I contacted them to find out if my over the range microwave was repairable without costing an arm and a leg. It as a 2010 model so it has some mileage In January it started flickering and going out. I would shake the power cord & plug it back it in and that fixed it.....for a short time. Then that stopped working. Then let it sit unplugged for days and plugged it in and got 2 to 3 uses of it before it did the same thing Reached out to Thomas Home Services via Thumbtack for a local repair vendor close to the house hoping I could take it down and just drop it off in their shop LIKE WE USE TO DO IN THE OLD DAYS. WELL, NO ONE DOES THAT ANYMORE I FOUND OUT. So I scheduled a tech to swing by the house for the min. rate which would be applied to the repair. Set it up for two Fridays ago and then waited, waited, waited and waited. No one came. Sent them a note and they did get back to me very apologetically and were very contrite. They just dropped the ball and failed to contact me. I was upset and was going to go to another vendor until the service manager reached out to me, Gary, who apologized and allowed me to swing by and drop it off which was a big deal for me since it would get done and I might? Save some $$ since they did not have to come to the house was my thought process. Dropped it off this past Monday and met with Gary and everything got soothed over and forgiven.. Gary got back to me on Thursday I want to say and let me know they got the microwave to power up yet none of the keyboard buttons would work and THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT WITHOUT A TOTAL TEAR DOWN WITH FULL PART REPLACEMENT ALONG WITH KNOWING MANY OF THOSE PARTS FOR A 2010 JUST ARE NOT AVAILABLE. Plus the costs for doing that i.e. rebuilding the entire machine would exceed the price a new machine. So in the end I asked if they could take the machine, part it out, re cycle the parts and take any parts that they used in it to get the power working again. We both decided that we had hit the end of the trail. He recycled out the machine, and I found out if that microwave was worth repairing it & IT WASNT. Then out of nowhere Gary waived all the technical analytical costs given what had happened on the earlier appointment. I was duly impressed with his kind gesture, professionalism, responsiveness and honest candor on everything from the company to the staff responding to phone and e mail requests and the Service Manager Gary too. Another great experience. Had a home warranty call. No one was available on the weekend but atleast they had a scheduling option on their website which actually worked out! Insisted warranty change to them despite mixed review talk, but I relied on my past experience with them. Sure enough Riley came out and was amazing from start to finish. He communicating when coming, took time to answer questions, called on site like he said he would, a couple times, had parts on his truck, did what he could do on all fronts. Great experience, far exceeded even good expectations I had going in with them. Work line/office (Bree) was great, too. They answer their calls and super personable. Bree is a dedicated warranty person so knows a few more relevant details. Not sure why their overall rating is so low. It doesn't at all align with my experience twice over now. I would like to say. The first visit was good. But after they returned for second visit it was over 500 dollars and plumber is pushing a home warranty I managed to negotiate some of that price and explained what I was told. Justin the manager went into we tape all conversation and I'm ok with that but it wasn't a taped conversation but to threaten that when the second time you return the price tripled. Very pushy to jack price and not a bit customer service based company. When you call for home repairs be responsible. I have the membership (or whatever it is) through Thomas home services and up until the last few months I've always been satisfied with the services. They offer inspections for different areas of your home and I typically do a repair or two following that inspection. I've been trying to schedule my plumbing inspection for months and I'm not too sure what's going on and if they don't have the staffing numbers they used to but they cannot make their appointment windows, unless you're the first appointment of the day. Today, is the third time I've left work early to be here between 12-2 and nothing. I was notified after 2 that they were on their way. Very disappointed overall and will not be continuing with their home coverage/ membership program. read more

Had them out to replace a hinge on my oven door. They told me the part is unavailable. No work done and they charged me $125 which I think is pretty steep for 10 minutes and not being able to help me. He told me that if hinge was available it would have been $400 to repair. (When I checked G.E. Parts it was a $48 part. I'm going to order the part from G.E. Myself and replace it. I would not call this company again. read more

