Los Angeles hype doesn't mean the business will be a success in Santa Barbara.

Average fast food at best, overpriced, serving frozen fries, burnt Brussels sprouts and obnoxious rap music. I asked the staff what bread, roll or bun the fried chicken sandwich came on. The three staff members had no clue and one girl said flour. I told the girl she should be a comedian with that response. No refills on soda. The only party making money with the $10,000 a month rent is the landlord. The chairs on the sidewalk are cracking and breaking too. I won't return to this establishment. Honor Bar in Montecito has a hamburger and chicken sandwich that is many times better for the same price with a better ambiance, better service along with better quality ingredients.

The Window is always buzzing with people at all hours of the day. They serve amazing burgers. The buns are soft, but not soggy. The patties are perfectly charred and the toppings melt together beautifully to create the most solid, yet simple burger I've had in a while. I was most excited about their dipped cones, which are fresh and creamy. The peanut buddy is a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate, covered in a crunchy but smooth peanut coating. Wonderful, wonderful, amazing place with lots of seating and parking! The outdoor patio has lots of bugs flying around :( but we sat on the stools near the street and had no problems there.

I ate lunch at the Santa Barbara Win-dow location. I ordered the grain bowl with a patty added. It was a great deal for $10. And SO nice to have fast food that is not all grease. Thanks!! The bowl had brown rice, pickled fennel, roasted broccolini, carrot ribbons, kale, cilantro, and radish on it. It came with a small dressing which was delicious! I enjoyed the bowl and would def come here again.

Dang. What a great burger experience. Worth the hype. We tried their cheeseburger and their double cheeseburger. The buns were buttery soft and the meat was perfect. My biggest worry with smash burgers are that they always tend to be greasy but not these! Also the portion size was perfect. We each got fries as well. They were perfectly crunchy. How all fries should taste. We got two sauces: their house sauce (think thousand island) and jalapeño. The house sauce was my favorite for the burger and fries but the jalepeno would be great on a chicken sandwich (which they have!). One of the big winners of the night was their milkshake. We got their local strawberry. It was perfectly creamy and the strawberries tasted hella fresh. Would highly recommend. Everyone that worked there was lovely and fast. It's a small joint where you order at the window and the call out your name. There's seating around the location on either side with only about 4 true tables so when it gets busy I could forsee big groups having a hard time finding a spot to sit. We walked here but there was a parking lot behind it with some spots. Please note that a lot of people got food to go by parking on the street and jumping out.

First time and it was Outstanding. The burger was so yummy and tender to eat. So much flavor. The frys with ranch were also yummy. Outdoor small seating area makes it feel like Santa Barbara. Seems like a small habit kind of place but the burger was absolutely delicious. Order at window and pick up when number is called. Quick burger spot. Highly recommended.

This is officially my favorite Smashburger in town (sorry, Third Window)! Their prices are super reasonable and the food is delicious! The massive lines have gone down since this place first opened in Santa Barbara. I've also had the SB Grain Bowl made with brown rice, six veggies, two seeds, and soft egg which is pretty yummy too. I was still pretty hungry though after eating, it so next time I added a Patty. Parking can be difficult, but can usually be found on the street if the small parking lot which it shares with Lighthouse Coffee and other businesses is full.

Wanted to try something local (eventhough I am a fan of Habit Burgers) and check out Win-dow. As stated in the name, you walk up to the window to order. Tried their cheeseburger and Impossible burger, fried brussell sprouts and fries. Buns were sweet and soft.. kind of .like a hawaiian sweet bread...burgers with the crispy pickles were very tasty. Dipped my fried crispy brussel sprouts in ranch. Seating is ultra casual and all outdoors...perfect for a mild weather day. Will have to try their 3 day flavor option dipped soft service cream cones. They were super popular.

It was my first time trying Win-Dow! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries with a side of the house sauce. The cheeseburger was delicious and the fries paired perfectly with the house sauce. The staff were friendly and the outdoor seating area was clean. There's a small parking lot, plus street parking and a parking garage right across the street.

I was excited to try this place, but sadly disappointed--a poorly constructed burger with good meat quality but extremely Salty. The fries were crispy but over-salted. Friendly, efficient service. Extremely uncomfortable, hard, small marble seats, with little shade. It's though the tables and fixed umbrellas were a whimsical approach rather than a functional one. Also, .65 cents for extra sauce? C'mon

This spot is so good. Burgers are great. Price is a deal imo. Parking is super easy/free. Ordering has always been quick even when it's busy, and food comes out relatively quick. Burger is fairly filling compared to other places (looking at u, third window). Not a fan of the fries though. Tastes like stale McDonald's the one time I had it. Chicken sandwich is nicely fried but bland.

