The Poked Yolk is a lovely little breakfast and lunch boutique restaurant in the West End of East Aurora. It's a very small restaurant, and it fills up very quickly. Today, we came in after the big breakfast rush, so there was plenty of comfortable seating throughout the restaurant. They have a specials menu that changes with the month. Everything on the menu is innovative, and an upgrade from whatever ordinary breakfast you're used to. Our waitress served up fresh hot mugs of coffee for us, and explained that their loyalty program was moving to a Phone app. Unfortunately, we would not be able to use our Wallet card which had three punches on it already. Today I ordered a Cali chicken club wrap, which was a very delicious mix, chopped chicken breast, romaine, wedges of avocado, and bacon with a nice ranch dressing, all in a soft tortilla wrap. For my side, I chose coleslaw. My food is so delicious, no complaints here. My handsome dining companion got the Pork Belly Hash with sweet potato tots, and two eggs OE and toast. I did sneak my fork across the table to grab a chunk of pork belly which made my eyes roll back into my head. My next bite was one of the deep fried sweet potato tots. Very delicious, but I can't make a habit out of anything deep fried anymore. All of this deliciousness came our way for under 40 bucks. Thankfully, we had a nice Christmas gift certificate from one of the grandkids. We do highly recommend any of the Poked Yolk locations. read more

This place had very good food I had the French toast that was very good. The other people in my party said they had good food. Lots of options for Vegetarian. The service was good we got a table fast. The ambiance was good there was lots of couples and family's have lots of fun in a good morning with great sunlight. read more

Reade online and yelp saying it was dog friendly, but once we got there they said ONLY service dog. So we ended up getting it to go and ate in the car. That's literally our whole trip for the next couple of days Yolked Burger 12.99 8 ounce patty, seasoned and served pink or no pink, on a grilled gluten-free Costanzo roll, with pickles, lettuce, tomato & onion fried egg, bacon, American cheese with home fries on the side. Super messy specially eating outside. My fiance loved his burger. Crab Cake Benny 13.99 Maryland crab cakes topped with poached eggs, Canadian ham and hollandaise sauce, served with seasoned homefries. Couldn't taste that much of the crab cakes, but the hollandaise sauce was delicious Chorizo Hash a la carte $6.49 just wanted that as a side but end up getting it as a meal. It was good, but it was a bit too much The food was delicious plus they also have gluten free options which it was a PLUS BUT THE DOWNSIDE about it was the misleading saying it's dog friendly when they could easily wrote only service dogs. read more

Great little diner that we've been going to since they opened on Transit and we were ECSTATIC when they opened a location in EA. Specials are always fantastic, fries are among the best around, and they have my favorite Cuban in Buffalo. Parking to dine in is always a chore, same as their other locations, but totally worth it, especially if the cinnamon roll pancakes are on special. Great prices for the portions. We met there yesterday around 11am. This was my first time at this location. Very friendly and attentive staff. Got seated immediately even though our whole party was not there. Got coffee right away and as everyone trickled in they were immediately served coffee. I was torn between the create your own omelet and crab cake Benedict. I did the create your own omelet, I chose Canadian bacon, roasted red peppers, onion and jack cheese. It came with toast and home fries. One of my friends did get the crab cake Benedict it looked good and she said it was, that will be my next item to try there. Relaxing atmosphere but it was chilly when they would serve or seat someone in the covered & heated outdoor area. read more

We scrambled to get here on a Saturday afternoon, happily sliding into a small table by the door. The place is quaint without feeling claustrophobic, though I did worry that my elbow would send my complimentary iced water off the table before I even finished surveying the menu. Or worse, his heavily creamed ice coffee that he nearly downed in one go, savoring the vanilla aftertaste. I was torn between a few things, though considering I've been going through egg withdrawals I went for a veggie omelet. Besides, eggs are in the name, so it has to be good, right? My mate went for the Jose Benedict and added on a side of chorizo hash. No, you can't sub it for your regular hash, even for an upcharge, like the extra half buck I paid for tomato slices. We took turns in the bathroom (conveniently by the door) taking in the cute breakfast decor and background ambiance of low music and happy diners conversing. Wasn't eavesdropping, but the look on the kiddo's face next to us when she received a waffle as big as her head spoke all of her excitement for her. When our dishes came out, I'm pretty sure I had the same look. The plating was top notch, and as I picked up a fork, and my sole napkin, I hoped that looks wouldn't be deceiving. Tomatoes are a finicky thing with me, and I'm happy to say that the thin wide slices were fresh and delicious when dashed with a spot of pepper from the shaker. Their quality carried over into the omelet itself, as did the rest of the veg. The onion and spinach weren't overly wet or wilted, and the mushroom was well integrated so that each bite gave you a bit of each flavor. Just be sure to add a dash of salt first. I skipped out on the cheese as I didn't want to get completely weighted down, and yet still I felt pudged out by the end of my meal. That's probably due to the fact that I also downed my four squares of rye toast, visibly buttered. Had I thought ahead, I would have asked for them plain and taken the waitress up on her offer for the jam of the day, raspberry pineapple. My mate started with Jose. His standard English muffins soaked up the tomato juice, and the egg wasn't overly runny, which allowed the thick, mildly spiced green sauce to flow without making a soggy mess of the plate. The menu offers to poke your yolks, yet he did himself over the super crispy chorizo. He wished he could say the same for his chorizo hash. The potatoes were off the wall good, with a chew instead of mushing at touch. The pepper and onion was a nice touch, but for some reason the meat was less desirably crisped in the dish. We were going to pay at the counter once the line died (and snag a candy for later) though the waitress offered to take our card at the table. She even offered a to go box and a loyalty card, where for every 10 meals, you get the next one free. Pretty eggscellent deal, and a pretty eggsceptional place. read more

Had breakfast this morning and chose this place based on name. Very cute. I had a veggie omelette with raisin toast and sliced tomatoes. Husband had a ham and cheese with home fries and sausage, Both were fresh made with real eggs. Both were very very good and well above average. Coffee was light roast and very good. No bitter taste at all. Service was ok. Not great but not bad. Ambiance was cozy and warm. Takeaway is I would return. Win, win, win read more

We have been to the EA location twice now and both times it was great. The first time we decided to get waffles, the caramel banana ones were amazing! The second time I got the veggie omelet, my boyfriend doesn't remember what he had but he agrees that this is a nice place to get breakfast and have a good start to your day. read more

We met friends here this morning around brunch time since it was only 3 minutes down the road from the ice skating rink we were heading to next and I walked out already hoping for an excuse to go back soon. Adults and kids alike enjoyed everything! We had a relatively large group of 4 adults 3 kids and a baby and despite being totally full when we walked in they were able to get us a table with what felt like a reasonably short wait for a large group in their smaller establishment. All service was prompt and super friendly and our meals came out in great time. The menu choices were all tempting - my husband ordered their specialty "The Poked Yoke" and was NOT disappointed, I got the veggie hash which the kale and eggs were cooked to perfection in a yummy combo of other veggies (conveniently chopped to not have to cut down anything to eat) and the kids got combos of French toast and pancakes with sausage and bacon. Both my kids devoured most of their plates which were generous portions for kids, but clearly super tasty. My son's French toast looked and smelled so good I plan to return to try their gluten free version next time. I never know how the gf bread will be so I just got the gf toast with my meal this time and feel confident I'll enjoy French toast with it in the future. It seemed like it could've been a locally-made, fresh thick-cut gf bread but not sure! Nonetheless, for the awesome menu choices, quick and friendly service and amazing food for great value, (we spent an average of $15 per person INCLUDING tax, tip and extra sides ordered) I would consider this place a gem! read more
