We were passing through Blairsville and decided to stop at Villa Pub and Grill for dinner with the family before our oldest headed back for his internship. We are glad we did! Honestly, we're not sure why this place has gotten so many negative reviews, because we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff took great care of us from start to finish. There's a nice variety on the menu, something for everyone. I had the buffalo chicken salad and loved every bite. My wife's brisket sandwich was a hit too, and our son practically inhaled his whole buffalo wings. This felt like exactly the kind of place you want to stumble into on a road trip. Great food, friendly folks, and good feeling all around. This join was recommended to my Mom and I by our hotel manager during our short stay in Blairsville. The side salad was massive. Very generous portion there and full of tasty olives, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. Their house dressing is also good. My Mom got the shrimp and really enjoyed it. Not too much breading. The onion straws were tasty and had this really yummy sauce with them that we ended up getting extra of. My Ruben was really delicious. The French fries with it tasted off. I don't know if the potatoes were old or what was going on. I ended up sending them back for sweet potato fries which were good. Service was excellent, food was good. Driving along 22 I always see a billboard for this place. The burger on the billboard is very enticing and decided on my day out why not finally give it a try. The billboard does not lie either, it's just a right at the next light and you are there. Pulling in I was a bit surprised by the location. Right on the corner at the end of the road. The parking lot is a bit wonky, but there appears to be enough parking. This also shares with a beer to go/pizza place. Walking in this place you feel like you are in a bar more than a restaurant. The bar takes up a good portion of the space with tables of both high top variety and low top variety around the area. I decided to sit at the bar as to not take up a table since I was there by myself. While sitting there for a few minutes I took in my surroundings. You can tell that this a beloved local establishment. As I sat there a multitude of people came in. Some to chat, some to pick up an order they called in for dinner that night, some to have a meal. But each time this happened, a conversation would start with someone already inside. It was a bit amusing. I was given a menu to look over and placed my drink order. One thing that I didn't care for was the automatic placing of popcorn in front of you. Due to allergies I cannot have corn, so it was like a big tease to me, even though I shook my head no and had my hand up, it was still placed in front of me. Time came and I placed my order. I went with the Backyard BBQ Burger. The description of this goes: A juicy burger smothered in barbeque sauce and topped with crispy onion rings. When I say they weren't lying, they weren't lying. This thing came out and it truly was smothered in barbecue sauce. I'm not complaining there as the sauce has a nice hint of spice and, in all honesty, was what I was looking for. The onion rings were in fact crispy which gave it a nice textural component. Very satisfying. It's also great that the burgers come from a local butcher and is 100% grass fed. The burgers come with potato chips and a pickle spear. Or you could do like I did and upgrade it to hand cut fries. Those fries were amazing. Reminded me of when you just fry up some potatoes at home. A nice crunch on the outside and nice potato-y inside. Service was top notch and I would definitely stop in again. One of our favorite places to meet for dinner with friends. A great half way point between Latrobe and Indiana, it's been our meeting place for many years now when we get together with folks from Indiana County. You can choose between the large dining area in view of the central bar inside or on the deck out back in the summer months. Last night was perfect on the deck. They recently upgraded the deck chairs to very stylish modern aluminum chairs which replaced the standard plastic outdoor variety. They were good looking and comfortable. The food here is always consistently good. Friday special was a fried fish dinner which two in our group had. They were both happy with the taste and the generous portions. Others had the meal salads like the Buffalo chicken and the chicken apple cranberry salad with blue cheese. And of course we had to have an plate of onion rings for the table. Perfectly fried and delicious! The server was super nice and very efficient. She got all our special requests noted and delivered upon. She even took our photo for us at the end of the evening. My only negative comment is if you do sit on the deck, you might catch a whiff of fried grease every once in a while. The kitchen ventilation system must be nearby. But if you don't mind that, it's okay. It didn't last long either, it did dissipate in the fresh air. read more