Love the location. It's such a cute little outdoor seating with awesome music. The workers are super nice and friendly. It's a must have when visiting Santa Barbara.

The burger = great taste, great price. The fries are pretty mid and the shakes are okay in my opinion. I also have experienced a yucky avocado (over ripe or just a bad batch) on the side with my burgers that isn't pleasant to eat. Deducting stars because the stools in the seating area are just about the worst possible option I've ever sat on. The stool is a flat circle with the smallest diameter possible, and a terrible inch wide ledge to somehow rest your feet on?? Not sure if the intention here is to prevent long dining times with shitty seating, but man it's uncomfortable to eat your food while your feet can't even stay on the foot rest

The Win-Dow is such a great addition to Santa Barbara! The burgers are simple but so good. They're juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Their fries are perfectly crispy, and the soft-serve is the best sweet treat to finish things off. Although I will say that the portions are small. It reminds me if Habit and In and Out had a baby in a positive way. Compared to those two places, the serving size is smaller. The vibe is super casual and fun, perfect for a quick bite with friends or a late-night craving. Service is fast and friendly, and the prices are really reasonable for the quality you're getting. Came here on a Wednesday afternoon at around 12:45 and the line looked long, but we were at the front in a few minutes. I got the grain bowl and it came with fresh delicious ingredients! It felt like a good deal at $8 and the rest of the group got the cheeseburgers and kale salad and fries and enjoyed them, but said the salad dressing was too tangy. Will definitely be back to try other menu items! Plenty of seating and a fun atmosphere! read more

If you're looking for an average-tasting slider, then The Win~Dow is for you. I was genuinely excited when The Win~Dow opened in Santa Barbara. I went there for lunch and took my order to go. But when I opened the bag at home, I was shocked--two tiny sliders? I thought there had been a mistake. The beef slider was bland and lacked any real flavor. The chicken sandwich wasn't much better--honestly, Chick-fil-A does it better. For the price, it just wasn't worth it. If you're in the area and craving a good burger, skip The Win~Dow. Go across the street to Eureka or head to Chubbie's on De La Vina for something far more satisfying. Unless they make serious improvements, I wouldn't be surprised if The Win~Dow doesn't last more than two years in this location. Seriously--don't waste your money. read more

Came here and line wasn't too long but usually does have a longer wait time so be prepared for that. I got the double hamburger and fries and they were solid. I really enjoyed the buns as they used a sweet brioche and seating was very nice with good views of the city. read more

Looking for casual inexpensive lunch in downtown Santa Barbara and Win-Dow is right at the street with great visibility as a burger stand. There menu is simple but offers healthy options as well as guilty pleasures like burgers and double cheeseburgers. They have healthy bowls and shakes. Service was fast and friendly. Ordered a fried sandwich but wish I added fries. Delicious. There's seating on high tops under umbrellas outside, along outdoor counters or single seats in front that are in the shade. Jealous of people who live or work nearby because they can go often and try the entire menu. Hope to be back. read more

So there are literally dozens of small burger places popping up. Most of them in the "smash burger" theme. Really pretentious and overpriced...not worth local business time! Tasty and affordable burgers in an accessable location. Service was fast and friendly. Location is a bit exposed but music was on-point and decor is brilliant. Burgers: classic smashburger parties with creamy cheese. Meat is crispy on the edges and full of flavor. Splendid value at $4.50, though I'm not sure those prices are permanent. Fries: comparable to those from Third Window and chubbies, although less are given than at Third Window and sauces aren't included. Ice cream: the peanut buddy is perfectly creamy soft serve topped with a thick layer of magic shell. It's everything you're imagining and more. My family had great experiences with the mint and salted caramel as well. Overall conclusion: delicious package as a whole, and very reminiscent of a classic burger joint from times long past. A true breath of fresh air in our community. read more

Best Smashburger in town. The bun is SO doughy and mashable. The patties are thin and crispy on the edges. Simple and really inexpensive. Such a treat for us in fancy Santa Barbara! I ordered it to go online, skip the line. Overall the sandwich was good, wish it had been spicier even with the extra jalapeño sauce. The bun was good, and I added cheese. The fires were good. Overall, it was good. That's it. Good, nothing spectacular but not bad at all. I heard great reviews about their shakes and ice cream, sadly you can't order those through Toast. I'll have to come back and try them. The space is small, not a lot of outdoor seating so just be aware. The pricing is great also. read more

