Off-season review: 3.5 stars. I have been here before and really loved it so I'm unsure if the off-season contributed as a major factor, if management has changed, or if the place just isn't as good as I remember but I left the meal with a "meh" feeling. The hostess ignored us upon our entrance but our server was very sweet and attentive once we sat down. I got the cava rosè - which was delicious - and we split the beer salad - recommended to us and did not disappoint, the clam chowder - tangy bordering on sour with chewy clams, and the house fish on sticky black rice - relatively small portion and not very flavorful; I preferred the tastes of the clams and salmon dishes I had. The ambience is cozy and warm but, until the pricey food makes up for its deficits, I don't plan on visiting again any time soon read more

The Wicked Oyster is alive and well--I had breakfast there just yesterday. I can only speak for the french press of loose leaf tea, the Garden Omelet and (as others point out) the very attractive waitresses and clientele, but truly, the omelets are out of this world. read more

Delicious food and nice ambiance! I wasn't in the mood for a heavy dinner. My husband and our group of friends decided to go to The Whicked Oyster for a late dinner. I didn't feel like eating, but I ended up eating from all my friends' dishes, my husband's and ordered my own entree. Food was yummy. I became a little piggy. A nice break from the annoying faubourgs of the Cape, the Wicked Oyster's attractive waitresses and clientele remind me that I am not on the edge of the world, but only a couple of hours from civilization. Great bar, ample selection of seafood that is thankfully not limited to oysters. read more

My wife and I were just driving around the Cape and randomly found this place. The oyster stew was out of this world. I can't put down in words how good it was. My wife just had a BLT, which was also top notch. Added to that, they know how to season their fries. Other good marks: friendly staff and good atmosphere. If you are on your way to Wellfleet, you shouldn't miss it. If you are on your way past Wellfleet, definitely take a break and stop in. read more

Everything was very good except the oysters. Fresh bread with roasted garlic was nice and the calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. Service was adequate and timely. Pan-seared cod and the swordfish were lovely and again, cooked perfectly. The only downside was the room temp, but fresh oysters. The menu looked inviting so we chose it for dinner. The hostess chose not to write down our reservation and stared blankly at us when we arrived. speechlessly, she sat us at a table. the waitress seemed uninterested and aemotional about her job. The water person arrived perfectly on time and smiled at each of us, though the waitress did not. The appetizers, duck and crab cakes tasted lovely and were delivered quickly. The calamari was served cold but we failed to speak up. We mentioned it only when the server took it away and we pointed out she had not touched it ad why. We ordered three glasses of wine but the Pinot was off. We had to ask our water person to find our server who acted as if we were wrong at first. our main dishes were flawless, filling and flavorful. the chefs mastered their skill, the others need to follow suit. read more

Went there for breakfast average at best. Service now that's a whole other discussion, and perhaps tainted my view on the food itself. I've heard about people being refuse specific request before but had never experienced it until today. When the waitress won't even ask the kitchen if they could add extra onions to some hashbrowns there something wrong. And I do mean a straight out refusal wouldn't even go and ask if the kitchen could do it just told us no they're not going to do it. Perhaps it's just in the season hangover, but I can find better ways of spending money. read more

The Wicked Oyster is much more upscale than I expected after exploring their website. It had just opened for the season and although we didn't have a reservation and it was packed, we were seated right away.The service was a bit slow, although we'll chalk that up to it being opening night and all. I was disappointed with the salmon I ordered. It was definitely fresh, but a tad overcooked and tasted more like grill than salmon. The vegetables and pasta it came with were delicious and I have had their fried oysters before and those are amazing. It was difficult to have a conversation because of the noise level, which was surprising, and it's on the pricier side. I might try their brunch or lunch next time. read more

Parking is a mess. We had dinner at 8:30pm on a Weds and the parking lot was difficult to maneuver to say the least. Service was spot on. The cranberry mojito was fantastic. The tuna sashimi and crab cakes were fantastic too! read more

