This was such a pleasant experience. The woman who was helping me identified herself as the owner. You could easily tell she was a customer oriented person and believed her work is to help small businesses and individuals with their needs; not to sell products. I entered and asked for assistance needing to solve several problems; one that was quite specific to my situation. I could actually see her thinking trying to figure out how to solve my problems. I believe she was successful. While she was processing things for me, the two of us were talking about lots of different things in life. It was truly just a very friendly efficient and competent experience. While there, another customer came in and confirmed that they help him with his small business needs as well. He seemed very happy with them making me feel like I was making the right choice as well to do business here. I got the impression these people understand the needs of small business and do what they can to help them meet those needs and solve their problems. I have been going to the UPS location for a year now. I have been sending my daughter care packages to her dorm several times a month. The ladies who work there a very welcoming, kind and helpful. I walked in today and the Manager/owner did not greet me but let me know right away my two packages needed to be sealed. I asked if he could put tape on my boxes( two pieces of tape...one on each box) He was annoyed and told me this was the only time he would do it! I went ahead and bought $6 tape for just two pieces. I told him I didn't want to upset him! I have spent a lot of money in that place but never again! I will go else where. This isn't the first time I've seen him being rude. The last time I walked in he was on the phone yelling at someone in front of the customers. If he's only the manager they may want to find a new one!!!!! I have never experienced poorer customer service at any store. Upon having to pick up a UPS delivery at their location, I dreaded having to go to the establishment. Not only are they unfriendly and unwilling to help, the gentleman who either owns or manages it consistently has a bad attitude. If I could easily report them to UPS, I would. Just here to say, I love how easy it is to make Amazon returns to UPS and use their notary service/ shipping. But any other UPS store I go to has been great. This one. WOW. The shorter girl with dark hair is one of the rudest people I have come across running a store. The eye rolling, the rude answers like I shouldn't even ask a simple question. After several awful experiences and only going here since I live around the corner, time to take my business elsewhere. The gentleman working there was the only reason I went back. He's so sweet and so nice to my children. But the times I walk in and he is t there makes me so uncomfortable and I feel so unwelcome and ready to be treated like I'm not even a human being. If she is so unhappy with her job, why not find something you love? It really saddens me that the store owners do absolutely nothing about this. Customer service should be valued and it is not here. Incredibly rude owner who is short & sarcastic with customers. I went in to get information to ship a package. He was preoccupied, unfriendly & quite unhelpful in giving me the information I needed. He assumed I should know various "shipping" terminology & when I asked him to clarify he responded in a sarcastic manner. I understand everyone is under stress right now but this was not the first time I've had this experience with the owner. The owner is so rude, it's really disappointing. I've had multiple negative experiences here, and each time it was as a result of the owner. The prices are outrageous and not something I've ever experienced at any other UPS store. They overcharge you if they have to add extra tape to secure your box or for a few extra packing peanuts. $3 to sprinkle a few pieces of styrofoam into a box I'm paying for?? No thanks, I'll go to the post office. I added a star for convenience and good parking. Only come here if you're just dropping a prepaid Amazon return that's taped and ready to go. I'm really surprised at how much this guy is Anti-Customer service. I had a document I needed to send priority over-night and I was willing to pay top dollar. Now I will concede that it was 15 minutes until the last pick up - but he was unwilling to hustle a little bit to help - and honestly I was kind of surprised.. I called the UPS store on Camden and they told me that the couldn't help me.. but they actually CALLED ME BACK to hustle and help me get my package out ASAP... This guy just flat out refused. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 5 NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! This UPS Store #1762 is without a doubt the worst UPS store I've ever been in. Usually UPS stores are staffed with pleasant, helpful people who offer services at reasonable prices. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION IS TERRIBLE AND SO ARE THE PRICES!!! I walked in with 2 boxes which I needed to put together into a larger box and mail to Colorado. As soon as I asked for a box I sensed something was off but I was a little preoccupied with thinking about the other items on my to-do list so I didn't pay it any mind. First the young man helping me explained that the price of a box which he would then assemble and pack my 2 packages into would be $40.00. I was shocked at the high price and said that I would assemble the entire thing myself, with my own packaging tape I had brought with me. The owner of the store then approached and very abruptly and rudely stated that customers are not permitted to assemble anything within the store. I was completely dumbfounded at this point. I asked him if he expected me to assemble my package on the sidewalk in front of his store and he said, "Yes! Customers are NOT permitted to package ANYTHING within the store! I then snatched my 2 boxes off the counter and very sharply said, "No thank you, I'll be leaving now!" and stormed out, never to return. I have never, EVER, been treated so rudely by anyone at a UPS store! I am shocked that UPS permits this man to treat UPS customers in such an unprofessional, dismissive manner. I will never patronize this location again. Oh, and as an interesting aside, just a few weeks ago I mailed a package back to Chegg from there. I had to return my rental textbooks (I'm a grad student) and I was allowed to use the counter space to tape up the box with my own tape. I don't recall the totally nasty owner being there that day or I'm sure he would have shooed me out in the same rude, rude manner. While it is not (unfortunately) against the law to be rude it IS against the law to make your own prices on the fly, especially when you're a franchisee. I will be calling UPS Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta bright and early Monday morning to complain against these illegal business practices, as well as to inform them of the utterly rude and shabby treatment I received from the owner, Avtar Nat. I have no doubt that they will be very interested and concerned to know how he chooses to indulge in illegal business practices, as well as tarnishing UPS' good name, not to mention costing the company money. I asked for a cutter to open a box, instead of saying Let me help you, his voice was cold and saying he can't let me use their tool in case if I hurt myself. Beware! Ship your package at this location at your own risk!!! Yesterday, I walked in with a simple overnight delivery to a company address in Southern California. The package was critical. This morning, with the package due by 10:30 am, we received notification that the package was "undeliverable". This UPS Store 1) neglected to include the company name (that I spelled for them twice), and 2) misspelled the first name of the addressee. The business' receiving dock therefore refused the shipment. OMG, are you kidding me? And, this isn't the first time. I've used this store a couple of times before, and EVERY time there has been some sort of problem. Never again. You are better off finding a UPS drop box, believe me. First off, they insist on doing the shipper for you, and then they completely screw up the instructions you've just given them. The guy that runs this location makes EVERY transaction, no matter how simple and straightforward, into a complicated mess of unbelievable proportions. A five minute shipper turns into a 30 minute waste of time, minimum. His favorite line is "we can't do that". Heaven-help-you if you actually need packaging supplies...it's gouge city. If you love that feeling of being the uncool person in school, sitting by yourself during lunch and getting pointed to and laughed at on the playground, then this is the place for you! I had a return item for amazon, so I was given a shipping label, but I just needed a box to put my item in. (Unbeknownst to me, I threw my box away not knowing the item would break sooner or later). Upon entering the store, the atmosphere was already off-putting and unwelcoming. The girl up front yelled to the back after I asked if she had a box that could fit my item. Out comes who I believe is the owner the others on this page mentioned. I repeated myself for him -- that I need a box for my item. He takes the measurements of my item (a foot massager), and disappears. No problem. But then he comes back and tells me it's gonna cost me $49.99 to package my item, not including shipping. HUH??.......... "All I asked for was a box -- my shipping is taken care of." He then tells me if I don't want it packaged, I will have to take the box that he would charge me $24.99 for and -- get this -- build it up myself elsewhere and then bring it back!! And Is this cardboard made with a gold lining?! As I was leaving, I noticed the lady behind me wasn't satisfied with her dilemma with the girl and left the store with me. We looked at each other and laughed at what we had just experienced. Take your shipping issues to JDM Packing Supplies off Bascom Ave -- they helped me so much and my box there was only $6.51! I came to drop off two packages I needed to box/ wrap. Upon purchasing THEIR wrapping paper I decided I could quickly wrap up my two small packages. Nope. The manager ran toward us from out of the blue and exclaimed we couldn't. Sure I missed the 3 tiny framed advisories on the walls stating a no-no on wrapping in their store, but I felt humiliated having to go to my trunk and wrap them in there. As a paying customer I would have appreciated a small section designated for wrapping. That would have been a great accommodation. I have used this store in the past, but am sad to say I am not returning. I always estimate shipping online before I take something in. On my visit this week, the prices quoted were significantly higher than online prices. I needed to ship an item I had shipped before for $16 (for UPS ground). The cost quoted was $28! Parcel post was quoted at $18. I went to the post office across the street and parcel post was $11. Ended up going to FedEx and shipped FedEx ground for $13. Also, learned that a convenience fee is charged if a refund is requested. Eesh. read more

