They stay open till 2:00am, and it was a decent sized crowd for me personally where there were people on the dance floor, people at the bar and you didn't have to wait to get a drink. Dined at The Village Door on Sunday, and unfortunately it will probably be my last visit due to the pricing and overall experience. First, the $4.99 soda from the bar gun was disappointing. It didn't taste great to begin with, and at that price, you would at least expect attentive service and refills -- which we were never offered. If it had been a canned soda, the price might make more sense, but this felt excessive. The Bloody Marys were $17 and, in my opinion, overpriced for what was served -- well vodka, two pickled green beans, a lemon wedge, and two olives. For that price, you'd expect something more substantial or elevated. It just didn't feel worth $17. We ordered brisket sandwiches, which were good, but the French fries were overcooked to the point of being inedible. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet our waitress never checked on our table or offered refills. I'm not sure if she was new or just inattentive, but the lack of service added to the disappointment. This review is strictly about the food. The service was fine, and everything was going well until my father received his meal with a long hair in it. He discovered it while the server was asking if we needed anything else. My father then had to pull the long hair out of his mouth, which was absolutely disgusting. We asked to speak with the manager, but she didn't come to our table to address the issue. I actually had to go inside and ask her to come speak with our party about such a serious and unpleasant situation. My 18 year old son was the designated driver for his friend, my older son and his girlfriend last night (they are 21+) and they decided to stop here. Had dinner and drinks here on a Thursday night and, of course, it was not busy at all. The outdoor seating provides an excellent view of the bay, and during peak season I'm sure this place is hoppin'. Our server didn't seem too enthusiastic about anything, but I'm sure that's just because it's always slow this time of year. I had shrimp and fries and both were pretty bland. I had to add a lot of salt to my fries to enhance their flavor, and the cocktail sauce was partially frozen. Some of the worst service I have ever had. The man serving us had zero priority to serve us. It took my friend 15 minutes to get his beer after ordering and myself 20 minutes for an old fashioned. Keep in mind this place had maybe 15-20 people in the restaurant, so it was not busy. Must try the smoked turkey bacon sandwich. This is as real as it gets. They use in-house smoked turkey thick cut. Bacon is flavorful with a nice crisp and definitely have the right cheese.. I did this with a side of grits and I don't know what they do to these grits, but I will go back just for the sandwich and grits without a doubt . I was lucky enough to get a good seat as we had early sunset and the view was spectacular in the sky was definitely in my favor that day.. Very rarely give a bad review - but this was truly terrible. Went in around 1:30 on a Saturday. The place was empty. Service started out quick. Food was disgusting. My daughter wanted chicken and waffles - it was literally 2 whole wheat eggos and frozen chicken tenders. I only know they were frozen because one was still frozen in the middle. We have been going here for years. Ambiance is great on the patio with live music. We used to love the place but last few visit the food and service have not been what they used to be. The only thing enjoyable about this place is the view of the bay I got the chicken and waffles with maple syrup and powdered sugar but the chicken had honey sriracha on it and it was overcooked my waffles were grey and had no flavor with no syrup and one speck of powdered sugar. December 31, 2023. Two things were simply perfect with our dinner. This restaurant is located in the Baytowne Wharf area - in Sandestin Resort area. This area is certainly known for being an expensive place to hang out and to have dinner. One would expect a better experience. Our group was seven people. We arrived around 6:30pm, and left soon after the 8pm fireworks. 1. Our waitress - was simply great. She was super busy, but never seemed like she was lost/confused. Certainly had it going on. (I wish I could recall her name, but when Management (or she) reads this, they can figure it out pretty easily.. We had 3 teen girls at one table, and two couples at the other table (wives are asian). See, this should be simple enough. Our tables were at the base of the stairs, outside/patio. 2. Our seats for the fireworks could not have been better. It was pretty great to sit and have dinner/drinks while the fireworks show was booming! Now for things that need improved. - our appetizer of shrimp (see photo) was so much overcooked, most of the shrimp pieces were unable to be stabbed with a fork! The breading was hard, and the shrimp was chewy. - my turkey/bacon sandwich would have been great, except it was way too salty tasting. - other members of our group mentioned how bland their food was - not one of our 7-member group thought the food was great. - when the food runner (NOT our waitress) brought our food, we asked for hot sauce. she indicated it was in the rack on the table. our tables did not have any hot sauce. so, she went to get some. Perfect. EXCEPT, the bottle she brought back.. had less than 5 drops in the bottle! GEEZE, lady... when our waitress was able to get back to us, she brought us another bottle.
