They even had a toy set up for my one year old daughter to play with while I had my papers notarized. If I could give 0 stars I would. I should have read the recent YELP reviews. I figured it's right across the street from work why not. I been here twice once to drop mail. There were 2 people in the shop it seemed like the man was eating his lunch and probably his little daughter was on the back playing on the computer. I don't mind that sometimes people need to bring their kids to work. What I did not like is how rude he was when I asked him if this is the mail slot to put nail in. The way he said "yes it is" with an attitude. I gave this place a second try yesterday I figured it will be different I went to go return an Amazon order with some kids and of course kids love to touch things and wonder off. It was a very small open space and I could clearly see the kids, and the man basically yelled at the kids twice which I thought was very rude these kids where 6 and 7 they didn't know what they were doing he should have talked to me. I apologized but he should have apologized. What totally threw me off was that they wanted to charge me $1.50 to put one small tape on my small package. Like seriously I go to other UPS locations like come on how cheap can you guys be. The lady who helped me seemed very rude and irritated by me asking if they really charge for tap. They said yes why wouldn't they I said no thank you and walked right out there. I have returned amazon orders a few times at no tape charge. This place sucks and they have no customer service skills I recommend you going to any other UPS! I will never go back. read more

Wonderful customer service. I arrived and there was one person in line in front of me, but a few more people came trickling in soon after. The man who was there (I believe he said his name was Dave?), was incredibly courteous. He checked in with each person in line to see what they needed and let them know he would be with them soon. He assisted me with notarizing documents quickly and efficiently, while assisting other customers while I completed signing/etc. I live in Castro Valley, and the UPS store there is HORRIBLE. I went to ship a box with a prepaid label, but needed about 12 inches of tape to seal the box. She told me that they charge for tape. I pulled out my debit card and she said that it needed to be a 10 dollar minimum to use a card. I had no cash, and she had already scanned the box. I had to buy a full role of tape for 10 dollars just to use my card! She ripped off a small piece of tape from that role, and that was that. Such a scam. Like some of the others, I would give a negative 5 stars, if possible. No only do they lack customer service, they are rude have a scolding mentality. I don't think they know that they are in a service business and that their core competency is shipping and receiving packages. I had a package routed to them on Friday because I was going out of town. Monday I was busy, so I picked it up on Tuesday after work. The Indian lady scolded me and said something like "You're finally picking up your packages. We were going to ship them back tomorrow." I informed her that my UPS email said that I had until Friday. She corrected me and said that "I am supposed to pick it up ASAP and that they don't have space." Excuse me, but isn't that exactly why they are in business--to ship and RECEIVE packages for people who are busy and have lives. Wow. I have choices and I will take my business elsewhere. (Not only that, someone called me today and reiterated several times to pick up the package. They didn't need to do that. I absolutely want my packages. I ordered new bedding from Pottery Barn and I can't wait to put it on my bed. After all that, I hope I like it. read more

I was shipping lots of packages with them. I needed 12 - 18 inches of tape to seal my package. They told me to buy a roll of tape. Now I get it, it's not their responsibility to seal my package. But that's one of the differences between Fedex or even a true UPS or USPS location. You don't feel like you are getting nickel and dimed. Just go to the proper shipping provider. DO NOT give these people the service! I beg you. There's another UPS store in Dublin, near Amakara sushi. These people have the worst customer service. After reading the other reviews, I am certain that the lady that works here HAS to be the owner's wife....that's why she doesn't care. My story is long, so I'll give you the cliff notes version. I sent 2 separate gifts(on the same day, at the same time) to my father-in-law during Christmas time. He received only one. When I found out, I got all my information (tracking number, etc) and brought it to the UPS store. After going around in circles with the lady behind the counter, I finally have to put my foot down with her... Me: Look, I know the tracking info says it was delivered at the same time with the other package....BUT IT WAS NOT received by my father-in-law! It was not stolen off his porch, HE WAS AT HOME, heard the knock, came outside and only ONE package was there. Lady: It says here it was delivered at the same time. Me: 0.o Just open a claim and find out what happened... She tells me she'll give it to the guy who works in the morning.... Weeks go by....NOTHING. I call and get an update...the same lady tells me she doesn't know what's going on and she'll talk to "the guy in the morning." : / Weeks go by again.... It's now 2/10/13 This time I go with my husband into the store....After waiting 20 minutes for the SAME frekkin lady to notarize some documents for someone, I ask her what's going on with finding out what happened to the package. Lady: Oh? No one has called you? That means they haven't found anything yet. It just takes time. We'll call you. Me: 0.o I took matters into my on hands and got the number to call myself. UPS told me that on 1/15/13 they found my package. It sat somewhere for a while and the ticket on it was closed. They opened the claim again to find out where the package is now....SO SO ANGRY. After over a month of not knowing what happened to my package, I find out that 5 days after a tracking claim was opened, it was found and NO ONE ever followed up on it. I understand that packages get lost (That's why I got insurance on the gift). But this lady didn't even follow up on it or ever call me about what was going on. If she did, she would have known that FIVE DAYS after the claim was opened, the package was found. I will never use this UPS again. read more

