I love that there's a large oak tree in the front that honors the city's name, inspired by the abundance of majestic oaks in Thousand Oaks. Especially on this hot sunny day, it was nice to stand underneath the tree and try to cool down before running more errands. I've been here a couple of times to drop off a few packages for a rescue I volunteer for. Because I print the labels online, I use their self serve kiosk to scan in the packages then drop them off at the secure turnstile in the wall. It was easy to find parking as they have a large parking lot. I noticed they also have collection mail boxes that you can drive up to however they were locked. I wasn't sure of the reason since it was still early afternoon during business hours. That was the only downside of my current visit. read more

I came here while in this area and had to ship some stuff. I handed over my packages to this lady named Yoon, she proceeded to throw my packages into the bin behind her and didn't even care a bit, On the packages I put the Please Handle With Care FRAGILE stickers on there so they wouldn't be thrown. I have been going to this post office for 30 yrs+. I have never had a bad experience and feels like family, I know I am in good hands. Yoon,Frank,Robert and Kong to name a few. When I go to the Post Office, it's always a pleasure. How refreshing in this day and age when customer service is sometimes less than. Today's visit was no different. It was a busy day (April 14), and as I waited in line to find out what type of box I needed, I passed Frank's station and greeted him. Even as he helped another customer, he said I should wait for him to help me. This kind of customer service, recognition, helpfulness, and always with a smile is something that I value. This is a pretty standard post office. Parking is quite limited, so be mindful especially on Saturdays and during lunch time. The self service machines are quite easy to use, and an employee is happy to assist if you have any issues with them. Lines can be long especially during lunch time and Saturdays. The location provides your typical supplies including greeting cards. Customer service is mediocre. All in all, this location does not stand out, but it meets basic standards. read more

BEST customer service EVER! Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this post office nor did I imagine that I'd write a review about my experience, but whoa. The people that work here really care! I recently moved into my new house in Thousand Oaks and was trying to track down an Amazon package. The package was marked as delivered by Amazon, however it was not delivered. Also, we haven't received any mail. Robert quickly figured out that the previous owner of our new home had placed a vacation hold on the mail during our ownership transition. He came from the back of the mail room and gave me a pile of undelivered mail which included some important documents, like my property title, hello! Robert at the front desk was so friendly and amazingly helpful-- he went above and beyond to help me. He also welcomed me to the Thousand Oaks neighborhood when I told him that I had just moved into my new house. Really, he was so nice and caring. Post office employees deserve a shout out! It took some time for Robert to figure out where my package went, so he asked if I could leave my phone number. He said Barbara (the supervisor for my zip code area) would be calling me about my package. And guess what?! Barbara called me within an hour with information about my package! Seriously, the post office called me back about my package. WOW. Who does that?! Barbara was very kind and helpful as well. She really wanted to help me find my Amazon package. Consistently poor quality service. One would think with privatization potentially looming over the USPS, their employees would be trained to provide a better service experience. labels are placed next to incorrect boxes. after standing in line I was told it was not the right label for the box and to get out and do it again. I understand due to Covid that perhaps workers can no longer tape the box. But it would be nice of them to state that prior to patrons standing in line without tape. A sign by the door where the line extends outside of Would be great. going forward if I have to use the USPS I will do so online and give packages to my mail carrier. now that I think of it maybe that's what they're driving us to do. The USPS is a very much needed federal service. When a business, by action, treats you like 'you need us, we don't need you' then I take my business elsewhere. And, the people who work at the USPS don't care if you you go elsewhere. They get their eight hours pay whether you come in or not. They would prefer you not come in and if you do their rude to you hoping you'll get the hint and choose not to come back in the future. I have to say that there are a few USPS employees who do their jobs well and some do their jobs with enthusiasm. It seems like they actually like working. But, those employees are a very small percent on the USPS workforce. UPS and FedEx rates are much higher than the USPS because people don't go and put up with the USPS anymore, for the reasons mentioned above. read more
