Large portions, fresh ingredients and delicious. The avocados in my omelet were ripe to perfection - perfect buttery consistency in each bite. Omgoodness, just thinking about it makes me want to order it again. Our server was friendly and checked on us 5+ times. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I went BACK there against my better judgement because it was someone elses choice. I ordered the california omelet with with cheese and sprouts. Well, I could not find ANY cheese for the life of me. And they cooked the alfalfa sprouts INSIDE the omelet for an extended time so they were this disgusting soggy alfalfa mess. Um, ever hear of adding delicate sprouts at the very end or on TOP of the omelet as you serve it. And again, SLOOOOOW service so one of our parties had to just take their food to go. They actually have a disclaimer on the menu now saying they may be slow because its busy. ?????? That's how bad they are, they are sick of your complaints and they put their excuse on the MENU right up front. Lame. My sister, mom and I stopped in here on a whim for lunch before my sister's bridal appointment across the street. I agree with all the Yelpers below that service here is HORRIBLE! We seated ourselves and then a family of 3 arrived a few minutes after us. It appeared the hostess/server recognized them and gave them their menus first. We were sitting at our table for at least 5 minutes before we got our menus and got our drink orders taken. I think we might have waited longer had I not made eye contact with the waitress. Also, it appeared she was going to take the family of 3's order first, but I gave her the evil eye and she took our order. They barely checked in on our table. Talk about unfair and crappy service. The food is alright. It's your standard restaurant with breakfast food, salad, and sandwiches. I found the food overpriced too. I don't think I would eat here again. Good food, terrible service! To make a fair judgement call my wife and I ate their twice, same bad service, servers not friendly, understaffed. The reason for one star was because of the food, otherwise one star would be to generous. I attempted to bring this up to the manager on my second and last visit, however he was to busy greeting other customers. It's pretty sad when the manager would not even give you his attention. My husband and I went here for the first time today. I liked how it wasn't very busy, means I can hear what my husband is saying, and not have to yell at each other! I got the southwestern chicken salad it was soooooo huge and delicious. The tortillas chips were bigger and crunchier than other southwestern salads I've had at other places and the salad was so huge I couldn't even finish it. My husband got the country fried chicken with country to potatoes and eggs. So good my husband and I loved. Super attentive waitresses, constantly filled our glasses everyone was friendly. The managers or owners were very sweet and helpful. This place is a diner and is very clean and nice looking. The only reason I dont give it a 5 star is the bathroom. The toilet, sink, mirror were good they have soap and no hand paper towels worked well and they look like the recently painted. However their was no toilet paper and the floor needs some major TLC. Upgrading to 5 stars. Really love this place, it's quick, service is exceptional, everyone is nice and the food is amazing. I altered my order and my waitress was more than happy to accommodate it with a smile. Lauren was our server, but that didn't matter because the entire staff is readily available and willing to help. Took my wife here for breakfast yesterday. The minute we walked and we felt like it was a nice family-run business. Much to my surprise was a Monte Cristo on the menu which I immediately decided on. The wonderful thing about Don's Monte Cristo is it's grilled not deep fried. It was absolutely superb and the potatoes are outstanding as well. Not one bit greasy but yet not dry. They are perfect. My wife had the Eatery Egg Scramble. It was very good especially for you potato lovers. Their portions are very generous and their prices are reasonable. We drove out from Arcadia because we had a restaurant.com certificate and we will definitely be returning. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to visit with Don before we left. Very personable and a pleasure to talk to. We cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful service and outstanding food and we look forward to our next visit. The food is wonderful and the place is very nice but you should really only go if you have time. They are very slow. Also, the coupon is like the one IHop issues. I enjoyed my first experience at the Village Eatery! I had an egg salad sandwich with fresh fruit. The sandwich was big to my surprise so I feel for the price, it's worth it. Worst service ever!!! My server Tina had the BIGGEST attitude ever. First my breakfast was cold. Had very under cooked bacon and toast that wasn't even toasted. My mom never got her coffee refilled. I was never offer another mimosa. My mom and niece had to send their food back because it was cold. And I too, had to send my bacon back as it was raw. (Sorry but I didn't feel like getting worms today.) Bacon came back way over cooked and burnt. I ate didn't care I was hungry. My sister as well had cold eggs but ate them anyway. I was dining with my family and we had 2 for 1 coupons. Now it doesn't state 1 coupon per table so we got separate checks. And was told only 1 can be used. So I told her it doesn't say that on the coupon. So she rolled her eyes and said with an attitude " I'll get the manager" he to said one person table ok then whatever I'll follow the rules. I think maybe the next time this place of business sends out coupons put 1 per table so something like this wont happen. Maybr you should have just taken both coupons i mean we did have seprate checks. Mind you I would have given the appropriate tip. But I didn't tip based on the crappy attitude, cold food, and bad service. Which is a first for me. I don't think I'll come back to this place for breakfast ever again. I've only been to the eatery during the weekends for breakfast. Service was good and so was the food. I've gotten the omlettes a couple of times and it wasn't disappointing. The one memorable entree is the special french toast ( i think it was called the plaza?). They coat the french toast with corn flakes so it has a crunchy texture which makes it so much better than your usual french toast. Minus 1 star for their coffee. When we talked to him to address our concerns with my wife's meal, we asked for the check after to which he mumbled under his breath "gladly" while he was walking away. Found out about this place when going to lunch with a client. Didn't know what we were getting into so I was grinding my teeth. After pulling up and getting out of the car, I looked around and was very fond of the outdoor seating. Gives it a really nice feel to the place. Inside seating was just as good. They have a great menu and the food is pretty good. I ordered a salad and it was pretty hearty. We ended up splitting my salad and my client took her food home. We love this place. My family started coming after church, and we've expanded to other days, too. Fantastic oat bran pancakes, standardly good omelets and solid breakfast specials. Bacon is always done exactly right. The Florentine Benedict is lovely; I get it without the bread and it's awesome. Tropical iced tea and coffee are both good and they keep your cup filled. Service is stellar, caring, and friendly. We enjoy sitting outside so we can enjoy the sculpted trees along Glendora Ave. (There is a "Free the Trees!" campaign but so far it has not succeeded in returning the trees from their current role as weird, growing gumdrops to their natural state as, well, trees.) read more

