I was sent here by the Passport office around the corner so they could help me print an e mail that they needed to submit with my passport application. Avatar was not helpful at all when I could not pull up by e mail from my phone to turn it into a PDF to have it sent to his e mail to have it printed. I had to be in there a while due to the variety of services I needed, but I didn't mind at all. Julie greeted every customer that walked in to drop off a package, and asked if they needed a receipt. A great example of jobs that are going to be automated. I kid you not, I managed to do an entire transaction without a single word being spoken from the attitude girl at the counter. I had a pre-paid return to Amazon so I walk in, no greeting, wait for help, no greeting the girl just looks at me so I walk up, she takes the package and slaps it on the scale, presses a couple buttons, hands me a receipt and that was that. I have been there multiple times and she is the one I get everytime lol... The owner of this store is not a friendly guy. He refused to help a little old lady when I was there a few days ago. She was trying to send a gift to her granddaughter and cried when he said he wouldn't help her get it in the box. Several of us in line helped her and she was so sweet. For the past 5 years it has been my go-to place for notary services and drop offs. On one or two occasions there was a line but employees were totally on top of it and things worked out great. I was shipping a 20lb spare tire in a rectangular box. the sides were a bit rounded. the clerk, who was incredibly nice, rang me up. it was a reasonable $24.00 for shipping. her boss comes from back and whispers something in her ear and then she tells me because its an irregularly shaped box, they have to charge me $35!!! in principle I understand about the difficulty stacking boxes if there irregularly shaped, but this was just absurd - the top and bottom were flat and it stood up on its sides. just like the other reviews about the manager, this place is unreasonable. go somewhere else. read more

I have visited this store several times and every time have had a negative experience. i thought first that perhaps the older gentleman who appears to be manger at the store had a bad day and did not write a review but after having been really badly treated again, am taking the time to report my extremely bad experience in the store. This man was extremely rude as I was asking whether I could use their scissors to cut the packaging tape I bought at his store and demanded me to go outside the store on to tape my package and he did not let me use a pair of scissors. I was very polite and was certainly not on his way or on the way of other customers. He outright just yelled at me. I will never use this location again. read more

Dreadful, horrible, rude service! I went in to send a package out of state. My box was too small so, I asked a young man to pack it for me in a new box with peanuts. He was very helpful, but the whole time he helped me his manager kept looking over his shoulder and giving him instructions. The clerk kept saying, "Yes - I got it " I noticed the manager did this to the other young employee also. I was told to box up my items it would be $37 plus $19 to ship it. Are you kidding? I was sending a box of chips and candy to a college student. The clerk said I could buy a box $7 and pack it myself. The rude manager said " you must take it home and pack it. There is no customer packing in the store". Hello - I am not driving home to pack a box and drive back (I was in a time crunch - otherwise I would have skipped out. ) I bought some tape and a box and packed everything up outside and walked back in to ship it a couple minutes later. The manager walked out to throw a gum wrapper in the outside garbage - what a control freak - checking on me. I will never return to this place and have warned my friends to stay away. I've used this store several times to ship packages, return items with pre-paid UPS labels, purchase office supplies, and most recently send a fax. The employee approach is always the same: skepticism. The customer never knows what he or she wants or needs, according to the employee's body language and attitude. The man who owns the store is a micro-manager, inserting himself into every single transaction taking place in the store. He holds up notarizations so that he can micromanage the employees. He makes people wait so that he can go from transaction to transaction to ensure it meets his ridiculously high standards. He does not trust his employees and you can tell by their body language and the scared looks on their faces. My most recent visit was to fax a 29-page document. While I concede I should have asked the price of faxing, I was shocked to find the bill was $58. Who would think it costs $2 per page to send a fax in 2016?! I would be happy to pay that much money if the employee did anything other than stand there and watch the fax machine, but she did not and the line piled up behind me. Fax machines are not this expensive to run and neither are the data lines that run them. The store probably doesn't even pay $58 a month for the phone and data lines. The employee who operated the fax machine did not help anyone else behind me and she should have. Sending a fax does not require constant attention. Fax machines have the ability to alert you to an issue either with a beep or a print out of the error message should your fax fail to go through. So, to charge a customer $58 for standing there to watch a machine that operates autonomously, is ridiculous. I've always felt uncomfortable, unwelcome, and burdensome when I walk into this store so I am not going to patronize this business again. If there's anything worse as a customer, it's the feeling as if you've inconvenienced the employees by having to get work done. read more

I am an avid online shopper, as such, I often find myself at UPS stores returning items. I always bring in a printed return label, and I have never had an issue with the employees taping up my small, return boxwa. Well this guy informs me that he will charge me $2 to tape the box. TWO DOLLARS? I simply turned around to leave in disgust. He yelled after me, "It takes effort." Honestly, if it takes that much effort, hand me the tape roll and I will do it. I made my commute home even longer to stop and do this errand, but I did not care. I refused to give that man any money for TAPE. read more

The owner Avtar Nat older man is so rude disrectful and unwilling to help. My package was lost and had to file a claim. My husbands name was listed as the sender but gave him my information as a point of contact. Since I paid for the shipping on my card you would think the claim and reimbursement would go to me as he asked for proof on a bank statement. However he said no it would go to my husband. I said fine but his contact info is not on file so I need to give you is number and email so you can contact him or me when we the refund check is available. He got loud and said he cannot give me that information it goes to my husband liared as the sender. I said I'm trying to give you his information not trying to get it from you. Went back and forth with no resolution and tried to speak to another employee but he refused to let the other man speak to me and dismissed me. I had to call corporate office to report him and clarify how to get the refund. He needs to be shut down. read more