Our refrigerator broke down 3-27-26 (compressor). After many service calls ( 5 weeks total) and still not working correctly ( ice maker not working and freezer iffy , would not hold temperature below 22-23 degrees, should be at zero degrees) we cancelled the work order and bought a new refrigerator. We asked for a full refund and was told by the service manager that there would be a service charge. We argued that there should no service charge due in fact that the problem was not fixed and the charge was finally dropped. I asked for $230.00 reimbursement for the dry ice we had to buy to save the the food in the refrigerator and freezer and was told by the service manager that dry ice was not authorized by him so we were out of luck. We were told that the refund would happen in 5 to 7 days but actually took 11 days total. There were many times during this ordeal that we were told we would get a phone call from the service manager or the service tech as to what was going on. so I got a special for AC for inspection. Following the inspection the repairman was pressuring me into doing work on both of my units which work fine, but he said I'd need a new capacitor and surge protector on both units and other work or they would fail $2600.00 or I would have to replace both units mounting to several thousand dollars. Even after I explained that I have a home warranty he said the home warranty would not cover this kind of work even though they replaced the whole system before. He gave me suggestions on how to improve the unit such as getting a start capacitor installed and condensate safety switch. We had them service our Bosch dishwasher. We spent $525 for repair. They emailed us the receipt and failed to indicate the model and serial number on our dishwasher. We requested something that included the information so that we could get reimbursement from Bosch but they told us it was illegal for them to make a change to our statement. We requested anything in writing with this information without changing the existing receipt and they said they could not help. Completely ridiculous, given that it was their mistake to begin with. Have an Hvac unit less than a year old, that just simply isn't doing its job. Have had techs out multiple times who do next to nothing except say oh your filter is dirty. I change every week. The problem is the thermostat they installed, throwing my other one away at the initial install. One tech said oh it's not compatible with your system! OK we'll install the correct one?? Same thing today, the guy says oh it will be $275 for a new thermostat! Not happening guys! The thermostat shows 84-85 when it's set for 77. The house never properly cools and I've explained this multiple times! They cleaned my air ducts after the initial install, tech today says oh your air ducts are dirty again that's the problem. Lived here 14 years, previous system worked fined for a very long time. Just wish they'd quit screwing me around and fix it correctly. They hee-haw around and just leave. They installed a new AC on my rental home in 2024 that came with a 10 year warranty. In the summer of 2025 my tenant called saying ithe AC wasn't pushing any cold air into the house. So I called THS, knowing that even though it was a Saturday, they had a 24 hour emergency line. What I didn't know was it was a voice mailbox. And apparently one that wasn't checked. I left a message Saturday, No call back Saturday. I called Sunday and went thru the same steps - no call back Sunday. I'm writing this message on Monday.....still no call back. Thomas Home Services called US and asked if their technician could stop by and take a look at our front loader washing machine because he was in the area. (We had made an appointment for the following week). Technician opened the door and turned the drum: "Washer has a bad bearing, it's shot". That was his diagnosis- $125,- We received an email which showed that it would cost $1900 to repair the bearing on this $800 machine, no details like what the parts would cost, how much for labor etc. Obviously, they make money with their inflated service call fee, not with actual repairs. read more

My ice maker stopped working & the temperatures the fridge & freezer were fluctuating. In mid-February, my husband contacted Thomas Home Services and they sent a technician to check it out. He couldn't find the information he needed to order the part necessary to fix the ice maker & he told me he would go back to the office to look it up and get back to us with a quote. This visit was $89. A couple weeks went by and we hadn't heard anything. I called 3 times before I was able to talk with someone in the office and they gave me a number of reasons why they hadn't gotten back to me from a new system, to them needing more information about our fridge (despite them not reaching out to us for additional information), and lastly they said our service ticket was closed out and marked complete. While they offered to continue looking for the part, if we send them a photo of the serial number/tag on the back of our fridge, they also said that they probably won't find the part because the fridge is likely too old, even though it is less than 10 years old. Needless to say our fridge was never fixed and we will have to contact another company & have to pay another service fee. I would not recommend Thomas Home Service to anyone. read more

Called Thomas Home services in December to fix my ice maker in my refrigerator. They came out about 1-2 week later after scheduling and the initial visit the technician quotes us about $500 to fix the ice maker... everything else on the fridge works fine so I figured $500 is better than $2000 on another new fridge. He ordered the parts came back out 2 week later to install the parts and great we have ice again. However two days later our ice maker is exhibiting the same symptoms just before it stopped making ice. We call Thomas home back up again and then tech comes out about 5 days later. Inspects it and says the water valve needs to be replaced... we then have to spend another $80 for a part. He came back out and installed that and that is on January 31st and ice seems to be working for about a week or two and but now we have water coming out of the ice dispenser while it dispense slushy like ice. I call the business today and speak to someone in their call center who takes appointments and explain the situation and they then tell me that because I am calling basically 3 days past the 30 day warranty that I will have to pay for another $125 call out fee and probably more parts that they want to charge me for. I ask for a manager and I am told they are the manager. I ask her if waiving the $125 is worth loosing future business from and she just wants to repeat that its past the 30 days and that yes I will have to pay. I get it! I am passed 30 days ... but for the sake of keeping a future customer for other home needs, is that not worth waiving the $125? Guess not... either way Ill just find another company to pay $125 for who will hopefully earn my future business.... In response to your reply... I get it you guys wanted to make it right but the repair was never actually fixed after about $600 spent... I was passed 30 days from the last time you came out... and it comes down to a business decision you made. Please stop bullying me to remove my review. Very disappointed with service tech. A tech came out to fix problem with icemaker that wasn't working correctly. He spent the majority of the time punching buttons on the door that didn't do anything and would not listen to what I was telling him. I am not a tech type person, so I was relying on an honest person to fix the problem. His conclusion was based on 'process of elimination' but he didn't do anything except press buttons. He never took anything apart or tested anything and then said the problem was the water inlet valve and cost would be over $500. I would have done it if I wouldn't have asked advice elsewhere. Number one - a valve is between $100-$150. I know there is labor involved but not $400 worth. Also, it was NOT the valve there was a clog in the water filter container area. Problem solved but NOT by this tech. He was very persistent that I buy the warranty plan - at one point after declining multiple times, I asked him if he got commission for that and he said yes.
