I've had 2 different experiences here, and both are for the Service Center. The first was an oil change. Like any oil change at the dealership, done in about an hour and your car is washed. Down side, more expensive! My second experience here was to check my air conditioner, which has been working a little weird. The passenger side would get cold and the drivers side just warm air. But sometimes, there would be cold air on the drivers side. So they evacuated the freon to check if it was low, and they told me it was a bit low. They did a few more tests to diagnose it, and they pin pointed it to the expansion valve. Just to replace this was going to be over $500. A little to steep so I wanted to hold off on it. So when I left the dealership service, now both the drivers and passenger side were no longer working. I waited another day to see if anything changed, and both sides still were not working. My assumption, you can guess. But I had paid $150 just for them to evacuate the freon, check the system, and replace the freon. I don't know what kind of business they run here. When I came by the day before the service, the Service Manager explained a variety of things that could be wrong and he scheduled an appointment for me the following day. He mentioned that it would be $50 to diagnose it and it could be applied to the total fix. When I came in the following day for the appointment, another Service Manager assisted me and gave me the quote of $150. I was a bit confused why the quote went up an additional $100 and I told him that I was quoted the $50. Fast forward, so the Service Manager that originally set my appointment calls me about 2-hours later telling me that they needed to evacuate the freon to do more tests, so that's when diagnosing it went up to the $150 and the final diagnosis was to replace the expansion valve for an additional $500+. So I decided to take my car to another mechanic and not only did the expansion valve need replacement, but also the A/C compressor and additional parts. So I'm not sure what happened at Thomas Acura. I kind of wished I had the car checked by someone else before I brought it here. So not happy with all the little things going on, from the mis-quote for the diagnosis to the A/C not working at all when I left. And now getting the second opinion, there's a bigger reason why the A/C wasn't working at all anymore. It's just a little suspicious. Don't know if I would return to this location again. read more

I also asked for the door latch assembly for the same car the price is $89 but Montclair price is $82. This dealer did my 100K miles maintenance because it's closer to home 6 months ago they charged me around $800 I hope that's not a lot. I'm not gonna go back to this dealer anymore. I don't normally write reviews, but I'm leaving this one for my father's terrible experience: TL;DR Mark Giles lied about the condition of my car to charge an additional $70. When later confronted on this, he denied remembering me. I went in to this dealership to respond to a recall for my Acura TSX relating to the sunroof gasket. When I took the car in, I also mentioned that the vehicle's phone charging port was not working and would like that checked out. Mark Giles took the Acura and gave it an inspection, then came back to tell me that my port's fuses were functioning properly, so fixing it was going to require opening the box to check inside. The repair cost was $70, which Mark justified with covering "cost of parts" and "service". I declined the $70 repair and went home. The next day, I took my car to an auto repair shop to compare prices for fixing the phone charging port. The mechanic made a quick inspection and told me that one fuse was damaged and one fuse was missing entirely. He replaced the fuses and my charging port worked perfectly. The fuses totaled to less than a dollar and the fix took a couple of minutes. I returned to Thomas Acura and confronted Mark about his intentionally inaccurate assessment. He responded with "I don't remember." At this point I am livid, and inform him that I will post a bad review. Mark snarkily responded "Go ahead! I've been here 30 years!" I was very angered to find that I was given a false evaluation of the condition of my car so Mark Giles could squeeze more money out of me. I would not trust any charges coming from this establishment; it may be worth your time to go to another repair site to find whether someone at Thomas Acura was trying to cheat you as well. read more

I can't say enough about how great my experience was with Thomas Acura. The people and staff are warm, welcoming and responsive. I live in Long Beach, roughly 8 minutes away from Cerritos Acura. And yet, I made the drive out to West Covina for one reason: to do business with SImon Lo. This past weekend, I started my fourth lease with Acura because of the service that Simon has provided for close to 10 years now. I even followed him to Thomas Acura from his former dealership. The reason is this: Simon always makes sure that I get in and out within roughly 90 minutes and sets things up for a really pleasant purchase experience. Simon is extremely responsive and works hard to ensure that his clients receive the best deal possible. Ian is the best! He found me crying at a gas station after I got sideswiped and my tire was blown. Somehow during the incident my cell phone was also lost. I was on a roadtrip, not familiar with the area, had just slept in my car the previous night, and couldn't look up anything since my phone was missing. He took me back to Thomas Acura, fixed my tire for a low rate and even had the inside of car cleaned! He also took a personal interest and showed me where there was a Verizon store so I could replace my phone. I HIGHLY recommend this place! Jeff is literally the best. He is