I feel compelled to warn others away from this business. The store owner and staff are very unhelpful and rude. The owner actually yelled at my son to not touch the gift cards in a display rack (he was only turning the rack to read the cards)...should have walked away but I really just wanted to get an item shipped. They tried to upsell me on unneeded packing materials and then warned me that I should really pay for tracking. The item was not valuable and I just wanted to ship it as cheaply as possible. In the end, the package never arrived at it's destination and I wonder if it was ever sent. read more

I'm only giving 1 star to this UPS location because I:m usually shipping pre-paid boxes and sometimes don't have packing tape with me. The location in Campbell is happy to tape the box for me at no charge. These guys want $2 to put a piece of tape across the box-I literally mean 1 strip of tape. The label itself goes in one of their sticky, laminated envelopes anyway. I think it's petty to charge $2 for this. I don't know other locations that do this. Last time I had to use this location as it's near my office and didn't have time to drive the 7 miles to the other location. The UPS driver was loading the truck. After I paid my $2 to have my box taped (1 strip of tape, seriously), I complained to the driver about it and he said "I would have taped it for you"-aaarghh! So frustrating-it's not the $2-it's the principal of it. If they were really taping this thing with several pieces of tape, I guess I'd have a bit more sympathy. It just feels very customer unfriendly. read more

Not what you expect from a place that uses the "UPS" name. I really like ups and use them for shipping. I also like that I can usually go into the store for taping and other packaging needs. I am not sure if the owners or management has changed but it is definitely not a great place for anyone expecting friendly customer service. This location is definitely not trying impress with the attitude given to people who ship once or twice a year and do not keep packing tools on hand. Even though this is the most convenient location for me I am going to be looking for an alternative. read more

First they tried to charge me $2 to tape up a box, then they wanted to charge me $5 to pick up a box I had routed there for safety because people have been stealing packages off my porch. Rinkoo helped today with ink fingerprinting, and she had great tips and was very professional and friendly. She told me exactly how to do it and why it is like that. She is very informative and helpful who offers service. She also attended to other customers quite well. Good place to go for ink fingerprinting on a Sunday, and she also knows her rates for the UPS services well too. We had also called beforehand, and she had answered very pleasantly as well. Most friendly UPS store I've been to. Recommended. I'd go here again. read more

This UPS store is run like a real business for small business customers. After my local UPS store and another near-by UPS store told me that UPS pickup would be at the normal time on the day before Thanksgiving and there would be no UPS pickup on the after Thanksgiving, I took my package to my UPS store only to find it CLOSED. Other customers were waiting outside the store looking perplexed too! I went to this Meridian UPS Store and the employee/owner told me that while I just missed the UPS pickup, UPS sent and email to the UPS Stores to tell them that this year they WOULD be picking up on Friday after Thanksgiving so I left my package. UPS picked up my package on Friday just like the employee/owner told me! My local UPS store was closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving. read more

DO NOT entrust valuable pieces to be shipped by this location!!! I paid a TON extra to extra carefully wrap and ship an antique crib. I also paid extra to insure it. This crib - which has belonged to 4 generations of my family - arrived broken. UPS Store on Meridian had not adequately wrapped it, nor carefully shipped it. UPS supposedly "investigated" the issue (mostly a game of run-around not answering phone tag) and refused even the insurance (that I paid for extra) so that we could have someone restore it because my new-mom-sister had thrown away some of the packaging by the time they got around to calling her weeks later. The manager didn't even have the guts to call me himself - shoved it off on some poor answer the phone lady who couldn't have cared less about the situation. DO NOT SHIP valuable items through this location. They are sloppy, careless, and have no sense of responsibility if they break things - they won't even pay out the insurance paid for extra. read more

The UPS Store #1762 on Meridian in San Jose is a snake pit. In short this store takes no responsibility for anything that goes wrong, which is highly likely when UPS and their store operators deny and refuse any and all levels of responsibility for failures associated with either packing and/or shipping. In my own case, UPS and UPS Store #1762 became predators and derelicts without forking over an EXTRA $25 for gawd knows what -- my box was prepared and only needed something to seal the flaps, and rather than accept the two dollars I offered for a few inches of tape, the clerk just grabbed it and threw it aside and said he'd "take care of it", and when I said WTF it's not even sealed, he assured me he was aware and would take care of it. UPS is hiding behind its UPS Store franchise and denying all claims of responsibility even when failures are conspicuously theirs. UPS won't even extend the courtesy of a refund for a shipping charge even when there's been damage or loss of product shipped. I found UPS and their so-called independent UPS Stores to be absolutely irresponsible when it comes to owning up to failures of performance and dereliction of duties. Henceforth, I will never do business with UPS or their bogus independent Stores if I can avoid it. read more

I have been a box holder at this UPS Store for years. The team here is outstanding. They are very reliable and care about their customers. I hope people will take the handful of complaining reviews with a grain of salt, because they seem to come from one-time customers who apparently have low threshold for the occasional imperfection. In my years of experience, I have found that Avtar and his crew have competence, care, and humanity that far outweighs the occasional mistake that invariably occurs (though frankly I cannot even remember any mistake at this UPS Store). Went into The UPS Store to ship my sons iPhone. When it was my turn at the counter a very polite and pleasant your man helped me. I was asking how much for boxes to ship my items. The owner kept chiming in on our conversation getting flustered at me for all my questions. After getting the box I wanted to ship my item in, I went back to the counter to get pricing, but instead of the young man helping, it was the owner. The owner of the franchise lost his patience rather quickly and was unprofessional and was acting like I was wasting his time by asking the price difference between ground and 2 days shipping. He then told me to go wait in the corner of the store while I taped my package instead of ringing me up for the shipping. The entire experience with the Owner was one of rudeness, disrespectful and impolite. I ended up just walking out and going to the UPS store on Bascom Avenue where I had a totally difference experience and much cheaper to ship. read more
