I appreciate the metal detector at the entrance. I'm a licensed gun carrier, and I wished I'd known before. I saw the vault. I recommend it strictly on ambience, not any catering. I ate in the restaurant, the Bank Hidden Inside the Vault. Maybe it was the chef's off nite, but the red snapper and the calamari were both "chewy" which indicated to me a lack of freshness. The red snapper was over cooked at the Bank. I've had calamari at-other restaurants, like Frank's Old Mill and in other countries, but my waitress said there was nothing wrong. Can you complain or take anything off your order? Yes, you can complain but you're going to pay. It's in small print on a card on your table. Read it. I would have tipped my waitress anyway but the tip is already included in your bill. She was courteous and got our order correct, so I would have tipped her despite the quality of the food. I was watching. She didn't cook our meal. My wife ordered a burger and fries. Her order was to her satisfaction. I would order what she had next time. My drink was watered down, not top shelf; but, I've come to expect that if I'm not seated at the bar watching. I believe in supporting our community, so I'd go back. Last night we had a great time at the Vault. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the ambience was spectacular. Parking was also accessible and security made us feel safe. My family and I try to do a cousin's outing monthly and it was my turn to pick a place and The Vault did not disappoint. Everyone said their food was good. The owner and the manager was so friendly and made us feel special. The staff had no problems helping us take photos...everyone was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back with my Hubby or another girlfriend outing because I have more dishes to try. I give this place two thumbs up!! read more

The food and ambiance were great. The service could have been better, we had multiple servers due to our server leaving for the day.

I had high hope for this date night and this seemed like a best concept. Unfortunately the experience was a disappointment. First, the music mix was terrific but it was so loud that we had to yell to hear each other. Second, and most importantly- the food was basic and not worth the cost. Hubby's marinated lamb chops were extremely thin and were drenched in regular bbq sauce. They tasted like ribs with honey bbq sauce. The collards had so much liquid that we had to drain them and the Mac and cheese reminded me of school lunch. Third, topping off the dinner were the fried turkey wings that I ordered. They were fried so hard that even the waitress was dismayed. It took another 20 minutes for my new plate of chicken wings to arrive. The wings were the thin and barely seasoned. We were in and out in less than an hour at almost $100. The 18% gratuity is automatic. I should have kept my reservation at Oceannaire but I was trying to support a local business. The service at the desk started off a little shaky but soon after it became better. Our waitress was really nice and patient with us. They did everything to accommodate our party considering some were late. The food was really good I had the strawberry lemonade waffles and chicken. Some other ladies in our party had the Mac and cheese and collard greens as sides they were really good. The ambiance was superb !!! I took my guy to dinner here for his birthday and everything was wonderful. The ambiance was super cute and romantic. Our server Ashanti provided amazing customer service making sure we were good throughout the night. Our appetizer was the Cajun Honey Glazed Wings which were cooked to perfection. My guy ordered The Southern Plate with the chicken breast. He thoroughly enjoyed it however the greens were a bit too salty for him. I ordered the Turkey Wings and they were seasoned well, falling off the bone. Our delicious dessert was the Chocolate Cake and it was warm when brought out. The manager Antonio made a few rounds to check on the tables and we were most appreciative of that. I've been to many black establishments and don't get this type of service. While talking to the manager we mentioned it was my guy's birthday and he brought over two glasses of champaign. They have set the bar high, and we are already talking about when we are going back. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner. When he told me and described the place, I was pretty excited. When we got there, it wasn't what I expected. It wasn't bad, just not as expected. I was thinking lights would be a bit more dim at least, but I liked the look of the place. We were sat in a corner near the server station, so we could see the entire dining area. Service seemed quick everywhere and it was a decently filled room. Food came out very very fast, and it tasted pretty good. Personally I wouldn't come back, but I also have a specific diet. I can't comment on the drinks necessarily, because one I wanted to order couldn't be ordered at the time so I asked for a custom drink. My boyfriends drinks were STRONG though, so if you like strong drinks like him, this is a great place. Our server was butterfly (I think). She was sweet and provided amazing service! read more

