We recently purchased a Thor 24" Wall Mounted Range Hood. I found that , as shown in Thor's marketing materials and descriptions , it is nicely designed and made. We also bought it because, unlike competitor's 6"- high hoods ,made to be fitted under cabinets, Thor's at 11" tall could be attached to the wall - and presumably exhausted through the wall. Therefore, upon receiving the hood, I was surprised and disappointed to find that , although Thor's unit could be cantelivered from the wall, it was only set up to be mounted under cabinet and exhausted out the top. Fortunately my contractor and I found a way to flip the exhaust port from top to back, turn the motor mount 90%, hang the unit from the wall and (without help from cabinetry) hook it to in-wall ductwork and electrical outlet. It works fine and looks great. It would have been much easier had Thor included this option in its design and instructions - or if, not, at least alerted potential buyers, in its marketing materia,l that the "wall mounted hood" was " designed to be placed under a cabinet and exhausted upward through it. It is VERY difficult to get service calls and parts for all of the THOR appliances. In addition I have had issues with three of my new THOR appliances. 1. The Built in Microwave went out after 6 months and required an expensive new motherboard. Needless to say it has been replaced by a Panasonic. 2. Two refrigerator glass shelves shattered for unknown reasons and a third is being held together by Gorilla Tape. (Not due to heated or heavy items.) Repairman came by and was equally puzzled. Ordered shelves on May 9th and still have not heard back nor been able to connect with their service/shipping department. ALSO, the ice maker fell off of its mounting. Costly service call which pointed out that there was a design failure. 3. The dishwasher is quirky and has to be unplugged on ocassion so that it can reboot the program. 4. Gas stove top burns too hot. Difficult to simmer soups and sauces. Do not walk!!! RUN away from anyone trying to sell you on the quality of THOR appliances. read more

Absolutely horrible microwave. The thing stopped working tripping my circuit breaker when even plugged in. Its been FIVE months since I put it a claim for a warranty and thor keeps stalling. First they said it can be repaired but they never sent parts to the repair people then they said they would replace it. After 2 months they claimed the unit was on back order. 3 months after that they simply stopped responding. I want to sue them in small claims court but can't even find their address they hide all that info on their website. I will never buy their crappy products ever again. This should be a NEGATIVE 5 star rating Only giving this one star because I cannot give a negative rating. Our Thor under-counter drawer refrigerator has been installed for six months. For all of those months, it has been alarming relentlessly. The only way to stop the alarm is to turn the unit off. We had to purchase a second "garage" refrigerator to hold our food. The contraption was purchased from LOWES, and we paid for the 5 year extended warranty (complete joke) which apparently does not apply until the manufacturer warranty expires (two years). The customer service experience has been THE WORST. Thor "partners" with Sears in our area but requires that parts be shipped directly to the owner address. Sears has made THREE visits so far, from THREE DIFFERENT service technicians. Each has made the same diagnosis and ordered the same part. This has been happening since December of 2025 (I write this in March), only because it took two months to even get the first technician to show up. We attempted to resolve this via Lowes. They were not helpful, pointing us to Thor, which was obviously not effective. We will never get these hours of our life back, spent on hold, service calls, moving food to and from the garage. I bought a Thor above the range microwave and after ~ 3 months, the exhaust fan made a terrible grinding noise and then the exhaust fan completely died. Thor sent a local appliance repair (who was wonderful) and it needs a replacement exhaust fan and part got ordered Jan 19. I received a note from Thor support that the part was backordered (already frustrating). On Feb 19th I got a follow up that it was back in stock and they'd let me know when they had a tracking # to share. It is now April 8th and it still hasn't shipped and I followed up 3 times and the reply is always, "sorry for the frustration, we'll look into it"....and nothing further. DO NOT BUY THOR read more

I would never purchase a Thor Kitchen gas cooktop again. The LED housing around the knob will crack. If this happens outside of the 2 year warranty it will not be covered. I wish I could give them zero stars. By far the absolute worst appliances and customer service I have ever come across. They don't even have a warranty that they can stand behind. I have renovated two homes and put Thor appliances in both of them. I thought that maybe the first experience was a fluke but oh no, it got even worse! I had a warranty issues with the fridge and stove in the first home and a warranty issue with the fridge in the 2nd home. We purchased a 5 piece appliance package 3 years ago. Our refrigerator has broken 3 times, our wine refrigerator has been broken for 6 months with parts on back order (one side doesn't chill and the other freezes everything), we had to replace our dishwasher with a Bosch because it broke and they no longer made the parts, and our 48 inch double oven that has never heated properly or evenly on both sides just died. We've had a terrible experience with Thor. Although the appliances were well priced and seemed good quality, shortly after installing a Thor ice maker we came home and found our house flooded. The 2 week old ice maker failed. Brand new cabinetry was damaged beyond repair, panels and kick boards had to be custom ordered and replaced. Thor sent a repair person - after about 5 weeks trying to locate one - that repair person ordered a part that Thor could not locate. Part finally came in many weeks later, scheduled installation several weeks after that - only to have it fail again. Multiple service appointments with various third-party vendors (including latest Sears repair) scheduled, cancelled, or no-show. Finally got the repair scheduled a third time only to come and find it leaking again. Despite Thor's offer to continue sending repair people to attempt to fix, we no longer trust the appliance. I asked for a refund - they told me I need to contact retailer. Retailer must contact Thor and guess what - this process is as messed up as every other repair process we have encountered. It's been over a year. What a mess. I discourage you from purchasing any Thor appliance. read more

