Writing a review on a UPS store is not usually my jam, but I wanted to recognize the excellent customer service that I experienced at their location within Simi Valley. When I walked into the store, it was super busy and was expecting to wait, but I was immediately called over, and the staff member walked me through the process. In all actually she did all the work for me: packed the box, got the label and finalized the package. All with a smile and a friendly conversation. I appreciate the customer service had at this location from the minute I walked in till the time I left! This location offers a host of services that include packing, shredding, copying shipping and more. Its a one stop shop! I needed to ship a pair of skis to the Midwest. After going to USPS and a ski shop, I tried this UPS store. They did not have a box sized to ship my oversized item. Michele, the owner, measured the skis and recommended putting together 2 boxes to accommodate the length and width of the skis. Absolutely deceptive advertising on UPS's part, unless this is just a store that tries to not honor the companies coupon. Not sure which. But the UPS Website says absolutely nothing about having to present a physical coupon printed out. ESPECIALLY when responsible businesses are trying to reduce the carbon footprint. The website has a QR code to scan for 15% off and says this store participates, but they REFUSED to accept the QR code from the Website. NOT OKAY GUYS. read more

First, the gentleman helping me was very nice and that's the only reason for two stars. I went to return a package from Amazon that was boxed just not taped. I wasn't sure if they needed to see what was in the box before taping it. That's why I did not do it at home. I cannot believe in this day and age that UPS will charge you two dollars to put two pieces of tape on a box. They know they've got you cornered because you can get back in your car waste that amount of money and gas to go back to your home to tape it or just pay them the two dollars. I used to recommend this local neighborhood business for UPS. Until this morning when it was just simply the last straw. I walked in carrying heavy box and due to that the tape on the top has ripped I simply walked in with my label in hand ready for this to be finished and said, I just need some tape for the top. The woman behind the counter said oh I'm sorry, but I'll have to charge you for the tape. Well, I looked across the counter at the tape gun sitting next to her, I looked at her and said you have to charge me to run a piece of tape over the box? she replied by saying yes UPS wants to make sure that the customer has properly secured their own box. This is a UPS store. Are you trying to tell me that the pick up drivers come in and check each box while simply asking them did the customer close this box? And this box?. In this teenage, it's hard for everybody, but to charge me for a piece of tape in my local neighborhood where I know the people that work there they know me, and we're all just trying to get by a piece of tape isn't something that you should let a customer go for. I didn't make a fuss. I didn't raise my voice, I simply said OK. I will take it to a different UPS store. She snickered and said OK whatever and let me leave. Customer service is in no way what it used to be. I've had trouble at this store lately from rudeness, quick tempers, and there is a list of local Mom, who have sworn that they have had their sons try and get hired by this company when the local owner absolutely will not hire anyone but females. I happen to know that there is a boy who does work there. However, he's a long time hire. The service is gone, not only downhill, but the store needs to remember that this is our local UPS store. We can choose a litany of other stores to drop off our Amazon boxes send our packages, etc.. We choose to use the store. Coming from a customer who has lived here for many years. We choose no more. All over tape. You really should've done better. Charging your longtime customer for a piece of tape across the top, when I know for a fact, your driver is not going to ask whether I put the tape on or you put the tape on with preposterous. read more

Well today at 2:30 I came to try and overnight a check. The man working the counter was unfriendly and downright rude! You could tell he didn't like his job, nor care for the customer. He quoted me 36.95 to overnight a check!!!! Really? He was like I have to weight it, that's what it will cost. Weigh a check???? I left and went to the post office and paid 26.95. I used to come here quite often, and the ladies who usually work here, are very sweet. These new clowns will lose you some business. I hate waiting at the post office, but at least they are friendly. Will not be coming here again, anytime soon. read more

