My original nail spot wasn't open so I had to try out another place. This one is located by the metreon & next to Mel's Diner. I'm not a fan of the nail shops with just couches/chairs esp when it comes to pedicures bc your feet just ends up in a big bowl & it doesn't give me the relaxing vibe.. BUT, the chair I sat on was very comfortable and the girl doing my pedicure made sure I was in comfortable positions for it. She cleaned & shaped my nails well. I'm on my feet for 12 hrs at work and I give huge shoutouts to nail spots who give heavy massages LOL. The girl doing my nail A+++++ felt nice, if you like light massages or rub downs maybe another person there. It was $60 for a gel pedicure which I find kinda pricey for what I pay elsewhere, but it looks good and felt great. read more

I think it's pretty crazy to charge a customer for removal after they cut me during the removal process. They cut me while shortening my nails and it was not just a little nip it was the entire underside of my nail. Not sure if you can tell from the photos but the cut was so hard that even the inside of my nail was a little bruised or bleeding too. She was super apologetic and did a great job otherwise so I still tipped 20 dollars (including the 10 from the deposit), but I thought it was pretty crazy to still be charged a removal fee after bleeding from the process. I expected some sort of compensation or at least completely waiving the removal fee. read more

Firstly, I love the employees here. They are so sweet and I just am obsessed with talking with them. I asked for a pedicure and manicure, as I often do. I got this gorgeous red color and the woman doing my nails did amazing on the star. Such a gorgeous place and very calming to be there. I go almost every month to get my nails done. This current set (The one in the photo) has lasted me 3+ weeks with no damage. read more

Made an appt a week before for a Thursday slot at 1:15. When I came in, they had a few people in seat but there were enough nail technicians to handle more customers if they were to drop in. The salon itself is very clean looking. Service was great! They are all so nice and welcoming. I got a mani pedi and only got gel nail polish on my fingers. They had a lot of nail color options and even do nail art! They do not have a foot spa, but they use a basin with warm water which felt nice. I love my gel nails! Honestly my photos do not do it justice! They look so much prettier in person. I was in and out in about 1 hour. It came out to $100 without tip. read more

Don't sell gift cards if you won't accept them. My parents got me a $100 gift card for Christmas (purchased 12/2024). I went to use it today (8/2025) and they told me it was too old, even though it was purchased less than a year ago. If they expire, make that clear on the gift card. And check Civil Code §1749.5. Gift cards sold after 2008 generally cannot expire. Not accepting gift cards you issued within the past year is sketchy business. read more

In town for a convention and made online Booksy appt for mani-pedi for $80. I have had innumerable mani/pedi and these women know what they are doing! Fantastic service and beautiful attention to detail. Loved my services. Small glitch at end of service was told it was $85 and when I told them online price it seemed like they were unaware of discrepancy, but honored my online price. read more

I don't get my nails done that often, maybe once every 6 months, to clean my cubicles really. Sometimes to feel and look pretty. I decided to find something close to my dinner location as I had time to kill. They were able to slip me in the day of, which I appreciate. I read some reviews that some ppl got hurt/cubicles cut but I decided to risk it bc it's a convenient location and maybe I won't get the rough person. Well, I did. She was super rough and when she hurt me, I asked if she could be gentlier. Instead of apologizing, she just said "oh you don't get your nails done often" like she had to go hard at it or something. Yes, I don't get my nails done often AND you're rough. Not everyone who does my nails hurt me. I had to show her that I'm legit bleeding (ironically, the middle finger) to emphasize what I meant but even then, no apologies. The pedicure was fine though, she was nice and quick. But I think if you plan to go get a manicure, go elsewhere as there are only 4 of them working the shop and looked like two focuses on pedicure and two focuses on manicure and so you got a 50/50 chance of getting the rough person who is rude. The place doesn't really look that sanitized either Website rates said that if you get a manicure with no color, it's cheaper. I didn't get color for both. But when I went to pay, the cashier, who doesnt even look old enough to drink, let alone know what good customer service is, awkwardly smile and told me that the website wasn't updated and that was that. No matching or anything. The whole experience was not great. I only gave them 2 stars bc the pedicure was fine. Otherwise, it'll be one. I would not go back and unless you got a lady there that's good to you, don't bother read more

