This place is definitely different from any Thai restaurant I've been to before. It's super small, with only a handful of tables. You order at the counter, grab your number, and find a table. They also have a big jug of cucumber water that was so refreshing! They didn't have my usual yellow chicken curry, so I decided to try something completely different--the drunken noodles. I honestly had no idea what I was ordering, but OH MY GOSH... I was in love with this dish! The flavors were fantastic, and they topped it with deep-fried basil. I'm not even kidding when I say I think I've dreamed about that crispy basil every day since! It was SO good! The food was definitely the star of the show for me, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I think this is such a fun little spot to meet a friend for lunch, especially if you want somewhere casual and different. That said, it is VERY small, so I personally wouldn't choose it for a family dinner with a bunch of picky eaters or rambunctious kids. The menu is also a little different than your typical Thai restaurant, so definitely keep that in mind. For dinner, I'd probably order it to-go and enjoy it at home. The spicy omelette tom yum soup had a great balance of mild spice and sourness, and it tasted very authentic. The texture of the fried omelette after soaking in the soup was not my favorite, but that may come down to personal preference. The Thai iced tea had a good balance of tea and condensed milk, although it was sweeter than I prefer. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table afterward. Water is self-service. They also have a helpful sign explaining the ordering and seating process for first-time guests. The restaurant was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a great ambiance. I especially enjoyed the small area showcasing the chef's history and journey. Overall, the warm service and welcoming atmosphere made the experience memorable.

One difference with their Bun Bo Hue is they don't add pork blood cake in their version, which is a minor "ding" in my preference. The Pho here is also very good. Like the Bun Bo Hue, the stock they use (stock is much better than just plain broth that many other restaurants use) is rich, favorable, with just the right amount of fat. The spicy / heat level is rather mild, but there are chili oil, chili flakes and Sriracha at each table, so you can add more heat if you want. Unlike many other restaurants, they also bring out little containers of pickled sliced garlic and pickled hot peppers ... the sliced garlic is a great addition to any dish. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is very clean, well lit, and there is plenty of parking. The prices on the menu are more than reasonable when compared to comparable restaurants in the region ... less expensive than most others. The bonus for me was the cream puff that came with the meal. I have not seen that happen for at least 15 years ... it use to be a common occurance whenever you ordered Pho or Bun Bo Hue. All in all, this is now in my top three Pho restaurants.

I have been here multiple times. Today I got a pahd thai ($7.95), which was very good. The noodles were cut into bite-size pieces, which was surprising but made for easier eating. I also got the Masman brown chicken curry ($8.95) which was delicious. Potatoes nicely done, rich tasty curry sauce. The Spicy Thai Fried Rice ($7.95) was very spicy. The chef/order taker suggested I put the spicy bits on the side, which was a good idea. There were a few nuclear nuggets left in the rice, which had a anisey-type flavor. 3/5 As an impulse I added the Satay ($7.95) as an appetizer. 4 pieces of chicken came with a yummy peanut sauce and cooling sweet cucumber pieces. And a piece of toast, which got fed to the crows. The chicken was a bit dry on its own, which is fine as there was plenty of yummy peanut sauce to slather it in. Interior of restaurant is a bit dingy; you can avoid that by ordering take-out ("to-go"). If you're really hungry, eat in the car! This is a great spot for Thai food; I recommend patronizing them as their prices are more than reasonable and you're probably helping save peoples lives with each order of curry. read more