so accommodating and he is always willing to answer any questions, even if it's a dumb question, about my new car. Jeff took us on a test drive in the Acura TLX Aspec in the hills and showed us all the cool features of the car. Jeff is super knowledgeable in the Acura cars and even all the comparable other cars I was thinking about, like the RC350 and the Q50. Jeff eased me into buying the TLX Aspec after comparing it with all the other cars. Walked onto the lot after already having a car in mind from an online ad. After several minutes a guy comes out with the most unfriendly attitude and personality. You can tell he doesn't want to be there and could care less if we are either. He asks a couple questions, never smiles, gives one word answers and barely says a thing throughout the entire test drive. Ummm awkward. We end the test drive and discuss negotiating the price. His reply, "Oh no we price based on the same research consumers would find on the internet and you would not find this car for cheaper with a navigation included." Unfortunately for him we had found same exact car with navigation...same price. His car was not the cheapest it should've been. Then we find out he's the finance manager, but he doesn't know the negotiations and we have to "talk inside since it's easier." I came to leave my negative review of this dealership and just saw that someone else just received the same type of bad service and dirty tactics that I received. We talked to many dealerships via email before coming to Thomas. Almost all had the same deal on the table but Thomas had a particular color we were looking for. We double checked with them to make sure the deal was good before coming down and they assured us it was. They even gave us a hard quote via email. We came down and viewed the car and had our credit pulled. Our credit came back top tier and right before we were supposed to sign the manager said the deal was no longer valid. They tried to pull a very dirty bait and switch on us. We jumped up and ran out of there as fast as possible. We wasted 2 hours of our time just so Thomas Acura could attempt to trick a good loyal Acura customer. We drove over to another dealership and they gave us the 100% opposite treatment. I am appalled at the lack of customer service and professionalism of Jimmy in the service department. He is rude, disrespectful, and had the audacity of hanging up the phone on me for his lies and incompetence. This does not fly with me and it is not okay do be disrespectful to a customer especially that I was not being rude or disrespectful. They don't follow through on their word. Getting a loaner car for service is a headache here. I had to have my dad take my car for an oil change and they had them their waiting over 4 hours. I had complained of having issues with the Apple car play usb connector being loose and disconnecting and Jimmy told my dad it needed to be replaced than later said it was a cable issue. I used an apple brand cable cuz apparently that was the issue and the car's audio still disconnects. I called to have it checked and he was like well it worked fine when the car was here. Well that's nice but that doesn't solve the issue at rise. I explained that he had said the part needed to have been replaced but after my dad sitting there for 4 hours and jimmy saying it would be an all day thing to replace the part my dad said he would have me bring it in at a later time. Which is what I was trying to do but Jimmy decided to be arrogant and disrespectful! Disgusted beyond belief by this action and lack of professionalism! This review is for the Service department, and I will never do business with Acura again. Took my car in for a simple oil service, and got my car back smelling like there was gas or oil heavily leaking. Also did not get the next next oil change sticker. And funny thing is when I got my paperwork back, there were photos that weren't my license plate! Absolutely shameful and terrible. I went on a business trip for a week and left my car outside with the windows open because of the smell. After I came back, I took my car in as it still had the smell. They said the fuel pump was leaking. Told them that my car did not smell like that prior to the oil service. They said supposedly its not their fault as that area is not affected during an oil service. These scum bags broke my fuel pump, which cost about $500 to get it replaced with labor. To hell with that, I left and took my business elsewhere. Now I have vowed to never do business with Acura, and every single opportunity I get to talk about that experience, I tell my story to every and anyone I can. Never make the mistake of bringing your car here for servicing! Initially, I made sure to take my TSX only to the Acura dealer as you would think that you are getting honest service and quality of work done there. Time after time, I waited 2 hours just for an oil change (with appointment booked prior). Afterwards, the service advisor (Jimmy) would come back with a sheet of what needs to be fixed totaling over $1,400! He said that there was a leak in my valve cover gasket (this was proven to be a lie). He also said that my transmission fluid is dirty and needs to be replaced. I told him that I already got my transmission fluid replaced from them less than 5,000 miles ago, how can this be? He had no response besides repeating that the oil is dirty. (Again checked the fluid dipstick and oil was fresh). The thing that really embossed the crooked nature of this dealership, is that I was never informed of a recall concerning my TSX's engine oil consumption issue (which requires an engine rebuild) until AFTER the warranty conveniently expired. Why was I not informed of this the last couple of years I have been bringing the car in for servicing? Also, why are your service advisors (Jimmy) trying to sell things to me that I have already done/ or don't need while neglecting to inform customers of recalls that can result in serious damage/injury if not corrected. In summary, this pathetic place simply did not want to cover the recall under warranty. They have to resort to lying and hiding recalls from customers (until the warranty expires so they can charge you for their mistake). read more

