I had gone to the Tice Valley UPS store and although no one was in line the clerk did not greet me and eventually looked up from the computer and told me to leave my package on the floor. I didn't understand where to leave the package and the clerk from the other side of the store instructed me in a brusque tone. No smiles here and I decided to go elsewhere. When Siri told me that the next nearest store was in downtown Walnut Creek on Botelho I was puzzled. As a long time resident, I didn't remember seeing a UPS down there and that is because the store is set back from Botelho in that sunrise bistro shopping mall. When I entered the Botelho UPS, Haresh greeted me with a pleasant expression, took my package into his hands, and printed me a receipt. When I thanked him and told him of my experience, he said that He was puzzled that I did not know about the store because it had been there for many years although recently changing hands. I told him I will definitely come back and that I would be pleased to write a review in case other longtime residents like me were not aware of this location. read more

I have rented a mail box from this UPS Store for about seven years. As a small business operator, it is difficult to overstate the convenience of the service they provide. When I need a Notary on a weekend, they are available with a Notary service on a weekend. When I need a secure location to have packages delivered to, they are there to receive packages and safeguard them until I can collect them, sometimes not real promptly, but at my convenience they are available. I can even access my mailbox after businesses hours. Shipping needs?? What shipping needs, all I have to do is drop off my outbound shipping and The UPS Store and Brown taje it from there. There are also computers available for last minute details. I highly recommend this UPS Store for its location, an easy walk to downtown WC. And the true reason I do business with this store is the staff. They are friendly and professional, always ready to help me solve any shipping, or USPS issues. Great service! I was 2nd in line and in a hurry. I asked questions out of line like a dummy (admitted it and apologized for my innocent rudeness to which no one had an issue - everyone had a laugh - esp the delivery dude!). Either way - this store was able to mail my letter using USPS stamps (unlike FedEx) on a Sat at 4pm. Awesome service with a smile! Keep up the stellar, rockstar work. read more

Ok, so, after a comedy-of-errors at the local post office that involved waiting in a shorter line for the automated kiosk, only to have the kiosk breakdown moments after they locked the doors to the area where the humans service your postal needs, and then waiting while one of the employees attempted to repair the automated kiosk, that employee finally told us that it was no use waiting any longer, so I left for another errand at the UPS store, just in time to miss THEIR closing time by 6 minutes. I must have turned multiple shades of frustrated when the door was opened by a woman that said, "Don't look like that... I'm gonna let you in." I later found that woman's name was "Seema", and she had just earned my undying gratitude by allowing me to enter after closing time. She patiently took care of everything I needed, and, during a short period where she was unable to proceed until another employee changed out the cash drawer, she even managed to find time to laugh with me, at my earlier post office story, as I related to her why I was so frustrated. After allowing another late-arriving, forlorn looking, elderly man in, to make a couple photocopies (how nice is this lady, huh?,) she even managed to give me a discount on my bill as packaging and shipping a 10-pound, fragile, item to Pennsylvania really adds up! Seema seems to be a very nice, very caring, employee and her empathy certainly served me well on this day. She's super... I'll go to this store for all my shipping needs... you should as well. read more

I have been a customer of this store for the last 3 years, since moving from SF. The staff, in general, have been relatively helpful and courteous, however, today was a completely different story! I have never written a review in my life but this experience brought me to write one. I am a busy mom of two young children and was trying to quickly drop off a box for a return before picking up my son from school. The box needed nothing but two small pieces of tape for ensuring it would stay closed. The women at the front desk, Stephanie, the general manger of the franchise, was incredibly rude!!! She stated that they usually don't accept return boxes, but basically, she would do me a favor and return the box. She then stated that I would have to pay $2 for the two very small pieces of tape! She stated that this was their policy. Now, I have been returning boxes at this store for the past 3 years without every being so rudely addressed and I have never had to pay for 2 cents worth of tape. I have been a loyal customer during this time. Not just dropping off boxes for return but shipping other items, ect. I will no longer be a customer of this UPS store. Your customer service is lacking and I will not support a business that treats customers this way. read more

I came here to post my bad experience and understood why it was so desgusting checking the bad review rate this UPS store has. The UPS headquater should check closer to understand and fix what provokes such bad reputation. They probably have too many business because of the location and don't care about the client service, friendly approach, what doesn't justify to be so bad. I was just one more. Here is my experience. Agree or not, bottom line is what I think and feel about the business handled by this place. I prefer UPS than Fedex stores. It is because I always feel better serviced by UPS team. One service that I use to request is to scan documents - maximum 10 pages, and send to my eMail. Frequently I do it from the UPS store from Lafayette, Clayton Rd, and Pleasanton at Hopyard Rd. I always pay from $0.75 to $1.00 per page and they took no more than 3 min to have the request done. Today, I went to another place. UPS Store on Walnut Creek, CA next to ROSS STORE. Raining a lot. Parked, entered the store to find and face a long line. That is fine. Then...the attended informed he was going to Notary some documents to a couple in the line and it would take about 20 minutes. That is fine, it makes part of the deal. After 35 minutes total in the line, my turn came. I had 7 (seven) pages on my hand that I asked to be scanned and sent to my eMail. Here is the shock. The attended told me to do by myself for $5.00 or he could do for me charging $15.00 (fifteen dollars) + the $5.00 (five dollars). I am not good with scanners and computers. I was tremendously late. I had waited 35 minutes in the line, I was tired. I looked to him incredible saying that I used to request the same service in other UPS stores paying a dollar by page, to hear from the guy that each store has its own police. And there he had to charge $15 for the minimum of 15 minutes of his time. I said, OK, here are the papers. It seems I frustrated him, without no other option he went to the big machine, scanned 7 pages in few seconds, sat at the computer sending the file to my eMail. Time spent on it? 2.5 minutes, perhaps 3 minutes. Not at that. I gave him my credit card and dawn, he was really talking serious, he charge me $20 dollars for this service. What is the point? I would pay $7 or less for the same service on any of the other UPS stores I used to go, but paid $20 to do the same in Walnut Creek in this WC store. Another point, there is no standard on their training and police. They work differently. Was the guy rude? No, I cannot say that. But he wasn't friendly either. For sure not. IF you are thinking that I paid because I agreed, yes, you are right, but if you don't want to pay $20 for scanning 7 pages, don't go there. Lesson learning; not all the UPS stores have the same attendance. Hope it helps you too. read more

