STORE 4296 should be REPORTED to UPS corporate. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst UPS Stores in Westlake VIllage or even from here to Downtown Los Angeles, and that's saying a lot because I go to many locations. The biggest issue is the owner, John. He is consistently rude and unprofessional, which clearly explains why so many reviews mention his poor customer service. I asked for his name and he flat out refused, saying, "I'm not telling you." That alone says everything. So immature. This location nickel and dimes customers. Unlike most UPS Stores, they do not tape boxes BUT instead SELL YOU TAPE. For a UPS Store, this feels cheap and unnecessary, especially when other locations tape boxes without issue. They also do not scan packages at the counter. You are told to go do it yourself at the kiosk. Yes they'll help but c'mon just scan a few boxes at the counter when the store is empty! When I placed my boxes on the counter, John removed all of them and put them on the floor, saying customers needed the counter space. The store was EMPTY, one of the slowest locations around because of the owners' terrible service... What makes this even more frustrating is that the younger employees are great. They are polite, helpful, and professional. If the owners stepped back and let the young people who understand service run the place, this store's reputation would improve instantly. Unfortunately, the two older men who run it, including John, are a problem. I now go out of my way to use other UPS locations. Better service, faster experience, a little more understanding customers should be provided tape, and no attitude. read more

Absolute logistical nightmare and zero accountability. I brought a retail return package to this location on Lakeview. The staff managed to stick my prepaid return label onto someone else's package. To make matters worse, management refuses to take any responsibility for the mix-up or the lost item. I am now stuck in a massive headache fighting the retail store for a refund because of this store's incompetence. Save yourself the stress and use a different shipping location. read more

I've never left a negative review until now, but multiple negative experiences here warranted one. Simple tasks are consistently made far more complicated than they need to be. Whether it's picking up a package, calling them on the phone, or handling basic requests, the process is unnecessarily difficult. Unfortunately, the staff often come across as rude, inept, and lacking the competence needed to handle routine situations efficiently. I brought a box in and the kid at the counter said I recommend 2 strips of tape on the box but we can only give you one strip for free. Charged me $8 dollars to buy a roll of tape so they could use 1 strip for a 6inch box. Horrible service read more

Worst UPS store I've ever experienced... and I've been to ups stores all over the United States. I have been to this location a few times now, and every time I've been here it's the same bs repetitively, literally no one who works here wants to help you with anything, especially the tall, dark haired, nerdy looking guy with glasses, they make you do everything on your own and charge you for anything they can, even a strip a tape to seal your box! Dropping off packages, no worries, the employees have always been cordial. Need actual assistance, don't bother. We ship high volume packages for our business paying $25-$75 per shipping label. We have required customer service assistance in the past with zero real effort or solutions from this location. We have delivery drivers that have taken excellent care of us for years but overall UPS has become increasingly more and more of a disappointment. The final straw prompting the bad review was that my company just ran out of the plastic sleeves you adhere to the exterior of international packages for customs forms. Not a huge deal as we can order more and have used thousands of them, never being charged as we are paying a lot of money over time for express delivery services. Upon dropping off our orders at this location today, I simply asked if I could please get a stack of the custom doc slips. The employee asked how many I need to which I replied 50 would be great for now, if you can. He instantly gets this strange combination of aggressive, flustered and confused and tells me I need to charge you $.10 for them because now I won't have them to give out to customers here. I'm sure they have many more than 50 and can simply have thousands delivered at any time and remember, we have been shipping for years and have spent tens of thousands of dollars on shipping services, never paying for these silly slips as we pay for the service! Just as you do not pay for the express boxes/packages, they're provided as you pay for the service. If you think I have a problem paying $5 for shipping supplies you're wrong. I have a problem being charged any amount for anything that a company has and continues to provide complimentary for a service that we are already paying for. It is pure principal. I then asked if I could just have ten for now instead as 50 apparently would have emptied their stock. He then replies in an even more aggressive and confused manner talking to me as though I am daft, saying Again! I won't have any to "give out" to our customers then so I need to charge you. Apparently he can give them out to their customers and I a not a customer for whatever reason so I have to pay for something that those likely doing far less business with UPS do not have to purchase. I am someone that never leaves reviews but I could not do what I really wanted to do so this review is my therapy instead. You sir, I hope are not a manager there and have officially made UPS even less bearable. Thank god fedex does not do this... read more