Amazing smash burgers at an amazingly reasonable price. The double smash burger is more filling and bang for your buck than Third Window at half the price. Fries are great, too. Worth the wait in the line - the line goes pretty quick. Also great outdoor seating area, with good lighting after dark. Parking can be a bit tricky but worth the walk even if you have to park far farther away. read more

Am understanding this place is popular and receives high reviews. Am told the chicken sandwich is good. The prices are good, however the smash burger was not as flavorful and well seasoned as the other "window" restaurant, even though the cost is higher. My chocolate shake was good, service is polite, French fries were better than most places. Didn't mind too much that an additional 3% is added to final cost, but think it would be better if they were just upfront and included in the shown price. Is this done for some tax reason? read more

I was inspired to eat here after seeing the long lines and hearing the many positive reviews, but I don't understand what the fuss is about. The food is perfectly "fine" (the burger meat itself was tasty and cooked well), but much of the rest of the meal was just ok. Portion sizes are small (I left hungry, which I can't remember doing from a burger place in a really long time!), the cheeseburger was really over-sauced with their house thousand island dressing so everything else on the burger was drowned out, they charge extra for dipping sauces for the fries (which were over over salted and also a small portion). To top it off, the shake machine was broken, so I ordered a soda which also didn't have free refills (especially annoying with an over sauced burger and over salted fries...I was thirsty!). I was also pretty confused as the service wasn't very fast....I specifically went at 3 pm to avoid the line and indeed there was none (I walked straight up to the window)....it still took 15 minutes to get a cheeseburger and fries. Long story short, I'm glad I tried this place so I won't wonder about it and if friends suggest going, it wasn't terrible, so I won't balk going back, but for my money, go to MesaBurger....way better value, service, options and most importantly, tastier burgers. read more

The burgers are completely worth the hype. And we came today for the steak and egg breakfast burrito...the brisket melts in your mouth. The service is friendly and helpful...the prices are right so be generous on the tips! The seating is plentiful... wraps around the sides of the building also...best spot is the bar that runs along Chapala for people/car watching. The menu has items to make the non-carnivores happy like the grain bowl and kale salad. Also shakes and cones. Coke products on the fountain. read more

Prices - 5 Stars Ingredients quality - 5 stars Food taste - 5 Stars CELIAC AWARENESS - 5 Stars I have celiac and have never once had a reaction. They've got bomb gluten free buns and a separate fryer for fries and such. Their grain bowl tastes like it could save my life. Burger is cool, fries are pitiful but the SALAD... Amazing. Don't buy a drink here or be sure to ask for no Ice. Cups are filled to the brim with ice and no refills. They were out of ice cream. One double cheeseburger took a long time to get and wasn't that good. Bun was OK, fried onions were OK, pickle is OK but the meat tasted weird. Had an old cow smell and taste to it, kind of like rancid tallow. I also had small chunks of grizzle ground up in it. Not worth even the small price it cost. We have better options for Smashburger's in town. read more

Mediocre instagram hype. It's not that great. Took nearly 30min, and they were not really busy at 11:10am. Fries were overcooked and cold, obviously re-dipped. Third window does a better job. I'll give it another shot, but it won't be a regular place for me. read more

I got a small froyo which ended up being HUGE. I was shocked with their serving size because it was so much for only $9. Anywhere else this would probably be $20 lol. With the small you can get four flavors so i got horchata, peanut butter, honey vanilla, and graham cracker. All of the flavors were so yummy, not to sweet, and creamy as could be. He is a fan of McConnell's and wanted to grab some ice cream after our dinner. This location only has 3 parking spots plus 1 handicap spot. Thankfully we found parking on the street and there was a line of people waiting to get in. Once inside, Christie was the girl who helped us and she couldn't have been more pleasant and kind. She was very upbeat, energetic and did not rush us at all as we tried to make our decisions. She was more than happy to give us as many samples as we wanted. Since this location had frozen yogurt and the one by our home doesn't, my son decided to go for that. He got Horchata, Greek Yogurt, and Peanut Butter flavors in one cup. For his toppings he got rainbow sprinkles and chocolate chips. I had a few spoonfuls of it and it was DELICIOUS! Great texture, super smooth and decadent, while still being light. The portion was huge and enough to share. The place was very clean and they have a small outdoor seating area. Sweet ending to a sweet day!

My friends got the Eureka Lemon & Marionberries, Churros Con Leche, and Santa Barbara Strawberry flavors and LOVED them. And the area around is super pretty to just watch cars go by, and sitting outside waiting is torture because it just smells so good.