Went here to drop off Comcast equipment that was sent to us by mistake. We brought it in with the box it had shipped in around 3pm on 7/17/16 when a middle-aged woman was working. We asked her to throw away the box for us and she flat out refused and was very rude to us. She seemed annoyed that she had to process our Comcast return. I will not be going back to this store if I can avoid it. Prices are very high and they are under staffed. A couple of weeks ago I stopped by to mail a package because I didn't want to take time to go to the Post Office. The only clerk was serving as a notary and helping people with legal papers. The rest of us waited. The notary said her boss was there but was in the back making phone calls so he could not come out to help. She was completely unconcerned about our wait. When she finally got to me, the cost of mailing my package from Walnut Creek to Belmont was outrageous. I took it to the Walnut Creek Post Office where there were 10 people in line and I got out of there faster than the UPS store! The package was about half the price for USPS priority compared to the same thing at the UPS store. Today I went back for a passport photo. There was only one clerk who was waiting on two people and taking phone calls. The picture was not just bad, it was horrible. I'm sure he would have taken more pictures, but I didn't want to wait around for half an hour. Packing material is much cheaper on Amazon. read more

I called on Friday to see if I could fingerprinted on Saturday, and the clerk said I could any time from 10 am-4:45 pm. When I showed up on Saturday around 12:00, I was told that two employees had called in sick and no one could help me. I asked when I could come in on Sunday, I was told between 1 and 4:45. To be safe, I called before 4:00 to check and was told that notwithstanding what I was told the day before, the fingerprinting person left at 4:00. You simply cannot believe what you are told at this location. read more

This was my third trip here, all absolutely horrible!! Complete lack of customer service, and grossly overpriced even compared to other UPS locations 5 miles away! $14 for a book of stamps that should be $9.80. They tried to charge me $14.46 to ship a letter from Walnut Creek to San Francisco! That's 25 miles away, I could drive it there cheaper than that, and then they tried to lie to me and tell me the post office would be the same price if I went there. I ship packages daily for my business and know rates, I only came here because I was right next to their location at the time. I told them they were insane for asking what they were and was getting irritated by their attitudes as well. Went to the post office down the street and shipped the same envelope with tracking for $3.03! I really don't write negative reviews unless it's truly worth it, and I normally give businesses at least a second chance, in this case a third. This location is just all around awful, I've never had a helpful employee, been given attitude each time I went there, and they are so grossly overpriced it's offensive. Stay clear, go to the UPS on Bancroft Rd. and Treat Blvd in the Countrywood Shopping center if you need UPS service. read more

Went here yesterday to mail out AT&T equipment. I was up against a return deadline and nearly shipped the equipment overnight ($120) charge to make it. With the encouragement of the two gents at the store, I called AT&T to see if they could make an exception and they did! The two men that helped me didn't have to try to save me money, they could have gone about their day without a thought. But, they showed care and provided excellent customer service. The is the first review that I have done on yelp. But, I felt that in this case, it was a good time to start. To start with, the store is under new ownership and they are both lovely people and more than willing to go the extra mile to help their customers. I ran into the store carrying 4 boxes in my arms about 2 minutes before closing and was greeted with immediate warmth. She genuinely wanted to help me with sending my packages. As she was helping me out 3 more people came in. Even though it was past closing she welcomed them in as she did me. She helped me out with my packages which took about 30 minutes and was joking with me and the other customer the entire time. After we were done, she, her husband and I talked for another 30 plus minutes. I never felt rushed or as an inconvenience. I would HIGHLY recommend going to their store for all your mailing needs. I was extremely happy with the service that I received at this UPS store and the help I got from both Sarah and Monica. I came in with a load of things to ship to my daughter who is heading off to college and they helped me both figure out how I wanted to pack the items and how to do it in the most economical way. They were both kind and helpful and gave me excellent service. I ultimately decided to let them pack up my things for me which was a great relief since I have so many other things to take care of.It was wonderful to know I was leaving all of my daughter's treasures in good hands. This store upcharges on everything, including U.S. postage stamps which just cost me $.65 each. Yikes!

While the people are nice here, their prices are ridiculous. I went to ship two boxes, and they wanted to charge me over $110. I then went online to Fedex and have them picking up from my house and it is costing me $75. They need to get their prices inline with the market. read more