Such a ripoff. I have a private FedEx account where home delivery to a residential address is more economical than the post office. I simply needed box/packaged 1 box for 2 less than normal size foam posterboards, and another box with minimal peanuts for a normal 14x14 box. Over $60! I said no thanks. We just moved from Vegas where this would have been around $20. I told the owner that and he said the price would be the same in the area. I came home and pieced leftover boxes together to ship the boards for $0. Save your time and money, go to staples and then setup a personal online FedEx account. Came here to get my fingerprints done, the man who did the process failed to get a good set of prints, and submitted them telling me "he has never had a problem before with them being approved." Came to find out that my prints were rejected by the Department of Justice. When I came back to have them re-done, they told me they wouldn't redo them unless they had a letter. Went and got my lawyer to get a letter from the DOJ for them (this seems to be a UPS only policy), to find out that they were going to then charge me again. So I have been to this UPS store three times, they insist on charging me twice for something they failed to do right the first time, and they'd never told me that they would charge me again for the service they failed to do correctly, and I've had to pay the hours for my lawyer to find this rejection letter. Needless to say, I am not coming back, and I'm going to spend my money somewhere else where I know they can actually do the job right. read more

The total package weight was 8 lbs. and the overall size of the box was 1.3 cubic feet (12x12x16) THEY WANTED $75 DOLLARS TO BOX IT AND SEND IT GROUND. $25 FOR A BOX AND 50 TO SHIP i went to FedEx and the same package went off for $11.50 you would be a moron to continue shipping from here. The UPS Store #1762 located at 1702 Meridian Ave. is the worst ran store I have ever been to. During this busy holiday season they had 2 employees working, one of them being the owner and a line out the door. Every person in line was irritated and tired of waiting in line for so long because the owner clearly is too cheap to hire more help despite the holiday rush. Not just during the holidays though, it is always slow, always difficult to work with and nickels and dimes people over everything. He charged me $2 for a single strip of tape to close a box. $2 is nothing but it is the principal of it. I will never go to that store again and most likely will be taking my business to FexEx or other shipping services. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE, WHATEVER THE COST. Called in to have something printed, the guy told me it'd be ready in 20 minutes if I sent him the file by email, so I did. I also asked him if they could 3 whole punch the file, he said of course. When I get there 30 minutes later he's sitting on a computer not doing much, so I said I sent you a file remember? And he's like oh yeah... He opens it and starts printing it... I'm like I thought it'd be ready by now? He didn't say anything. Once printed he hands it to me, so I asked, I though you could 3 whole punch it, he's like oh ok, SO HE HANDS ME THE 3 WHOLE PUNCHER TO DO IT MYSELF!!! Before I went to the UPS Store, I went to the UPS website to calculate the cost to ship my box of items to Oregon. The website said it would be $63. OK. When I went to the store, though, the manager said it would cost $77. I asked why, and he said, "Do you want to proceed or not?" I did, but only because I was in a hurry. Later I called the national UPS number. UPS said that UPS stores are individual franchises and have the freedom to set prices. "OK, but then why don't you say that on your website?" I asked. Just dropped off a package here. It was nice and fast. The woman who helped me made the whole process stress free, and she was very easy about everything. She'll offer to have you put your things on the counter if you're carrying a big load. Excellent service here. I had to get a LiveScan check for an important application and was very nervous about avoiding any mistakes. The guy who works here is very friendly , attentive and very knowledgeable/experienced in LiveScan. He was the only one I have had who has not messed up a fingerprint! Also he even honored my silly request not to handle the paper too roughly because I didn't want wrinkles (since this was going to be attached to an important application). After seeing the reviews for this place, I was expecting a bad experience. What a surprise. No waiting, and the friendly guy behind the counter made it painless. They were the only UPS I could find open on a Sunday. I'm sure their rates are a little higher, but I don't have a problem with that if it's convenient. Parking right out front means no schlepping heavy or bulky (or both) packages for a block or more. This my new favorite shipping location. read more

I called because I had a glass dresser on sale on Craigslist and a potential buyer wanted to know how much it would be to ship it to Georgia. I called this UPS Store and the staff really went out of their way to get me an accurate quote - all the way to having custom boxes made that would be double thick to protect the item during shipping.
