    Pastrami on Dutch crunch
    Tiffany B.

Holy smokes I found this place by randomly doing a liquor store search on Yelp and boy am I glad I did! Drove up from Corona and we were starving. They have tablets you order on and then you pay at the gas side. I ordered the Paso Wrap and my bf got the Pastrami on Dutch crunch. Our food was ready quickly within maybe 5 minutes. I bit into my Wrap and it was the most tender and flavourful meat, thinly shaved. The Pastrami was just as amazing. Such quality food. Don't be alarmed it's at a gas station.

The first time I visited this place, I enjoyed it. I'm on crutches and it was whatever to navigate. Now I return and I'm in my mobility scooter and several aisles are blocked and I can't access. I didn't realize how cluttered this place was. It needs to be cleaned up. This is horrible service.

I was looking for something quick to go lunch and decided to give this place a try since it had decent reviews. I was underwhelmed. It started off promising but was disgusted at the end. Limited parking given it is a gas station spot. Reading the menu it gave me Ike's sandwiches vibes so I was excited. Ordering was quick and easy on the tablet then you pay at the register and wait for your number to be called. I got the tri-tip sandwich and onion rings. They also sell potato wedges, chicken strips, burritos, corn dogs and such. TRI-TIP: it was alright at the beginning then towards the end of the bread, the bread became chewy? It was odd. Then, when I was finishing up half of the sandwich there was something at the tip of my tongue that I kept chewing on and would just not go down. I pulled it out of my mouth and it looked like a lint at first but when I spread it out of the napkin it was not lint (see picture) I still have no idea what it is but I am disgusted. My friend got the Paso Wrap and he said the tri-tip in his tasted weird. I tasted a piece and it tasted sour! He ended up not finishing his either. ONION RINGS: even when it was freshly fried it was still soggy. Overall, I would say try at your own risk? Lol. It is a gas station deli after all (I know not all are bad). Maybe it's an off day today? Who knows. As for me, I will not be returning to buy at the deli and would not recommend from my experience. There's plenty of selections of snacks, drinks and alcohol so if the deli part does not catch your eye there are other things around as well.

This Mega Mini mart that's also a deli and liquor stop is a fantastic stop should you need anything for the road and more. We stopped in to gas up our 15 passenger rental van and the group wanted to pick up some water, snacks, beverages, water, ionized water, and other items. We assumed that we'd have to swing by CVS shortly after third base. WRONG! They had all the 'extras' we needed here. The liquor selection was just as dangerous as my favorite store back at home = I want to buy bottles I don't necessarily need, but want. I showed restraint, but barely. The cashier behind the counter was super friendly and was helping everyone find what they needed in this hyper stocked mini mart. We stopped in late in the evening otherwise I would have been down to check out the deli grindage I saw in the Yelp pics. If you're in the Paso Robles area and need to gas up and pick up some food and travel essentials, Third Base has you covered and then some. Buckle up!

    Monstrous Bacon Breakfast Burrito

Whether you're a local or visiting from out of town, this stop is a no-brainer if you need to quench your thirst, or fill your belly. As soon as you walk in you are introduced to their vast selection of liquor and other beverages. The staff will welcome you in and are always able to point customers In the right direction. No matter what brand of liquor you are looking to purchase I am sure you will find it here. The selection ranges from high-end top shelf to low-end bottom shelf plastic bottles. The wide variety is not limited to liquor but their beer selection is impressive as well. The second part to the shop is the food that they offer. Monstrous sandwiches to monster burritos, this is a great spot to fuel up before your day begins, of to fill your gut when it growls at you. I yet have to order something that I would not order again. So, if you're in town or out and about I encourage you to stop in and have a look.

Yo! This place has been here for awhile now and I always heard great things but never tried it until today. I ordered the grand slam burrito and it was really good. Giant burrito, super clean tasting breakfast burrito, you think it will be good but don't know it will be that good yo! I am a fan. See the pics.

It was sprinkling that day and this patio area was covered but had openings. So I had to get a hoodie and blankets to stay warm. We were the only ones there so surprised that it took awhile but I'll wait for good food. We started with chips and salsa, which were really crispy and freshly made. They also gave us a tray of three sauces and napkins. We ordered a carne asada quesadilla. Great portion and not light on the meat. We also had kiss Siberia plates three of those and we shared this came with five Quesabirria tacos. I'd say about the size of a street taco it came with of course the consume. It was delicious crispy lots of meat. My daughter got the kids quesadilla also a nice serving we drank water, but my one son got Horchata and that was fire.

I wasn't the only one thinking it was taking forever. Another couple almost left. It took about 30 minutes for the burrito to come out. I'm usually pretty lenient when it comes to waits if it is communicated but there was no communication or even "sorry for the wait" said after. It was also a bummer because you tip at the counter when you order and I felt my tip was pretty generous but then didn't get the service I would expect. I really felt bad for the group of 6 people whose food came out one by one with one person finished as the last person got their food. Again a simple communication goes a long way. It could have been a bad day and their food made up for the lack of service so that's why they still get a 4.

Not knowing where to eat on Good Friday, we decided to try a small hole-in-the-wall spot after…read morereading several positive reviews. There are a few things worth noting. First, the restaurant is quite small with a very quiet atmosphere--surprisingly so, especially with a jukebox that wasn't in use. The space didn't feel particularly clean, and the chairs were outdated and could definitely use some refurbishing. When we received the menus, I was honestly shocked by the prices. This is something I wish more reviewers had mentioned. We ordered a shrimp tostada (about $13) and shrimp fajitas (around $24). The shrimp tostada was disappointing--the shrimp was chopped so finely that it was hard to tell it was even there. It was overwhelmed by cucumber, tomato, and cilantro. The fajitas were similarly underwhelming: the shrimp were cut in half and curled up, with maybe around ten pieces total, but there was an excessive amount of large-cut onions and bell peppers, which made the dish less enjoyable. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the horchata we ordered was excellent. I did mention that the bell peppers were overabundant and cut too thick, but my feedback didn't seem to go anywhere. One concern I had was seeing staff handle multiple tasks--taking payments, cleaning tables, and serving food--without ever noticing handwashing, which was a bit off-putting. I'm not completely writing this place off, as I'd like to return and try their breakfast. Most reviews are positive, so perhaps this was just an off night. Still, given today's prices, I expect the quality to match. Beans were bland and rice was cold, I'm sure made way ahead of time. I'll update my thoughts after a second visit--judge for yourself in the meantime.

Tucked into the corner of a Starbucks location, this cute little spot is small but super inviting--and definitely lives up to the hype. As soon as we walked in, the place was clean and filled with the delicious smell of spices and fresh food. I ordered the chilaquiles (not listed on the menu, but they'll make it for you with your choice of meat or traditional eggs for the same price). I went with chili verde, and wow--I was not disappointed. It was loaded with meat, sauce, cheese, cilantro, onion, and sour cream. Absolutely worth the $13, and I'd 100% order it again--next time with al pastor! We also tried the chicken enchilada plate ($13), which was just as good. Great flavor, the perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and it came with rice and beans on the side. For drinks, they've got a wide selection, including alcoholic options. I grabbed a Jarritos--just a heads up, they're $3.50 each, a bit pricey, but ice cold and refreshing. Overall, this place was a hit for us. The waitress, Erma, was friendly, polite, and attentive--which, let's be honest, isn't always easy to find. The restaurant is clean, has plenty of seating, and judging by the steady flow of customers, it's definitely no secret anymore! Give it a try and see for yourself--I'm pretty sure you'll love it too. Thanks for reading! Follow me along for more hits and misses.