Don't go here for a Canadian Passport photo. Although they are on the list as being able to meet the requirements, when we sent our photo in with the application, the photo was rejected. We had to have another photo taken elsewhere, pay another fee, and additional postage to submit the required photo. All together, an additional $100. This location may be ok for regular mail, but do not use them for passport photos! read more

I took in a a padded mailer shipment already packaged that was 10" x 8" x 1", just under 2lbs and needed to ship it the least expensive way possible whether that was UPS, USPS or whatever. He tells it is $30, i asked him about USPS he tells me it's too heavy for a good price then says, oh it will be $27. I left, went on line to Shippo and bought USPS Ground Advantage for $7.86. I didn't mind paying a little bit more for convenience but they were literately 4x the price. read more

I had my passport pictures taken at this location. They charged me $25. When I went to get my passport. The agency told me they were incorrectly done and wouldn't accept it so I had to pay another $20 and have new pictures taken. I went back to the store and asked to be refunded because they had incorrectly taken the pictures. They would not even consider it. They didn't apologize. They said the owner had a policy of no refunds on passport pictures. I tried to debate even though it was their mistake. I am so unhappy and frustrated. This place is terrible.!!!! read more

Someone else gave William 5 stars as well! I needed to return something to Amazon and my printer was suddenly low on ink so the label I printed was only partially readable. I hadn't ordered a backup cartridge and needed to get the item back to Amazon. William was able to use my phone to make sure the item would be returned. This store happens to be a recently remodeled store that outshines the roughly 150+ UPS stores I've been to across the nation. Most of the stores look like they're from an early 2000's design, like walking into an uninviting Postal Office, but this location is very nicely designed and hope to see other stores go this direction. read more

My husband and I always use this specific UPS store because the employees are so kind, helpful, and quick! We moved a bit away and still come here because of it. Today William and Jimmy were extremely welcoming and helped us ship holiday cookies to five different friends/family. They were really fast and made sure everything was packed up well! read more

DISCRIMINATORY ACTIONS BY UPS OWNER I took my father into the UPS store in WLV the other day to use the Notary. My father is 88-yrs-old, recently spent time in the hospital, and has very bad knees. He uses a cane because standing and walking are extremely painful. The young man behind the counter told us it would be about a 15-minute wait as there were people ahead of us. I looked around for a chair for my father, but there wasn't one. I asked the young man for one, but they didn't have one. So, my dad found a short counter to sit/lean on. Within seconds the young man behind the counter (on the phone) said the boss called and my father needs to get off the countertop. My father got up and, I went out and brought in a camping chair we keep in the back of the car. I set it up, out of the way, and my father sat down. Within seconds the young man behind the counter (on the phone) said we can't bring in a chair. We have to remove the chair. Now, we have a problem. The young man on the phone, with the boss, was just the messenger and, was clearly uncomfortable. I looked at the camera and asked to speak with the man on the phone. The young man turned and walked to the back of the store while still on the phone. He came back and reiterated that the boss said my father can't sit down and the chair must be removed. The Notary overheard what was happening and told my father that he could wait in the car and he would come out to him when he was finished with his current customer---a professional and sympathetic response. There was a second young man (no names will be mentioned in an attempt to protect him) who was obviously embarrassed and angry by the behavior of the "man behind the curtain." We set the chair up on the sidewalk outside the store and waited. The Notary came and we completed notarizing the Health Care Directive and Power of Attorney. We very much appreciated the professionalism of the Notary. BTW-Did you know that UPS makes you sign a waiver stating you will not hold UPS responsible if their employee makes a mistake while notarizing your documents? The actions of the cowardly owner of the WLV UPS store was reprehensible, and downright discriminatory. The young men did the job they had to at the time, but apologized later. I felt badly for them and suggested it was time to move on from that job. No one should be subjected to that unkind and inconsiderate behavior. We will followup with the UPS corporate offices, and will never step foot in there again. read more