Here's why, today I got a message from auto trader from the owner of this dealership, Ian Thomas...I called him, told him about my car, after about 5 mins of explaining that the car had 20k on the engine and the engine was new as of 2016, then I also had transmition rebuilt he said ok bring it in and "if checks out we'll give you the $10k you want for it"...my car is a 2006 Dodge Charger, he lied and said "a friend" of his is going bankrupt and wants a black charger. I came in sat there as they drove my car, came back in and the manager of the Acura (the owner was home or something), said that the car is great, drives great, moonroof works, the leather seats, dual climate control, heated seats, and CarPlay unit are all great! Went from loving this place to feeling as though you ARE just another number, get the sale and be gone. It was time for my registration and being the busy person that I am, failed to realize that I hadn't received my license plates that were "going to be mailed out" per the staff the day I went to get the car. I called to inquire about it to be transferred 3 times to a lady that was beyond rude. She said that she did not have a request to get the plates and said there is nothing she could do. When I told her that I was promised that day that plates would be mailed, she stated she would look into it and get back to me. That was 2 months ago. Is it really that hard to give a follow up call? I ended up just getting replacement plates for $20. Guess they didn't want to have to fork up $20 since they "no longer need a sale" IN ADDITION, I was told that the first 3 oil changes were on the service department. When I inquired about that.....they said if it is not on the contract then they could not help me. Wow! Came here on Monday (June 26) due to service light on in my car, Acura TLX. I was happy when I was able to make my appointment earlier that day. I was greeted right away upon entering service department. Jimmy let me know right away what type of service I needed to get taken care of on my car. I let him know I was in a hurry, on my lunch break. He let me know he would do his best to get my car done quickly. I waited patiently in guest waiting lounge. Man where do I even start , Made my first big car purchase here when I was younger & they were the only ones that gave me a chance since my credit history was brand new , I'll always appreciate that ! My review is mainly towards the service department if I could give 10 start I wouldn't hesitate....Jimmy is awesome he always went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. I never had to wonder what was going on with my car during service because he always kept me updated & whenever I needed something I knew I could always call him & he would try his best to make it happen. It's the little things that count, I didn't feel like just a number waiting to pick up my car I felt like a valued customer. I put in a reservation for an Acura Integra to Thomas Acura. Sadly, I was told by the internet manager that I will have to pay the dealer mark up, currently at 5k or whatever it may be at the time of delivery of the vehicle. He said they can't guarantee MSRP, the price I am willing to pay. I was told by the Internet manager that I can have my reservation refunded if I am not willing to pay the dealer markup. As if the market value they impose is not some arbitrary number. This vehicle is not on the lot costing them money. Not part of there normal allotment from Acura. It is an entry level vehicle they are trying to force me to pay more for. They prefer to lose a customer than make a deal. Take this as a warning. Don't pay these exuberant mark ups. I had a very pleasant experience at Thomas Acura. All staff I interacted with were professional and friendly (especially Simon and Stephanie). They were very responsive and excellent in following up on inquiries, making you feel like a valued customer. They also priced their vehicles reasonably, very knowledgeable about their products and be able to explain the details to you. The purchase transaction was quick and hassle free. I submitted online inquiries to a few other Acura dealerships but Thomas Acura is the only one that made me feel my business is appreciated. The others either pushing for sales giving you an attitude or not returning emails. I actually test drove the vehicle in another dealership in Alhambra before and the associate there had zero knowledge about the vehicle and asked me to refer to the driver's manual when I asked questions. I don't live near Thomas Acura but their excellent service made me go out of my way to experience their dealership. Brian Oh lied to get me to drive all the way over. Worst Internet sales department. These guys first threw out a terrible lease quote on an RDX Tech. Told them no. Then they asked to see where the competition was. Then offered to do significantly better. Why not just be aggressive in the first place. You are the Internet Department. Then told me they could match. Why would I bother? Well, they supposedly had the color and options I want. Drive all the there and they low ball my trade in (Sierra Acura and CarMax offered significantly higher - No Contest). Then he says, "oh my deal is for a base model RDX and not a Tech." So yes, this dude wastes hours of my time when he only spends 30 minutes of his time making up stuff. read more
