I went to Threads without an appointment, on a weekday afternoon, and was brought back immediately after signing in. The lady that threaded my eyebrows was so gentle that it didn't even feel like I was getting threaded at all! She finished with some calming cream and a massage around my brows and temples, which was such a nice touch at the end. All this for just $10 made it a great deal however I was a bit disappointed with how my brows turned out. She did great on cleaning up my brows but on close inspection when I got home I noticed she messed up on one of my brows because a small patch of hair was missing. Considering the price, I might come back to try them out again but I'll probably go with another person to do my brows. read more

Cool vibe here. Interior design of the whole place rocks. Prices comparable to Artesia. 3 stars because I don't think they are as experienced as in socal, well my girl at least. She broke her thread A LOT and worked way too fast. I had to ask her to slow down because I was afraid that once she was done I'd have no eyebrows left. Oh and the workers were all young Americanized twenty-somethings which matches the decorum of the place. Whereas down here, you still have the older women. After sticking with it for the past year and a half - I am upgrading Threads to 4-stars. Threading is just one of those magical cultural things that should be patented! I wish every woman in the world can have an opportunity to learn and know about the availability of threading. Threading leaves your eye brows clean and natural - no harsh pulling or tugging of the skin like waxing would. Threads Beauty Bar has modernized threading and has made "hair removal" such an easy and comfy experience. I love this place! Minnie is great! always listens to what i would like done to my brows, shes quick and pretty consistent w my brows, but on the down side there is a little bit of discomfort (she presses a little hard, but my brows are immaculately clean!). She always goes over her service in the mirror and tells you what/where your brows need to grow if needed. This place is always nice and clean, their boutique area is always nice to wander. I never wait more than 5-7 minutes. Ive tried someone i think he name was Puja as well, and she was good. Ive heard a lot about Lily on Yelp but im scared to stray from Minnie. I hate having uneven brows or too thin of brows, so i always tend to stick w what i know! I had never gotten my eyebrows threaded before coming here....I used to pluck or get them waxed. Well, ever since my first trip here, I have never done anything else! This place does a wonderful job on my eyebrows every time. Just be careful because they like to trim your brows too, so I always have to tell them thread only, no trim. All of their employees are great at threading, but my favorite is Rita. She's fast, thorough, and it's nearly painless! For only $10 and 10 minutes of your time, you really can't go wrong! read more

I come here all the time. I get the threading package because it makes the overall price cheaper. All of the ladies are very good and very professional. They also give you a nice lotion massage after the threading which really helps my eyebrows relax. The place is clean and very hygienic. I think stick to eyebrows for this place NOT hair. Came for color and cut. The color takes ONE HOUR!! I wish I had known that before confirming my appointment. Stylist didn't seem very experienced. Washing my hair the water splashed on my face, my back was wet. The color didn't cover all the gray hairs. The cut could have been better. I've had other stylists be more engaging and listen to what I want and offer suggestions. I think this very junior stylist just does what people want vs being able to see what people would like and offer suggestions. I'm grateful that I was able to get in with last minute appointment. I. Love. Threading. I used to get threaded all the time in SoCal, and so I was happy to finally find this place up here. Quick, low-pain, clean, inexpensive, professional, and very sweet women. Mind you, I've only gotten facial threading done. I do not have experience with their other services. But for the threading, they get 5 stars. added 29.9.2007: Today I got some threading done by a woman at Threads named Mishnu. She was very thorough and when she was through (apparently, all the ladies do this), she put cooling lotion on the finished areas and I got a VERY delightful face massage. Update: 6/5/08 I had the lady with really, really long hair (below her waist) do my brows and she messed them up horribly. I told her I wanted to keep my brows full and just needed some clean-up done. She instead decides that I need them thinner at the start of my brows and thicker at the end, making them look quite odd. I would not suggest anyone to go to her since she just kept threading more and more of my brows away. I told her they looked fine after the initial thread but she said no, there was more that she had to