It's local, it's tucked in the corner and the brunch was good. We shared a pretzel and cinnamon roll for the table (6 people) as appetizers and each got an entree. Both were just okay. Roll was dry but frosting good and the pretzel is just okay always but easy to share. Turkey club, burger, chicken enchiladas, kids Mac n cheese, strawberry pancakes (the best!!!), and hot honey chicken sandwich. Was about $130 for us all, no alcohol.

It was worth the wait as Blaine Long was impressive and produced lovely sounds on the guitar, harmonica, and vocals, with songs like Jolene and a country version of Hallelujah entertaining guests. Staff provided attentive service. And my order took just 10 minutes to be ready. I got belle's biscuits and gravy with the eggs cooked scrambled, and a side of breakfast sausage. The sausage had a nice saltiness to it and really great flavor. The biscuits were flatter than I'm used to but were still soft and fluffy. I enjoyed my entire dish and finished every last bite. A great way to start my day.

I liked that they have a daily specials menu, and food prices are very reasonable compared to area restaurants. We started off with wings which were on special, and they were of decent quality and taste. For meals, we ordered the Mykonos salmon and rice, Sonoran cheeseburger, and cheese pizza flatbread. There were no weak points to the meal, as all the items were tasty and prepared well. Even the flatbread pizza hit the spot with us. The waffle fries had a special seasoning to them without too much heavy potato flavor, so were worth the upcharge to try out. The burger was well above average and cooked to wellness as requested, although the crispy onions on top weren't the best. The owner/bartender mentioned the one wait staff member called out sick, so did an incredible job of running the show attending to all the dining patrons himself, and checked in on us quite a few times. It take a little bit to get the check at the end of the meal, but service was great otherwise. All in all, although Metropolis is a bit hidden and probably doesn't get much tourist/visitor business, it's a solid and reasonably priced option for food in an area of Scottsdale that can get get quite expensive for meals.