This was a wonderful dinner that four of us enjoyed immensely. Our appetizers were oysters (which should have been served on ice-hence the 4 vs 5 stars), two servings of clam chowder which was very tasty and on the thick side, and calamari which was delicious. We had the pan fried sole, grilled fish (swordfish) special, pan roasted cod, and wicked burger. All entrees were superb and the land lubber was extremely happy with the burger. Fish was super fresh, prepared with flavorful sauces and perfectly prepared veggies. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. The servers were efficient and pleasant. My husband and I were looking for a nice place for lunch. We have a 6 month old and we never get a chance to enjoy ourselves. On top of that we live in the worst city ever and the only choice for a meal is Wendy's or Arby's. Soooo here we are on a mini vacay and walk into The Wicked Oyster. First impression: looks nice. Second impression: this place sucks. The hostess didn't even greet us. Threw down the menus and walked away. Wait...not even "enjoy your lunch". Ok I could look past that - she makes no cash and has to be there all day. But the third impression sealed the deal. The waitress had no personality and no skills with customer service. My gf and I went for 6:30 dinner with her family. The setting is casual in the midst of charming Wellfleet. Our server was attentive despite the place becoming quite busy. Jillian and her daughter shared the butternut fritters with smoked tofu. I had a bite and thought it was mild and light and nice. Her son loved his clam chowder. J's hubby gave me a taste of his lobster bisque. I would go back JUST for that. Crispy lobster and a grilled tomato in the middle..wow...nice taste but it seemed luke warm vs hot. The best part of my meal was the bread. Not sure how to describe it but it was flat yet had a yeasty soft texture. I chose the EVOO but it came with roasted garlic. My entree was the roasted haddock in a lovely broth with leeks and fingerling potatoes. I love all aspects but not the fish. It was a tiny 4 oz serving and overcooked with the skin on. Jillian chose the panko crusted sole and honestly there was about 12 ounces of lovely fish. She enjoyed it. The others had the filet, scallops and chips and a burger. My family doesn't eat out much when we're in Wellfleet - why bother when you can buy fresh oysters and lobster and fish at Hatches and eat on your very own deck? But once in a while we change from swimsuits into actual clothes and go out, and the Wicked Oyster is a more-than-decent destination. I'd choose it over Mac's for sure. The one thing on the menu you must absolutely order is the littlenecks & linguica appetizer. The rich broth has a delicious citrusy tang which elevates this cape cod classic. read more

So it was my sister in law's birthday and we had gone to cape cod for that day. My brother had made the reservations for dinner and we left the beach to make the reservations. Three of us ordered the duck which was delightful, my mom ordered some type of fish with a salsa? (not that great), but I think my sister in law got the scrod? which was recommended by the waitress and it got great reviews by my brother and sister in law. Went for dinner, early on a weeknight. Main room has amazing wide plank pine floors - but the hostess couldn't tell us how old the building was. The appetizer of "steamed mussels with pickled banana peppers and red onion, in a white wine-lime broth, served with grilled bread" was so good that I wanted a second order instead of a main course. The hamburger I did have was fine ... but the mussels were unbelievably good. Also, the odd bath-soapy-tasting lavender martini turned out to be a great complement to the herby mussel broth. I'm sure they had been really busy all day and we came in towards the end of the night, but the service was wonderful and the food was delicious! I will definitely be back when I visit Wellfleet. Went for breakfast this morning and was not disappointed. I am seven months pregnant and all the food was just what I was looking for. Location was easy to access with plenty of parking in the back. Cozy interior with beautiful furniture and pleasant staff. I got the coastal omelette which has sour cream, Swiss, avocado, onions and bacon. It was the perfect size and perfectly cooked with no chewy overcooked eggs like some omelettes can be. The side of potatoes were amazing, very herby, but perfect on their own. I also got the short stack of pancakes with 100% syrup and it was the perfect "dessert" for my breakfast. Will certainly be going back for breakfast and to try their dinner! read more