I have been wanting to check out this place for awhile. I finally made it happened. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of a filming when I made my reservation a week before. We didn't get a chance to experience the Vault itself. We had to see in the other area. I wasn't too thrilled about that. Our waiter was very nice. The drinks were okay. The food was a bit too salty. We order the Oxtails, Mac & Cheese and Cabbage. It was hard for us to eat the oxtails because the amount of salt in it. The Mac and cheese were good. I had a spoon full of the cabbage and it was okay. When the production crew started to move their setup in our area, we had to quickly finish our time there so we don't get in the way of them filming. It took awhile to get our tab. Another guy came over to bring us our To-Go container and took the plates. Once we got our tab and paid for our food, we had to leave out through the back door. I really wanted to experience the actual vault. Maybe next time if I decide to come back. I know I won't order those oxtails again. read more

Appetizers were great, we had the wings, salmon bites, and Brussels sprouts. The cornbread they bring out it good but it's thick as hell like a Popeyes biscuit just a forewarning. Birthday girl had salmon with the crab fried rice...it was LITERALLY SMOTHERED in some type of glaze that was very sweet. Like TOO sweet. She told our server that she didn't like it, server brought manager over...RUDE ASF! He said "did you read the menu" like huh??? REGARDLESS she said she didn't like it, why does that matter?? Nevertheless it was remade. The "chef" brought her dish out (with an attitude of course). I brought the manager BACK over & showed him that his menu in fact DOES NOT state "salmon with glaze" at all & they need to fix it to avoid this in the future. I had the turkey wings...BLAND no type of seasoning. Mac & cheese gave very much stouffers but it was...good i guess. We got 2 of the $60 bowls...wasn't a tad bit tipsy tasted like juice. The aesthetic of it was cute though. We gathered our food in togo boxes & waited for our desserts that were included in the prefixed menu. Manager came over AGAIN & was rude and said "y'all over y'all's time." like huh??? WE WAITING ON YALL GOOFY! Then he "ohhh were y'all preset?" Like where tf is the communication?? Some friends ordered the turkey wings and they both said they were cold and asked the waitress if they could warm up the food. The drinks were good. The concept of this restaurant is truly unique. However, the food is overpriced and tasteless. There were 3 of us and we ordered the same dish. The menu had 1/4 white fried chicken with collards and yams. What we got was 4 wings each. The meal was 30 bucks which means we paid 90 bucks for 12 wings and completely tasteless sides. I barely ate the wings, I only tasted the sides. A gentleman I assumed was the manager asked a couple of times was everything okay. I said yes ONLY because I knew I would never dine there again. An 18% gratuity is automatically added, no problem. However each bill had a service charge. THATS what took me over the edge and I made it known. You're serving tastes less food, 18 % tip plus a service charge and an additional tip if you wanted. I almost forgot you have to walk through a metal detector and they search your purse. Like WTF. I am not sure if it was because I came on a Monday, but the service was horrible. I sat there for 30min before someone asked if we were being helped. No server was assigned to our table. When we finally got someone to help us, the drinks that we wanted , they didn't have the ingredients for them. Our food was disgusting, I order the nyc steak with fries. The fries were soggy and tasted like they were fried in the fish grease!!! I asked for medium well on my steak, it was well well well done. Taste tough and rubbery like it was microwaved. To top that off I didn't get any utensil to cut the meat with. Asked a passing waitress and she walk pass the utensils and went to look for our waitress who was helping someone at the time. So I had to sit there and wait until she finished taking a full table order just to get a knife, that anyone could just give me. My plate was almost $50 and I couldn't eat anything on it. Smh... the only thing that help save my husband birthday was their comedy club that you get in free with your receipt. Never would I return or recommend this place.
