We got some apps (crab cake, calamari, oysters) the oysters were my fav bc you can't go wrong with Wellfleets in Wellfleet!! The crab cake was also really good I would order it again. Everyone's entrees were nice and big and fresh. The salmon was my favorite but one of my companions got the swordfish and it was also really good (it. And with potatoes yummm). We split a couple bottles of wine and our waitress was great about keeping our glasses full nice place if you're out in Wellfleet, feels like a nice sit down but is still comfy and friendly. If you're in Wellfleet, it would be a wise decision on your part to eat at The Wicked Oyster. I'm from Michigan, so everything on the Cape is new and exciting, and if it wasn't for Yelpers, I would have no idea what is actually worth your time and money. Unfortunately the one star taken away comes right at the beginning. We walked in without a reservation and you would have thought it was the end of the world. The hostess made it very clear this would probably ruin her whole night but she was going to take a chance and seat us anyway. Luckily the bad juju stopped there and we laughed it off. The atmosphere is very cozy, with it's dim lighting and local art on the walls. Our server was extremely friendly and prompt. I can't remember her name but she was tall, thin, and had dark hair. Great job if you're reading this!!! I couldn't decide on the scallops or the filet. I mean, being at a place called The Wicked Oyster I felt compelled to order seafood but I was really in the mood for steak. Plus it was our last night on the Cape and I'd been eating seafood all week. Between the 2, our server recommended the filet so I went with it. Delish! I would say probably in the top 5 I've ever eaten. This filet was thickly cut, just as it should be. It was perfectly tender and cutable, and extremely juicy. And whatever juice/sauce they had with it should be bottled and sold on the black market. I was ready to lift my plate and tilt it right into my mouth. This was recommended by our hosts at Fort Hill B & B. Great recommendation, too! Miss Mary and I had arrived for an extended weekend on the Outer Cape. It was our first visit to this wonderful region of beaches, sand, and glorious respite from the cares of work and the world (and it was off-season, too!). We drove down from Maine early Friday, passed through locked-down Boston, and were eager to get away from the 24/7 news fixation on terror. The Outer Cape couldn't have been more apropos. After checking in at our wonderful B & B, we headed to Coast Guard Beach and had spent the afternoon enjoying the sun, surf, and sand. By 5:30-ish, we headed into town in Wellfleet, a unique community just off Route 6. We hit a local wine tasting and driving back out of town, saw the Wicked Oyster, remembered our hosts mentioning it for dinner, and pulled into the half-filled parking lot. We grabbed a seat at the bar and our bartender came over and immediately started chatting us up. Cocktails in hand, and an interesting menu before us, with a good portion of it based on local foods, we knew we'd made the right choice. We started with some Wellfleet oysters, which were great. My wife had the scallops and I went with the pork chop. Both were done well, with great sides. Miss Mary's risotto was perfect and my chop, cider-brined, came with cheesy grits (always a treat when you can get them, outside the South) and carmelized apples and pears as the glaze. It seems our new custom is to brunch it up at the Wicked O right after checking out of our summer rental, to enjoy each others company one last time until we all depart from Wellfleet until next year....*sigh* Try and get there a bit on the early side, as this place gets jumpin' around 11am and you'll be waiting for a table (and parking). The brunch is rock solid. The omelets are wonderful and fluffy and fill me with brunch serenity. The french toast is obnoxiously good. And the side of corn beef hash is worth the hardening of your arteries. The kicker is that its all fairly priced. I've been here for dinner once as well, and it was inferior to the brunch. The dinner menu is well done, but the fish I ordered was overcooked and a bit sub par. I'd come back though - it must have been a fluke (no pun intended!!), as the brunch is pretty damned special. Disappointing !!!!! My wife had the most bland cod fish with no spice or sauce. The fish was fresh and a nice portion but we left over half as it had zero taste. My duck was small and all fat. It actually upset my stomach....... Service: The waitress was extremely pleasant ......when she stopped by. SLOW.!!!! It took 2 hours 15 minutes to get entree. Needless to say, we didn't get dessert. Nor did they offer it on the house or a drink. Excellent food in a charming location. Went on a Tuesday night with the spouse and were seated immediately. Server was very friendly and funny. Great selection of drinks-- try the Wicked Brew if you like vodka! The only downside was that it seemed like no one was clearing glasses and plates, we had to ask a different server to have someone clear our plates at least 15 minutes after we had finished. Great seafood entrees for dinner and the Oysters Rockefeller Tart is the best appetizer, if you're willing to wait for a table...but when in Wellfleet I think seafood should be cooked at home. I'm reviewing this place for the breakfast! Fantastic breakfast! The French Toast is particularly good, although the smoked salmon Benedict is a great choice, too. Any omelet is great. Delicious coffee and hot chocolate, and nice and spicy (with horseradish) Bloody Marys to really get the day going. They stop serving breakfast at noon, so don't dawdle. I had a wonderful dinner at the wicked oyster. I ordered the Paloma fizz, pan fried sole and Meyer lemon cake last night. The sole was delicious, but the cream sauce was a little too rich for me. The Meyer lemon cake was light and delicious. My parents ordered the lobster risotto and I had a bite and immediately wished I had ordered that instead of the sole. They serve up a very good brunch menu complete with some of the best blueberry muffins (my heaven will have muffins) anywhere. Pair that with local coffee from the Wellfleet coffee roasters (the real name escapes me but the coffee is great) and you're golden. Check out the bulletin board if you want to rent a house, take a yoga lesson, buy shellfish, take a painting class... And the local art on the walls adds to the experience. A solid brunch choice. If craving sweet, order the belgian waffle -- perfectly toasted yet soft texture, and the fruit (blueberries, strawberries, kiwi) is so fresh. If craving savory, order the eggs benedict. the ham is nice and thick (not the deli kind), the egg muffin is fantastic, and the poached eggs are lightly seasoned. Do NOT order the omelets. They are nothing special. The homefries are salty, but I like them that way. The toast is disappointingly soggy. We've been going to The Wicked Oyster for 4 years. Each time it has been consistently good. We normally go for dinner, but two weeks ago we went for Sunday Brunch. With a name like "Wicked Oyster" in Welfleet, you should order seafood. It is always excellent. The wine list sports a good selection of wines starting at reasonable prices. A friend suggested The Wicked Oyster. He knew the chef. We are very glad that he told us about this great Lower Cape restaurant. read more

