A staple in Northwood. Always yummy, and consistent, food and at a great price. The servers are attentive and the diner gives classic vibes.

Solid, no-frills breakfast spot and a true West Palm Beach staple. The New York omelette was hearty and delicious, and while the biscuits with sausage gravy weren't the best I've had, they definitely hit the spot. Affordable, locally owned, and always a reliable choice for a good breakfast. Service is also really great and food is served pretty quickly, so whether you're in a time crunch or you're out with friends and have time to linger, this is the spot!

Pay it forward is what I learned today. Came from La and we had a great meal and great service! And the bill was paid for by a stranger and now friend! Much blessings coming from La!

Great service, great food, beautiful community! It was a bit busy when we arrived Sinday morning but we do not be a table with one of the regulars. Meal was decent, a little bit bland but overall okay.

My friend Lisa suggested we come here for New Year's Eve breakfast. Found parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Was a little confused by the entrance as the door looked more like entering a utility closet. My friend was already seated so I joined her. Waiter came over to take my drink order. I just got water. We asked her to turn on the fan as it was hot. I joked with her but her sense of humor was non existent. I ended up turning it on myself because no one came over to assist. The catfish was delightful. Waiter brought my friend a to go box but completely ignored me. The food was great but the service I received was insulting.

The food was so good we breathed it down in minutes.

This place is the go to spot for Breakfast. Lovely home comfort styled meals. The service is amazing and the environment and atmosphere is cozy. They make you feel like family. THIS is THE SPOT!

Two eggs, home fries (substituted for grits, & salmon cakes. My biscuit was on a separate plate. I added the hot sauce & ketchup.

This place is a Northwood classic! It's an old school diner with great service and excellent food. The prices are great the amount and quality of the food they serve. I keep going back, because the experience is consistently awesome. It's old Florida right down to the Highway Men paintings on the walls. I can't recommend eating at This Is It enough.

Nice cafe. Service was slow when some friends and I came In, but it got better. Food was good and they give you generous portions.

We were in the neighborhood for an appointment at a dental lab and had about an hour to wait…read morebetween procedures. Not having had lunch we figured let's check a few local eateries. When I checked Howley's on yelp I was surprised that there were so many negative reviews. Howley's is managed by the Sub-Culture Group, and we dine regularly at Kapow in East Boca and Dada in Delray Beach, also managed by Sub-Culture. And while this is an entirely different type of food, I still wanted to take a chance and check them out. And we did and were pleased and more than satisfied. First, the decor is truly funky. I'm not sure if everything is from the 50's when they first opened, but it sure looked like it was. The restaurant was spotless, and the toilet was as well. The AC was strong which was appreciated. Artwork on the walls was not our style but must have been from a local artist. Ceiling fixtures were similar to what my parent's had in the late 60's. Jessica was our server and she was professional and positive in her attitude. Could not have asked for anything more. Decided to order a turkey club on rye bread ($15) with fries which were included and share it. Some of the reviews addressed how large their portions were and photos confirmed it. Jessica brought out the sandwich which was split in the kitchen with an ample amount of fries on each plate. The fries were delicious. Obviously freshly made and not sitting around, they were crisp without being overcooked. The turkey was described as fresh roasted sliced turkey and it sure was. Bacon was plentiful and crispy along with fresh lettuce and tomato. Mayo served on the side as requested. The sandwich was so large that I was only able to eat a half of my half, taking the rest home for the following day. Ordered a corn muffin and chocolate chip muffin to take home and each was fresh and delicious. ($5-$6) Howley's certainly warrants a visit if you are in the area and not seeking a trendy looking place which exists all over West Palm where the food may not be as good but the vibe is what is being sold with mediocre food. There was an on-site manager who visited our table to make sure all was good. I neglected to ask her name and apologize - she was welcoming and clearly on top of her managerial duties. Would I return? Sure would. And endorse fellow helpers to check them out.

