had a solid dinner here, prices were fair, service was good. no complaints other than the asparagus could have used some more seasoning (or any seasoning at all?? lol) interior isn't anything exciting or special, just a good standard restaurant that i believe does a breakfast buffet which sounds great!

Fun craft cocktails and good food. Very impressed with the Mediterranean hummus and the bison and elk skewers were yummy (could have used a dash more seasoning but tender and very good). Isaac was a fantastic bartender and showed a lot of pride in making good craft cocktails. They were delicious! The Maple old fashioned was delicious as well. He also let us sample his clarified margarita and it was so smooth and so delicious! Will definitely go back before we leave.

Absolutely LOVED this place. The ambience is cozy and homey and old school. The decor feels like country, with wooden tables and chairs, as well as booth seating. The food was delicious on the whole. One thing I'll say is that the pita was a bit hard and stale. We were so full after eating our apps and entrees that we were bummed we couldn't get dessert. Shoutout to 6'7" Kevin for being a great server.

Plenty of options to choose from (we only came here for breakfast). Our breakfast voucher from the lodge covered up to $10 on the menu and a drink. Our breakfast items ranged from English muffin breakfast sammies, breakfast burritos, western omelette, huckleberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc. They did have a breakfast buffet for $14.95 advertised as one of the options one day. Even with short staffing, it took less than 45 minutes from sitting, ordering, to finishing. The restaurant was never full most days and the bear decor cute. I was informed that they no longer have bison sausage on the menu (like the online menu suggests). 2023 #42

We stopped here during our cross-country move before our trip to Yellowstone the next day. We were very pleasantly surprised! This was one of the only places that had vegetarian options in an area full of BBQ/burger restaurants. My partner got the bison burger and enjoyed it; I got the marinara pasta and the eggplant fries with aioli. I highly recommend the eggplant fries; they reminded me of the zucchini fritters my mom would make growing up. The chef was greeting customers and I overheard that they make everything fresh in-house; "scratch made". Service was friendly and our takeout order was out quickly.

We walked by 2 days earlier. THE SMELL!!! We banked all our morals on the fact that 3 bear was going to be the spot! Disclaimer: You need to know we had been living in an RV. We opted for 1 dinner on this trip at a restaurant while on the road. Our hopes were high, our appetites' ready. Montana- thinking the meat has to be good, right?! WRONG. 3 bear was not the place. The smell may be luring but the meal fell flat. The steak was pricey for being very fatty and lacking flavor. My husband was disgusted by his meal. I have thoughts about places that serve a baked potato and doesn't take the time to lob on butter and sour cream. Instead it was served (at a high cost) with butter packets and sour cream packets. LAME! The decor is outdated, thing early 80's country. The booths are very tight. The salad was sup par. This place is a tourist trap and 3 bears should tear it apart!

Kevin was our waiter. He was friendly and explained the food options. The food came out really fast! And even though he was busy he kept checking in with us. We tried the soup of the day... cauliflower something. It was good. The best part was the bison ribeye. It was done med well (more medium) and was flavorful. I had the chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken portion was larger than expected. The mashed potatoes were homemade and I love that it is full of potato chunks. We ended with an apple Brown Betty. It's huge! We could share it easily and still couldn't finish it! The servers were nice and the manager helpful when we had a small issue that he was so kind to address. In addition it's a quaint place that is western style decor. It's nice and clean as well. I love that they have cloth napkins! Thanks, Kevin for a nice evening!

I arrived around 7 PM and grabbed a seat at the bar since I was dining solo. The restaurant was busy, but the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Prosciutto Pasta with a side of bread. The pasta was outstanding -- easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time. The combination of braised chicken, prosciutto, mushrooms, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and creamy parmesan-mascarpone sauce came together perfectly. Every bite was flavorful, rich, and satisfying without feeling heavy or dry. As someone preparing for a half marathon the next morning, it was the perfect carb-loading meal. I also ordered the Huckleberry Sundae for dessert. If you're visiting the Yellowstone area, do yourself a favor and try something with huckleberries. The ice cream, topping, and whipped cream were fantastic, and it ended up being one of my favorite desserts from the trip. One unexpected bonus was getting to chat with other travelers at the bar, including another runner who was also working toward completing a half marathon in all 50 states. It added to the friendly, welcoming feel of the place. Overall, Madison Crossing Lounge delivered excellent food, a great atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. I don't hand out many five-star reviews, but this one earned it. If I'm back in West Yellowstone for another race or a visit to Yellowstone National Park, I'll absolutely be returning. You don't have to be dressy or childless, but the menu and ambiance are ever slightly more grown-up than other options. Prices reflect that while still being reasonable. Standard salads were refreshing start to unwind after crowds at Yellowstone. Excellently buttered and pan-seared trout with grilled asparagus and sauteed snap peas were wonderful. Timing is everything. Try to arrive before 6pm to avoid the queue. (Restaurant opens at 5pm; moderate sized dining room.) The (Montana-sized portion of) huckleberry ice cream seemed popular with many diners.

The squeeze and I shared the pulled pork samminch with onion rings on the side. It also comes with slaw. I ordered a cup of bison chili as well. The slaw was white cabbage that had a hint of horseradish bite. The chili was good, had a hint of heat. The pulled pork lacked its own flavor profile. The BBQ sauce made it enjoyable. Piecing together that this is a tourist trap town on the outskirts of YNP, I lowered my expectations to like 5/10. Believe me, this is worse than mid. We were famished driving out of Yellowstone after a long day of sightseeing, as most of this place's victims probably are. I grimly perused the menu, and ordered a burger and fries because surelllyyyyyy... they can make a 5/10 burger?! My standards were so low! The bread on the burgers was soggy and gross, the burger wasn't seared at all, and the fries were burnt. Our friend ordered steak: the steak was bright pink through and through and also not even seared... how do you mess up this badly? Do they have a grill back there?? I've cooked steak way better myself on a skillet for way cheaper. A bowl of onion rings with no dipping sauce. Salads with tomatoes sliced round- not diced. I had never seen that before in my life. Other friend got a pizza. She said it was okay, but looking at it I had my doubts. I'll admit I didn't try it because it looked like day old frozen pizza. Mind you if the total bill had been $75, then whatever we were hungry, it's a tourist trap-- No. The total for the food was $148. For 4 people. No drinks at all, just water. I'm so appalled and embarrassed because there were lots of international visitors here for Yellowstone. Probably more than usual if some stopped here during a US visit for the World Cup. They probably come here and believe this abomination is representative of American food. Shameful. I normally wouldn't bring up something like ambiance, but since this place has the audacity to charge nice restaurant prices for food so disgusting I wouldn't even feed it to a dog, the music sucks too. It was the most cliche 70s American bar playlist ever. I personally enjoy that kind of music, but here it feels like rubbing salt in a wound. Positives: Server was nice, poor guy. The French onion soup was actually nice and up to par, but French onion soup is not enough to redeem a place, especially when this place is your first stop in civilization and you're ready to chow down. Next night we skipped West Yellowstone and opted for the gas station by our Airbnb. The hours-old chicken sandwich behind glass was Michelin star compared to this.

The door directly opens to the bar, which has high tables where families can be seated. (Here, we chose seats so we could watch the World Cup match.) There's another room with more conventional, lower tables. I asked for sliced jalapenos to be added the buffalo burger with cheddar, lettuce, sliced tomato, diced raw red onion on a toasted bun. Diners can specify to what extent the buffalo is cooked: medium or med rare are recommended.