do to them. That made me a little apprehensive and in the end disappointed with what she did. I now have to grow out my brows so they are even again. I will still come here but I know not to go to her to get my brows done. ----------------------------------------- The location of this place is kind of weird in my opinion. It's in a run down area with a lot of construction going on right in front of it. The inside however is very tastefully decorated and the people here are very nice. I didn't have an apppointment so I had to wait a long time for my eyebrow and upper lip threading. Definitely recommend people to make an appointment or you will be in for quite a wait. The person who did my brows listened to what I wanted and did a wonderful job! She was really quick but precise at her work which I am very thankful for. I have had people who have made my brows too thin and uneven but here she got my brows exactly how I wanted them. The price for eyebrow and upper lip was $12! There isn't a better deal anywhere else than this! This place charges the right price for eye brow threading. For $10, they take their time shaping and cleaning my brows. When you walk-in, with or without an appointment, you'll need to sign-in on their clipboard at the left hand side of the counter. This was not intuitive for this first timer, so I was greeted and instructed to do so several minutes after I arrived. I made an appointment, but it didn't seem to matter. I still had to wait. There were 3 people at the counter but I was a little disappointed with the level of attentiveness, particularly since I was the only customer in the waiting are. There were also two employees who were sitting in the waiting area - this made me wonder why I had to wait when two employees were just sitting there. (Maybe they don't do brows.) The women who did my brows jumped right in and did her thing. It would have been nice for her to introduce herself. Maybe I am expecting too much. I've called them once for an appointment and I was 10 minutes late and I paid a penalty for it. I didn't mind but the next time I went, I made sure I didn't call for an appointment. The place is clean and well maintained. I can pretty much say that I trust their skills on threading. I only get their eyebrow and upper lip threading service for only $12 and they're good and thorough. The longest I waited for a walk in was 8 minutes. I only go to this place when I'm on my way to Tracy, stop for 20 minutes and I'm done. They have a small little shop for impulse buyers like jewelries and beauty products that are imported and organic. They have other services that I would like to try: mani and pedi, mehendi, facials, massage and tanning. So far I haven't had any bad experience, except that they close a tad early on Sundays and close on Mondays. read more

I love this place, but only trust my brows to one woman ... Cohinder (not sure of the spelling here?). My sisters and I come here and I have been lucky enough to get Cohinder each time. They have gotten different girls each time they have visited and are stuck with uneven brows .... so be careful who you ask for. I only go to Cohinder exclusively and my sis likes Lily. I am giving it 4 stars because it is kinda in the cuts for me .... other than that good prices and nice atmosphere. I think it is $12 for stache and brows and $17 if your brows need a reshape + stache. Quick, easy and inexpensive! I walked in during lunch hour (around 12:30) and waited around 15 minutes to be seen by one of the threaders. Considering the time of day, I was pretty impressed by how quickly they were able to get people in and out. They have a team of ladies that are available for threading services and my eyebrow touch-up and upper lip (together) cost $12 and took around 10 minutes. Considering the last threader I visited in SF charges $30 for just eyebrows, I was astounded by the pricing! The lady that I had was great. I had never had my lip done before and I have to admit, I may opt for waxing the next time around (I typically wax). Threading eyebrows isn't overly painful, but the lip was pretty awful for me! Was reminded yet again why I stopped going here. Was in at 11:04 am for eyebrows, and 50 min facial. At first was told I am early, then wait of 7-8 min, go in, get my eyebrows, upper lip done, move to facial room for the supposed 50 min service. I am out back in the car after paying at 12:01 pm. This place gets 4 stars as an average of wait time versus quality of service. Even with an appointment, I waited half an hour. I think that they have a set number of girls for the "appointments" and a set number of girls for the "walk-ins." So you made an appointment for 11A and arrive on time; and a walk-in came in at 11:15A; and the "walk-in" threader is available at 11:20A - even though you made the appointment, the walk-in gets to go first. Grrr... 3 stars The threading and the quality of the threaders is amazing. I know that some people have "favorites" but I've gone