Major league fail for the Wicked Oyster. The chowder was great. It goes downhill from there. Our server was overworked, tired, and clearly didn't want to be there. She started out poorly by greeting us and saying "okay I see you got drinks already. Are you ready to order food?" No hello, no going over the menu, no telling us about the specials. After placing our order, our food took way too long to come out. Parties who were sat after us were served their main course before we got our appetizers. The food was rather underwhelming. The Wicked Oyster was "wicked good". Hubby and I stopped by last week during our Cape Cod stay. I'm going straight to the food because everything leading up to the food was outstanding . Hubby ordered the grilled black angus tenderloin, while I ordered shrimp risotto. While waiting for our main course, we indulged in raw oysters. The were fresh and tasty. Once our food came I must say I was said I didn't order the tenderloin my hubby received. OMG it was SOOOOOO good - very tender and the sauce was incredible. In comparison, my risotto was overcooked and bland. Thankfully, hubby was very generous (after his white crest martini) with his steak. We literally licked his plate clean. Great compliments to the chef for that simple yet tasty bourbon carmel sauce. We never made it to the desserts - DARN! The score would have been higher had my dish been as exceptional as hubby's. read more

I've been coming out to our Cape house long before Wicked Oyster arrived. While it is a welcome addition, they've still not grown up. Service has always been a mixed bag. Esp. during high season, there's always been an attitude of you're lucky to be there. My main gripe comes at breakfast/brunch. Again, the food is okay, nothing earth-shattering. The issue is their nickle-and-diming you with things like a bogus $1.75 charge for "real" Vt syrup. Plus, they are in the dark ages with their lame, illogical substitution policies. The fruit's the same price as your crappy homefries, what gives? I hope they grow to be more customer-centric, & fast. I opt for Savory & Sweet Escapes for a tasty breakfast w/ a nice, helpful crew. read more