I was in town for work and broke a nail moving my heavy suitcase! They were across the street from where I was staying thank god! And loved I was able to book online for the same day! Made an appointment for a gel manicure and they had a lot of availability for the same week. The appointment itself was great - Lina did a great job cleaning and shaping my nails and helped me pick the perfect colors for a glazed nail look. The salon itself is very cute and clean. Took away 2 stars due to the longevity and price of the manicure. After only a week, the top coat of my polish started to peel off (maybe because of the chrome powder layer, which cost $15 extra) and the polish close to my cuticles started to lift. They also charged $10 for gel removal, so my total was around $70 (plus tip). I really liked the service here, but not sure if I can justify the price. read more

We were visiting our daughter and this place was around the corner from our hotel. So happy we came here! The place was clean, comfortable and relaxing. I've been to plenty of nail salons and these technicians were by far the most meticulous. They really took their time and made sure our nails were perfect. I really wanted to like this place since it's a lot closer to the usual place I go to for my nails. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I had a poor experience with the service and will not be going back. My friend asked for some light pink recommendations and her nail lady picked one. After a couple coats in, my friend expressed how the color was so sheer that it didn't even look like she had nail polish on and the nail lady was super defensive and did not want to fix the color. My friend was being really flexible requesting they put a more opaque color on top so they don't have to redo the whole thing. Her nail lady ends up throwing a fit and leaving her to do another persons pedicure which I thought was extremely unprofessional-- to leave a job unfinished. In the midst of this all, the owner was condescending telling her "don't get mad because you don't understand how the color works" but refused to give her color recommendations that weren't sheer. The lady who did my friend's pedicure ended up finishing the job and was super sweet and checked to make sure she liked the new color. I wished they handled the situation differently without having to put my friend down. In addition to my friend's poor experience with the owner and her nail lady, I would say the quality of work on my fill was pretty poor. A few days later my nail cracked and started to separate from my real nail. I never had this issue going to my regular nail spot where I get frequent fills. It might have to do with the fact that they actually don't offer acrylic fills but use gel to do the fills. Not sure how my nail could possibly break since I didn't do anything strenuous being on vacation. read more

I went here to get dip powder nails done and it was an amazing experience! My nail technician was Sandy and she's the best! Everyone was friendly and provide the best care for their customers. Sandy was very gentle yet quick with my nails which I really appreciated. Up in San Francisco for business and my previous dip manicure kept chipping, I had to find a close place to my hotel to get my nails done, and found this place. So glad I did! I might even put off getting my nails done until I am up here again for work!! Joanna did my dip set, and she was a perfectionist in the best possible way. There was every attention to detail about the quality of the dip, cuticles, along with mail shape and length. I do have one natural nail that was broken when I came in. Joanna was able to keep it as long as possible to match the others without cutting the rest of my nails down too far. So happy!! The only that I didn't like was the seats. I prefer to have a table to rest my hands on or a big massage chair. Since this isn't reflective of the manicure, but more personal preference, still 5 stars from me! read more

I needed to fit in an emergency mani after breaking two nails at work. I have my usual salon by my house and a second one by work. However, I happened to notice this one also close to my work and thought I'd give them a try. While my technician was very nice, I am never returning. It comes down to the quality of the work, which I'm fine with paying more money for, but a damn shame when I'm paying $10 more (for a REGULAR mani, mind you) and it chips after three days. WTF. I usually get regular manis over gel and have even had some last over two weeks so I expect every job to last at least one week. Lastly, I had asked for an express when walking in. Stated again when I sat down with my technician. Was still charged for the regular (where is my massage then?) I was late so just paid and besides, my technician wasn't even there when I was paying so I could clarify. Never ever again. Go to Lotus on Maiden Lane a couple of blocks away for the same ambiance, lower pricing and MUCH better work. read more