I use this location to send packages out via UPS. I also have my business mail box here since it really close to my house. The staff is always helpful and friendly every time I go in. Of course, if they are too busy helping other customers they can't say hi but I still get a nod of their head as I pass by to check the mailbox. Went to return amazon packages and was told it's self service now because they said amazon returns were taking too much of their time and aren't able to do ups stuff but while I'm doing the self service all four workers just standing there joking around the whole time. Yeah, very busy. Also, another time when I went in, I did the self service which I don't mind if it's busy but no customers were there and the self service machine didn't print out my return label, and apparently everyone decided to come in that moment and I had to stand in the back of the line for a self service machine not to print only to stand in the long line to get an actual label from them. read more

So I normally don't leave reviews these days, bad habit, I know! But for this instance, I had to tell my story. A couple days ago I had to ship out my computer to get fixed by the vender. They provided shipping, but not a box. I brought the machine by itself, and expected a lot of trial and error to get the thing shipped, and that it would be costly... Even worse, I needed to ensure certain parts were covered and that I had a photo of the box. Not only was it not expensive, but the wonderful representative that helped me was extremely patient and understanding. She went out of her way to make the box right, and instead of making me wait, she worked with me to send me photos later so I wouldn't have to return to the store later (or worse, wait till tomorrow). She went above and beyond, responding to me via phone and sending me pictures through an alternative when email was being inconsistent (and not sending anything). Could not ask for anything more. Today your store lost my business when your associate wanted to charge me a packing fee for putting one piece of tape on my box. That decision cost you a lot more than that 14" piece of tape would have cost you. I also run a business and have to make decisions that sometimes disappoint my customers but I am always reasonable and I always weigh the cost/benefit to make sure I am not losing business for minor, petty decisions. read more

Fantastic prices, attentive team that provides excellent customer service and little to no waiting time...I'm never going back to the US Post Office again! A few days before Christmas I went to here to avoid the post office lines and thought I'd have to pay much higher prices. Devin was super helpful and very pleasant! He also shared that their prices tend to be lower for larger packages and he was absolutely right because it was $8 less and delivery was much faster than the post office too. Today I returned with a couple of packages and received the same great customer service, good prices and no waiting in line. Ryan was helpful and also alerted me to AAA discount. I got notified that my envelope sized package arrived at around 12pm and I picked it up around 5PM the same day and was charged an extra $5.00 for holding fees. I called UPS customer service and was informed that the UPS store is privately owned and the owner can charge whatever they want, and UPS has nothing to do with it. I could understand the charge if I left my package overnight or several day, but for 5 hours REALLY. To say the least I will NOT be using this store ever again. read more

Projects uploaded online for printing were not printed on time, or even at all. Staff had no way to check on the order, confirm if it might be printed in the future, or if they had even received the order (they had). Was told I needed to call the next day to figure it all out with someone else because the person who did the printing hadn't been around much in the past couple days. (Anybody else here ever need something on time?) Eventually requested a refund, out of principal mostly because the fee was small, and was told it would take weeks to refund my credit card unless I wanted to go back into the store in person. (Anybody else busy and trying not to add extra errands to their to-do list, especially to correct someone else's mistake?) (Also, anybody else think refunds should be handled efficiently?) Anyway, sent the same files to FedEx on Tapo Canyon and they printed them correctly within a couple hours. Highly recommend them instead...they've been consistently fantastic. read more

I have been using this location to send overnight packages all over the country and they are awesome. They are efficient and professional. I like it so much I wrote a poem about it. Went to have a letter notarized on Friday at 3:00 after listening to their message stating notary will be there until 6:00, she's already left for the day. Was told to return Saturday at 12 (message said 8:30-3:00 on Saturdays). Returned on Saturday to be told she wasn't coming in. I had tried to call on Friday to make an appointment and verify someone would be in but after pressing 9 to talk to someone it'd play a message about the company then hang up. I tried more than once. Whomever was working 5/27/23 in the morning deserves a raise AND a pizza party. I had a postage marked for USPS and not UPS, he walked me through where to go, how to print the shipping label and what I should do when mailing it out.
