First time here tonight and will DEFINITELY be back soon. GREAT ambiance and FANTASTIC back yard comfort food. We had the margarita flat bread to start. The mozzarella cheese was delish. Very yummy! Next we had the Fried Chicken (Honey Hot Sauce) with fries. It's not very hot so don't let that scare you because OMG it is amazing. So crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fries are hand cut and very good. PRO TIP: ask for the homemade ranch on the side and dip EVERYTHING into it. You're welcome. We were full but had to try the sweet potato tots. Also delish, with the homemade ranch of course. The ambiance is so fun. Very relaxed and chill like your in you rich friends huge back yard. There are lots of outdoor and oversized games to choose from: Jenna, foosball, ping pong, cornhole, ladder ball, and the best tire swing ever. It's the perfect place to take the kids during the day or night out with the friends. Can't wait to go back and try more food. This place is a go to spot for families. It's got a pretty cool outdoor set up with games like corn hole in the center some high tops and low tops, pergolas, and AstroTurf. The adults have access to full bar while their children play. It's amusing to see. They also have a full menu of American style bar food from hamburgers to flatbreads. The service was good once somebody noticed we were there. Which took a long time, (they are usually pretty busy.) So we had some drinks, which were yummy and proceeded to order from the menu. The food is over priced for what it is. I ordered the loaded fries which included brisket. They tasted alright but were a disappointment. The brisket looked like tiny chunks of diced ham. The fries weren't very fresh. My husband had a flat bread which was also just okay. This place isn't for you if you're a foodie but ok if you just want drinking munchies, don't have high standards, and don't mind the prices. The waiter was attentive and kind. So when we ordered our food they were out of vegetables, potato salad.. there is a store just across the street.. I know there new but NO EXCUSE to be out of anything ! I would give higher because of the nice atmosphere but the food was just not that good and the prices are a little high. Don't mind paying a little more if the food is really good. Sadly the food was underwhelming. Now the set up is nice. Outdoor dining and live music. If they can fix the food this will be a good stop. I had the shrimp appetizer and I guess they were supposed to be like bang bang. They looked like they came straight from a Gorton's box. The salad was okay. Went here on a Saturday night. Was not seen by a server for almost 20 min. We were a bit confused since there seemed to be servers ordering at the bar but everyone ignored us. The few girl servers were gossiping behind the bar with the bartender all night while we waited on someone to take our order. There was only one server taking care of maybe 7+ tables outside, named Todd. We were brought our drinks and one of the drinks tasted like it had no alcohol in it, although we paid $15 for it. They don't put the drink prices on the menu, they're expensive for what you actually get. We were definitely under poured. Todd ensured that their French fries are to die for after explaining that they were out of the other sides. After almost 30 min of waiting for our food, it comes out and my boyfriends chicken & toast was visibly burnt and black. $17 for burnt toast slices and a whole burnt breast. The fries were lukewarm and a little soggy. My pork & pineapple tacos were actually cold to the touch. When we said something about it, Todd asked if he could have it reheated. I didn't want to wait another 15 min when I could just go home and airfry them in 5 min so we rejected the offer. He ended up discounting our meal. Although it was a Saturday night downtown, this place seems to be more for kids to run around like it's a playground. The music is very loud and the kids basically take over any games in the courtyard. We wanted to play the giant connect 4 but the kids were on it for the 40 min we were there. First time here and probably won't be back since there's so many better options down the street. Maybe this place is a better option for brunch instead of dinner. Two stars because Todd was very nice and explained why my tacos were cold (because they ran out of taco tortillas, tried to make something else work while the meat sat and got cold, then found the correct taco tortillas, and sent it out cold). read more