Not the best I've ever had, but I can't complain for the price. The cut, massage and file portion was okay, but it was super rushed when it came to color. There are a lot of bumps and bubbles and edges that weren't clean. I thought that leaving it under the hot drier would help it but it didn't at all. The service was overall good and the girl that did my nails wasn't talkative (which was a good thing for me because I had a long day at work). The environment was nice besides it being a little awkward to be facing someone else who was getting their nails done right in front of me. After drying, I wasn't sure how long I was suppose to sit there (I don't get manicures often, obviously haha) so I ended up sitting there for about 30 min. Overall it took an hour from walk in, paint and dry. But if you were smart, unlike me, you could walk out in probably 20 minutes. Take off old mani and new mani = $22 Tip: $5 Total: $27 read more

Thi nails is a cute little salon off of Mission St that I pass almost every day. My 2 friends and I popped in on a Sunday afternoon to get gel manicures and immediately got seated. The ladies were amazing and professional and friendly and did SUCH a great job on my nails :) I got a gel set with a magnetic chrome color and it came out to 52$ which I felt was a steal. Not gonna lie, it was a pretty good distraction lol. Like any person would, I was pretty nervous but I decided to go for it because of the results. It was so worth it. It does hurt, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Your first wax always hurts the most because obviously you don't know what to expect, but it does get better after the first strip. I have to say though, what really helped ease my nerves was how chill the whole environment was. The staff makes every client feel welcome, and in my case Erin was super friendly, thorough, and overall such a vibe. It made the entire experience feel a lot less intimidating. They also have complimentary snacks and drinks and initially I passed on them because of how nervous I was, but after my session, best believe I ran to the snack station. However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

I have been to many nail salons and I have seen both good and bad nail artists. This is the only place where I saw people consistently showing the "I don't care" attitude. I had the most basic manicure but still they had a way to ruin it by first not cleaning up the original polish so that I look that I have mold on my thumb because the previous color was darker and then smearing the new polish on the edge of my finger so when I got back and tried to peel it off my skin a small part of the polish cane off. ----------------------- I would give this place a three star if this is the only complaint. But here is what happened to my friend. So we waited for our polish to dry up, and this is when she noticed that there was some "bubbles" on her polish because of the above mentioned hasty way in which they did their work. She asked, very kindly, for it to be fixed. One of the younger women ignored her request and very rudely asked her to add up the tip and the service fee. "Where is the total? I don't see it." I believe were more like her original words. Then she finally agreed to fix it and gestured that we took a seat and wait - without checking to see if there are any other nail artist that are available - while she continued her work of helping another client. So we waited for another five minutes and there was no sign that she was trying to pause what she was doing. We were in a hurry to see a movie (especially after the first half of hour that we spent waiting for the service to start despite our appointment). So my friend and I just decided to let it go. We stood up and said, I think we are good and we don't need the fix-up anymore. "Yeah I think it looks good." She replies happily. This is why I am writing this long review right now. Again as I have said I have seen many nail artists, good ones and bad ones, and one thing they have in common is that they all take their work seriously. Even with the less than good ones, I have met people trying to clean and re-apply the polish because they were not happy with the result. With the good ones, they will even sometimes help you to reach for your purse afterwards because they don't want their work get ruined. One thing to be clear - I am not looking for the "feel like the queen" experience of people making a fuss about what my nails look like. I am looking for people taking their job seriously and even actually caring about it because it is what they have created it is and what they have spent time on. I don't see it here. I see people giving zero darn about it and just want to get rid of clients every time they heard the "cha-ching"in their bank account. I don't think you can do good work with that attitude, and it indeed turned out that their work was lousy too. Oh and by the way don't even bother looking for the usual ambiance and pamper like those you would expect at other nail salons. I mean if you are the lucky selected ones you'll probably get the sister-like treatment like when you are dealing with the bullying girl gangs at school. Except we all know it stopped to be cool a long time ago. You know what would be cool? Actually respect what you are doing and respect others. read more

