My spot, the spot, the people are awesome, & the food is delicious! It's been almost a year since I discovered this hidden local Hamden gem and listen... stop playing with them and show some love. Support local, always. I've been sitting on this review because I lowkey don't want people to overdo it and ruin the vibe--but my Instagram stays in the know since I've posted them plenty of times already. They're just that good. It's a nice, quaint spot with real heart, plus they've got a food truck they take out and about, and they cater too. Straight out of South Carolina, bringing authentic Southern BBQ, lowcountry blends, and somehow mixing it perfectly with that New England swagger. I became a regular fast. Any chance I get, I'm bringing new people here....and I'm not stopping anytime soon, which should tell you everything. They've got some crazy staples too: $10 classic burger with fries on Tuesdays, $1 smoked wing Wednesdays... Yeah, you read that right. And that's just off the top of my head. They also run daily specials that rotate, so either keep an eye on their IG or just pull up and see what they've got cooking that day. The Wright Way's Yelp profile stood out when I did a Hamden area search earlier this year. Burgers. Wings. A High Overall Rating. All things I love. I recently found time to visit. Wright Way is small and more functional than nice, but there is some cool branding and the place has a very friendly vibe. I'm the only person who dined in, but while I was there, there were a number of people there for takeout orders. The Wright Team was very kind and accommodating while I there. I ordered a Fungi Burger, which was a double beef smash burger, grilled onions, sautéed shrooms, garlic sauce and Swiss Cheese on a standard bun. The smash burgers were not cooked to the point of char. For a double smash burger, it didn't look particularly big, but each of the components was very good. And the burger was better than the sum of its parts. The fries were good too. I also ordered a Small Wings, with dry rub and BBQ Sauce, and Alabama Sauce (a white sauce) on the side. We must have had a misunderstanding about the sauces, because they came with dry rub and all sauces on the side. Not a big deal. I sauced the wings at the table. The wings are smoked, but there wasn't a strong smoke flavor. They had the texture of smoked wings, but the outer texture was still good too. The meat wasn't dry at all. The Wright Way was nice enough to accommodate all my crazy sauce requests. Blue Cheese or Ranch. I tried both, and I'm going to tell you that a side of Alabama White Sauce is the way to go. A nice bit of horseradish. Very flavorful. I can definitely see returning even though I don't live in the area. If you live nearby, you should definitely visit and start exploring the Burgers, Sandwiches, Wings, Breakfast Sandwiches, etc. 4.5 Stars read more

Saw them on social media and happened to be in the area so I decided to stop in and give them a try. Ordered a breakfast sandwich for dinner and some wings...yeah why not it was wing day Wednesday when wings are $1.00 each. Ordered the hot honey, Buffalo and I asked for a surprise order of wings. Yes sandwich was delicious it seems like the hash brown set it over the top yummy. The wings were really good, the hot honey was perfect and the Buffalo ones really hit the spot. I think they had like 10 varieties of sauces for the wings. Worth a try and really nice friendly service. My take out order was ready in no time. Came for the bbq. Not available on the first day, so I got a smashburger and fries, delicious burger, great fries. Came back a few days later, but found out bbq not available until late afternoon, so had pulled pork sandwich, which was delicious as well. Definitely coming back when schedule jibes to try the bbq. Super-fast, super-nice service, only 4 or five tables, but no wait at all the times I went around lunch, most people getting take-out. read more

OMG!!!! The absolute best!!!! I had a Friendsgiving yesterday and decided to do something out of the norm. i ordered a whole meal, which consisted of ribs, collard greens, creole salad, mac and cheese and corn bread. it was probably one of the best ideas everrrrr. The food was beyond amazing, the portions were huge, the price was great and the owner and his staff superb. Came here for lunch with a friend, and we quickly started accumulating a list of things we "must try" from the menu. We ended up ordering a burger (Cowboy Burger), the house Reuben, some beans and coleslaw, some wings, and the loaded sweet potato tots. Everything was amazing but the tots are especially dangerous (served with fried chicken bits, cheddar, and hot honey). The house made pastrami is completely on-point and the smashburger patties have a great crust. All sides were huge, definitely high quality.value for money. Service staff were friendly, attentive, and appear to be enjoying their jobs. Saw the full breakfast menu too, there's a lot here to love. We'll definitely be back. read more
