I made my first visit to The Wharf's beach bar just yesterday, and I won't say this place is good, or bad, it's pretty much straight down the middle. First, I think this place specializes primarily in drinks, which is kind of sad if I'm being quite honest. They also don't have any mocktails or very few non-alcoholic options on their menu (major thumbs down). One important note: if you are sitting outside, you will probably get your food and drinks served in plastic, which I'm not necessarily a fan of. I ordered the nachos, which were good but also quite messy, so ask for extra napkins. read more

The Wharf is one of those restaurants that the food has never been the greatest, average at best but the atmosphere and sunsets make up for all its lacking. Another dinner, another sunset, an even bigger disappointment this time around. Service extremely slow. My son wanted pizza but yet we weren't told they didn't have pizza that night until we were ordering. So, we ordered appetizers to share. One steamed clams, one Bang Bang shrimp, one basket of fries. Food came. Cheese with fries cold and congealed with a hard skin on top. These frozen fries were not worth $10. Bang bang shrimp was a decent portion and had a really good taste but fried a touch to long, tempura batter hard. Clams, where to begin. Broth flavorful but it looked like a whole box of oregano was dumped on top of the clams, even though the menu descriptiondidnt even mention oregano. Most of the clams hard and chewy. Several had to be spit out because it was literally like chewing rubber. Bread for dipping, fresh and soft. This trip was definitely not worth the $70 and they add some sort of 3.5% technology fee to the bill. read more

This restaurant feels like it was designed by someone who hates diners. We were told the wait would be over an hour, so we headed to the "outdoor, seat-yourself" area which turned out to be a loud, smelly purgatory right next to dumpsters, porta-potties, and a live band playing at full volume like it was their final concert on Earth. I ordered a mojito to dull the senses. What I got was essentially a glass of rum with a mint leaf. Brutal. After 75 minutes of that mess, we were finally seated indoors. That's when the real disappointment began. One friend ordered the $50 steak, completely unseasoned and tougher than the experience we just endured. Another got the vodka penne (watery and flavorless) and never received her appetizer at all. I ordered the lobster ravioli except it was clearly cheese ravioli with a rogue lobster tail slapped on top like a weird seafood hat. To be fair, the servers were doing their best with an overwhelmed system, but the whole experience felt like a prank. The only good thing we left with? We walked in for dinner and were given 30 mins to be seated. They took our cell number to text when the table is ready. We checked in with the hostess 45 mins into waiting. Then again another hour later We spoke with the hostess twice checking in to see how long. Double checked the number. Each time we were told shortly about 20 mins. "just waiting for a table to clear". 2.5 hrs later we left....... Never telling anyone. NEVER did we get a text message to be seated! Disappointed! I need to post an update from our previous trips to the Wharf. We were not very impressed this time. It seems like the chef must have changed the way the food is made. The clam chowder which is normally very thick and creamy, was extremely viscous and not as good as it used to be. The fries my boyfriend got also were just okay... my bang bang shrimp was pretty good but it didn't take away from the fact that this place has one of our favorite clam chowders and it severely disappointed us. The lobster roll our friend got was huge and much different than previous years. We may be back but this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

The Wharf was our first time there. Not impressed at all!! Signs outside say Thursdays are 5 dollar fish/shrimp tacos. Tacos are plural. It doesn't specify $5.00 each taco. As far as the service....it was mediocre, the busser was miserable like she didn't want to be there. This place stresses me out writing this review. My friends and I decided to try a different spot for dinner this past weekend. When we arrived, we met our friends at the "beach bar" where immediately after turning the corner into it, you're smacked in the face with the smell of trash/sewage. We figured the smell would disperse after we moved around, nope. The live music (inside & outside) was great if I remembered to bring ear plugs to my dinner reservation.... the food was kind of horrendous.... my fiance ordered the steak for $50 and it was probably in attempt to char the steak (I suppose) it was just very burnt. I ordered the chicken parm which the chicken tasted like it was freezer burnt, and burnt burnt! The pasta tasted like grocery store brand linguine and I was overall very unimpressed. Inside dining experience was typical tourist seafood fare. For the prices they charge, they should offer better quality food/ingredients and better kitchen staff/chef. I don't know why any restaurant offers crab cakes if they're 80% bread filling - why bother? Shame on me for expecting differently. Seafood/Pasta in Vodka Sauce wasn't a pasta dish, it was soup, literally. So much sauce you couldn't see the pasta or seafood. Had to scoop it. Appetizers were low grade. This restaurants decor is beautiful and a very nice location, but I found all the food everything had no salt no flavor. I think that's one of the biggest travesties you make beautiful food and you give it no flavor whatsoever and salt is such a simple thing my sister ordered the special the stuffed flounder, and she said it smell fishy and lacked salt we didn't want any money off. We didn't make a stink, but when we were talking to one of the employees he said well it is a special does that mean they're specials are old and crappy when you see my pictures, the food looks amazing. We ate at the Wharf on Saturday and it was fantastic. I think when you go to a Resturant at the short on a Saturday you don't expect the best service or food but that was not the case for The Wharf. It was seat yourself for outdoor seating and after we picked a spot close to the water we were greeted by our server, Chris C, very quickly! We put in our drinks and they came very quickly as well! We ordered the clams and the crab bruschetta as apps and they were both pretty good! We then all ordered the snow crab pots! Three of us had the original and one of my friends has the hot garlic. The meat pieces were great in the snow crab legs! I thought the original lacked a little flavor for being in a sauce, but my friend who had the hot garlic said it was the best crab legs she ever had and they were full of flavor! That's what I would get next time! It was great to sit right on the water and enjoy the live music! Chris was a great server and we will be back when we come back to Wildwood! read more

