place is such a rip-off I felt compelled to leave a warning. First visit I need a large box and some peanuts to fill the box. I already had my prepaid UPS label. The owner wanted $75 for the box and peanuts. I asked are you sure this is the price? He said yes. I asked about just the price if the box and he said $24.00. Still that's high but $54 for peanuts to pack it is crazy. I was in a hurry and just bought the box which is way over priced. Second visit I wanted to mail a t-shirt to Sacramento. He wanted $5 for a card stock envelope and want the charge $12 to ship it UPS ground. He told me it cost extra because it was odd shaped. What? I left and went next door to the post office and got a box and shipping 2 day priority for under $6. read more

I've had a mail box for abt 5 years and have done it out of convenience for the location but there's been a recent shift...new owners! They are so polite and friendly that it makes going to get my packages an inviting experience, not a reluctant chore. I've had a mailbox at this location for 4 years. I have a lot of shipments arriving-- 2-3 every week. These guys are very organized and reliable. I know I can trust them to notify me promptly when my packages arrive. Whether the packages are extra-large or very small I know I will get them a timely manner from a courteous and dependable crew. read more

Unfortunately, I can only give this place two stars because of their service; 1. I asked a gentleman who seemed to be the manager to look up an address for me for a confirmation of the correct postal code and street address I was mailing some documents to, and the owner said that wasn't possible. How is that not possible? You're a mailing and shipping store..(I've been to another branch of UPS store and they looked up an address for me no problem). 2. I asked them to print out a label for me, again this apparently wasn't possible. Yet at a different branch of the same store they printed me a label. 3. They seemed unconcerned that they had multiple customers and decided to pick and choose who they wanted to deal with first (no first come first serve prioritizing). 4. Simple questions about the difference of mailing options could not be answered by the manager and he seemed to get agitated at the other customers as well for asking questions. Horrible experience today. All I wanted to do was ship a pair of shoes. I tried some of the generics $5 boxes to fit the shoes in and the clerk (who i am guessing is the store manager) told me the only thing I could do was have them package it for me. THey upsold it to $18 just to make a box in 2 minutes in the back. Next thing I know, I see these huge envelopes that would easily fit the shoes. They're $4.99. I ask him if I could ship it in them, he replies, yes, but he's already made this box for me. He also didn't have an answer when i said, "why didn't you give me that option earlier when I was looking for the right size package". It was then $30 for 2 day shipping from SF to LA. Overall, yes, things could be worse, but it's upsetting when you know you just got worked over for more money. read more

I understand it's a small location but if the store is empty is it really necessary to be required to go outside to place my bed comforter into a box that I just purchased there for $12? If I could give zero stars I would. This was my third and final attempt to use them. Yesterday I went to the store and was shipping a very small article of clothing (flat bra) the was 4x6 inches. Fit totally fine in an overnight envelope. Under 8 ounces. Was quoted $55 to overnight no problem. This place won't let you use your corporate UPS account. I was prepared to pay. Then the owner walks up and feels the envelope and asks what's inside. When I told him he flips the envelope and shows the fine print about what's okay. I assured him my company ships using that envelope all the time but he refused. So I have to pay $4.95 for one envelope and then the poor cashier tells me it's going to be $95 to ship due to the new envelope. So now the price has increased $45 to use their envelope. I took my package out of the envelope and went to fed ex where they happily delivered in their free envelope for me In my opinion the owner is not there for service but to make as much money as possible. His store does a great disservice to the UPS name. Ps: while I was there another gentlemen came in and left for fed ex when told he'd be charged for an envelope. Spare yourself the spike in blood pressure and go to fed ex or the UPS store on 7th. This place is a joke. read more

Cannot trust this store to handle your packages. I dropped off my prepaid package to this store for UPS and received a receipt for it. 1 month later the tracking shows that it still hasn't shipped. Contacted UPS who told me to call the store where it was dropped off because they haven't received the package. Called this store only to be told me that they don't know what happened to my package and that all packages were handed to UPS at the end of each night but they don't have any proof that my package was actually handed off to UPS. Don't trust this store with your UPS packages, they do not have good record-keeping process and if your package is lost, they have no way of helping you, and whatever was in it is lost forever. Find a different UPS location to help ship your packages because this one is incapable. read more

I agree with all of the reviews written here. Every time we've come in here the owner has been grumpy and it seems like he is unwilling to help with the basic things. Today we came in for passport photos and he insisted that he could not take baby photos with no explanation as to why he was very unapologetic about the whole situation. Eventually we went across the street to Walgreens. ***** Update: they hired a very helpful young man who helped me carry a heavy package from my car. The owner wasn't happy with him for doing that. Brought two pre paid packages to the store. Actually brought two packages and forgot one of the labels. Seeing as the boxes were extremely heavy- the man working offered to hold the package as long as I needed to I didn't have to carry it around and could just come back with the label. I explained it would take 2-3 weeks to get the label and they were still able to accomodate me which was great. Went back today with the label and sure enough the package was there. The customer service is fine and equal to any other UPS store HOWEVER the fact that they charge $2 for one single piece of tape to close a 9x9 box is INSANE! $2 for a piece of packing tape that is probably 12 inches long?! I tried to mail a package last night at the UPS store at 1702 Mereidain Ave. I thought they were open until 7pm. I walked in at 6:32pm. I was disrespectfully told how mistaken I was of thier closing time. The UPS door was open. The ceiling lights were on inside and on the windows. There were employees and a customer inside. When I walked in the owner of the company says to me, with a big attitude "I don't know how you expect us to take that package? Don't you know trucks don't come this late?" I been did not expect to be talked to so rudely. I was taken back by the attitude and just walked out. He then called me back and asked to have a form filled out to make their job easier. No, Mr. Owner I don't know the schedule for UPS trucks. It's your responsilibilty to know this, not mine! All you needed to say to me was that you're sorry, you are closed but come back tomorrow. Respecting your customers goes a long way. However, rudeness and disrespect does not! Then you handed me a paper to fill out to make your job easier??? REALLY??
