My favorite item is the Nashville Hot Chicken Wings (always a must)! It's just crunchy, spicy, and the flavor !!! Just try it. We tried this spot while passing through Kansas City and it was great. Smoked wings were charred to perfection. The dry rub burger was juicy and flavorful. We had a tasty key lime pie for dessert and a couple Boulevard IPAs from their impressive draft beer list. I have never been to the quaint downtown area of Lees Summit and I think I have been missing out. My sister and I visited on a snowy day and had brunch at Third Street Social. We were seated close to the wood-burning fire and enjoyed a mimosa (which are bottomless with the purchase of an entree), the house made doughnuts, and the croque-madame sandwich. The restaurant is open and warm with plenty of seating. All covid protocols were being observed and the service was friendly and timely. Those doughnuts were incredible! Light and fluffy with a delicious raspberry sauce. The croque-madame sandwich was good as well and although it came out with the egg sunny-side up when I had asked for over-medium, our server noticed the mistake and corrected it immediately. This is honestly the best brunch spot in Lees Summit! They recently got rid of bottomless mimosas and now just offer carafes of mimosas. They're a little pricey but taste amazing & will get you feeling right if you know what I mean I wish they still did bottomless though. It was a better deal. But the brunch food is always good. I appreciate that this place is consistent in their food. You know you can't go wrong with apps/shareables like bulgogi tacos and the Brussels sprouts. Chicken and waffles are always Delicious, too. They have a pretty great happy hour. I always try something from their seasonal menu. This time, I tried the summer salad which had grilled peaches, sliced prosciutto, burrata, 2 pieces of grilled bread, red onions and a yummy balsamic vinaigrette. I still think about that salad because it was that good! Service is good, but sometimes slow. Reservations highly recommended for dinner. I've been wanting to check out Third Street for awhile. I met up with a friend on a Tuesday afternoon in Lee's Summit, so we made plans to eat here. We came in during the lunch hour and were seated quickly. We both ordered a drink from the bar (hers was in a can and mine was a mixed drink). We also placed our entree orders around the same time. I opted for the veggie burger with a side of asparagus ($1 or $2 up-charge, I believe). While our server was attentive, there was seemingly a holdup at the bar to get my mule. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The veggie burger was good and so was the asparagus. The only thing that was weird was that I was literally only given 4 spears of asparagus (and that's with the up-charge). I'm not sure why they were so chintzy, but we certainly got a good laugh out of the skimpy portion. In summation, I would come back here, but probably opt to get a beer and fries the next time. read more

I love third street! They have THE BEST white chicken lasagna. I also recently had their s'more's pie (apparently it was so popular it got permanently added to the menu) and O.MG. I have to fight the urge to get that pie weekly. It was exceptional and everything you want a s'mores dessert to be: Strong notes of toasted marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker crust. A friend of mine and I met for Happy Hour at Third Street Social this week and had a delightful time! The weather was lovely, so we dined outside. The patio umbrella provided just enough shade, and the orientation of the building kept us mostly out of direct sun. Kudos to our server, Sam F, who was extremely attentive, friendly, and efficient! She took great care of us, from leading us through the happy hour menu to checking on us frequently before and after our food was served. My friend had the regular fries, and I had the sweet potato fries; both came in "cone" dispensers and the portions were generous. We had our choice of ketchup or their house sauce, which tasted a bit like sweet horseradish and complemented the fries nicely. I also had a Korean steak taco, which was delicious!! Sam suggested a wheat beer, which paired well with my food, and my friend had a sangria, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was so tasty and fresh! My husband suggested this restaurant and I'm so glad he did. It's in downtown Lee Summit and there's street parking. We didn't have too much problem finding a place to park. We got there around 8:30 on a Friday night. There weren't any seats available in dining area so we sat on the bar side, which was just fine. There were some TVs so we were able to watch the Olympics. We had a hard time deciding what to get because there were so many tempting options. I ended up getting the chicken and waffle appetizer as my meal. Hubby got the stacked pastrami and upgraded his side to mac 'n cheese. Both meals were delicious! The chicken was two large chicken strips and two smaller waffles. It was definitely enough for a dinner. The chicken strip was crispy and seasoned well. The syrup for the waffle was so good. My husband's sandwich was quite tasty too. The best thing about Third Street Social is not the atmosphere, the six large screen TV's in the bar, nor the great 1970's music. The best thing about Third Street Social is the quality of the food. They MUST have a real professional Chef because the food is superb. First went to Third Street Social as part of work gathering and later as the chosen place for our retired government workers group. Now I attend with my wife most often for lunch and the quality of the food is still impressive. Many times we each order a couple of things off the Starters Menu because we each like different items. Yesterday it was the Deviled Eggs & Memphis Wings for me and my wife ordered the Brussel Sprouts/Cauliflower and soup. I'm fairly lukewarm about my experience, here. The food was pretty good, not mind blowing. The server was pleasant, but we barely saw him. I went halfsies on the fried chicken sandwich (Nashville hot, of course) and the truffled grilled cheese. The chicken sandwich was pretty delicious, but the bottom bun was so soggy you couldn't even pick it up. Pretty sure it sat in the hot sauce by the kitchen for a bit, before it was delivered to the table. The grilled cheese was also good, but there was not even a hint of truffle taste... which is why I ordered it. Our first visit was during KC Restaurant Week. Love the set up with these beautiful high backed tables that gave an illusion of no one else in the room. Although I was busy, we were able to get seated quickly with our reservation and our waitress was over soon after. She gave us suggestions on drinks and appetizers. We went with the shrimp and grits and the steak and fries from the special menu. The portion of food we received was beyond expectation. The flavor of the shrimp and grits had the right amount of kick to it for our liking. It was definitely the show stopper. I was please with the cook of my steak and it was seasoned fairly enough. Easily one if the best restaurants in the KCMO area. Right in the heart of downtown Lee's Summit stands this gem turned local sweet spot for dinner, bevies, and dessert. The staff is always helpful and pleasant, food delicious, and the environment lively. A bit loud to sit inside. I've never had a bad thing on the menu and I've had most of it. We started with the wings + brussels and cauliflower. The wings were nicely charred, but I was very displeased with the veggies. Finally went here for the first time and it lived up to its reputation. The space is lovely and the service is top notch. Got the fried chicken. Had two pieces with Nashville Hot and two without. The fried chicken is perfectly cooked, nice crunchy breading that isn't too flaky and a nice seasoning that's halfway between country seasoning and Cajun. The Nashville hot is messy but has great flavor. The heat really builds and lingers. Personally I'd rather have this on a sandwich or tenders than the bone-in chicken. The side of smoked Gouda mac was MASSIVE! The mac n cheese is soupier but it's baked, served in a cast iron crock, and has a decadent cheesy flavor with the right amount of smoke. The "spicy" vegetables that come with are really odd. I had a raw carrot that was tangy and spicy. I don't get it. My one knock on the meal. Definitely a two person meal! read more
