Decided to drop in for a simple cheese plate and have a beer. Found out they only had 2 beers on draft (Stella and MNB Drafty Kilt). It took more than 30 minutes to create a "cheese plate" that had some sort of boxed/pre-seasoned cracker, store bought and pre-cut cheese, bad apples, and overripe grapes. I wasn't expecting fine dining, but I expected more than what I would find at a typical potluck. My husband, two of our friends and I were in Blue Ridge for the weekend and decided to stop into this quaint wine bistro. Our party of four was not a large party, but the server looked panicked when we entered. It had begun to rain and a few more people came in quickly after we did. The server was nice, but seemed very nervous. Service overall was SLOW!!!! We each ordered a glass of wine and it took literally 15 minutes for it to be brought to us. It was made a little worse because the bistro is so small that we could see the server pour one glass, help a few people, or wipe down the area and then pour another glass. Aside from the SLOW service the wine list was rather small for a wine bar and we did not recognize most of the wine. Also, it was even longer to get our food. That said the food was great! We ordered the cheese and cracker plate, which was perfect for four people to share. The only problem was that our server was unable to tell which cheese was what. The hubs and I split the turkey sandwich and it was the perfect amount of us. Overall, I would say that The Vine served it's purpose. It got us out of the rain. This place is truly a gem. We stopped in for a wine flight while exploring downtown. They have an excellent wine selection. What really impressed us was the service. Our server crafted a unique flight for each of us and was so knowledgeable about everything she had chosen. The restaurant itself is also very cozy and we loved the live music they offered on a weeknight! Honestly, if we weren't tourists to the area this would become a go-to spot. I'm so glad The Vine was open in Blue Ridge today! I wanted a cold beverage and a snack and happened into this quaint place and really enjoyed it. The staff here is great, friendly and conversational. I highly recommend grabbing the barrel table and seats by the window if you want the best away in the house and if you love to people watch, which I do and did as I sipped a bloody Mary (or two). The bloodmary was very yummy but the garnishment weren't very remarkable: the few olives on a toothpick & a plastic bendy straw took away from the beverage. Maybe some celery and/or bacon and/or pickled okra too next time. The cheese Flight was modest and I wasn't told what the cheeses were but I'm guessing a smoked Gouda, a Parmigiano-Reggiano, and their house made pimento cheese. These were accompanied by some of the most delicious green seedless grapes I've had in a while, strawberry slices, honey & crackers. All in all a nice experience and I will be back. So rude! We didn't even make it to the food part. Extremely rude waitress. We sat down with our kids. She proceeded to come over and in a very rude manner asked "what did I decide to drink?" I said, I hadn't decided. She then said I'll wait with a really mad demeanor and proceeded to stand next to me for the next few minutes. I've never seen anything like it. Felt so uncomfortable I cancelled the order and left. As we were walking out she said "so you decided to cancel your order?" My husband said yes sorry. And she stared us down until we left. This place is absolutely adorable, very small and limited seating so we felt lucky to find a table that was just finishing up and waited a few minutes till they were done. As we waited it was clear they were tremendously understaffed but the woman who I assume was the owner was doing the best she could. Unfortunately it took quite awhile for us to get our wine, luckily there was live music which was so fun to listen to, but what blew us away was once Michelle (I think that was her name) finally brought us our wine she apologized and said it was on her! She just went above and beyond by doing that and it was just so kind and we will absolutely be back!! Hopefully when that same singer is there because he was great!! This is a "MUST GO" during your visit to Blue Ridge!!! We live in Atlanta and drove up to Blue Ridge for the day and we happened to stumble upon this little gem in the heart of downtown. The moment we walked into this cozy little wine bar, we were greeted to live tunes by a talented singer(sorry forgot his name - he had on a Rush Tee) on his guitar playing some of yesterday's best hits that complimented the ambiance of this venue to a tee. We were quickly seated by Michelle - she was warm and welcoming, pretty and funny! She was super attentive and made really good recommendations from the menu. Soon after, the owner LeAnne stopped by to say hello and made sure we were being taken care of. She even treated us to a complimentary "big pour" glass of wine. Wow... so friendly...so generous! Love this place and the people! We intended to stop by for a glass of wine and instead spent the entire afternoon there...what a great experience!!! We go into Blueridge, Ga. to eat often. Just had lunch there this afternoon. First of all, there's new owners. Second, some of the ingredients have been changed. They obviously are not the owners who grow the veggies or buy local organic foods. They still advertise fresh ingredients, false, their salsa was straight out of a jar! Our sandwiches were bland. My boyfriend & I drove up to Blue Ridge today on a whim. I found The Vine on Yelp along the way, and was very happy our lunch justified the 1.5hr drive. My boyfriend had the grilled pimento cheese & bacon sandwich and loved it. I had the berry salad, which was full of fresh berries, goat cheese & roasted pistachios. Wow. Not sure how the locals rate but oh, my!. It's a wine bar, yet the wine list is unrecognizable and weak. Let's start with the low points. The restroom was filthy. The wine was served room temperature, in chipped glasses. We ordered Caprese, keep in my this is the only reason for the second star, it was actually pretty good - good mozz and balsamic. Unfortunately it was served with only one fork (there were two of us), the server asked if we needed a second, we said yes. A few minutes later he returned with a second fork. Unfortunately it had someone elses food particles attached to it. The napkins we were offered looked used. One of the plates we received was dirty. A few hours later we ended up in a random north Georgia winery - it blew "the vine" away. read more

Second time coming here while on my trip to blue ridge. The BBQ chicken flatbread is amazing. It's great for sharing! They have an outdoor patio which you will need to dress warm when cold out. When I'm in Blue Ridge, it is a pleasure to stop in for a visit at the Vine. Whether I'm with friends or alone, I'm always welcomed by Leeann, Freya, or one of their friendly wait staff. Despite the small kitchen, I fully enjoy the tidbits that I've been treated to over the years. Last night, I had a Southern Pimento Cheese on a different bread as recommended by the owner and was blown away. I had to be careful not to embarrass myself as I wolfed it down-lol! I just had to respond to the pretentious person (Thomas P.) who came into a WINE bistro expecting more the 2 BEERS on tap... go to a BAR or burger joint if you expect more than that at a WINE bistro. I also have a feeling that you have a maid or a mommy that does all of your cooking/food prep for you because you seem to think that food magically appears. I'll let you in on a little secret... food comes from grocery stores (not getting in to the semantics of that)! I know!! Mind blown, right? You would probably be surprised to know that a LOT of restaurants have to run out to the local grocery store during and after busy weekends so they can continue to serve pretentious jerks....oh and most places that serve crackers are PRE-BOXED... you, sir, are a jerk. Such a cute and fun bar!! A lot of things in town were closed due to COVID, so it was nice to find a fun and friendly bar to stop into to get a quick bit and a drink after a long day of exploring Blue Ridge. The bartenders and owners were so awesome and sweet! If you go, definitely get a Mule, they make theirs with Sake and it's delicious and refreshing!! We ordered the marinated olives and the cheese plate, both were yummy and hit the spot for a light snack. The decor was cute, I liked their wall of corks, the bar top was glassed in and had all these cool coins in it that were for K-9 Police and different military units. I didn't check out the back deck area, but it looked pretty fun out there with hanging lights and places to sit outside. There was supposed to be live music that evening, but the city stopped it because of COVID, so hopefully that will get to start back up soon! My husband and I came here several times during our vacation here near Blue Ridge. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, it's very quaint and friendly! The owner remembered us and even remembered our drink preferences. I personally like wine but know very little about it and both the owner and bar tender were extremely helpful to find something I like.