This location is always staffed well enough that I either get helped immediately, or I only have to wait a few minutes. If you didn't know, they also accept USPS packages (with prepaid labels). Convenient and ethical, but staff was snippy today and nearly refused to tape up a return shipment envelope. Stated loudly and pointedly, "we can't be responsible, and you really should buy a new envelope for $2.49, or taped it up at home." There was no need for that. read more

Stay away from this branch. The branch manager Jim is an absolute psycho path and will not accept over 5 packages (I had 15 Amazon business returns with each QR code pre printed out and taped to the accompanying item). The store was empty with 3 counters open by the way. He was literally YELLING at me because I brought more than 5 things to return. Given how insane he was I asked for the few of my packages back that he had already scanned and he kept saying no. Then rather than handing back my stuff he threw the receipt on the floor. This is after he had mentioned he would not be giving me a receipt because "he didn't want to." He is absolutely insane and I would not trust any packages getting sent out from this branch - especially if he won't give you a receipt. I am also filing a grievance with corporate for his unprofessional behavior. read more

Worst Experience @ this Location: I watched the younger Employees deal with customers so poorly while the other employee dealt with the Sheriff! We watched and quickly realized why the Sheriff was there...The employees were Aggressive & Rude to the customers in front of us. I love the UPS Store in Agoura Hills. It's an easy stop as it's in the neighborhood. The staff is great - very friendly and helpful.

I used to go in all the time but have stopped going there. They always get the job done but you can either get someone who is really nice helping you (the younger gentlemen) or or someone really rude helping you (the older men). I treat the staff nicely and expect the same in return. The older men there make you feel like you are imposing on them and inconveniencing them. read more

I used to go to this store on a regular basis until about a year ago when I had a bad experience so I quit going. I decided to try them out again with an Amazon return, and I went to the counter only to be redirected to the line at the kiosk. When it was my turn I entered one of the three items I needed to return into the kiosk when he told me that I needed to let another customer who only had one item go first. At the same time another customer came in with an Amazon return and they helped him immediately at the counter. I asked why he was able to have his done at the counter and I had to wait in line at the kiosk only to be pulled away when it was finally my time and he told me that normally they're supposed to direct people to the kiosk. I wish I would've gotten the name of the person who was "helping me" at the kiosk but not only was he unhelpful he was rude. There are so many other choices in Westlake Village for services like this. I would recommend avoiding this place. read more

I just left the store without shipping a box to another state. William is one of the customer service reps who assisted me. When I arrived I asked William if he could tape the box shut before we proceeded and he told me one piece of tape cost money. I told him I had no problem paying for the tape. He proceeded to tell me that he would tape the box after we were done with the transaction. To be clear, I requested the box to be taped prior to proceeding with the transaction which he refused to do. When I asked him why he was being so difficult he put his first finger up in my face and said wait just a second. He went to the back and spoke with the owner. The owner came out and said that I did not need to pay for tape if I was shipping the box with them and quickly taped the box shut. I have shipped multiple packages through this company at different locations. William did a search via phone number to find my account but couldn't find it. He proceeded to be even more difficult and asked me for an ID stating that it is required to ship a box. I've never been asked to provide ID before, I went to my car to get an ID. I presented the ID. He then asked for the address. He wasn't clear as to whether it was my address or the person that I was shipping to, so I proceeded with my address. I can go on and on about all the difficulties I had to ship one 9 x 9 box. William printed out the final shipping label to place on the box. I specifically asked him to place it on the top of the box were a previous label was, to cover it up. He told me that they don't place labels on the top of the box like that therefore I took my box left and went to the UPS store in Agoura. I suppose he didn't want to put the label the way I asked because he was going to possible open the box up and it would be easy to tape over it. If he broke the label, it would have been obvious clear by the receiver the box was tampered with. Apparently William is racist and sexist. Agoura UPS staff were very easy to deal with. They told me they are getting more traffic in there store who had similar problems with the Westlake location. The customer service superseded anything that I've ever received at Westlake. The owner at Westlake seems to be a really cool guy. He should fire fire every single employee and hire a new crew including woman who I have never seen employees there. read more
