On June 3rd, 2022, I visited UPS Store #3145. I have been going to this UPS Store for years, but never in my life, at any store, UPS or otherwise, have I faced such an amount of hatred and racial discrimination that I received on this day. After waiting in line for half an hour, when I reached the front of the line, the owner of the store, Neelema, informed me that she would not service me because I needed to wear a mask as the mask mandate was back in place. Again, today is June 3rd, 2022. This was despite the fact that there were people before me and after me who were entering and exiting the store and being serviced without masks, and that she allowed me to wait until I got to the front of the line before giving me this notice. So, although I was now first in line, I was told to leave right as I was about to be serviced, and the customer after me was serviced first. I had no complaints about this request though, and I apologized as I had no idea about the reinstatement of the mandate, as it had just gone into effect on this very day, June 3rd, and I quickly went back to my car to get a mask out of my glove compartment and returned. I came into the UPS store to conduct two Amazon returns, a package-less return and a boxed return. The boxed return is where the problems started to occur. Although my item was boxed and taped shut in a brown cardboard box, the owner, Neelema, refused to accept it as she claimed that it needed a second box as the brown cardboard box it was currently in was the manufacturer's box. She claimed this was an Amazon policy and directed me to the instructions on the return, however, nowhere on the instructions, did it claim that it needed a second cardboard box. She said that I can buy a box or buy a "bag" to put it in. Confused about what she meant by "bag," I asked if she meant something like a Target bag, which I had in my car as well, but by bag, she meant bubble mailer. Regardless, I complied. I went back to my car and as luck would have it, I found another box that was the perfect size to fit the box in question. I put the brown cardboard box in the second brown cardboard box and taped it closed with some tape that I had luckily found in my trunk. After returning to the store, Neelema tells me that she again refuses to accept my package, because, according to her, I had not taped it with enough tape. Continuing, she then refuses to accept my package unless I purchase more tape from her even though my package was already taped closed. At this point, I started to understand what was going on. If I had not been fortunate enough to find a box in my car, I would have purchased a box from her and then she would have spun around and again refused to accept my package unless I purchased tape from her. I was shocked by her behavior in that her plan was to sell me the box and THEN refuse my package again unless I purchased tape from her, because during the whole back and forth that we had about the box, she never once mentioned anything about tape. Only after I found a second box, did she say, "I still won't take it." From the moment I first walked into the store, she had intended to deny me service under any possible circumstance. Despite all of this, I still complied and went back to my car to see if I could find some more tape. Another customer, who was in the store with me earlier, saw the whole situation and felt so sorry for how Neelema was treating me, that he drove up to me and gave me a roll of tape that he found in his car. I thanked him, and I went back inside and wrapped so much tape around my package that it was unnecessarily excessive, simply because I was ready to be done with the whole situation and go home. But, this is where Neelema crossed the line. After I came back with my package, double boxed and amply taped, Neelema does not scan my package, she instead accuses me of stealing tape from her and tells me to take the tape that I have in my pocket out. The UPS Store is not a big store, everybody can see everything, and I exited the store's premises and came back with tape, so there is not any imaginable way that I could have stolen her tape. Neelema was just so filled with hatred that she let it cloud her common sense. Shocked by her behavior, I asked for her name, but she refused to give it to me, and she also was the only employee not wearing a name tag throughout the day, two very bad signs. After some back and forth, I was finally able to drop off my package. Being Black doesn't equal being a thief Neelema, don't you dare. Nobody deserves the treatment that I received from Neelema, nobody. I complied with EVERYTHING. Get a mask, I leave the store and come back with a mask. Get a second box, I leave the store and come back with a second box. Get tape, I leave the store and come back with tape. When there is now nothing more than can possibly be set up to deny me service, now her claim is that I am a THIEF. What Neelema did today was pure evil. read more

Stopped by this store last week to do some package returns and could not have asked for an easier experience! The staff there was super helpful and understanding. I just want to say that I have had my business packages and mail handled and delivered to and from my mailbox at this particular UPS store in Union City for several years now. I've always received courteous and helpful service from everybody who has worked there over the years and in recent years the team leader, Neelema has been quite a helpful, kind and courteous UPS Store professional! after waiting in line for a while i finally got to the fromt to print some stuff. It wasnt showing thag it was emailed to the system which is fine. The only thing thing is while I was at the front trying to figure it out the lady who was helping me started calling other customers up while I was still being helped. We've been using this particular UPS Store for several years, through 3 past owners. We've had a great experience with all ownera, and the newest owner, Neelema, seems not only very friendly, but extremely helpful. We're still in a Pandemic, which means that we have to continue lining up outside to come in, and she will come out and do whatever she can to help speed things up, for example, asking who has something to ship, need receipts, etc. she seems very efficient and eager to provide excellent service to her clients. The staff, like Dee and Kathy, who have faithfully been there through thick and thin over the years, have always been wonderful and attentive to our needs. there is always apprehension when a new owner takes over, but Neelema has stepped in with both feet and is working so hard to make this a mutually-beneficial service for all - we appreciate her! read more