to different girls and all of them do an excellent job. I like threading because I have sensitive skin and can't handle waxing and/or depilatories and plucking takes forever and never turns out as precise. This girls are pretty experienced and take their time. And the girls I've had have stopped at points and asked me what I thought; which I like, as opposed to threading my eyebrows into oblivion because they thought it would look nice...5 stars. Prices are fairly decent as well - $12 combo eyebrow/upper lip; $17 if they have to re-shape your eyebrows. I haven't gotten any of their other services, but those seem reasonably priced as well. Definitely utilize this place if you are in the Danville/San Ramon/Dublin area, otherwise you are making a trek to Fremont for decent threaders. I went here to try threading for the first time. I really like the way my eyebrows turned out--much cleaner lines than waxing produces, and with long-lasting results as well. It wasn't painful at all--I'm not really the sensitive type, so that might have something to do with my opinion on the ouch factor. The prices are good--I gave only four stars because when I signed in I specifically noted that I wanted my eyebrows threaded and my upper lip waxed. They overlooked the waxing, so when I returned to the waiting area I had to wait another 15 minutes before I could get the waxing done. I was looking for a place to get my eyebrows shaped and came here for threading on the recommendation of a friend. I checked it out online and decided to make an appt to avoid the potential walk-in wait. It was a Sat afternoon and not to busy. I was initially nervous, having read various reviews describing the threading. I would have to agree with whomever said it feels like quick, sharp electric pulses. The lady who did my brows was quick and it wasn't too painful. I even had my upper lip done as well, since it was only $12 for both. That stung a bit more and even with the calming creme (or maybe because of it) my skin broke out in red bumps. Overall, I was still happy with the results and was planning to return (mainly for eyebrows, still iffy about that upper lip). That was about a month and a half ago. Okay, I was so scared to go and get "threaded". I was actually going to go a week before my wedding to do so because I heard such great reviews on yelp. I chickened out though because I read on-line how some people end up with scabs, and so on. Plus, my sister (Maid-of-honor) told me how teachers at her school had bad experiences. So...out of my mind and went off to The Brow Bar at Macy's. One lady does a great job there, but the price it just too high. Okay...a month and a half later... Figure the wedding is over, why not??? I went in on a Friday at 5ish. Walking in, I loved the decoration/colors, etc. I got worried though because all the benches were taken...I was thinking to myself, this is going to be a long wait. The gentleman working the front desk was very friendly. He told me it would be about ten minutes. I sat down and read a magazine and took a peek in back. There are about 10 salon chairs that lean back. A client was at each chair, and a "threader" was over the client busy at work. It was amazing to watch. They are so fast, and it's just crazy how it is done with thread. After about 15 minutes I was called. I had a gal named Minnie. She got to work on my eyebrows....verdict... Eyebrows didn't really hurt at all. Was a little nervous to see them when she propped me up with a mirror. They looked awesome! Not a tiny hair left to be seen (like you usually see with waxing). Then it was onto the lip. Now...I must say...that hurt a tad bit, especially right next to the lip. It all goes VERY QUICKLY though. What I liked was that there was NO REDNESS AFTER and it didn't sting at all after. You would have never known I got it done...like waxing. THE BEST PART EVER...they put a cooling cream on your eyebrows, but then you get a mini eyebrow/temple massage...I LOVED IT!!! When my husband picked me up, he said, "Let's see". He couldn't' want to see the outcome because he couldn't believe that a method like this for hair removal existed! He said that it was the best job he has seen since we have been together! I must say that is like the best compliment! Loved the eyebrows. Side note: Be sure that you tip your "threader". They don't really put you in an awkward position when you pay so it is easy NOT to give a tip. When you finish, either hand her a couple of bucks before going up front to pay OR they let you walk back after getting your change to hand the tip. I saw many people not tipping! I decided to try this place while visiting my friend in Dublin. I've read all the reviews here and my friend is a regular so I figured why not? We went and saw Lily who my friend says is the best. She says she's tried a couple other girls and they just weren't quite as good as Lily. I definitely loved the cleanliness factor that is present here that you don't always get elsewhere.
