I have been to 4 different UPS stores over the last few years. This store was by-far the such a disappointing experience compared to any of the others. I was greeted when I walked through the door by one employee who directed me to put my large box on the end of the counter. I did. The other employee who assisted me seemed to be in a bad mood and did not hide it very well. I apparently did not hit the sweet spot on the counter and was asked to move the box closer to his scanner. By closer, I mean 6 inches. At the time I had another box in my hands and it seemed he could have easily moved the box. I complied, he scanned that box, removed it from the counter, turned back to me, and stared. I placed my next box on the counter and told the "gentleman" behind the counter I needed to ship this one. He was rude throughout this whole transaction, while I was scanning my credit card he labeled the box and flipped it over. He asked me to verify the address and I said, "That might be difficult, you covered up the label I placed on the box". His response "No I did not". He stood there and stared. I flipped the box over and saw my label which was now on the bottom. I verified the address, he pushed my paperwork at me and stood back, and stared. I have been using this UPS location for years and am always so pleased with the service I receive. Kevin is professional, friendly and helpful. They offer shipping and other services. When I need flyers or other presentation materials printed, I can email ahead of time and everything is ready when I get there. Simple and easy! They sell packing materials and oversized envelopes so I can always find what I need in a pinch. Don't ship through the UPS store at 1198 PCH, Seal Beach, CA. I paid to have extra insurance on a box I sent to myself. Mom just passed away & there were some things I wanted. This was in October & I had the item wrapped very well in bubble wrap along with other things that didn't need to be wrapped but added some extra bubble channels to make sure nothing moved. I wrote fragile on box & asked Dylan to put their red fragile stickers on-he said he would but didn't. Long story short-I dealt with corporate who was no help. I had to repeatedly call as both Seal Beach store & Corporate didn't call back. I was told by corporate that I had been sent a denial due to insufficient packing. Never received that either. Can't even get back the money for extra insurance I paid. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

I would not label this a UPS location. Yea they will send your things but if you are dropping off you may have trouble. I have gone in Here more than once with no one in the place. Door open no employees When you bring in a prepaid shipment their is an annoyance look you get. No big deal I use to think. They work with UPS and they will make sure this is done. Not so on my recent drop off. The young lady took the envelope but it has not been received by UPS. In the past I was able to get a "receipt" but apparently that doesn't matter. Their printing is overpriced as is their shipping. I have checked and I ship a lot. So sorry they don't like prepaids but that is the price of business. Find a ups drop off box. And also find a place where people are nicer. read more

Had to ship 4 large tires across the country. I worked with Kevin, I think he is the owner. But this guy was just great! He and his staff tried lots of different configurations in packaging and finally got the pricing as low as it could be. They made the whole experience very easy for me. If you have anything you want to ship or need shipping services this is definitely the place to go!! read more

Beware of this store on PCH in Seal Beach. Before I left home I measured and weighed my package and went on to UPS.Com to get price. Took package in and was quoted DOUBLE. Left store and took my package to post office. They shipped it same delivery time and even lower than the UPS quote I got on line. I then called customer service, spent 15 minutes with someone and then was told to call the complaint line. Called complaint line and after about 20 minutes the guy took my measurements and quoted me the same price I got on UPS. Com. Here is the kicker: they can not investigate this store because I walked out and did not allow myself to get cheated. Really? I am unable to speak to anyone with authority at UPS. So Execs if you are reading this, you need to do something. I bet they are meeting their sales quotas though! I think you need secret shoppers to go in there. Seriously your customers are being cheated. read more

I thought after 5 years of excellent service the world needs to know about it! Kevin the owner is very professional and personable. I own a small business too and have learned that everything rolls down hill. Kevin's positive energy trickles down to his employees. He knows what customer service is all about. Be careful dealing with this store. Paid for a guaranteed overnight early delivery with UPS. Didn't happen. Package was returned to me. Instead of refunding the charges completely, This joint said: "Oh, they prorate the charges" So it cost me a net 20 bucks to find out that this place is really sub par. read more

