TL;DR - Bad attitude from employees. I shipped a package from this store and it ended up being delivered to the wrong address. No problem, things happen, so I called to resolve the situation. All I wanted to do was figure out how to fix it, but the woman who answered the phone repeatedly suggested that it was my own fault because I had every opportunity to confirm the delivery address on the receipt. I had to specifically ask her to stop instigating an argument with me and just help me resolve the situation. Wouldn't it have been better to accept just a little responsibility, and perhaps even apologize, rather than being so rude? That's probably the only skill you really need to work at a crummy job like this and even that's too much. Save yourself the aggravation and ship from somewhere else. read more

I highly recommend this place for their notary services: 10 bucks per signature, very friendly, fast, and available to notarize on a Saturday...which is a little tricky to find. AND there's a parking lot behind the building, so parking is free. Not for nothing, everyone who worked there was very attractive. read more

Walked in and was immediately greeted by a Notary. I showed her my license, the document and withing 5 minutes I was out the door. It doesn't get any simpler than that!! They also make keys here which I think is pretty damn cool. I don't know about their shipping service. read more

Great operation! Mailed large paintings across the country...pack extremely well with great communication via email and shipping. Also was willing to call the receiving ups to resolve an issue when they dropped off a package that I paid for signature required and they failed to do that. read more

No stars for this place- Forget that they don't take UPS Shipper numbers. And forget that they charge .50 cents for a piece of tape. These people are Mean and Rude. The owner and all of her employees could care less about their community or their business ethics. Literally THE WORST mailbox service center I have every experienced. I have worked for many employers who use a mailbox service for privacy. I go to this store every morning and every afternoon to retrieve mail for my current employer. This store has THE WORST customer service. With the exception of maybe 1 staff member, they have all been confrontational and incredibly rude to me and my co-workers on a NUMBER of occasions. They are never prepared to open at 9am. Meaning, if your store opens at 9am and you have boxes and mail waiting to be distributed into mailboxes, it is the responsibility of the store and its employees to arrive early and get everything sorted before they open. I have been told, straight out, that I have to come back AFTER 1pm in order to get my employers packages. We PAY for this mailbox and this service and they are not providing a service worth paying for. They can't be bothered to do their jobs and they could care less about their customers. read more

Went to the ups store to mail a Mother's Day package late Friday. I was told that they will try everything they can to get it there on time but because of the time I came in it can't be guaranteed. I was shocked when I received a call Sunday thanking me for the nice gift that I sent. These guys went out of the way to make my Mother's Day surprise happen. If you are in a hurry I would try to find another UPS store to go to. They are generally quite slow and don't know their equipment very well. I was stuck there for almost half an hour while they tried to figure out how to copy my legal sized documents correctly. Then they tried to overcharge me but I caught on and made them fix it. stay away from ups store on 1223 wilshire blvd santa monica, ca 90403. from owner sherry to employees @ 1223 wilshire blvd santa monica, ca 90403 are rude and arrogant. i opened a box with them almost 2 years ago. they always been rude but this time they really have done it. the first time i realized what a mistake i had made (but it was too late) was when there was no mail in my box instated there was a yellow paper saying my account is over due. i go to the counter and i said "there must be a mistake my account is up to date i paid for 3 month 2 weeks ago." sherry (owner) said "there is no mistake the mistake is you think we will give your mail if you don't pay" i was shocked. i said "no i paid by credit card" i logged into my bank from my phone and showed her the transaction. she looked at her paper work found my recipe under different box # now do you think she apologized no... she said "ok you are fine then here is your mail." unbelievable. now i have moved to san francisco, i left money there for my mail to be forward. all the money has been used. i called asked them to take my credit card info to charge me for necessary amount and forward my mail to me. one of her arrogant and rude employee (following the owner foot steps) name "robert" said we don't take credit card sends us a check. i explained i just moved here and have not set up any checking yet. he said 'you can't have your mail then until you do' and he hanged up the phone. this week i called and the owner (sherry) answered the phone. i told her the money in the account for forwarding is low and i like to add $$$ to get my mail but i was told i cant pay by credit card. she said "humm probably you talked to a new employee who didn't know and you didn't explain it to him well. yes you can do it. what is your box no?" i gave her my box no she put me on hold comes back after 2 min and start lecturing me on how they can not do me a favor . and i should not expect favors. i said favor i am paying for this service is a service yu provide how is it a favor. then she said they do not take credit cards and i must mail a check "you have two options only, one come back to los angeles and pick up your mail or mail us a check. did you mail us a check as we told you to do so?" i said "i just explain to you i just set up my banking up here and do not have checks as of yet. how ever if you fax me a credit card form i will provide you with all necessary info i need my mail. "then when i thought she can not be more rude and arrogant she top herself "if you are not willing to understand i cant talk to you" and she hang up the phone. they are holding my mail as a hostage just because she does not want to admit her employee messed up and to protect him she is will to go to court. do not get a box there. you will be stock like me. i should have read these review 2 years ago before getting a box there. read more

