I see that there are a lot of really bad reviews, but my wife and I had several very good meals there. We purchased a package from the affiliated tour company so we ate 3 breakfasts and 1 dinner there as part of the package. The breakfast coupons is actually for items costing $8 to $9; anything over that and you pay the difference. The no charge list was pretty limited, but the prices for other items only added a few dollars. The 1st breakfast my wife said the eggs were a little runny, but the 2nd they were okay. She liked the pancakes the 3rd. I had omelets twice and a bf burrito once and were all good. The hashbrowns were good, but not great (few restaurants do). Our coupons for the prime rib, seafood or chicken dinner were actually good for anything up to $29 on the menu and only a few items were that expensive. I had the prime rib with string beans and carrots and my wife had the salmon and baked potato. The prime rib was very good as was the salmon, all covered. My wife didn't like their blue cheese dressing but the ranch was good. The service was good for all of our visits. read more

Came in here with my parents and husband for breakfast on a Wednesday morning when it was not even busy. Out of the 4 of us 3 ordered omelets and all 3 were wrong. We tried to tell our waitress but after the first one we told her was wrong she just asked my dad "so you want us to remake it?" really rudely and walked away when I said mine was wrong too. Lucky for her I didnt bother pushing that it was a Western Omelet that I ordered and instead of green bell pepper, onion, ham, and cheese it came with onion, ham, sausage, bacon, tomato and cheese. The hash browns were old and crusty and the service was extremely disappointing by Mariann who even gave us someone else's receipt when we asked to get a copy of our receipt. We stayed at the Three Bear Lodge so we had breakfast here 4 days in a row. We also ate dinner twice because we were too pooped to look around. The breakfast buffet that was complimentary was really good. You could also trade your voucher for $10 off any item from the breakfast menu. We did the buffet all 4 days. There was an amazing fruit bowl every day. The fruit was fresh and ripe. We all enjoyed starting our day this way. They had biscuits and gravy every day. A variety of breads, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. They had a second entree each day. 2 days it was hash, one day it was like a scrambled version of a Denver omelette, and one day it was quiche. Coffee is good. Service is excellent. They have the nicest servers! Both dinners were good. Across the dinners we tried the salmon, spaghetti, fettuccine Alfredo, and a couple soups. The food was all excellent. And again, the servers really go all out to ensure you are happy. We will be back next time we head to Yellowstone. read more

GREAT BREAKFAST! West Yellowstone is always busy as it's so close to the park. We normally packed lunches and skipped breakfast to get in as much sight seeing as possible. We stopped here for breakfast our last day and it was FANTASTIC! We ordered chicken fried steak (the grizzly bear)- hands down the best chicken friend steak I've had to date. Their gravy is seasoned well! I could definitely eat this meal every morning if I was a local. They have bakery goods and specialty coffees as well. Be prepared to wait as the locals love this place and the wait can be in access of an hour on Saturday's and Sunday mornings (especially after church). We were lucky enough to stop in on the last day before the business closed for the season. Food was excellent. The omelet my husband had was huge. I had the French toast and it was perfect. With such a variety of steak selections on the menu, we were expecting a delicious meal from a great steakhouse. In reality, it was anything but great. I ordered the bison filet tenderloin, medium rare. It was room temperature when it came out. There was no seasoning on the meat whatsoever, not even salt or pepper or garlic or butter. It was so bland, I had to use the table ketchup just to make it tolerable, which is a crime in my opinion. The "vegetable of the day" was a medley, but when it came to the table it looked like it came straight from a can or frozen bag. Again, no seasoning whatsoever on these veggies. The only saving grace was the crispy seasoned french fries. My husband ordered the bison ribeye and it was a little better, but still nothing compared to other steaks we had at other places in town. We have been eating here every morning as it is complimentary so this is a breakfast review. Everything we have eaten has been well prepared. The biscuits are large. Their biscuits and gravy are savory. The cinnamon rolls are large, their omelets are cheesy. Coffee is a nice brew too. Both of our servers have been friendlly and attentive. This season though, ask for Ellie. She is a gem...a friendly smile and constantly scanning to make sure customers are happy! So nice to be at a hotel and not get the typical breakfast bar. Here each person lodging gets an $8.00 value ticket which covers many breakfast items. read more

I was super excited about this place... But was kinda disappointed. We got a bison burger (which was fine), and I wanted the bison chili, but the only thing on the menu that had it was the nachos? Came here during the winter season with plenty of snow around. The service was lackluster. The soup/salad plates stayed on the table during our whole dinner. I also observed a whole family walk out of the restaurant because they weren't being served. The waiter did come by the table and asked how we were doing about 4 times during our hour there. As for food, I had the bison steak. It was mediocre. I felt it lacked the flavor and tenderness to be priced at $36. Overall I would try it again to see if it was just an off night but initially I wasn't impressed. read more