We had to walk up the the bartender to ask for our boxes for leftovers, go up again and ask for our check , waitress still never came back , walked up to the bar to pay the bill. Katie was VERY rude and complained the entire time while I was ordering and had such a bad attitude, I work in a restaurant as well so I brushed it off as someone having a bad day but once we got our food we realized we didn't get one of our items so we called nicely just asking if we were charged since we did order it. They were talking about us in the background then put the girl who took our order and she complained, mocked, and insulted us along with argued for an hour when we just wanted to know about our order. Been three years since I rated this joint and I do believe it's time to sing their praises once more... Since the last time I rated this place I've visited at least once a year and have seen it transform into a very nice pub and grill. My how this place has gone from the dirtiest of greasy spoons to an almost upscale pub and restaurant. My latest trip found the main entrance looking brand new with the most friendliest and efficient of wait staff I've come across in a while. My dinner was their NY Strip Steak - cooked to medium with crinkle fries, a breadstick, and fresh salad. My wife had their burger special and we shared their onion petals appetizer (think the awesome blossom but without all the work), which was simply awesome. As an added bonus they now not only serve the mainstream craft beer but now have a nice selection of local craft. (A big plus in my book). Overall, I'm really impressed and glad to see how the potential with this place has panned out and only wish the owner continued success moving forward. read more

We were seated on an outside deck that only had 3 tables in use a very nice deck that most people think because your outside you can smoke so my husband did when Brittany came over screaming you can't smoke there so we moved to the smoking area, mind you there were NO signs posted.when the food arrived I did not like the taste of the burger so my sister complained and as she went inside my husband had to use the rest room and caught the waitress saying to another waitress " these motherfu**ers are complaining about the burger". After that there was a previous guest that was on the deck smoking as well so my husband light a cigarette and again Brittany came over screaming saying she didn't see the other table smoking well there were only 3 tables of people how do u not pay attention to your guests . So now it's 10:30, bar closes at 11, my husband went to get us 4 shots and they ( the 2 waitress left to close the place) said NO. Well it just so happens that my sister knew the owner and text her what happened and how poorly we were treated and all the owner did was say we should not of had to be told 2times about smoking on the deck! Not to mention our bill was over $110.00 and they lost out about another 40-50 in shots because the bar was closed??? How when it says 11 it closes. Ordered two burger plates and they not only came out fairly quickly but was cooked so perfectly and tasted so delicious that we had to tell the cook, Jacob. We recently went here for looking a place to eat after my sister's graduation at IUP. Upon arrival, the seven of us were asked if we had a reservation with multiple tables open. Slightly confused, but okay. We were eventually seated and placed our orders. We had the nachos for an appetizer, and the cheese had an aftertaste. When our entrees came, we were less than impressed. They franchise from Jioio's so they offer their pizza; there were mixed reviews about the taste of it. My mom and I ordered the Blackened Salmon Salad and I had only requested no olives. This was only the difference. The salmon was pretty bland. I had only tomato in my salad meanwhile my mother had the core of the tomato (which no one wants) and cucumber. We each had literally two slices of red peppers. It's pretty hard to mess up a salad and they managed to do it well. My grandfather got a fish sandwich in which he said his fish and fries were severely overcooked. The staff was very friendly and the space was nice with a patio. The villa has great food and the only reason I give it four stars is because generally no matter what or what time the food can sometimes take a while to come out of the kitchen but when it does arrive to your tables it's great! Generous portions the burgers are fantastic I also recommend eating in because the few times we've ordered take out the food has been really cold and not up to their usual standard. The wait staff are usually very happy and quick to help you with suggestions from the menu it's an extensive menu so there's a lot to chose from no matter what your preference may be. The pizza is great the crust is good not too thick the wings are always cooked to perfection the sauce is awesome and there's a variety of them to choose from. There's a ton of seating inside and outside lots of parking spaces at times it does get busy. There's a really nice relaxing patio deck area on the side of the bar which is nice time can fly by while relaxing out there. There's plenty of beers on tap to choose from as well all in all it's a nice local experience l! read more

The server short blonde girl Jessica was not only rude but she didn't come to check to see if we were dry with our drinks. We ordered food to take with us after our meal and after we got check and signed credit card slip had to wait another 20-25 minutes and then when my husband asked if our pizza was ready to go, she told him she forgot to pick it up multiple times. Will not return and will tell everyone I come in contact with not to come either. It's been years since I was here and I was told that it is managed under new owners. We came for a celebration retirement party for my husband's friend. The place has been cleaned up and looks much better. There was a tv devoted to just showing the menu specials which was nice, while other tvs had the sports channels on. The bartenders were very efficient and friendly. We had the pizza and it was very good. It was a nice evening and I think we will return to try the rest of the menu soon. read more
