It is hard to find an afternoon tea on Staten Island, so this was a welcome experience. Cozy little tea shop. Very friendly owner/server. It's nice that they plan events and activities, but we visited on a day that did not have an event. The space was decorated for the holiday in addition to lace/ a general aesthetic of what I might describe as an antique shop with lots of interesting things to look at. I was very excited for Staten Island to get its original afternoon tea spot. The decor of this place was very cozy and charming. However, I have to say the customer service could have been better. The woman who served as was warm however, there was a lack of people working. I think it was just her and another person in the kitchen. We waited 15-20 minutes for someone to come greet us. Another guest had to go into the kitchen to let them know there was more patrons. The bells at the door didn't give them enough attention. Another party came in, a party of 4, were greeted and seated before us. We were a party of 3... Our food also came out very very late, and the other pretty were also served much sooner than us. The price $60 per person I think is reasonable for the afternoon tea service that comes with 8 different half sandwiches, scones with jam and butter, and some sweets of chocolate covered strawberries, macarons, and a mini tart. Kids service is $25pp, and get 3 sweet sandwiches that are cut in hearts, with scones and each dessert. The kids have the option of juice or lemonade instead of tea. So if you're afraid that you will not be full, you will. No worries. Again with the service, they took in our order and it took a long time to get water since they were still working on the pots of tea. They also ran out of macrons so we had to split the cookie, and gave us extra strawberries. Unfortunately, one of our tarts had an eye lash on it. I let them know, and was able to substitute for the inconvenience. I really really had high hopes for this place. Since you need a reservation in order to attend the service, I was disappointed that they didn't have everything that was promised for the afternoon tea service and the service was slow that my kid complained there they were hungry. Absolutely adorable. I've never been to a tea house prior to this weekend and I'm kicking myself for not trying one sooner. As soon as you walk in, you can tell that every detail from the saucers to the art to the knobs on the doors were picked so intentionally. Each and every item has a vintage look and feel that creates the most comforting yet unique environment. The staff was also so passionate and knowledgeable on each choice my party of 6 and I made, down to where ingredients were sourced and how tea blends were made. I was originally skeptical of how filling this would be at $60 per person. However, it ended up being the perfect amount. My Easy Like Sunday Morning tea (a chocolate and lavender blend) was unlike any tea I've ever had and tasted similar to a chocolate covered jelly roll. It was served in such a large pot I must've had 5 refills. As for the sandwiches and the beet salad, they were absolutely delicious and I especially wished there was more beet salad to go around. My one recommendation would be come here with 2-4 people as opposed to 6, as the tables and couches get a little crowded. What a win for the island to gain a vintage tea parlor. read more