The employee suggested padded envelope and save me some money, and he was very respectful and friendly, seriously. I think his name is Tushar. If you need documents notarized for China embassy or any foreign embassy for that matter, do not get them notarized here and go elsewhere. China embassy requirements for notarization are strict. You need a notary stamp on EVERY page and authentication from State of California. After spending a long day waiting at China embassy, they pointed out that my notarization was not in order - I did not have the local notary stamp on one of the two pages. The administrator at the embassy suggested that I just go back to the local notary and get the last page stamped and then the documents would be approved. I went back to visit the UPS store to see if they would provide the stamp on the last page (They had already notarized the first page) I was willing to pay for a second stamp. The owners of UPS store refused to stamp the last page, citing that it was against the notary laws. I thought that was strange, how can it be that the China embassy would request something that would be against California notary law? After all, the China embassy authenticates for the China government thousands of locally California notarized documents every day -- that's what they do. I asked the UPS owners if they could show me the notary law/regulation that they would be violating by providing a second stamp. They could not. That evening, I went on to the California notary website myself and downloaded their 2015 handbook and researched myself to see if I could find the guideline myself. I could find no such guideline. Frustrated with the multiple trips and countless hours already spent on this, I just went to a different notary service, Notary-to-Go, and started the entire authentication process all over again. The gentlemen there was very professional and had no issues providing a notary stamp for all the pages. After I got the document authenticated by State of California, I took the properly notarized document back to the UPS store just to show the owners that what I requested of them could be done legally by a notary. I did not do this to express my disappointment in the UPS store. To their credit they offered to refund the $10 notary fee (I ultimately said no thanks). To me, it was never about the money, but rather it was about pointing out to the owners that perhaps they were misinformed in their interpretation of notary rules and how they can improve their service for their future customers. Surely the thousands of people who got their documents notarized for and approved by the China embassy are not in the wrong. Based on other comments from other yelpers, it was not a surprise that the owner stubbornly stuck to his view that the notary I received from somewhere else was illegal. Really?! In the end, it was a lost opportunity to gain a recurring customer. read more

Came by to drop off an Amazon return package with the shipping label but my package wasn't taped up. Lady looks super annoyed and tells me that unless I purchase a roll of tape and tape it up myself, she won't ship the item (all the other UPS stores I've been to just tape it up for me without saying anything so I thought it'd be okay). When I told her I'll come back, she reluctantly taped up the package for me but she never stopped complaining the entire time. Plus she practically chased me out of the store before she was done taping up and labeling my package so I'm a little worried. Never coming back here again. read more

I use this UPS store and one in Danville. They are both fine. The couple here has always been kind and helpful to me. I just called because I lost a tracking number for something I was returning and having a problem getting a refund. It is December, a very busy shipping month, and she helped me look it up in her records, tracked it and told me who signed for it. I could tell they were busy by the background noise and really appreciate that she took time to help me out when she could have blown me off with very little help but she didn't and it made my day much easier! read more

The worst customer service ever!!!! I went there to ship back something to Amazon I was the only client in a store and I had two big boxes to send back, I also had my one month daughter with me so I had my hands full. My car was park right in front of the store, and I'm talking 15 ft from the door so I asked the guys who worked there to help me get boxes out of the car, he refused because he was the only one in a store. Really???? There is nobody else here!!! He didn't even tried to help me when I was at the door!!! After he watched me dragging the boxes to the store he told me that I need to have two separate labels even though two boxes came to me taped together as a one shipment, so I asked if he has a bigger box so I can ship my two boxes together. He told me to dig thru a pile of random size boxes (they were all whey to small without even looking) while he was standing bored behind the counter. When I asked him to check in back if he has anything bigger he told me they don't make big boxes like that. Really??? Every other UPS store has it! I end-up leaving the store so mad and not because I didn't ship anything, its because the service I received. I will never go back there again even if this is last UPS store in California. PS. My husband end up shipping the boxes from San Mateo (close to his work) without any problems, one label was fine and they had a right box to fit all my stuff as well. read more