I heard that there was new management at the Union City UPS store, and decided to check it out. To my absolute pleasure, the new management was kind, helpful, and took great care of my packages. Neelema is my favorite clerk to work with! She is personal fast and efficient. I brought in two packages from Amazon mistakenly thought it didn't need to be packaged. I go to this UPS Store all the time and have been okay with the service because I just drop off boxes that need to be shipped. However, today was frustrating. When I entered the store there were two people in front of me and two people at the cashier needing services...I get they need other services but if there are additional employees in the back - pull them to the front so they can assist the people lined up waiting to drop off their boxes. When it got to me being in front of the line, the guy that was at the cashier's station ended up going to the back and left the one lady to handle everything. That's STUPID! By the time I finished there were 8 people in line. I don't think I will go here anymore unless the services are quick and the wait not too long. This place has to hire people that can work quickly and this way people that come here won't be as frustrated and won't be posting complaints about this UPS Store location. read more

Although they already have 4.5 stars I just have to write a review saying how good they are. David the manager was extremely helpful. I came in with two packets, one for USPS and one for here. Not only did he let me leave both here, but he helped me with the USPS label, taped the package, and did it all with a smile. Kudos to this wonderful establishment. read more

I have been here a couple times for some Amazon return drop-offs. If you have a printed label and don't need a receipt, you can usually skip the line by dropping it into a spot or pile they have. They can get busy. I stopped by today to actually try out the in-store return label printing option using a code, and the gentleman with the white beard was super helpful and cheerful at around 5:45pm. I had to ship some items to a couple friends since I didn't have time to drive out to them. I had already picked up some boxes at the post office, but I never had enough time to get to the post office before they closed. Luckily, I thought of this UPS store and didn't have to worry about getting to the post office. I already had my items packaged. All I just needed was to have them shipped. The customer service was very helpful here. My transaction didn't take more than 10 minutes since I had small items to ship. I most definitely will use this place again if I can't make it to the post office. read more

Bad service. All the dark Asian female workers here have no sense of urgency. They see a line forming and they will ignore you and walk to the back room and do useless work or chit chat and laugh like hyenas! They will make you wait until the line dies down a little and then they will come out and help but with an attitude. Dont believe the rest of the five star reviews here. This is my favorite UPS store to go to. Things are efficient as long as there isn't a confused, lost or annoying customer in front of you. I have been stuck in line behind people who didn't know what the heck they were doing and the employees did their best to help. Passports and additional needs take the longest. The employees are knowledgable and do their thing. Like any other establishment, try to go during slower hours, during the day if possible. Around 11am and 2pm is when I would go. Maximize your ability to beat the rush. My goal is to drop off my package and then get out of there within 2 minutes. That be said, I usually have the pre-paid postage whenever I am returning. So my transactions are usually on the quicker side. I have never had to do anything more than this, or pick up a package that was delivered to this site rather than my house. They are efficient as much as they can be. read more

If you hate going to the DMV, avoid this UPS store at all costs. The two older ladies that work here should be fired. Both are racist and super rude; they're only helpful to people of their own race ie. those of filipino and indian descent. Both of these employees are ridiculously slow, and purposely work slower if they see the line is getting long. I can almost guaranatee both of these employees were fired from their previous jobs for being inefficient and rude, but somehow landed gigs at this UPS store. Last time I was here, the line was out the door, the older filipino lady let some of her friends skip the line while everyone else had to wait. Many occasions, customers will show up that need extra assitance in boxing and writing shipping labels, which is fine. However, have one designated person help these people while one person handles the rest of the line with people who alredy have their items ready to ship; would make the line move so much more efficiently. read more

I went to this UPS store to print my dad's funeral service program and I was served by Bea. Firstly, I called this place to make sure they do have copying services, Bea answered the phone and graciously answered my questions. I got to the store and luckily Bea assisted me and my prints were made. Bea was kind enough to talk to her manager to make sure I got what I ordered and the proper service I needed. I tried to get my I-9 notarized here and was told that they can't for I-9 forms. They direct me to somoene else with a business card and from what I was told, they charged about $80 to notarized the I-9, which I was expecting $10. I'm sure it's not really their fault and they don't know any better. Thanks for Yelp app, I was able to find another notary service with ease, A S A P Printing & Promotions, I called and check, the guy said they would notarize the I-9 for $10. read more

I came here for live scan for a few times and had always receive great customer service from David. However, today I was helped by a lady with piercing on her lips. I was there to drop off a package that was already labeled, meaning they were only making maybe $1 off from this sale. We finished a whole entire transaction without saying a word. She didn't say hi, she didn't ask me if I need anything else, she didn't say thank you, and she didn't say bye. Maybe her piercing is new and she couldn't talk? But no, she said "dang she is late" to another cashier addressing the postwoman was late in picking up the mails outside of the store. It was the worst customer service I have experience. This store is lucky that I would come back because of it is convenient at where I live. Otherwise, I would not come back if there is another UPS store next door. read more

Let's start off by saying that I am a shipping noob. I don't know what box to pick, what tape to use - the only thing I really understand about shipping is that I have to put the address that I'm shipping to in the center of the package and pay money! This UPS store here is awesome - all I had to go was give them my item, write the address down, and they took care of the rest for me (for way cheaper than if I had fumbled through the various boxes they had on display, too!). They picked out a box, taped it up, put in those great styrofoam filler things that I loved playing with as a child, and did this all with a smile on their faces.
