I got the crab/prawn plate. And the steak/prawn plate. 10/10 Back story. I was craving garlic noodles from Crustaceans. I needed to find some locally. I went to a handful of restaurants, but it wasn't giving Crusteations. The ChillFactory came up in my Yelp search. Now, they do not taste like Crusteations. Totally worth checking out this food truck!! Deserves the hype! TIP: Always check out their IG for opening status & menu updates! I had been meaning to check out this food truck for a while and made it out on a Friday afternoon. The current spot in front of Planet Fitness isn't conducive for sitting/waiting. I ordered the garlic crab and prawns over garlic noodles. So tasty!! Super flavorful and unique, but on the salty side. Loved the prawns and the portion size. My food was served hot and fresh. It took about 15 minutes to be prepared. I ordered the cheesesteak and garlic prawns over garlic noodles. The prawns were basic. The cheesesteak was delicious. The garlic noodles were a bit sweet but still tasty. My wife felt the food was too salty. I agree but the saltiness didn't overwhelm the dish. All in all, this is a food truck I will patronize any day of the week. I hope to try a few more of his recipes. He gives a generous amount of food. My plate was enough to serve two people. It's a food truck so there wasn't seating, but it's exactly what I expected. Chef is friendly and gave generous portions. Asked him what he would recommend and it sounds like everything is fuego. Im defiantly coming back and recommend you try this food truck. Food was a bit salty for my pallet but not enough to deter me from coming again! I heard him one day and came out to get my daughter some ice cream but little did we know he was serving food as well ! That was 3 years ago !!! I've ordered from him plenty of times ! It's just him in his truck but he aims to give the best quality food out of his truck ! On this particular day ( 3 days ago ) I pulled up ( he usually is parked on 107th and Mac in Oakland from 12-5 ) I got the fried garlic Parmesan truffle prawns and garlic fries ! It's so flavorful and seasoned ! Grandma approved :) she always eats some of mines . And everything is made fresh to order ! I watched him but he also lets you know when ordering ! Fresh cut fries , everything battered and fried right there no frozen premade food ! His menu varies by day ! Garlic noodles with fried lobster tail , loaded baked potatoes ! The list goes on ! We've been trying to order from this truck for weeks, and have always failed - showing up too late, canceled because of rain, out of town, it just never seemed to work out, until today. We finally got some of the food that looked so good on Instagram, and I can now say that it was worth the wait. I had the truffle honey Korean ribs, my wife had the crab and prawns, both came with garlic noodles. It was all fantastic, I don't think I've ever had more delicious garlic noodles, and the honey really came through in the ribs, which were also great. FYI, the hours on Yelp are a lie; he's in Oakland Friday - Sunday, from 10:30am to sunset, or whenever he sells out, whichever comes first. Given that I got the last plate of ribs at around 5:30 and he was sold out of lemonade by then, get there early if you want a choice of the full menu. read more