It's a shame that they are so undercut by the kitchen. Kitchen: Dick Wolf should start a show, Law & Order: FCU (Food Crimes Unit). In the city, patrons are abused with substandard food. These are their stories. Dunkdunk. HOWLEY'S. 11:30 PM It was late. Dixie Grill had already shut down. I spun the iDBuzz north, to the only late night diner in this part of the county. Howleys. It was once a great joint. I walked in, to the vintage counter. Seats are looking worn again. The server was prompt. He cleaned the counter. Handed me the menu. I sighed, after opening it. It was still the decades old time capsule of standards. I thought: There was that chef, back in '09. He rocked the standards. Maybe they found someone with that kind of passion. They didn't. The Matzoh Ball- Noodle soup. Soup stock: Watery and salty. Noodles? Mushy. The Matzoh ball had a stale, slightly metallic taste to it. I put it aside. My French Dip, an old reliable, quickly arrived. Looked good. The fries are like ties, in this joint. They change width, over the generations of this geriatric menu. This was okay. A ray of hope. The sandwich looked good. I picked it up. Dipped it into the au jus. Watery. Thin, like a patron who won't eat bad food, trying to pick something off of this menu. I was hungry. I ate the sandwich. The jukebox played a sad, 1950's. Patsy Cline tune: Crazy. I watched Ghana get banged up by Colombia, in World Cup. Ref played for the system. My mouth, and eyes, and ears were all filled with regret. I don't generally do desserts. They had some fine looking cakes. A slice is a meal for four. I asked the server for something smaller. Coconut cream pie. Made fresh. In-house. Looked great! Coffee. Black, and hot, like Beyoncé at a Super Bowl halftime. The pie? Good crust, but the filling? Thin. Watery. Over sweet. Coffee was diner decent. Vibe to the place is tired. Needs some love. I finished writing up my notes. I found a no-longer-existent phone booth. Called the DA (Digestive Attorneys). Buccan absolutely lived up to the hype. While in Palm Beach…read morefor a work meeting, my wife and I made it a point to dine at Buccan after seeing it consistently recommended on Yelp and by locals. After one meal here, it was easy to understand why it's considered one of the most sought-after restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is energetic and vibrant without feeling overly loud, and the service was polished, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. The menu encourages sharing, which allowed us to sample a variety of dishes. We started with the lobster aquachile, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The lobster was tender, and the bright citrus flavors paired perfectly with the avocado and vegetables. It was a refreshing and memorable way to begin the meal. Next came the beef empanada and pork taco. The empanada was rich and flavorful with perfectly cooked beef and a crisp exterior, while the pork taco packed an impressive amount of flavor into a single bite. Both were excellent examples of why Buccan has developed such a strong reputation for its small plates. One of the highlights of the evening was the squid ink orecchiette. The pasta was perfectly cooked and coated in a rich, savory sauce that brought everything together. It was one of those dishes that makes you immediately start planning your next visit. For a larger plate, I ordered the prime beef burger, which was outstanding. The beef was juicy and flavorful, the toppings were balanced, and the fries were perfectly crisp. It may seem unusual to order a burger at one of Palm Beach's most acclaimed restaurants, but this one absolutely deserves the attention it receives. What impressed me most about Buccan was the consistency across every dish. Nothing felt like an afterthought. From the creative seafood dishes to the comfort-food favorites, every plate was executed with care and attention to detail. Palm Beach has no shortage of excellent dining options, but Buccan stands out as a restaurant that successfully combines creativity, quality ingredients, and flawless execution. If you're visiting the area, this is a reservation worth making well in advance. Recommended: Lobster Aquachile, Beef Empanada, Pork Taco, Squid Ink Orecchiette, Prime Beef Burger, and don't skip the fries. One of the best meals we had during our trip.

I talk about the "curb-to-table" experience frequently. In my former role as a Delta Air Line Captain, I recognized the curb-to-plane challenges our customers encountered. Chef Conley has created a friendly and welcoming experience from curb-to-table. It starts with the complimentary valet. Finally. Finally. I learned about our regular valet: MANNY! Manny, thank you for the kindness and safe service you have given us. You are usually the first person who takes care of the Buccan Family. You create the smile before we walk in the doors of Buccan or Imoto. Thank you. Solang' (my spelling is probably wrong and I apologize): You are such a beautiful soul. Thank you for your kind words to Laura as we left. Kindness makes a difference. While kindness is free, sincerity is priceless. Wow, I haven't even chatted about the food. We tried something new this time. After our small plates, we tried the pork chop. The mild onion and sweet rhubarb---simply stunning. Even shared, we boxed some for home. I don't care if you are watching what you eat. Close your eyes! The chocolate cookies (warmed) are a must. Period. Selfishly, I hope Chef Clay never gets a tv show. A book deal is allowed. We want this local treasure and his team to remain anchored here. Clay and his team are own foodie treasure in our back yard. But wait, there's more: Honored to watch Chef Clay modestly expand the Miami environs. He will be opening his Buccan-Imoto-Buccan Sandwich Shop experience in Coral Gables sometime in June/July. OMG, we cannot wait for this to open. Though retired from the airlines (I miss my MIA overnights), we will make the trip to celebrate these new venues. However, we will do it very quietly. We do not wish to be labeled as stalkers. Probably one of my longest reviews. I love seeing hard working people succeed. What this team does for the community is simply breathtaking. This is a true success story. Thank you Buccan-Imoto-Grato-Sandwich Shop-Stokes Barn Team!!!!