Horrible absolutely horrible!!!! Kevin the owner has absolutely no people skills. I rent a box from this location and I'm have package for work deliver he refused them. No phone call to let me know I needed to change my service. He is rude and unable to have a conversation. He is blessed with great employees that try to keep a customers but Kevin insisted on running them out. Never waste your money at this location because not only will you not get your package but your time will be wasted as well!!!!! Can't believe something so simple as mail is so hard for him. I absolutely would have changed my service to business if the option would have been offer by just calling me but Kevin never did. I have had a box here since September of 1991 when it was still Mail Boxes, Etc. In that time I have been through four owners-the first owners-polite and friendly; the second owner, Eric, who was also beyond outstanding; the third owners-who were absolutely awful as I constantly was having problems with missing mailed; and Kevin-who has been wonderful, remembers my name, and puts up with my box overflowing at times since I live out of the area. In fact, he just finished forwarding mail to me since I am ill. It is quite obvious from some of the complaints that there are quite a few folks that have no understanding of how package shipping works, or anything else for that matter. In Sum: The manager of this store, Kevin, is both unprofessional, a liar, and a cheat. A couple months ago, I went to get a live scan (about $95) for EMS. I was not asked to review the inputted information and at the time I was not aware this is standard procedure. A couple weeks later I was called by the EMS department that it had been rejected because the original live scan location incorrectly input the birthdate (born 1993, input as 2013). When I went to the ups store, they denied resubmission or reapplication, stating that I needed to have an email from the government as well as a coding number to resubmit. I obliged, and traveled to Santa Ana to get the information. They resubmitted it, but about a week later it was rejected again because the application had to be reapplied. In addition, upon review of the second inputted information, I found that they imputed the zip code wrong( thus illustrating that Kevin lied about "not manually inputting information). When I asked Kevin, the manager, to reapply free of charge or give me a refund for their mistake, he refused on both accounts. I confronted him calmly about this, and he cussed me out in his own store. So I was out $95 from their mistake. I then went to the ups store off of Seal Beach Blvd, and not only were the employees much nicer, efficient, and followed exact protocol, their fee was $75, $20 less than the other. read more

I went to ship out a feather light blouse I sold on eBay for 14$ and he wanted 14.99$ to ship it from seal beach to Costa Mesa. I never in my life will return to this location again. Don't know what kind of interpersonal conflicts the previous reviewer (Ashley C.) had with this UPS store, but it appears that she's a typical disgruntled former employee. I wouldn't give much credence to her review, since she hasn't provided any other Yelp reviews at all. My review of this store is quite different. I had to move my drop box services from Sign, Seal & Deliver (formerly at 203 Argonne Ave., Long Beach) after that owner went out of business and gave me only 2 days' advanced notice. Thankfully, the transition has been smooth ... thanks to Kevin and his able associates. I've only been receiving mail/packages here for about 3 months, but I have no complaints. I do want to praise Seal Beach UPS for their courteous customer service to me ... I had a broken arm recently, and Kevin helped me place some packages into my car. I was also waiting for an important check to arrive in the mail which was delayed for some reason ... one of Kevin's associates called me on a Saturday (!) to let me know that it had arrived. Worst customer service I have ever encountered, and from the store owner himself. I feel sorry for anyone who works under him. Rude, disrespectful and snappy. His store shipped a very fragile box to my husband and I. Didn't label it as breakable or fragile and 2 of the 3 items in the box showed up shattered. I made a claim through UPS and I was told once the claim was made to stay in touch with the actual store that shipped the box. I have called and called and he either won't return the call or if he is the one to answer gets defensive. He actually hung up on me today as I was trying to get answers about the claim I made. I don't even live in Seal Beach, but if I did, I would NEVER go to this store. Can't believe as an owner of the store you would be that rude and discredit and customers. Disgusting. These were wedding gifts sent to us from family and we are just looking for answers on a time frame. He wasn't helpful. Total bummer. Came here originally to get a PO Box that has an address so I could receive correspondence that is not deliverable to boxes. Then I discovered the friendly atmosphere of the staff here who always welcome me with a hello & recognize me to bring me my packages before I ask for them. I also like the specialty items sold in the store and the computer services. Have always been satisfied with the service & the small town family feeling of the store. Have no reason to shop around.