It's quieter than the restaurants in Provincetown, which makes it a nice place to see friends or catch up with family. After a great weekend in P-town, we wanted to find a place to eat breakfast on our drive back home. We found The Wicked Oyster through google. I was quite hungry and a big breakfast gal. I ordered two eggs with bacon, toast and home fries along with a short stack of chocolate chip pancakes. WOW! Everything was perfect for such a basic breakfast. The chocolate chip pancakes with real maple syrup was the highlight. I enjoyed every single bite. I hope to go back again when we visit. read more

Walked into this establishment and the setting was quaint and calm for an early morning breakfast! My family and I ordered some pancakes, the wicked omelet which was a personal favorite (so fluffy and filling but also tasteful) came with home fries and a choice of toast. The everything bagel with an easy over egg was ok to say the least and the plain bagel with sausage egg and cheese was decent. The home fries were a little too soft for my preference but were still good!! July 2018 - UPDATE - Breakfast is still as Yummy as we remembered it from our last visit. We ordered the same exact meals. The Waffle with fresh Strawberries and the Vegetable Omelet - Yum, Yum! And the Waffle was freshly made, not made hours before. The coffee is a little too strong or bitter for my taste, but I dealt with it because I need the caffeine in my system after our 4-5 hour drive from Westchester, NY. Parking is limited and hard to find, have lucked out each time but expect to get creative. We try to make it a regular stop whenever we are in Wellfleet, most recently a few days ago. Cocktails : we had reservations but got there intentionally a few minutes early in order to have a few cocktails at the bar. Very well crafted and tasty drinks. Worth making an effort for. Winelist : I'm not a Somm but I know my wines and the current winelist is a bit of a letdown. I really wish they spent more time curating and offered more uniqueness. Many of the cheaper wines are pretty run of the mill. If I wanted to drink them I'd head to Olive Garden. Thus, we brought our own bottle. The $10 corkage fee was quite reasonable! Will likely just do this from now on. Ordered crabcakes and the filet. Filet was perfection and I do like the bourbon sauce, though it was used sparingly this time - so more meat flavor came through. The crabcakes were pretty disappointing. Not the worst I've ever had, but they were dry and flavorless, basically just bread/filler. You needed water to get them down. Service overall was excellent, but it seems like the place is getting a bit stagnant. I'll be curious to see what its like next year. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. read more

This was the most delightful brunch I have had in a long time and that's not just because of Covid. They have done a lovely job of setting up tables in their back garden that are well spread out. The food was absolutely superb. We had mimosas and two kinds of Benedict. They smoke their own salmon. The corn beef hash was amazing and homemade. There was a great omelette with pesto and goat cheese and other things. The home fries were among the best ever. It was so great to find this Little oasis with great food. read more

I'll give this one three stars although i would give the service and ambiance a higher score. My wife and I split the tomato soup and fig/falafel appetizer - great stuff although we only had two tiny triangles of pita toast with the falafel. I'm not big tomato-based soup fan but my wife really thought it was great. That followed with two salads - she had a beet salad and i had a "greens" salad. Although mine was tasty some of the greens were past their prime and i needed to send it back. It was quickly replaced. I had the striped bass special ($26!) but it was great. Nice lima beans and green onion puree around it. My wife had a the baked tofu with polenta and although the polenta was good, the tofu was too salty We drank glasses of a South African Brut and an Argentinian Malbec excellent). Dessert was a banana cake, excellent, and a creme something, pretty good, nothig special. Close call but i can't give it four stars. read more

Husband and I were in Wellfleet a couple of weeks ago and ate here twice - once ourselves and once with friends. Terrific food, delicious oysters and a really cute partially enclosed patio (with heat lamps) that was great for blocking the wind. Tables were well spaced and everyone was masked up. I've been coming to Wellfleet for 47 years and this was my first time to The Wicked Oyster. My husband and I left the teens at the cottage for a date night and we were not disappointed. The building is old and beautiful. We had yummy bourbon cocktails before dinner. Then we enjoyed 6 Wellfleet oysters on the half shell which were SO fresh and delicious. Followed by a watermelon salad that was a perfect transition into our entrees of scallops and fish. All the seafood was incredibly fresh. The service was on point. We finished with a chocolate bombe (PJ's?) that was rich and tasty. Highly recommend! read more
