Salmon on Heritage bun with chips. Hibiscus tea.

The inside has unique decor. Like a small wood cabin with tables on different levels inside. Walls with drawings and sayings of love and family life. The sandwiches served with fresh baked buns and meats. Have to order the heritage bun. Delicious. All the men servers were pleasant and attentive. The hibiscus tea was delicious.

You will come here for the food and stay for the ambience ! The food was just delicious - we shared a roast beef sandwich with chips and the fruit plate. We each enjoyed the Garden Salad with balsamic vinaigrette! I don't believe there is anything on this menu that is not so yummy ! The building is just wonderful in every nook and cranny of both the floors. Come inside on the bottom floor and enjoy the walk up that beautiful old staircase. Our waiter was Levi, but we spoke to several of the waiters. They were all so kind and we were amazed to learn there are The Yellow Deli across several states and countries. Don't miss this place in Oneonta ! It's more than worth the short drive off the interstate. #wewillbeback

I ordered the pastrami, with Swiss cheese, on sourdough. I recommend the tomato basil soup as well.

Put it this way... the food at Yellow Deli was very delicious, we ate it for lunch and dinner. We dined at the Oneonta location, which was quiet and clean. The service was great dining in, and they are open on certain days until 3am. Dine out, however, must be done in person at this location. Phone orders are not allowed. This was a bit of an inconvenience, and I waited 35 minutes for our complete order. Overall, I would return and dine in at the Yellow Deli in Oneonta. The carrot cake and cream cake with blueberry topping is a must!!!!

Best veggie burger I've ever had

Seriously the BEST food. Highly recommend the fruit plate and split a perfect sandwich with my guy. Great lunch. Also, the pina colada smoothie was perfection.

Turkey sandwich on heritage bread, meal also comes with chips. Also ordered a hibiscus tea to drink.

We recently stayed in Oneonta for Cooperstown and we came across this place. The sandwiches are incredible and the basil soup is so delicious and full filling. One thing I will say is there is NO SODA, but their teas are tasty and making you want more. The staff here is also very friendly and funny. It sounds too good to be true but this place is a definite must to try.

So fresh, delicious, healthy with friendly service. Yellow deli is so iconic and love coming here with my family ever since it opened in 2010. I've tried their location in Colorado and still think oneonta location is better. Love all the little details and the people make it feel like home away from home. A definite must eat while in oneonta.

We weren't informed…read morethat they had a different, much smaller menu with no provision to order from the normal menu. Three of the four meals were fine. Unfortunately my husband order the 10oz NY strip (an eye popping $28!) He thought he was playing it safe by ordering it medium. When the waitress brought his meal out she said she was waiting for him to cut into the steak to make sure it was to his order. Good thing because it was the rarest piece of meat we'd ever seen! Raw inside! She took the steak back and had them put it back on the grill (her words). Unfortunately when it came back out nearly 20 minutes later after the rest of us had already started, it was still barely medium rare! She offered to take it back and put it back on the grill (again!) but he was so frustrated he told her to leave it and he'd take it home and cook it himself. Sadly after cooking the next evening the majority of the meat was either fat or gristle so the 10oz steak ended up to be about 3oz of edible meat! We've been to other restaurants where an entree has been l poorly cooked, etc. and in each case the restaurant has always comped the meal. The salt in the wound was the waitress only offered to comp our dessert (just my husband and I!) Instead of rightfully comping the $28 meal they comped a $4 dessert. Our experience wasn't bad enough to keep us from going back but we'd definitely recommend to the restaurant that, if they're using a special menu they should've made sure to advertise that or let us know when we made reservations. Additionally, in an obvious screw up like this, always comp the meal!

When doing some recon through town I inquired to a local about where I could find the best wings and he immediately named this spot. This jogged my memory back to my college days and the fact it was similarly known at the time. as well as that it was just a little removed both physically and culturally from the college scene and more of a strictly locals place. I took said locals advice and stopped on over and before even entering the place I was very glad I did. My eyes lit up at the awesome converted old train depot setting from which it gets it name. Inside was a welcoming warmly lit interior centered around a handsome old bar which I sidled on up to. My stomach still quite full from my feast at Brooks House of BBQ that afternoon I just ordered my drink and a single order of wings in the house specialty "garbage sauce" an umami rich amaglamation of various sauces and they were nothing short of magnificent. Perfectly proportioned and flavorful crisp on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. A delicious reminder of how much better in general wings are upstate than back home in the City. I savored every bite. The meal was made all the more enjoyable by striking up an enjoyably meandering with a gregarious Vietnam vet proud grandpa seated beside me and were both well served and treated by the lovely bartender. Much of the other food I saw being brought out looked quite tasty as well but what really caught my eye was the super thick square cut pizza, which seemed to be on most every table. It seems to be a relative of both the nearby regional vartieties of the Old-Forge style pizza found across the PA border near Scranton, and the "Hot Pie" of the greater Binghamton/Tri-Cities area even closer afield. More than enough to spark some serious intrigue in a pizza freak like myself and a top priority for me to order when I hopefully get another chance to visit here, of course alongside another order of those incredible wings.

The mom was the chef who made wonderful, homemade food like you'd expect from your grandma. Their son was helping out in kitchen. We met and chatted with them all. The food - yummy!! Local, fresh and made with love. I had meatloaf sandwich. Great taste. My fave was my son's BBQ pulled pork which was smoked for 12 hours behind the restaurant. The side of mac and cheese out of this world I had potato wedges topped with cheese, bacon and scallions. So good. Best part - I had rented a hotel that was 45 Min from Cooperstown. Oops. The dad and two other locals eating at bar helped me tremendously in finding new lodging. They gave me Many options. Turns out I rented a beautiful house on the owners' property up a small Hill. Food 3/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 4/5 I went into Sloan's as part of a business trip - and I certainly wanted to splurge with my plus one. The atmosphere looked promising - rustic, simple - all the signs of a good, comforting restaurant. I took one look at the menu and something truly stood out - a 3 pound tomahawk steak. Perfect for sharing with a friend or two! When the steak came out, I was in shock. I have never seen that much meat on a single platter, let alone a single tomahawk - it was truly a big steak. The steak itself was done nicely - I have no complaints. It's meat, grilled - and to the doneness I expected. My problem was the sides, which honestly could have been a bit better. The potato didn't really come with much more than a slice of melted cheese and bacon (would have liked chives or sour cream, or even a noticeable amount of butter), and the onion rings were fairly lackluster. The "seasonal vegetables" that came with the steak were also a very modest portion of... carrots. Just carrots with a sweet glaze. Not necessarily bad carrots (maybe slightly underdone), but I expected... at least one other vegetable. I think some more variety to the veggies (plus just more to eat alongside this monstrous steak) would have made this much more of an enjoyable experience. I definitely walked out that night feeling full, but not truly satisfied. My partner-in-crime and I did finish almost the entire steak, after all. Next time, maybe I order less - but I'm still going to be wary of the overall quality of the food coming out of the kitchen.