Even the tap water in this place was delicious. Hubby and I got Bison burgers with fries. Burgers appeared to be on home baked buns with the usual trimmings. Thick, juicy and flavorful burgers. The fries were big, crispy and yummy. My mom got salmon, baked potato, salad bar and Ham & Bean soup. My dad got the same but with boneless pork chops. We all really enjoyed our dinners and the restaurant in general. And our waitress was friendly and attentive. We are staying at the ThreeBear Lodge for three nights and doing 2 Yellowstone tours. This is a great place to visit, stay and to eat. Ate there a few more times... Once more for dinner and three times for breakfast. We had vouchers, what can I say? We asked for a recommendation for a restaurant to get a good steak and Three Bear Restaurant was one of the options. I thought the name was cute, so we thought we would head over there. Three Bear is the restaurant operated by the Three Bear Lodge. We walked in and waited to be seated - the hostess took us to a booth and gave us menus. There were glasses and a pitcher of water already on the table. We perused the menu, which had a lot of options, including burgers, sandwiches, pastas, and other types of entrees. We zeroed in on the page with the Chef's Specialties, which had the various steak and bison options. They offer prime rib, bison ribeye, angus ribeye, filet mignon, bison sirloin tips, elk medallions, pork chops, roasted chicken, and more. I really wanted to try a bison dish, so I asked the server if the bison sirloin tips were good and she said they were, so that's what I picked. When you order an entree from the Chef's Specialty section, you pick two sides, which include a build-you-own salad from the salad bar, soup from the soup bar, a baked potato, veggie fritters, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, french fries, and green beans. I picked the salad and the mac n cheese. For the salad, at least if you get it with the entree, it's not unlimited. The server told me it was just one visit, which is slightly lame. So I tried to pile my little salad plate really high with veggies. The rest of the table ordered the angus ribeye with salad, soup, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The salad was okay - there was this pasta fixing that I added and it was kind of on the salty side. Salad fixings included cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, boiled eggs, baby corn, mushrooms, beans, peas, and more. They also had colorful tortilla strips, sunflower seeds, croutons, and like some sort of cheese cracker for toppings too. From the soup bar, there was a veggie soup and what I thought was clam chowder, but whatever it was, it was watery and not that good. When we arrived back at our table, there were some dinner rolls with butter on our table. The dinner rolls looked like they were from the store - just pulled apart. When our entrees came, the portions were huge! My plate had several of the sirloin tips and a heaping serving of mac n cheese, and also a few grapes - for decoration maybe? The bison sirloin tips were okay - they were actually really tough and chewy. I ordered it cooked medium. The angus ribeye was better. The mac n cheese had this flavor that taste like the Kraft kind that you get at the grocery store, very orange and cheddary. I actually like the box mac n cheese, so this kind of reminded me of childhood. They used the pasta noodles that look like shells. The green beans were good but kind of salty. The mashed potatoes were good. Overall, this place was sort of a mixed bag. Some things were good, some things weren't bad. But this place offers a lot of variety on their menu, so there's bound to be something everyone in your party can eat (unless it's Asian, cuz they don't have that). Service was fine. I will accept partial fault for my bad experience. First the positives. Good service, friendly staff. Soup was great, both the beef noodle and the sausage onion. Group ordered the pot roast and meat loaf. They loved it. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. Big mistake. Immediate food poisoning. Smelled fishy but I was starving from a long day and finished it. Shouldn't have ordered lobster from just outside yellowstone. Immediate unpleasant trip to the bathroom and several more followed. It's small and busy. The staff are ok. The good makes up for it. At the end of the meal we figured out what the best would be to order... The salad bar was good the soup was great ... homemade chili. The ribeye was good. All the baked potatoes hand sour cream have chives in them. The potato skins were amazing. Good ice tea and good brownie dessert with ice cream. Ask to sit away from kids. The ambiance is very homey/family restaurant. Servers were plentiful when we visited and therefore the service was very good. Beer selection is limited and only bottles and cans. We just had breakfast at Three Bears. Wife said her pancake was really good, the bacon was crispy without being burned and my omelette was right on. Best of all since I am on KETO they traded my toast and potatoes for a dish of fresh cut melons and fruit. Gotta say I would go there again. This place had it all decent prices, superior food, fun setting, superior staff, open when they publish they will be.
