I think this might be our favorite restaurant in WNY. It is just a perfect "go to" spot on our own, to meet friends, or to take guests. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was in there recently with a person who uses a walker and staff were moving chairs, asking others guests to step aside, offering us an alternate entrance to make for a shorter walk, and just doing everything they could to accommodate us. The wait staff are also welcoming and ready to make suggestions or recommendations. That level of customer service has become so rare these days, kudos to the management that has made it a priority here. The menu is huge so it is easy for anyone to find something that appeals. We have never had a bad meal at YG and have been there many times. The pizza is amazing and it is always hard to resist it and get anything else. The wings are great too. Other favorites include the salmon and the short ribs. They also always have good soup. The bar is great and a good place to hangout if you have to wait for a table. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. My only issue with this place is that it gets so loud when it is busy (and it always seems to be busy!) that it is hard to carry on a conversation if you are in the middle of the dining room. Have been here several times. Pretty big menu and we tried several different items and always been satisfied. They always have a stellar beer list which changes with the seasons. Went for the first time on Sunday. We were a rather large party - 6 of us. The service was ok. What was very disappointing was the dinner. While the kitchen did ok with the burgers that were ordered, they fell very short on the chicken. I am not saying it was raw but it was not fully cooked either. Definite pink in the middle. Even sending it back to the kitchen for more cooking time did not help. The speaker (overhead) was exceedingly loud. They did give you alot of food though. We went here on a very busy restaurant night in the area and this was the restaurant with the least wait time. We hadn't been here since they rebuilt after the fire and was pleased with the rebuild. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a very large and loud party which did make talking very difficult. The food that we tried was good and they have original items on the menu, with an expanded seasoning choice. They did disappoint with not having certain beers available from the bar. We visited the Yelling Goat last night for the first time and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. I ordered a calzone and, while it tasted good, it was a bit overcooked (very crispy)! My husband ordered a corn beef sandwich that was supposed to be "piled high" with meat, there were two slices of corn beef on a very small sandwich. The server was super nice and efficient, but it took a while for the food to come out. Not too sure we'll go back, although I would love to try the grilled cheese sandwich!! read more

I'm sooooo glad we chose Yelling Goat as our first restaurant to go to after the second shut down of in house dining!!! I started with a deep eddy cosmo...yum! My girlfriend had a generous pour of moscato. The lunch was delicious!!! I had the duck goat cheese salad, so perfectly dressed and plenty of toppings. Warm breaded goat cheese was the focal point, and the duck was tender and not fatty. The ratio of arugula to toppings was on point! My girlfriend had chicken fingers with a side of "liquid gold" dressing which reminded me of a riviera. MacKenzie was our server, she was efficient & pleasant. The berbere wings are phenomenal! Dry rubbed spicy and crisp with the honey yogurt dipping sauce!!! I just went and I'm ready for my next trip! The entrees are well executed, fresh and plentiful. Served with sides and fresh bread with olive oil balsamic for dipping. Hands down, one of my absolute favorite fish fry's in Buffalo!! Everything is made from scratch like their macaroni salad, which is phenomenal, as well as their bread and dipping oil. We have also tried their chicken fingers, pizza, calzone's, and burgers, all of which were amazing!! So glad the Goat reopened after the fire. Interior has been nicely redone. I've have been back a few times since and I guess you can't keep a good Goat down. As always the Corned Beef is delish. I came here with a friend two nights ago. He ordered a single order of wings, as did I. I ordered the B, B, and B wings. (Barbecue, Barbere, and Bourbon--I think.) I liked them but them were a bit too spicy for me. Next time I'll get the B & B or the lemon wings. The wings were huge. They sauced them well. I think they're my favorite wings in all of WNY. My friend ordered the Southwest wings. They had barbecue sauce and some heat. The waitress was really nice. I wished she would've came back a bit more frequently but it's okay. It's probably tough being a server in the time of COVID. I think she did a great job. What's weird is to view their beer menu, you have to go on Untappd.com. I think many restaurants use that app (or website) to list their beers because taps are constantly changing. Yelling Goat changes theirs daily. I prefer stouts and porters. I had the Gunner's Daughter Stout when I sat down. It smelled smoky and tasted great. That stout was served in a Rusty Rail brewing company glass that had awesome verbiage on it. While eating I had the Baby Bob stout. It was awesome. I think I preferred it a bit more than the Gunner's Daughter Stout. I hadn't been to the Yelling Goat since their fire that was a couple years ago. Prior to the fire I had been there three times. One of those time was for my birthday dinner. I always love to see what clever message they have on their sign out front. Plenty of parking. Plenty of options to sit: inside tables, bar seating and outside street seating when weather permits. I have been here a couple times and it seems like the food is real hit and miss. The online drink menu is not always correct and overall the drinks on hand have become more limited since the pandemic. They have a very intriguing menu and seemed to be a solid option for a fish fry. The food experience on this occassion was a real disappointment. We ordered: *Bavarian pretzels. We've had these in the past and they were a pretty solid app. On this occassion, the beer cheese was broken--chunky/gritty and the honey mustard was real heavy on the honey side. The beer cheese was not enjoyable to eat but the honey mustard was edible. Pretzels seemed over cooked on the outside yet slightly undercooked on the inside? *I ordered the half fish fry. He ordered the whole fish fry. Portion wise it was basically the same amount of fish. He had a small extra piece attached to his fish but it was completely overcooked batter. No fish? Both fish were overfried. --The Mac salad was the star of the plate. Delicious. The coleslaw was interesting looking with mostly purple cabbage but was flavorless. --The fries were not fresh from the fryer. Cold-ish and not crispy. -- the rye bread crust was so hard (stale?) And the tarter sauce was not appetizing, tasted off. Overall not a restaurant I plan to return to anytime soon. Sadly, this meal has left me with a stomach ache. read more