We have had to call multple times just to get defective appliances repaired or replaced. Ontario is lazy and very inadequate, we just called recently, and they returned 3 days later and stated from their email, the appliance is out of warranty. There only response with a 5 year warranty was there techs you can call, and THOR has no idea what they charge. During the remodel, a Thor fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and gas range were installed. Thor refuses to honor the warranty, and address an issue with the gas range because I didn't purchase the item myself. My wife and I purchased an entire appliance package of THOR appliances and so far the gas range and refrigerator have had problems in the 1st 6 months. The range was repaired easily by a 3rd party repair company while the refrigerator had 4 appliance repair folks try to repair the leaking water/ice dispenser to no avail and FINALLY after 7 months THOR agreed to replace the faulty unit, the first unit was damaged in shipping, so they sent a 3rd unit and it is leaking in the exact way. I have demanded a FULL refund and was told I have to go back to the appliance company where we purchased the unit and they will have to get a refund from THOR! The free-standing duel fuel $2700 range worked great for 1 year, and then the oven stopped working. The warranty is for two years, however, they will not honor their warranty which is for 2 years parts and labor. I have called 8 times, submitted for service 3 times and they still lie to me when I call. They said they couldn't find any submissions for 3 weeks, then they found it. Now they keep promising a call. Every day we call is another promise of contact. Nothing. I have to fix it myself which voids the warranty. That must be their game. Terrible company. read more

"I have owned several Induction Cooktops over the years. All have lived up to my expectations for ease of use, heating speed, and efficiency. The THOR unit isn't bad but not great. The major difference between THOR, Kitchen Aid, and Bosch is the THOR unit does not provide a continuous flow of power to the burner. It sends pulses of power to the burner. This can occasionally cause the food being cooked to underheat or overheat depending on the settings being used. This being said THOR is not a bad deal for the money but other brands that are slightly more in cost would be a better purchase." Also, Ice Maker is a Waste of Water & Electricity "What THOR does not tell its buyers is that this unit operates at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It does not keep the ice frozen but allows it all to melt within 48 hours. If you are using a great deal of ice this is not big deal. However, for the occasional user it is a waste of of water and electricity. Average use is 4 gallons per week of water that is not filtered, recycled and reused. It just goes down the drain. The compressor cycles about 4 hours a day. How this unit was awarded Energy Star Compliance is beyond me. I'll be purchasing another unit shortly." read more

If I could give them negative stars I would do that. We bought an entire Thor Kitchen when we remodeled. After a year the Refrigerator quit working. Contacted customer repair, a part was "ordered" From March to October -6 months-we were without a refrigerator. They refused to give us a new refrigerator just kept saying the part was coming. Shortly after that the oven quit working. After 5 different repair men came to work on it, the decision was made that it could not be repaired so a new one was ordered. Thor refused to have the defective one removed. We had it removed. There were 2 large burn marks on the floor. Every time we used the oven it was burning the hardwood floor underneath Which could have easily burned the house down. Then of course the refrigerator went out again. The exact same problem as before less than 10 months after they had "fixed" it with the part that took 6 months to get. Despite an email from months earlier saying the warranty on the fridge was good for another year, they refused to honor their word. The quality of these Thor appliances is not good but the worst is the people who run customer service. They are dishonest, deceitful, and not customer or service oriented. I spent close to $6,500 on Thor equipment, a venthood, range, dishwasher and refrigerator. The fridge they shipped me has defective handles and dented the face panels when I installed them as the bars where too long. I put in a request for replacement parts and the warranty person, I think named Rondell, was incredibly rude and accused me of damaging the parts on my own. I then called out a licensed service company and paid them a $99 service fee, they came out and confirmed the handles were too long. You'd think this was enough for them to understand it was a manufacturing defect but no they doubled down and circled the wagons and I've had to live with a one handle damaged fridge for the last year and a half. They refused to honor the 30 day return policy and any type of responsibility for a manufacturing defect confirmed by a reputable and licensed third-party service company. Honestly I'm done with these guys and am just waiting to replace the whole fridge with a new one as every time I look at it makes me depressed and I feel like a loser that got ripped off. My review is not a reflection of the Chino Hills location. My complaint is with Thor customer service. I call it self service because the service representative lacks knowledge of the product and their communication skills are awful. Thor Company must outsource the call center overseas. We chose the insurance which covered parts and labor. The service department sent out a technician from Sears only to diagnose the problem only to find out a switch needed to be ordered. That took almost a month to receive the part.The part gets delivered to your home then you need to call Customer Service to make another appointment to install the part. Their process is so bad my order was placed incorrectly by CS stating my microwave was needing the part when in fact it was for the range. I was so frustrated with the whole ordeal that I vow to never purchase a product from Thor. We spend 4 Thousand dollars on a range and within 9 months of the purchase a part fails. BEFORE SPENDING 150 dollars for insurance have the sales representative from the store or online explain the insurance plan and ask about third party repairs. read more

ONE STAR IS TOO MANY FOR THIS COMPANY !!! Paid $3200.00 for a stove that gave us problems the first week. Burner ignitors constantly give us trouble. We were told they could be replaced (cost would be approximately 1200.00!) that would only cover two out of the six burners! Then the oven igniter went out. We had to pay a service man to come look at it, another quote of over $1000, but my husband was able to figure out how to fix it himself. Parts are impossible to get your hands on. Don't buy anything from Thor! Their customer service is horrible, they do not return phone calls or text messages or emails. We found out they were just a few blocks from our home so we went into the office in person to discuss our first issue with them.