I want to dine somewhere with a great view and somewhere where we haven't eat yet in Wildwood. And of course, my meal wouldn't be complete without cocktails and oysters. Found The Wharf, the reviews and the pictures definitely lure me and hub to this restaurant. We enter during dinner, so it was jammed. There were no hostess seating us, the folks at the cashier just told us to find a table and sit ourselves. I find that kind of odd, I mean who is gonna be our wait staff, anybody? We found a seat by the waters, and waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drinks. Honestly, I don't remember what we order bc everything were pretty MEH....... I think it is the view that's catching everyone's eyes, not too focus on their taste maybe, Idk. Btw that seafood bucket is really tasteless, and I think it cost $40, I would rather spend that $40 in a seafood-in-a-bag store. Avoid the lobster roll, the roll was dry and hard. I thought Jumbo's on the boardwalk's lobster roll is on the negative side, but Wharf's is worst. My daughter's spaghetti is bland too. Will I come back? The food was delicious. Ordered the bang bang shrimp and crab bruschetta and a lobster roll. Best bang bang shrimp we ever had. The crab bruschetta was good too but needed some seasoning. We prefer the lobster to be chunkier in the lobster rolls but overall not bad. The service was great and Eliza was very friendly and very attentive. The view was pretty descent as well. Started with a bottle of Rodney Strong Chardonnay. Reasonably priced and chilled perfectly. The rolls were not fresh at all. This was disappointing because they brought 3 types of butter for us to try. Up next the bacon wrapped scallop appetizer. Was not expecting the scallops to be fried, but they were light enough to not be too filling. The bacon was nice and crispy. For our main course my wife had the Salmon Oscar over a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of asparagus. All were perfectly prepared and delicious. The butter for the rolls mixed well with the potatoes. I had the flounder stuffed with lobster over a bed of risotto. Absolutely incredible!! For dessert we got the cheesecake in a cup. Very tasty and perfect in size. Also had the Bailey's martini. Not too strong and a great finisher. In all this was a great meal with great atmosphere. The service was quick and efficient, but we never felt rushed. Our server, MaryKate was extremely well versed on the menu options and was very welcoming. We came by boat and there were plenty of spots available to dock your boat. I had the Tito's blueberry lemonade to drink which was great. Was out jet skiing for the day with a friend and we started to get hungry for lunch so we pulled the jet ski up here. The deck was packed, and there was a live band that was playing which was really cool! I ordered the yellowfin tuna steak sandwich with a side of fries and Matt ordered a burger. Both were delicious! We were looking for a new place to try on a waterfront, and the restaurant was below expectations. There are different parts of the restaurant to fit different preferences from the outdoor deck for drinks and bar food, and the inside restaurant for a fancier dining experience. The drinks took forever to come to the table and were very, very strong. The appetizers didn't come out together, about 15 minutes in between bringing out the dishes. Everyone was eating appetizers at different times to prevent them from getting cold. The kitchen forgot to make one of the appetizers for a group of five people, so we had to cancel it. The dinners came out together, but substitutions weren't followed through on. When it was brought up to the waitress's attention, she did fix it right away with a generous serving of fries. The appetizers tasted well, but the dinners tasted much better. The dining room is right next to the bar, so you can hear the rock music playing in the room. There are curtains to separate the two experiences. Overall, I would give this restaurant another chance because the dinners were delicious, but it was a disappointing experience that I wouldn't recommend to a friend who wanted to eat with their company at the same time. Made reservations a week in advance for indoor seating only. Reservations were made easy with Open Table. When arrived I asked if we could be seated outdoors and was told we can check ourselves for a spot yet if we didn't like it they would sit us at our reserved seats. Walked outside and found a table to accommodate my party of 5. Ordered the fish tacos, shrimp tacos, kids chicken tenders, clams, loaded nachos and sushi. The fish tacos were my favorite. The meals came with fries. I recommend asking for fries with old bay! The strawberry mojito was recommended by our waiter after telling her what kind of drinks I prefer. Her recommendation wasn't a disappointment. 7:30pm reservations was perfect to get a sunset view. Truly a beautiful scenery. Regardless of a full house the waitress was attentive and quick. Prices are available online. Look out for the different menus. I found a bit more options with the outdoor menu. read more