Nice layout being outside, but the service is soooo slow. And they told us 20 mins later that they didn't have something I ordered. Ends up our order got all messed up and we ended up leaving. They gave us the wrong order to go. So all in all. The waitresses are nice, the kitchen sh*t the bed. It happens. Not sure if we will be back as it's kinda out of the way. Overall, a dreadful experience. Let's start with the positives: The restaurant is outdoors and everything is new. New tables, chairs, bathrooms, etc. I like the artificial turf since it keeps away the ants and is nice and safe to fall on if the little ones take a tumble. There is a tire swing and corn hole sets for the kids to play with. The tree the tire swing is on is great for running around. I started with an IPA on tap and the wife had a cocktail. The cocktail was good, but watered down. The food itself was OK. I had the Yardery burger, which was good except for two issues: It was cold and oily. My wife had the fish tacos and she said they were great. I noticed that there wasn't much fish. My kids wanted to try the chicken tenders, but they were out. They were also out of the chicken wing appetizers, and cornbread. The kids settled on a pulled pork sandwich that we asked to have everything on the side so that the kids could eat the pork by itself and the bread by itself, etc. When we received the food, the burger and fish tacos came out, but the pulled pork sandwich turned into pulled pork tacos. We sent this back and when it returned, we received the pulled pork sandwich as a whole, instead of everything on the side. This also was sent back. Finally, our kids received their meal long after the wife and I finished our food. There were opportunities for the server to smooth things over for the kitchen mistakes, but this didn't happen. My wife reported that the women's bathroom had issues. One of the stall doors did not latch securely and that toilet paper had ran out. In closing, we did not have a good experience. It's a shame because I think the location and environment is nice and relaxing. read more

Great outdoor space that is family friendly. Kids burger was great. Beers and food were good but also also fairly expensive (would be great if they have happy hour now - fingers crossed). We easily spent $80 for a few beers, kids meal and entree. And speaking of family friendly (which I love), it really became a bit overrun by families when we were there and kids were running everywhere, walking in the middle of yard games being played, picking up game pieces while we were playing. We had fun until that point but then couldn't finish our drinks fast enough to leave. Service is lacking but i don't blame the staff, they are always pleasant and accommodating, I partially feel they may be understaffed at times causing delays because that place gets packed with families with kids. Great concept but failing on food and price. Fish tacos were three 3" long chunks of frozen cod, four leaves of cilantro and a squirt of mayo based sauce. The namesake burger, two dried out patties with other dried out stuff on top. Fries, cold. Wont even get into the "pulled pork" sandwich or kids chicken fingers. Even the plastic takeout cups of ketchup were only 1/3 full. Very little effort put in and zero love. Draft beers in a plastic cup, $7.50. Only reasonable item was a can of Miller Lite for $5. What a shame. So much potential thus the 2 stars. If the place fixed their food and prices it'd kill. read more

So I love the historic downtown section of Sanford, and I often drive there over 30 minutes just to dine at one of the interesting locally owned restaurants. Well the Yardery (Slightly off the beaten path but not by much) certainly did not disappoint me. It is a very cool little eatery with amazing food, a very nice bar, great service and a really cool outdoor space to dine in. Today the weather could not have been more perfect, and I decided on the burger. I had the garlic aïoli on the side, and I'm glad I did because not only could I dip my burger in it, but I also dipped my fries in it which were amazing. Speaking of fries, they were probably the best fries I've had in a long time, hand cut and perfectly cooked. It is not often that I actually eat fries (carbs) So when I do eat them I want them to be worth it.... And indeed they were. Several other things on the menu looked really good, So I definitely intend on returning and trying some different things as well as having a few beers. Megan was my server today and she was amazing. As soon as the waitress came over, before I could even order a drink or appetizer I was asked to produce a credit card to keep on file! I have NEVER been asked to do this at any restaurant. This set the tone of the whole experience. I have eaten at many many restaurants in Florida and in many countries that I have visited and I can honestly say this was the first time this has happened to me. When I asked the manager about this practice he stated that "this is common practice in the downtown Sanford area." We have talked to many people who eat regularly in downtown Sanford and they said they have not been asked to put a credit card on file prior to eating at the local eateries. My husband even made some phone calls to restaurants in Sanford and not one place said they did this. Anyway, I was really hoping to make this my regular eating spot as I am all about supporting local businesses but I will not return. I don't like being made to feel if I am going to "dine and dash". I hope they stop this practice as I am sure I am not the only one who feel offended by this! Plus the Front Porch Lemonade was distasteful and way over priced! read more

Food took wayyyy too long. My whole party had to wait 40 minutes after they were done eating just for me to finally get my salmon. I will say that they were apologetic and offered a dessert on them. Food and service are both hit or miss. Wings came out literally raw. Had to send them back, they came out charred. And they still tried to charge full price, but they ended up charging half. Should have been free at that point. read more
