First time back after a 6+month hiatus. Some friends highly recommended the Cranberry cashew salad and the cup of chili so I had to try them. I wasn't expecting to be amazed by the salad because.. Well, it's just a salad, right? The salad is delivered and it looks beautiful. With a generous helping of creamy cheese chunks, craisons, fresh greens and veggies, and a side of balsamic vinaigrette, the star was really the Cranberry Walnut bread that came with it. It looks simple, but it tastes spectacular. After the large salad, I'm feeling pretty full but I had to eat the cup of chili. The chili is full of tomatoes, spices, meat, and topped off with cheese which makes it delicious in its own right. The sour dough bread that came with the chili is the best sour dough I've ever tasted (it's like comparing a dish cloth to a Turkish cotton towel. Seriously though.. LOVED the treehouse feel, the dumbwaiter, and the gorgeous tables. I also really enjoyed the drinks - as it was my first time I got a sample of the three matés, and ordered a peach one to take with me after the meal. The food was good, but did not blow me away. I got a sandwich, which was on a wheat roll but very soft, like it had been steamed. I wasn't a huge fan. However their salads looked really interesting.. I may give them a try next time. This was by far the cutest,cleanest, and friendliest deli I have ever been to. The customer service was excellent; they were extremely helpful and kind. I ordered the Reuben, and it was delicious, yet not overwhelming. This place is a lot larger then it seems; downstairs they have much more seating and a place to order teas. The man working the register kindly let us sample the mango matés, which are so refreshing. They also sell soap, which is $5 and smells amazing. I would give this place an 11/10! read more

Stopped in because it was the only place open late night on a week night. We were greeted by the owner who brought us samples of the iced teas they have which were delicious. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich and the chili. Both were yummy and reasonably priced. The place itself is super cute inside and cozy. I will def be back next time I'm in Oneonta. read more

Amazing place, atmosphere, people, food. I've stayed with them for a few weeks aswell to observe and check out the 'cult' accusations which are completely false. I've stayed at not only this location but the one in Rutland, VT and both places were cozy, comforting, and welcoming. They put the upmost love and respect in the food and service all the time. These people live to serve not only their God but you too. Just because there are not many tight nit communities like this doesn't mean that any of them are cults especially this one. The staff can be slow but the experience is 100% worth it. Staff is friendly, down to earth, and spark very interesting conversation. The food is always fresh and the atmosphere makes it even better. Yellow Deli was the only stop of this trip that I did not Yelp first. We saw the sign, needed breakfast, and pulled in. It was a good decision. First things first, we ate downstairs and the vibe is Jerry Garcia meets Tolkien; you definitely feel like you're eating second breakfast while "expanding" your mind. If we'd had more time I would have asked about the story behind this place. I know it has to be a good one. I had the Breakfast Sandwich (with roast beef) and my financee ate the Spinwich. Delicious, fresh food. Kind, attentive service. Their sourdough bread is homemade and they grow a lot of their veggies and greens at their own farm. The servers are happy to chat and they even let our little kids try their hand at the dumb waiter. We had veggie burger which was incredible. Their homemade bread is perfection. This place is super rustic and cute. A little hobbit hideaway it made sense that everyone has beards and probably love crystals. The LIRR sandwich was spectacular even though I don't think they know what Buffalo Chicken really is it was more of the kind of Buffalo Chicken cold cut. Given the name Yellow Deli I don't really fault them here but being in NY I thought for sure it would have buffalo sauce. Nevertheless it was super yummy. They played loud mandolin old world music the entire time so it was a bit difficult to hear my own thoughts. The Peach Mate tea was a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect something as artisanal in this part of town but it was everything you'd want in a beverage in this environment. No free refills which is always a bummer for me but I loved it so much I still bought another round. My last suggestion or critique would be for them to switch to paper straws. Which such an earthy vibe (they sell natural soaps at the counter) they should be a little more aware of the impact straws have on the environment but I loved it all in all. It was transcendent in its aesthetics and that is all you can hope for along with a great meal when visiting a new quaint town. (As I left they gifted me a piece of pie! Adorable!) read more
