We have a small business and use The UPS Store 2-3 times a week for package delivery. This had to be the worst experience ever in this sort of store. The Manager/Owner/Whatever had to be the most condescending person I have ever met. If there are certain things you don't honor in your store, simply post it and do away with the condescending explanation of why you don't honor your corporate coupons. It wasn't even a huge savings, but the attitude by this guy was incredible. Definitely will avoid this place and go to other locations or just suck it up and go to the Post Office. read more

The manager is always very helpful. I had two guitars to ship and they helped me pack them up nicely. I also really appreciate that they do not force masks. If you want to wear one great, but it is not a requirement to enter their store. I apparently feel the same way about masks as they do, they don't work, so don't force people to wear them to touch their face and then touch the door that everyone else does. AVOID THIS STORE. There's a good reason why this store is rated so low. Their prices are insane and the manager's attitude is terrible. I needed one piece of paper printed, in black and white no less. I was charged $3.75, not even kidding you. When I tried to ask about it the bald service guy gave me so much attitude and tried to pass off their outrageous price as a political gesture "it's because minimum wage is now $15". I wish giving a ZERO was an option. I needed a document notarized and the person at my bank was on vacation. Unfortunately, my bank recommended this $h1T$How. This place refused to notarize my document. Some old man attempted to "school" me with his extensive education in law and then spread his legs and stuck his rear end out. ??? Ewww. Then the notary came out with a nasty demeanor to sign another document and then ASKED me where he should sign and stamp it. What's more, he notarized the wrong page. Stupid and rude. I had to pay another- more qualified- notary to do it right. Then he practically threw the receipt at me after I paid to be treated like garbage. I will never use this store for anything! Not to ship a package and certainly not to get a document notarized! Don't waster your time here, find a different store. read more

I needed a notary, in a hurry, to notarize an automobile title before the purchaser arrived at our house to pick up his new car...on a Saturday. Raced off to my Chase branch and was told they were "too busy" to help. Went to another Chase branch and was told I needed to make an appointment even though the branch was empty. So I went to the UPS Store on the corner of N. Scottsdale and Carefree Hwy and the manager couldn't have been more helpful and professional and appreciated my business. I have been using this UPS store for 23 years and will continue to do so. The staff is terrific often having my mail as I walk through the door, making me feel like a friend. They are efficient and knowledgeable and ALWAYS professional. The array of services is excellent, the store is clean and they always recognize the next person to be taken care of in the store. The management is superior and they are doing their best with the current Covid restrictions. We all must understand that the employees do not wear a badge and the store has appropriate signage up for wearing masks. Brusque as always (which I have become accustomed to), when I stopped by today I was disappointed that neither employee was wearing a mask, though each one did have a mask dangling from one ear. If these guys want to get sick themselves, that is their business, but I would prefer to shop at stores that are more interested in protecting me. I have done business with this UPS store for nine years as the go-to place for my business. I have spent thousands of dollars and he has handled all my shipments. I have never had a shipment go missing. When there have been delays, Mark has gone out of his way to find and track it down. This is the only UPS store that always has solutions for my packaging needs. Mark will even make custom crates and will ship anything for you. It's always great to have him on your side versus trying to deal direct with UPS. Finally, all of his employees are very polite and act in a professional manner. Overpriced with major attitude! The owner of this location took such advantage of two shipments from here to Montana. Each year I have to ship items for a business show in the far away town of Great Falls. I have shipped the same banners and a very large hat (Weird, I know) to the same place in Great Falls. Last year these two shipments cost $22 for the banners and $14 for the hat. They shipped ground. This year I was running late and had my husband drop these items off. First they repacked both items into MUCH larger boxes. Then due to time constraints sent them 2 day. Once box cost $163, the other box $135. REALLY? Now granted my husband could have called me and said "Is this necessary?" I would have told him to get our of that place FAST. But neither my dear husband, following my instructions, or the store owner thought that over $300 was a ridiculous cost. When I left Montana, I shipped the hat in it's original box back to AZ by Fed Ex for $12, arrived in 3 days. The banners cost $18 (in a new box) and also arrived by Fed Ex in 3 days. Needless to say, when I asked the UPS store owner today why he would think this seemed logical. His response was simply, "this is what your husband told us to do." I think he is a greedy old guy who knows people in Carefree have money to burn so repackaging items into much larger boxes and charging them a fortune is what he's all about. So if you want to spend your money wisely, go anywhere else but stay away from this place. read more

I recently had a great experience at this UPS store. I needed to send a heavy wood tack trunk to a stable outside of Seattle for my daughter, and I expected the cost to be prohibitive. The young lady who initially helped me wrote down all of the information and said the manager would call me, which he did exactly at the time she said he would. He was very friendly and offered me two options within their freight division, being careful to note this 18-wheel truck might not be able to traverse the country road to the stable. Those prices were prohibitive. He then suggested UPS ground, researched the price, which was acceptable, came to my house, picked it up, wrapped it all up in bubble wrap and plastic wrap, and off it went! If I could give no stars, I would. I know this is long, but boy what an experience!! I couldn't possibly shorten any of this. I shipped a box from here to Washington state in the first week of January, 3 day ground. First Problem: It arrived 3 days late. Second Problem: I called them to find out why it took so long, but after a couple of hours trying to reach them, I had to leave a message on their machine since no one would answer the phone. After 2 days of waiting for a return call, I finally just went back in to the store. The only good part of my Experience: I spoke with a very nice young man, Brendan, who looked into my shipment via the tracking number. He said that he would have to open an "Investigation Ticket" since he could see no visible reason (looking at the tracking history of the package on the computer) for it being so late, but the most likely reason would be "the weather". Third Problem (and the reason for this post): Towards the end of Brendan's explanation an older man (the manager, I think) inserted himself into our conversation and began questioning Brendan about whether he checked "this", and did he check "that" (yes, he checked everything!). He then began, what I felt was, a verbal attack on me. Didn't I know that that there was severe weather going on? Rain, sleet, snow? Didn't I know that there were mudslides and landslides happening on the entire Western seaboard? Didn't I know that they weren't responsible for "An act of God"? When he finally paused here I said, "You mean, the weather?" And he goes, "Yes, an act of god." So I said, "You are talking about the weather, right?" And then he's, not yelling, per se, but speaking very sternly at me, "It's printed in our contract, THAT YOU SIGNED, that we are not liable for delivery times when impeded by an act of god!" So again, I calmly said, "You mean, the weather?" I thought he was going to blow a gasket! So then he says to me, "What are you, an Atheist?" Poor Brendan..... he just looked as sincerely shocked as I was. At this point I thanked him for his time and turned to walk out of the store. His parting words to me were, "Have a nice day". I have come across rude customer service people in the past, I mean, who hasn't in this day and age? But I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever been compelled to write a post on social media about it. I will certainly never give this UPS store my business or money ever again. Based on my experience I recommend that you don't either. My next letter will be going to file a complaint against this man with their corporate office. read more

I have been using ups for mail boxes and shipping for a very long time all over the country but I can safely say that this store is by far the best one I have been using. I had a very important document to send out and there was an issue regarding delivery on the other end. The owner, Mark, made sure the document still make it on time and he really went above and beyond to resolve this matter. Not to mention, he even got me a refund that I wasn't even asking for.