I seldom write reviews, but my recent experience at Thi Nails compels me to share my thoughts. As a former regular customer, I've noticed a decline in the salon's quality of service and products. During my recent visit for a manicure, I was disappointed to find that six of my gel nails had partially peeled off within days, contrary to the expected three-week lifespan. Upon contacting the salon to address this issue, they initially agreed to assist but later turned me away when I arrived for my scheduled appointment on Easter Sunday, citing the time elapsed since my last visit. There was a disagreement regarding the duration between my original polish date, whether it was 5 days or 11 days. Regardless, my main concern remains the premature peeling of the gel nails. Despite offering to pay for the full nail service again, I was left waiting for 20 minutes only to be told, quite abruptly, that they couldn't accommodate me. This lack of professionalism and customer care was disheartening. During my visit, I observed staff members engrossed in their phones and TV shows, rather than attending to customers. Leaving the salon, I was dissatisfied with both the service quality and the condition of my nails. Additionally, the salon's location in a busy area where individuals often solicit customers was noted. Unfortunately, the staff made no effort to address this issue during customer appointments. To the owner's response: While I appreciate the effort to clarify the timing of my last appointment, the premature peeling of my gel nails remains unresolved. Despite attempts to rectify the situation, I was turned away without a satisfactory resolution. As a customer, it's important to provide honest feedback to improve future experiences. My intention is to offer constructive criticism rather than disparage your business. I hope this feedback will be taken into account to enhance customer satisfaction in the future. Note: Following my review, the owner contacted me via text message to dispute the timing of my original service. However, the communication could have been handled more professionally. I had a gift card and this was one of the only nearby nail salons I could use it at, so my expectations were already low. It was a free mani pedi basically. Except I wish I had not come here. The man with glasses did an awful pedicure but a good polish. The woman with glasses did a really really bad gel manicure. She refused to redo a nail that was so badly done, I had to demand it. It was awful. And then I had an eyebrow wax, she didn't even turn on the light she was in such a rush to get to a bikini wax client who had only just walked in. She used three strips, didn't clean it up after, and when I got home I could see so many hairs she neglected. She never gave me a mirror to "check" her work. She rushed me out! Wow, I just had an incredible experience at this nail salon. I'm in town for a conference and wanted a quick refresh. I usually don't get anything fancy, but I was inspired by a TikTok and decided to try some fairly intricate 3D nail art. I searched all over the area, but the salons that specialized in this style were fully booked. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment at this spa for the very next day. While they didn't seem to specialize in 3D designs, I decided to give it a shot. I showed the nail artist the inspo pic, and she said, "No problem." And she absolutely nailed it. Cindy and her crew of technicians at this saloon are tops. My friend Sandra and I went to a number of saloons before we landed at Thi Spa. We found the other spas were either not very clean and/or overcrowded. In addition to being pristine and calming, the Thi Spa is always willing to accomodate our sometimes last minute requests! We appreciate the wide selection of colors for our nails and cannot extol the technicians enough. According to Cindy the owner each technician is cross-trained in every aspect of spa services. Usually the gel still on for two weeks but not more than that.. I'm already with my gel manicure over 3 weeks and it's look wonderful!! Although the price is a little bit higher than other places it's worth every dollar$$ Very very recommended!!

My feet looked and felt as soft as baby's feet after she pumiced my feet and trimmed the rough spots on my toes. Great job! Kikue, thank you for such a nice experience!

Due to Covid this an appointment only spot so please call them ahead of time and they very commentating so it won't be a long wait.
