Looking through the menu I really thought I had found a gem. However, not so much. The armadillo eggs were supposed to be fried brisket and cheese stuff jalapenos. which sounds amazing, but the filling was more like a puree of brisket and cheese, weird texture definitely no tender bits of brisket which was a shock. I would've like some chopped brisket in the filler, but the texture was way off. I went on to have the smokehouse sampler with Chicken, Brisket, and Pulled pork. I got Brussel sprouts and mac & cheese for sides. The brisket was dry and felt reheated. The chicken was tough and the breast was over cooked, and the pulled pork was dry and bland. The only thing saving this food was the sauces. For a smokehouse, the food doesn't have the flavor profile of smoked meat. My wife got the eastportorican, which is a cuban, but it was dry. There was only 1 server for all the tables, so I'm not sure if they were just under staffed and having a hard time, but you only get one chance at a first impression and this was not a good one. I actually had no complaints about our server either, she was doing better than most people would in her situation, and the customers were pretty patient.

They're executing all of the expected classics at a level above their corporate competitors over at mission. Brisket was juicy, sausage was plump and well seasoned, beef ribs were very good, fatty and chewy but in the way you want them to be, sides were better than average as well. Flawless potato salad, nothing to criticize with the Mac and cheese and the beans with perfect, meaty and savory but also sweet and not too mushy. The decor on the inside is eclectic and fun. As far as American style non Chesapeake regional bbq goes Klobys leaves nothing to be missed or wanted. As is standard with this type of bbq, they offer all of the standard American bbq sauces including both Carolina mustard base and Alabama white. Prices are a bit high but that's more likely due to the billionaire in the White House and his horrific policies causing the cost of food to skyrocket than the restaurant themself.

On July 2, around 3:00 p.m., a friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich without the bun, and it came with a side of fries. Everything seemed normal at the time, but later that day I became extremely ill. I have since been diagnosed with food poisoning, and more than 48 hours later I am still dealing with the symptoms. Based on the timing of my illness and my medical evaluation, I believe this meal was the source of my food poisoning. This experience has been physically exhausting and has completely changed my confidence in eating here. Food safety should always be a top priority, and unfortunately my experience has left me very concerned. I sincerely hope the restaurant reviews its food handling and preparation practices so no one else has to go through what I've experienced. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend dining here.

To start it reminds me of a truck stop because not only can you get food, you can coffee, slushies and gas (Caroll Fuel). They also offer sweet desserts from the Amish Market and raw butcher's meat in the freezer section along with fresh milk and beverages. Onto the food....the setup is easy because you order your food on a kiosk like you can at most restaurants. You bunch in your cell number, pick your food, and type in your name for pickup. We order a few items, a pulled pork sandwich, hand carved turkey sandwich, half slab of ribs, onion rings, pit beans (which is a trio of beans), and hand cut fries (which will remind you of Boardwalk Fries). The wait wasn't long at all, it took about only 10 minutes to get all of our food. The fries and onion rings were hot and fresh out the grease, the sandwiches were loaded, and the ribs were seasoned and cooked perfectly.

Today I tried the open faced turkey with fries and gravy, brisket quesadilla, collards, and Mac and cheese. I was able to grab a seat after ordering at the kiosk. The open faced turkey was delicious and a great portion. The Mac and cheese is some of the best I've had. I definitely advise checking this place out!

We sat in addition where it was rather loud due to 5 kids at one table with their parents, and another party of 12 in there. The acoustics aren't terrific. Didn't ruin the experience, but just know in case you are sensitive to noise. Ask to sit in other areas. Very friendly employees! From the moment you step in. Hostess was nice and our server was terrific (shout out to Riley). She kept checking in on us and made sure that we had all that we needed. We ordered a margarita and I wouldn't recommend this at all. It tasted like lemonade and a some tequila. They also put sugar on the rim. It was subpar to say the least. It was nothing as described on the menu (fresh squeezed lime juice). We ordered the fried pickles for an app and I highly recommend them. The sauce that is served with them is great! For entrees, we ordered the Bone & Butt (ribs w/pulled pork) with a side of baked beans and a burnt ends meal with sweet potato fries. The ribs and pulled pork were absolutely great! Even the burnt ends were good too. However, I do like super wet sauces and they do come drenched in BBQ sauce. That was a me problem as I should have asked and I forgot. I should have ordered them plain. The corn bread was okay. We asked for butter for that. The fries were fabulous. The baked beans equally as good. There are two different sauces on the table for you to put all over the things. You can tell that they are making these things in house and take great care to make sure that they are good quality. The portions are terrific and the prices super reasonable. They have an extensive dessert menu. We didn't order as couldn't fit anything else. We even had to take to go boxes. This is located near Great Wolf Lodge! If you are staying there, this is super close and worth the drive. It's also not far off of 95 so if you are in the area swing by - worth the drive off of 95 (not far at all). Would for sure come again! Very tasty.

Now, moving to the food... in ordered the pit beef sandwich and it was amazing! The meat was tender and the potato salad paired nicely with it! My fiancé got the trio slider and each meat was delicious! The pulled pork was slightly on the drier side compared to the beef and turkey. The onion rings were also amazing! I was in my office that day in Columbia & had close work travel that afternoon to Ellicott City. Rather than make the long commute back to my home at the time Arlington, VA, I sometimes did things after work like go to Meetup group or other activities to avoid traffic. On this day, I had a date. She lived in Carroll County like Sykesville or Eldersburg. I had met her at a Meetup group, got her #, and got a date set up. She wanted to enjoy St. Patty's Day at Ten Oaks Tavern. It was a cool place, had some green beer, and it was a good date overall although it was a bit crowded and noisy, but it was St. Patty's Day. Staff was nice as I recall. Afterward, made the long drive back home and late a late bite at like Wendy's close to home at like 11 o'clock at night as I might've had a big and/or late lunch that day. Perhaps, we split an appetizer, but there wasn't any seating, we were standing the whole time some of which at the bar, would've been tough to eat here. Overall, Ten Oaks Tavern was a solid bar, which I'd return if I was ever over here.