Noone came to our table for more than 25 minutes after we were seated. A server noticed another table being ignored and offered them service. I walked up to him and stated we also were not being waited on. A server came about 5 minutes later and we gave her our drink order and food order. By the time the food arrived, it was so dark on the patio you couldn t see your plate..apparently the light bulb is blown out and it hasnt been replaced. Went there for a business lunch. I liked the look and atmosphere. The menu didn't contain anything special just American pub food. I ordered the Tipsy Turkey. It sound good but they used luncheon meat instead of a piece of roasted turkey. My friend had then chicken guacamole salad. It looked good and he said it tasted ok. This could be so much more if they tweaked a few items to make their menu stand out I also thought the prices were ridiculous. A calzone was over $20. That really shouldn't be more than $12. We used to go here all the time. Then I think they handed it over to their son and girlfriend. All you do it wait for someone to serve you and when you say anything the owners are rude. I wondered in here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty crowded, a good sign, and the owner immediate noticed my helmet and we struck up a conversation about my motorcycle adventure trip. She bought me a beer and ordered for me and some time later , the bar tender brought me the best chicken wings I've ever had. The best chicken wings I've ever had! They were very crisp and dry rubbed with some mystery spice. They were fantastic. I also got a roast beef sandwich which was good and I had a couple of bites after eating all the wings. The people beside me at the bar had a roast beef looking roll which looked great and then another patron had a lettuce boat dish that I would love to try. Anytime I go to a new restaurant, I need to see if pizza is part of their menu. I didn't this time and rarely is the overall experience good as it often means have a large menu with some good and some not so good items. This would be the case here. If there is a Reuben, then that is what I have as it is simple to make a great one and easy to mess up too. The pickle sets the pace for me and it was flat and mushy. Not a good start. The sandwich was only OK and my son had the same thing and was not impressed at all as his had a lot of fat in the meat, literally. The Thousand Island dressing may have been homemade, white, bland, no flavor. I don't remember any sauerkraut either. I would rate the Reuben a 2. Overall I was not impressed with my meal. Others in our group were so so on their meal, one liked the lamb a lot. Service was very good and very attentive waitress. With all the restaurants to choose from, I don't see a need to make a return visit. A smaller menu done right for me is better than a large menu with hits and misses. read more

Wow. We came here on a whim after a visit to the nearby dog park because they offered dog-friendly seating. And boy- we're they friendly! The hostess happily brought out two large bowls of ice water for our pups. Our server, Tyler, was kind, helpful and extremely attentive. The food was OUTSTANDING! We each had a cocktail- delicious. I had the short rib sandwich- on in-house made bread. I ate the whole thing. My sister had the Mac and cheese with pork belly-- Also top notch. Then another server and the cook came out to meet the doggies and offer other treats. We got to hear the history of the restaurant while they were spoiling the doggies. My sister and I took my father to the Yelling Goat on Father's Day last Sunday. We had reservations at 5 o'clock as we preferred to beat the large crowds on a busy restaurant holiday. I had not been to this place since it last was a smaller divey kind of bar. The renovations were quite amazing and I was pleasingly surprised. There is a good-sized parking lot next-door with two different areas to park. They have a nice size patio but, we opted to eat inside. Our waitress was very friendly and informative of the specials. They have a nice selection of different craft beers and all the regular beers as well. Our waitress brought over our drinks and some nice warm bread with olive oil. Both my sister and myself ordered the duck breast salad while my father had the breast duck dinner. The place certainly filled up nicely and I was glad we were a little early. The duck salads were delicious! Arugula with sugar walnuts, mangoes, and a nice ball of warm goat cheese in the center. Dad's deck looked delicious as well. Served with mashed potatoes and he chose a side of sautéed mushrooms that were savory and earthy at the same time. The menu here is a little adventuresome at times which is nice. They also have a claim to some of the best corned beef around. My father said it is very good. He was very pleased with his duck though. I'll definitely go back for some of the artisan pizzas or the corned beef. You could tell they were a good handful of regulars there which is also a good sign.
