My wife and I dined at this restaurant for the first time yesterday. We had a late breakfast. My wife ordered the country breakfast which came with eggs sausage two biscuits and gravy. I ordered their special French toast coated with cornflakes with cinnamon and sugar sprinkle on it and also a side order of crispy bacon. The food was good but not great. Two things I noticed were the biscuits were a little hard and the maple syrup serve with my French toast was poor quality as far as the taste. It did not taste like maple syrup. In fact it just tasted like sweet syrup with brown coloring. The service was a little slow. Once the host seated us we ended up having to wait at least 10 minutes before the waitress came to the table, sndthey were not busy. we both ordered coffee and water to drink and ended up having to wait another 10 minutes to get her coffee. Once our breakfast was served the waitress never came back to refill our coffee cups. We ended up having to ask another employee for coffee. We sat inside. The main dining area was clean and spacious. Some art on the walls was hanging but little else made the interior attractive. Will I go back and give them another try? Yes. Nice, local place to visit. I'm basing my review on one experience, which was a "Murder mystery" dinner theater event. The restaurant was nice and clean and the staff, including the mgr. were friendly and did the best one could expect considering the place was packed with patrons there, like us, to watch the show. I loved my breakfast at the Village Eatery! The service was great on a Sunday morning, everyone was so attentive and within reach when I needed something. I have always enjoyed The Village Eatery. This week I tried The Eatery Egg Scramble (Three Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Onion, Peppers, Home-Style Potatoes, and Cheddar Cheese mixed together and baked). I really enjoyed it for the most part. Although not listed in the ingredients, I am sure I noticed a touch of spiciness, which increased the flavor of the dish. Friendly service as soon as we walked in the door. Restaurant is roomy with two large rooms but it always felt like home - warm and inviting. I had the traditional french toast which brought back happy memories of childhood. We also had the breakfast burrito and a BLT. Don't get me started on those crispy breakfast potatoes! Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger was excellent....suggest using fresh avocado rather than guacamole. The mashed stuff made it too messy and not as tasty as the real thing. Nice little cafe and a good fit for Glendora. It's not the most amazing place you'll ever visit but it's very good. I love the outdoor seating on the sidewalk down Glendora Ave. It's wonderful people watching and fun community place. I love this place. It's the quintessential small town USA restaurant. A small location with friendly staff. Tables outside so you can enjoy your breakfast while taking in the view of beautiful tree lined downtown Glendora. Classic cars drive up and down the street with friendly neighbors walk their dogs. Inside it's decorated with art from local artists. If you like one of the pieces you can buy it from the artist. They support local events and the high school kids. The food is good. I love the croissant that is stuffed to the gills with cream cheese and raspberry jelly. Then lightly toasted and topped with powder sugar. The lox eggs Benedict is really yummy. Their sauce has a hint of lemon to it. If your into a hearty belt busting potato breakfast get the eatery scramble. Lots of delicious potatoes, eggs, meats, and veggies.