Worst customer-service experience ever at this place! I experienced nothing but rude, unprofessional people here today who clearly choose to part of the problem rather than being part of the solution. I got the total run-around today and was given incorrect information causing wasted time for everyone involved. Then I was left standing in the store for several minutes without anyone helping me at all. When I asked for the lady's name that originally gave me the incorrect info, nobody would give me her name or go and get her. She wouldn't even come and talk to me and kept helping other people. In the end, I had to walk over to her and ask her name. She apologized but very rudely with a horrible attitude and said "people make mistakes." They are consistently rude here. THe worst is Nuria who I got into a yelling match with because she told me I was lying when I told her a package was delivered for me and they found it 4 months later hidden in the back somewhere. They lose stuff, are rude, charge for ridiculous things. Everytime I go in there they are fighting with customers. He was unable to communicate clearly some information I needed, then became impatient and asked me to step out of line. INCOMPETENCE, UNRELIABILITY, UNRESPONSIVENESS, and DISRESPECT pretty much sums up this establishment. They've not only tarnished the UPS name, but the UPS employees, especially the manager, who work there have treated me with both disregard and abuse in my every attempt to receive a package that was never delivered to me. On May 6, 2010, I mailed a package worth over $800 dollars from the UPS Store #513 in Santa Monica, CA and to this date, I have never received my package. I mailed the package to myself c/o my roommate, as I had been traveling for 5 months for work and needed to mail heavy winter coats, hiking boots, gifts, etc. back to my home in NYC, so I would not have to drag them with me as I continued flying from city to city for work. My roommate was made aware by me that the package would be coming and agreed she would wait one day to receive it. She waited the entire day on the second delivery attempt and no one showed up. I then received a call from the UPS store #513 on May 28th while in Chicago stating that my package was at their store at 1223 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA for me to pick up. When I called the UPS store, shocked that my package was never delivered, I met immediate resistance and rudeness from the manager, Sherry Quay. She would not even listen to my explanation that no one showed up the day my roommate waited. She became so argumentative that I had to literally ask her to stop trying to start an argument with me and direct me to a manager or phone number where someone was willing to actually listen to me and help me. She continued to be argumentative, abusive, and continued to cut me off; repeatedly complaining to me that her store wasn't' going to lose money redelivering the package to me and that I would have to pay another $56 dollars for my package to be delivered. She continued that the lack of delivery wasn't her fault; that 'her stores only job is to prepare the package to go into UPS Corporate's hands for delivery and that if anyone was to pay for the redelivery it would need to be UPS Corporate; not her.' When I tried to talk she wouldn't listen to me, so I had to reach out to UPS Corporation. I spent at least a week & half with representatives who continued to tell me they couldn't help me and that the UPS Store aka. Sherry Quay was responsible for redelivering the package because she put her store's information as the return address, instead of the return address I wrote (which was my home address in NYC and the EXACT SAME ADDRESS AS THE DELIVERY ADDRESS.) For an entire month both the UPS Store establishment & UPS Corporation have given me the run around, pointing the blame at each other instead of resending my package. I have been extremely ill and in and out of the hospital recently. When I finally came home from the hospital, I found a letter from Sherry Quay threatening to DONATE MY THINGS TO A CHARITY BECAUSE MY PACKAGE WAS FOUND UNDELIVERABLE. Now this is all after weeks of MY CONTINUOUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THIS SITUATION FIXED AND MY PACKAGE REDELIVERED. Still ill and very upset, I called Tracey Buckley, the region manager, and told her about my sickness and the unsympathetic and disrespectful ways her company's employees acted, threatening to give away the things I entrusted with them to deliver to me . Now as far as the non-delivery and my roommate's continuous defense that no one delivered it or informed her of the delivery: on our route in Harlem, NY, they don't leave notices filled out properly. Around the time I went to the hospital, I bought an item online with a company that happened to use UPS. On the June 9th notice, the delivery guy wrote my name as FANNY, which is NOT MY NAME. He then, NEVER PUT A DAY OR TIME OF REDELIVERY. If this is the quality of communication of the UPS staff in my area no receiver of a package will ever know when to wait or expect a package because the deliverymen are not properly doing their jobs. I finally spoke to Tracey Buckley a few days ago, and when I made her aware of this. She actually excused the employees behavior stating that most guys on the route don't leave the information of when they will redeliver the package. I rebutted her statement, asking how I as a customer am supposed to ever know when a package is going to be delivered if you don't even give me a day and time of your arrival? Additionally, I have evidence that that statement is not true. My colleague mailed me a UPS Notice that she received in Culver City, CA. where everything is filled out properly which I sent to them. I don't know if it's because I live in Harlem that it is deemed ok to give me less than satisfactory service and then demand that I pay for these horrible services and mistreatment again, but I am baffled by the difference in Company & employee behavior for the same services in majority white neighborhoods, as opposed to black ones. In all, I have never, ever felt so mistreated by a company before. read more

When I had a package that was supposed to be delivered by 10:30 get lost, he told me I had a "bad attitude" for complaining. He could not have been less helpful or more rude. Below average service, bad attitude. Every time I go here, it's unapologetically slow, or if it happens to be empty, the attitude and service are still bad. They are only interested in selling their shipping materials and never have any FREE, pre-printed boxes or envelopes from UPS. I would really prefer to use ups over FedEx, because I like the way UPS treats its employees better and I think they're a better company, but fedex's rates are the same, and they make packing materials readily available for free. Also, not sure if FedEx stores are franchises or owned by FedEx, but their service is consistently more helpful than the UPS franchise stores. Will try to avoid returning, even though they are 3 blocks from my house. read more

Been here multiple times in the last week for returns/exchanges and receiving packages from family and have never experienced such horrible service and rude employees. Everything is a challenging and harrowing process for them. If a customer makes a single mistake, instead of being helpful they're just bullies. I had two packages sent to the store from home because my address isn't a secure place to leave packages. Every time I come in I wait for 20 minutes in line then they legitimately yell at me for not having the tracking number, which the UPS store I sent it from never said I needed. They've said they can't and won't look for the package in the back by my name. There is currently nobody in the store and the front desk employee is incredibly rattled and yelling at me and saying he doesn't have time for this and for me to call UPS corporate. I understand if the computer won't allow him to look up my name, but he hasn't spent more than 5 seconds looking for it. All he's done is be extremely aggressive towards me and yell at me in front of everyone in the store saying "NO, NO, I NEED THE TRACKING NUMBER. SORRY". He has zero social skills and no regard for customer service. This place is hell. read more