Came in for breakfast, got the simple country breakfast. Service was nice, but very slow and actually pretty bad. Took forever to get some things, napkins, water etc. The place itself, nothing special, but not bad. Having grown up in Glendora, I liked the local paintings of Glendora landmarks on the walls (for sale etc.). It was clean. The food... blech. My eggs were buttery and had an off taste to them. My biscuits and gravy were a travesty. The bacon... honestly was pretty good... but one piece had an off taste... Price isn't too shabby. read more

Went in with a restaurant.com certificate and it was gladly honored by the servant. Very chilled nice restaurant in a slow pace town. We ordered Monte Cristo and French Toast Delight. Fried potato was done perfectly with a crispy outside and light inside. Portion size was perfect, both my bf and I had a little bit left but very satisfied. This place is horrible. Decided to go here because my time was limited and Kara's Korner was too busy. Walking in, I immediately noticed that the restaurant was practically empty. I should have taken that as a sign, but I was too hungry and too short of time. Next, after taking my seat, it became very clear that absolutely no effort was put into the design or atmosphere of this restaurant. The sole decorations were paintings that the restaurant was SELLING. Big turn off. The entire restaurant was poorly lit by gaudy colored lamps. And that was about it as far as the extent of decorative thought. Let me be clear this restaurant is flat-out lazy. Almost immediately after noticing a lack of atmosphere, my attention went to the massive sheets of paper that were thrown over the tables. Lazy. They don't want to put the effort into actually cleaning up the table, so they throw down a sheet of paper, and when you leave, they simply ball up the piece of paper and replace it with another sheet right off the roll that they undoubtedly have in the back. After reading the menu thoroughly, I decided to order the thick cut French toast. However, I was not sure how big the portion sizes were. So, the nice waitress tried to answer my questions and describe to me what the half portion was. Her description was "it's half of what the normal size it is". I had to explain to her that that description meant nothing to me because I had never been here before and did not know how big the French toast was. In addition to the French toast, I asked if I could have two scrambled eggs on the side. No big deal, right? Well, not long after I ordered, the meal did arrive in a very timely fashion. However, what they described as "thick cut French toast" was actually just two pieces of bread taken out of a loaf that was no doubt purchased from Sam's Club or Costco. Now, I don't know about you, but whenever I've had thick cut French toast in the past, they have been massive 1 inch pieces of bread generously soaked in a batter and cooked to perfection. This was, by anyone's standards, in no way shape or form "thick cut". It was pre-sliced loaf bread. Nothing special. Do you know how easy and cheap it is to bake your own bread? I mean, come on, you have a full restaurant kitchen. You can't take the time to make your own bread and serve TRUE thick cut French toast? Now, on to the syrup. One expects to receive a bottle of maple syrup that you can pour onto your toast, right? Not here. Here they are so lazy that they actually give you those little disposable tubs of Mrs. Butterworths where you peel back the mylar/cellophane seal and pour from a disposable plastic tub about 1" x 2". I mean you can't even give me a bottle of maple syrup? Or the option of perhaps a blueberry syrup or the like? Seriously, given the prices, I would expect something more. I literally paid eight dollars for two slices of bread. So, on to my eggs. Two scrambled eggs on the side. Easy, right? Apparently not. My eggs were served to me extremely overdone and, for some reason, chopped in to tiny pieces a bit smaller than sugar cubes. WHY!?! Coffee was weak and tasteless. Manager walked around a lot, but never stopped by any tables. In fact, when he was asked for coffee from a table that he just sat, he seemed put out, and immediately asked the waitress, who had quite a few tables, to take care of it. Nobody - I mean NOBODY - at any time asked me how thing were of if everything was okay. Probably a good thing as I would have let loose, but now, instead, they'll have to deal with this review forever. I give this restaurant NO STARS. That's not an option on yelp, so I'm just telling you. They can't even be bothered to try to excel at anything, so they get nothing from me. Especially my business. Go to Kara's Korner or Flappy Jacks. This place is run by amateurs who just don't care. read more

I was leaving the lash company (a few doors down) and I needed to pick up lunch before heading back to work. That's how I found this cute little place, the employee's are very pleasant. As I was waiting for my "to go" order" i was eyeing the desserts in the fridge case and was commenting to cashier about how yummy they looked and how I really wanted something sweet, but said my food better hurry before I order a dessert that I don't really need :) . So my order comes, and I leave for work... guess what I found in my to go order??? a small delicious brownie :) mmmmmmmmm Who does that these days??? Very nice surprise....