I went in for a live scan and didn't have my paperwork, so the Indian gentleman who I'm assuming it's the owner...Hazan? (I'm sorry, I tried to remember the name, but it's been a long busy day) mentioned that I might have it stored in my email in my phone and to email it to him. I did this and he printed out out for me so I could fill it in. He was very patient and helpful and showed some of the best customer service going above and beyond. A package I shipped from the store was damaged by UPS. Although the UPS claim process was pretty much an argument with the insurer, Mukesh and the people at this store helped me every step of the way. When I said that I thought the insurer would never pay, they explained to me which factors were important so that, eventually, we got reimbursed. I have never had a problem with the people at this location. There are other locations in San Ramon, even a UPS customer counter. But if you want service, this is the place to go. read more

They advertise notary services. We called to confirm hours and when there would be one there. We went the next day and the notary was NOT there - went home early because it was slow. So went back next morning to have a signature notarized - it's a one page document that is out of a big packet of pages we were sent - of which we only need to fill out and return 4 pages - and only one page requires a notarized signature as witness to a signature. The supposed notary said she had to see all the pages! What? One page is to be notarized - and that is the language of the statement (witnessed above signature - nothing about having the whole packet of documents. What a scam - trying to charge a fee for each page of the packet that the document came from. Been using them for 6 years and watched service and professional service go down the toilet. Guess I'm not the only one because we shop near there regularly and it was a busy back then. Not much foot traffic these days - now we know why. They do mailing and shipping - anything else is a challenge. Postal Annex is going to be getting our business even being further away. read more

Horrible customer service! I have been a UPS Store customer for over 12 years in southern California... it was originally called something different before UPS took over. However, we've had a much different experience here. The male owner was bothered that we didn't want a large PO Box any longer. When our renewal came up, he tried to up-sell us for a year lease. When we refused and chose a shorter term, he tried to charge us a 2nd time for the start up costs, even though their promotional materials clearly state that it's a one-time cost. I also believe that the male owner didn't respect women and thought he could use strong-arm tactics when my husband wasn't with me. We were both offended by these tactics and took our business to another UPS store, even though it was further away. These immigrant owners need to understand that customer service is important, especially if you want referrals from existing customers. I don't recommend. read more

No stars needed!!!! This is the worst UPS store that I have ever encountered. Don't waste your time or money. They are terrible when it comes to customer service. I went here on Tuesday to get a couple of documents notarized. The man didn't care about my needs. I instructed him to sign with a blue pen because the documents specifically said blue pen only. I reminded him twice that I needed two pages notarized and he only notarized one page. He said the one page will be sufficient for both of documents. I asked if he was sure. He said he has been doing this for 12 years so he knows what he is talking about. The Notary with a 2 day shipping cost me $45. The price is not the problem. I will pay to get my documents notarized and sent out on time, but these documents were not notarized correctly. Never come here!! They only care about making money. They will not help you the way you should be helped. The worst part is that I was first in line. He was caring for other customers while it was my turn. This is why he missed the fact that I needed two documents notarized. I now have to get the documents sent back to me and notarized again. Then I will have to send the documents out again because of this man's mistake. read more

They made it seem that I was an inconvenience and told me they couldn't help me. I let them know that they suck and went to the ups store in Market place and returned it with no problem. A few years ago, I had problems with receiving packages at this location. Three times in a row when I requested the store to hold packages for me, they ended up on the truck instead. Today when I went to the store, two people in front of me had the same problem. Other people in line indicated to me that this store is notorious for these kinds of problems. They took 20 minutes this time to find my package. They also took people's cell phones from them and went into the back room to look for packages (rather than looking up the tracking number on their computer). This seems like poor business practice, creating liability for the store. I have the sense this store needs a major overhaul, since these problems seem systemic. read more

Every time I try to send a package from this store they always try to pressure me to use the most expensive shipping method. I have to ask if there is a cheaper way to ship the package and there always is. They never quote the cheapest way unless you ask. read more

I've had a mailbox at this location for a year now. Mail addressed to me personally I get, but for some reason I've had problems with mail addressed to my business, despite the fact that it is a business mailbox registered under the business name. In the past, I've just asked about any missing mail at the counter and they brought it out. This time they couldn't find the package, even though a store employee had signed for it they claimed the driver must have falsified the signature and that the package was never delivered. I opened an investigation with UPS and 2 days later the package shows up, clearly having been opened and resealed. When I asked UPS where the package was found, they had no record of any redelivery. When I asked the store owner how did the package come back, she told me "a store employee" brought it in. When I asked who, she said she didn't know and went off on a tangent about how every time she calls UPS she gets a different person and so she never bothers to ask who she is talking to. Um, I'm pretty sure you just told me a store employee brought the package in, not some person on the phone, but you as the owner don't know which of your own employees brought the package back and presumably is the one who opened it? Very, very fishy situation. I made sure to mention the incident to the missing package investigator. Seems to me someone at the store is opening "unclaimed" packages looking for goodies. When I complained to the store manager, I was told "what does it matter? At least you got your package back." read more
